Not sure if this where this topic belongs, if not please move to the appropriate section.

How much work, trouble would it be to write an encounter script that read the encounter rates from the same file as the possible pokemon?

Example:
MAPID # MAPTITLE
Grass
%A, pokemonA, lo, hi
%B, pokemonB, lo, hi
%C, pokemonC, lo, hi
%D, pokemonD, lo, hi
OldRod
%A, pokemonA, lo, hi
%B, pokemonB, lo, hi
%C, pokemonC, lo, hi
%D, pokemonD, lo, hi

The percentages would add up to 100.

A fair amount of work, and not really necessary when you consider the following:

  1. You have flexibility with the defined percentages of the existing encounter methods. It's not vital that the ratios are exact, so don't worry about having the numbers perfect - no one will notice if the ratios are 35%/35%/30% rather than 33.3%/33.3%/33.3%.
  2. If it means that much to you, make a new encounter method with the numbers you want.
