I already started the challenge. I hacked the ROM to change the wild encounters on Route 103 in order to obtain my whole team at level 2-4 and 5 for Cyndaquil.
Game: Sapphire
Current Location: Route 116 (East of Rustboro City)

-Chose Torchic as first Pokémon, named it Starter
-Beat May on Route 103
-Caught Eevee (Company), Machop (Mattathias), Cyndaquil (Light) and Delibird (Santa) and ran out of Pokéballs while trying to catch a Tauros
-Stored Starter in the PC
-Moved through Petalburg Woods to Rustboro City

5. That Not-Jewish Friend: A deer-like, tree-like, or fat Pokemon, or Delibird - Scolipede? (I think 442 lbs with that design counts as "fat")
6. Feast of Dedication: A Pokemon you think would be delicious (This is sort of a free pick) - Crustle
For now this is what I have in mind, but considering this team is very weak to Water, I am subject to change one or more of these before I begin. Nevertheless, let's still go for it.

By Light of Fire: Lucia the Magmortar. The name is based on Finnish/Swedish folklore, where the taught of Lady Lucia is seen as light for the winter's darkness. We celebrate Lucia's day 13th Dec.

Used my random generator as usual to pick my team because I am a very indecisive person… but forgot to take HMs into account and am missing three :/ I don't like using HM slaves for this type of challenge because I feel like I'm cheating (even though I don't think I saw anything about not using them) and I hate the inconvenience of using the box all the time, but I also don't really want to go through the process of re-drawing my team so… I don't know.
I'll figure it out tomorrow.

I'm posting this more for me than y'all, haha. But this is what my team is gonna look like:
Chandelure is pretty close to being a menorah, so I'm going with it. Same with Claydol, as it is a top, ie. a dreidal. The Maccabees were a rebel army and Haxorus looks like it would have walked out of an army itself, plus it's base attack is over 110. Audino helps people and is pink. I like pink. Sudowoodo is tree-based and since it's so strange, it suits the "non-Jewish" thing since it's kind of the odd man out. Lilligant would be a tasty salad. You know me. Gotta fit in Petilil/Lilligant somehow. :P
I hope to start this tomorrow, btw. Trying to move my boyfriend's stuff off White 2 into Bank, but it doesn't want to connect for some reason.

- Started with Tepig, then quickly caught Feast the Pidgey on Route 1.
- After meeting and beating N, I moved on to Striaton City, defeating Bianca along the way.
- Beat the trainers in the Dreamyard, then defeated Cheren in the Trainer's School.
- The first gym was a Rotation Battle against Cress. I had to faint my other Pokémon in battle, and Feast barely survived to win.
- Directly after the battle, Feast evolved into Pigeotto!
- Moved on to Route 3, where I caught Dreidel the Phanpy, then saved a Pokémon from Team Plasma.
- Got the Fishing Rod as thanks, so I went back into Wellspring Cave and caught Acu the Tentacool.
- Continued on to Nacrene Town, then went to the outside of Pinwheel Forest.
- After many shaking encounters, I finally got Chimchar to appear, which I caught and named Torch.
- Trained Torch up on the trainers there, and he evolved into Monferno right away. I then defeated N in front of the museum.
- Took on the gym, and Lenora was a double battle, and very tough - it took my whole team to win even with higher levels.
- Team Plasma showed up and stole the Dragon Skull, so I went to Pinwheel Forest to recover it.
- While I was beating the Team Plasma Grunts, Dreidel evolved into Donphan!
- Eventually recovered the Dragon Skull, and then crossed the bridge to Castelia City.
- Beat the dancers for the Amulet Coin, then saved.
