ATLANTIS AWAKENING

The lost city of Atlantis, hidden beneath the waves and the annals of history is one written about in nearly every civilization. A place that once held a civilization many years old and incredibly advanced that in one cataclysmic moment was destroyed and sunk beneath the waves. Many people spend their whole lives just looking for evidence of its existence. Yet none have succeeded in uncovering any of its secrets as it lays dormant at the bottom of the ocean.

However, to a select group of the populace, Atlantis is a reality for them. Remnants of the Atlantean civilisation washed up on shores around the world and continued to live with the humans. Bringing with them their vast knowledge, they helped the humans to grow and develop. They managed the building of the Great Pyramids on the Giza Plateau, the construction of the Great Wall of China as well as other great marvels. They brought the human world from its knees to its feet. Even some of the world's greatest leaders were Atlantean. They brought a new era for Human civilisation.

Recent archaeological digs in Egypt have uncovered evidence of the Atlanteans presence within the human community. Forced to come out of the closet, very few of the remaining families of true Atlanteans that still retain their ancestry have made their presence known. Possessing godly powers, these Atlanteans propose a bright new future as they begin to shed further light on their ancient civilisation. Hidden in the populace, Atlantean descendants who have forgotten their ancestry lie dormant; their own past waiting to be revealed to them.

In the midst of this discovery, a group come to light calling themselves the 'Atlantean Royal Family'. In a single press release, they talk about the history of the Atlantean people and how they still live within Humans today. Raising a brilliant crystal in the air, they announce the awakening of the Atlantean race as across the world, people begin to develop abilities. From the public rise a new society known as the Atlantean Unification Project, who wish to unite Atlanteans as a single race. With these two groups at the vanguard, a new era for human and Atlantean kind beckons.

Who are you?

It has been two weeks since the Atlanteans revealed themselves and your abilities came into manifestation. As the gears of fate turn in motion, the world moves closely to a new era, one that is on very thin ice. On the day of the unveiling of the crystal you find your skin itch as a strange marking appears on your body where there shouldn't be one. You are an Atlantean. You wait with anticipation as your ability slowly emerges and you can begin to realise what power you hold. The world is very fragile however, and you could be the person who keeps it steady, or pushes it over the edge.

Everyone is different, and that goes for Atlanteans too. As a descendant of Atlantis, you do not have the same power as another Atlantean. Some abilities come close, but none are the same.

Main Information:
Name: Wyatt Cale
Alias: Sentinel
Age: 21
Height: 5'11''
Weight: 72kg
Location: Lancaster, Lancashire, England, Great Britain

Appearance:
Nationality: British-Canadian
Atlantean Tattoo: Appearing on the back of his neck below the base of his skull, twin lines rotates clockwise around a single point with each tail ending in opposing corners. Three small spikes jut out in intervals around the outside of the lines.
Physical:
Naturally, Wyatt is considered to have dirty blonde hair; however in summer his hair tends to lighten quite considerably while in winter it ends up darkening bringing Wyatt from almost blonde to effectively brown hair. Soft to the touch naturally, his hair falls slightly over his ears and just obscures his eyebrows while it lightly touches the collar of any collared shirts he wears. Behind a pair of thin framed glasses are the biggest anomaly of Wyatt; his eyes. Due to a lack of pigmentation in his irises, Wyatt's eye colour changes constantly; more often than not when he is using one of his "Multi-Visions" which can stand out quite a bit. Other than this, when exposed to varying degrees of light, they tend to change from light green on one end of the scale, and dark green on the other. A fairly square and thick jawline that is almost constantly covered in stubble means that Wyatt often appears older than he is.

An above average build of muscularity shows Wyatt's preference for training at the gym, something he does often, and eating healthily. However, unlike body builders, Wyatt does not have 'over the top muscles', but is rather quite defined in his muscularity. Being somewhat physically active means that Wyatt is slightly tanned, or though with the weather in Lancaster, tanning is something hard to do. In contrast to his muscular build, he has somewhat 'thin' fingers, better used for dealing with electronics or getting into nooks and crannies, but also good for typing on keyboards; something he does a lot of.

Clothing:
Wyatt's wardrobe is not one full of many colourful clothes. Partially due to his slight inability to see the full spectrum of colours, but also due to the fact that black, white and grey are the easiest colours to blend together, his wardrobe consists of many clothes in these shades. As far as shirts go, Wyatt wears a plain dark grey long-sleeved shirt beneath a buttoned black shirt. Many of his clothes contain no brands, slogans or pictures, since Wyatt prefers the plain colours which allow him to blend in more. Over top of his grey shirt is an unbuttoned black shirt that has long sleeves as well and a thin hood which he let's sit over top of the black leather jacket he wears often. When it gets cold, Wyatt will button up his shirt then zip up his leather jacket, but never does he pull up the hood of his shirt - a little quirk he has.

Due to the paleness of his legs when contrasted to the rest of his body and the weather in Lancaster, Wyatt prefers to wear jeans. On quite formal occasions, he will wear a pair of straight cut jeans, and in casual occasions, his jeans are boot cut. His preference for these two sizes being that he can move his legs more, in case the time for defence was needed, or so he could run away. On a more personal side, he dislikes the comfort and feel of 'tighter' cut jeans. Apart from jeans, he does possess several pairs of black pants as well as black work pants alongside a couple of pairs of cargo pants, however these are mostly in varying shades of grey or black.

As far as shoes go, he wears a pair of black leather work shoes, which he finds annoying and uncomfortable; however they are part of the uniform for his work. When not working, he wears a variety of black formal-casual shoes, all dependants on what he is wearing at the time. To suit the colour scheme, all his socks are white, black or grey.

As far as accessories go, Wyatt wears a silver analogue watch on his right hand, despite being right handed. A pointed labret piercing points out from below his lip in the centre; his one and only piercing.

Wyatt's Atlantean tattoo appeared at the top of his spine several days after feeling the burning sensation in the back of his eyes. Shown in an attachment below, it appears somewhat similar to his younger sisters; albeit reversed.

The irony between Wyatt and his ability though is the fact that several years ago, he was diagnosed with Partial Colour-blindness, meaning that not all the colour cones in his eyes were full, so the entire spectrum of colours that other people can see is limited; his trouble being mostly in shades of colours where one colour becomes another. For this he wears a pair of thin glasses that help him to differentiate colours by making up for what he lacks in eyesight.

Personality:
Wyatt is the kind of person who has to see something to believe it. People could tell him something truthful and unless he saw for himself, he would not believe the person or people. This is good since it means that he does not fall for lies easily, but bad as most people see this as trust issues. However it is safe to say he does have trust issues and unless he trusts someone, he will quite often create a façade to hide himself, more of a defensive measure than anything. Alongside this, he chooses not to get close to people, for the people he had come close to before he had felt hurt by. To obtain Wyatt's trust is something not many people get easily; it can even take years for Wyatt to trust someone.

One of his better qualities is his protectiveness. Mainly over his little sister long ago, the protectiveness is still there, often for girls whom remind him of his younger sister and close friends of his; not that he has many. If he saw a young girl around his sister's age being harassed in public, he would quickly step in to protect her; something of an automatic response. His one weakness to this though would be his sister; if anything was to happen to her, even though he hasn't talked to her in ages, he would hunt down whoever was responsible for hurting her and deal with them. Despite the distance, even now he would quickly resume talking to her if he knew where she was.

Wyatt's instincts however have long since taught him to flee and leave the past behind. In a situation where things could seem too much, he will often run away than face them full on unless it came to his sister; self-preservation is what he has been doing for the past several years and it has kept him alive this far. His lack of close bonds makes it easier for him to run away if the need arises. His independent attitude of relying nearly solely on himself rather than on others means that he does not often require others to help him out; but would still accept help in any given form.

One thing he is good at and loves to do is write. Writing is Wyatt's form of keeping himself alive and in a stable state of mind. When he was younger and first moved to England, he began writing a story about him and his sister travelling the world and going on amazing adventures. Later once he lost contact with his sister it changed to a darker approach of himself fighting against the world in an alternate universe he created. Even to date he still keeps his old writing and continues to write and improve and eventually hopes to release a novel.

History:
No matter how much he wished, Wyatt had been subjected to a fairly normal life; something he saw in both a positive and a negative way. He always wished that something would happen that would change the daily grind of his somewhat boring existence since he was a young child.

Born to a Canadian Mother and an English Father in Toronto, Wyatt had a fairly good start to his life; having no birthing problems and two loving, caring parents. Up until the age of four, Wyatt had been living in Toronto with his parents and later younger sister whom at the age of only a couple of months at Wyatt's fourth birthday. Wyatt took a shining to his younger sister, looking out for her as they grew older and helping his parents with taking care of her. He was perhaps the ultimate older brother, and he loved taking care of his younger sister. After the Toronto Riots, Wyatt's family moved from their home in Canada to a little town in northern Spain near the French border. Up until their move, Wyatt had only learnt French and English.

At that sort of age, the move did not bother Wyatt much, and so he adapted to living in Spain, attending school at the age of five. Around home he spoke English and French and at school he learnt to speak Spanish which he picked up quite clearly. Wyatt spent the next seven years in Spain with his family, becoming ever more so protective of his sister as he grew older; watching out for her at school and out in public. Quite often he had stepped in when she was being harassed by local boys who weren't so fond of foreigners. Not one for popularity, Wyatt made several friends while at school yet remained somewhat distant from many people. It wasn't really a problem, not until he began distrusting his friends; to them this was somewhat of a shock. Around the age of eleven, Wyatt had begun to develop and follow a different path, something inside him changed and he took some drastic changes.

His parents saw these changes, and began to worry about Wyatt. They did not know what was wrong with him and when they asked him about it, he denied anything. In order to resolve the issue, he was sent to a boarding school in England, one his father had been to when he was a kid, his parents hoping that it would help turn Wyatt in to a good person. However, the distance not from his family, but from his sister took a toll on him. For two years he refused to talk to his parents and would only talk to his younger sister, making sure that she was okay and unhurt. She missed him too and wanted him to return, but he made a promise to her that he would be waiting for her in England, and do his best.

When he was sixteen, life turned around for Wyatt. The first shock came to him when his parents rang up to tell him that his sister was attending a French Girls Academy in Southern France, a somewhat prestigious academy and although he was happy for his sister, he was disappointed that she did not follow him to England, after they had promised to be reunited in time. This fracture between his sister and himself accelerated his distrust of what people say. Because of the school's policy, he was not allowed to communicate with her for the first year, and so a rift opened up between them and Wyatt hasn't talked to his sister even at the age of twenty; they never resumed contact.

After that, one crisis followed the next. His father called him in the middle of the night to tell Wyatt he was returning to England and would be arriving the following evening. Despite inner protest and the natural curiosity, Wyatt met his father at the airport. Upon arrival, his father broke down in tears in the middle of Heathrow Airport, and after moving his father, learned that his mother had been killed in a terrorist attack in Madrid while on vacation. Wyatt shed no tears for his dead and estranged mother. His father had had a funeral before he left for England, so any hopes of meeting his long lost sister at a funeral were dashed away.

Once he had his father back up on his feet, Wyatt left his father alone at Heathrow Airport, much like Wyatt had arrived. He since turned his back on his family and refused to keep contact with them; locking his emotions away in a box. He changed his last name to 'Cale' and continued to finish his school years.

When the Atlanteans revealed their existence, Wyatt was at the age of twenty-one. He woke in the middle of the night to feel his eyes burning. Suffering in silence, he held himself together through the pain as his eyes changed dramatically with the dawning of his new abilities. Once over, he went to see an eye doctor and found that overnight he had repaired the 'Partially Colour-blind' that had plagued him for so long; now he merely wears the glasses as a gimmick and out of habit rather than anything; his ability allowing him to see clearly both with the glasses on and with them off. He soon learnt that the burning in his eyes had changed his own sight for the good, and now found himself able to switch between different visions as well as a wide array of positive and negative side effects.

Ability:
Wyatt's ability is basic at best. When focussed, his ability allows him to see through walls in some sort of X-Ray-esque vision as if the object was not there at all. The more focus Wyatt has, the stronger his ability becomes allowing him to see through denser objects and through objects further away. Without the focus and concentration, he finds it difficult to access his ability.

As a positive side effect from having his ability, Wyatt can now see clearer, further and in more colours than the normal human eye. The other side effect he has found is a somewhat eidetic memory; able to remember many details of what he perceives and an increased ability of "speed reading".

Negative side effects from using some of the more strenuous abilities are the strain that is done to his eyes. Sometimes his eyes will bleed, other times his vision might blur and not return to normal for a period ranging from a couple of minutes to days. Eventually, if Wyatt was to use his powers long enough and often enough, he could eventually lose his sight altogether; something Wyatt has come to realise as a high possibility.

However if Wyatt was to become fully dependant on his own abilities, he could easily be deceived. Relying on what he perceives and not on what he truly sees could be his ultimate downfall. To see something that is not there or to be tricked into perceiving something is not what it is, is all too easy for Wyatt to fall into the trap.

Main Information//
Name: Oakley North
Alias: Knight
Age: Seventeen (born 12th October)
Height: 157cm / 5' 2"
Weight: 48kg / 106lbs
Location: England

Appearance//
Atlantean Tattoo: Her tattoo is a set of symbols which vaguely resemble some sort of lettering which run down the inside of both of her arms.

Physical: Oakley is fair in all aspects of her body. Her long, ringleted hair with a clean and neat fringe practically glows a light blonde, her skin pale and unblemished by pimples (apart from a mole on her chin) and her face quite attractive. She is less-than-averagely tall and less-than-averagely weighted, probably a little unhealthily but that's just natural for her. Her teeth are straight (due to years of braces when she was younger) and her eyes are a golden brown, practically melting in her eye sockets. She keeps herself clean and well groomed; there is rarely food on her face or dirt on her hands. She is perfectly normal, except for the odd growth of armor on her right hand (though does spread to random parts of the body depending on the situation). Though whenever the armor grows, she keeps it in pristine condition. However, once it grows over her fingers, the tips become quite sharp and she has a tendency to accidentally scratch herself when she touches her face or arms.

Clothing: Oakley has always been partial to summer dresses, leggings and a pair of ballet flats, fit with appropriate accessories, such as an anklet, a simple necklace or a flower clip in her hair. During the winter though, she wears tight jeans and a cute top, with maybe a hoodie or a jacket. She dresses cute, simple and a little bit "classic", picking patterns, designs and accessories that seem to have come from an indie band's album art.
She used to wear her french, boarding school uniform, but graduated and moved back with her father, she hasn't touched them in some time. She tends to wear a lot of long sleeved shirts and coats to hide her ability.

Personality//
Quirky and awkward are words that are frequently used to describe Oakley, though awkward is the more honest approach and quirky is just a filler space to protect her feelings. Sure, she can talk to people fine and she has no trouble making friends and she gets along fine with her brother, but as soon as something slides from the status quo, she crumbles, she panics, she stutters, she twitches, she has a hard time trying to find the right words. If something is causing a problem, she'll avoid it until it goes away or it becomes inevitably unnoticeable, and then she'll avoid it some more.

When nothing's bothering her, Oakley likes to enjoy her life. She can be fairly optimistic when things are going well or sticking to a routine.

Whenever she's reminded of an unresolved issue, she says a few words to avoid the conversation, rubs her chin, starts to stutter and if the conversation hasn't changed yet, either excuses herself or stays silent. There have been a few situations though where conversations are unavoidable, such as when her brother moved to boarding school (in England), her mother's death and when she came home from her holiday with a broken arm (though that conversation hasn't quite been touched yet).

Oakley has a style in the way she decorates or dresses; alternative or indie would be the best way to describe it. She listens to different music and buys different furniture. She likes to be unique. Though, in today's age, 'unique' seems to be 'just like everybody else' nowadays.

When push comes to shove, Oakley would be the one to run away. Only if her loved ones are in danger, especially her brother, is when she stands to fight, though she would do less punching and act more as a human shield or distraction.

FUN FACT: Oakley has a few talents other than her knack for finding antiques; she can play the piano quite well, speaks three different languages (English, French and Spanish. English and French are her strong points and barely keep up a conversation in Spanish, but enough to do some basic translations) and is not a bad artist either.

History//
Oakley was born into a loving family; an English father, a French-Canadian mother and a brother almost four years older than her. Born in Toronto, Oakley spent the good part of her infant to toddler years playing with her older brother. He was kind, he was caring and he always looked out for her. She spent little of her life in Toronto, before her family packed up and moved to Spain after the Toronto Riots.

As she grew up in this foreign country, Oakley learned a few languages; English, since that was her "native" tongue, Spanish, since that's where she lived, and French, due to being so close to the border, her mother's Canadian backgrounds and her brother's insistence on speaking it around the house. She started school where Spanish was now second nature to her and fitting in deemed to be a little difficult. Sure, she made a few friends, no problem, but her pale skin and blonde hair wasn't exactly Spanish and some of the boys in the class above her didn't take too kindly to that, even to go as so far to harass her in the streets. It didn't take long for her brother to catch on to her problems and quickly solve them.

When Oakley was around seven and in her second year of primary school, she watched her brother helplessly from the sidelines as he changed into a different person. This bothered Oakley, as everything had changed in the world, but one thing had remained a constant; her brother. When she talked to him though, she could feel the old him talking back to her. This gave her some relief, though nothing could prepare her for what happened next. Due to his refusal to talk to his parents properly, her brother was sent to an English boarding school.

Her constant, the one thing that had kept her strong these years, had gone. Having the emotional range of a seven year old, she spent a good lot of her days sitting in a corner, crying, and refusing to go back to school. Once the status quo had been broken, anything could change and Oakley did not want to fall back into a routine, only to watch it shatter in front of her eyes again. Her parents, fearing for her health, sent her to a doctor to try and find a reason for these panic attacks. At first, they thought she had Asperges Syndrome but in the end, she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and given a year of psychotherapy and anti depressants to try and keep it under control. Whenever her brother rang from his school, Oakley never had the heart to tell him what was going on. She missed him dearly and often ended up crying after the conversation was over. But, after a year of her "treatments", her panic attacks and heavy stutters disappeared, leaving behind only traces of her ticks, ones which now only resurface in stressful situations and such.

When they thought she was ready, her parents sent her to an All Girls Academy in Southern France, despite her objections of wanting to go to her brother's school in England instead. As any interaction with him left Oakley in tears or heavy breathing (though this wasn't happening as severely after her psychotherapy finished) her parents decided that wasn't the best idea and so France it was.

At first, France was intimidating. Having to speak French all of the time became a challenge (though it didn't take long until it was second nature) and many of the girls there were snooty, high class and just generally not nice. After a while, she finally settled in, making friends and doing well in her classes. Due to some stupid school rule, Oakley was not allowed any communication with her family, especially her brother. As much as she wanted to, it probably wasn't healthy for her. But that one year strain pretty much broke the relationship; she hasn't spoken to her brother since.

When she heard news of her mother's death, Oakley came home to her father without a second thought. Her mother had died in a terrorist bombing in Madrid and when it came to the funeral, Oakley was mourning for two reasons; her mother was gone and her brother was not here. She had to return to school though, so left before she could fully comfort her father.

The next few years, she studied hard, earning top marks in most of her classes. Being away from her family for so long and hitting the peaks of teenagerhood with a disciplined mind, Oakley built some kind of independence for herself. Her anxiety was almost gone. She could do things by herself. She could live. Things were fantastic for her, built around a solid routine. She occasionally visited her father in the Winter holidays but never for too long; she would have stayed longer if her brother had come home too.

She graduated not so long ago with high marks across all of her subjects.

When the Atlanteans made their presence known, Oakley was on the bus home to London after celebrating her graduation in Ireland. At first, a pain seared through her right arm then through her entire body. At first, she thought it was just a pain from her recent lack of sleep but as her mind rushed through the reasons, ranging from growing pains to cancer, she noticed a small metal plate growing from the top of her hand. Hallucinations? Had a leaf fallen on her hand somehow? When she touched the plate and realised it was very much real, she freaked. She panicked. She went nuts. And as she stressed about it, the armor grew. It grew up her arm and hurt like hell. And as it grew, the "infected" part of her arm expanded, until it was nearly three times the size of what it usually was. After a few yelps and gasps in pain and a few funny looks from the limited number of people on the bus, she got off at the next stop and hurried to a public toilet, just as the armor grew to her shoulder and started to rip across her torso.

For the next few hours, Oakley was in intense pain but she managed to control her breathing and the armor began to recede. When it returned to her elbow, she went to her ways of hiding it; a long coat was the best she had. As soon as she left the stinky toilet, paranoia set in. Who would find out? What would they think? Was she a freak? There was only one thing she could do; go home and try and sort this out.

A material cast on her arm managed to keep her confidence up as she took the bus to her father's new home in London; the most it ever got up to was just above her elbow. He was pretty worried about her, though she didn't tell him anything, leaving him with the only explanation, "I broke my arm in three places down a flight of stairs."Though, after a few nights, her father found out about her 'ability'. He found her one morning, on the ground, the armor taking up her entire right arm and half of her body after she had awoken from a nightmare. He didn't insist on a doctor, instead using the internet to find out what was wrong with his daughter. It didn't take long for him to stumble upon the news of the Atlaneans. Then, it was all over the news.

What Oakley misses more than ever now is her brother.

Ability//
Oakley has the ability to "grow" a somewhat impenetrable armor on her body, usually on her right arm (though it does crop up on other parts of her body as well). The size, rate of growth and the form it takes all depends on her own emotional turmoil; some days she wakes up and her body is clear of it, other days she could be hopelessly sad and it has formed all the way up her shoulder and down her torso. If her emotions are cluttered, the armor grows in a distorted like fashion and some grows on random parts of her body. If it is focused and directed on one thing, the armor grows solidly up her arm. As the armor grows, up her arm, it grows in size as well. Once it reaches her shoulder, her entire arm has tripled, quadrupled even, in size. The growth can be a painful process depending on how fast it moves. Slowly, it's like an itch. When it's fast, it's as if her bones are expanding and her muscles are trying to push their way out of her skin (think growing pains and intense cramps, but 1000x worse). She can subdue her armor by calming herself (which isn't particularly easy for her) but it usually disappears completely while she sleeps, though has woken to find it grown over most of her body after a nightmare. Because she is always thinking, most of the time it covers between small plates on her fingers to halfway up her forearm.

With the armor comes super strength and defence; Oakley can lift a car with ease if her entire right arm is covered. The armor seems to be unbreakable and can withstand bullets and knives, though where the armor does not grow is not immune to any kind of attack. There are also soft spots scattered throughout her body when the armour covers, including her palm, her elbow, her neck etc. The armor is not heavy for her, since she has the extra strength with it, but it would be heavy for anybody else trying to lift it.

There are not many side effects to the armor, only the intense pain it brings when it grows and when the armor begins to cover over half of her body, she begins to forget herself and suffers from temporary amnesia. Her eyes will grow hazy, as if she's being hypnotised or is sleepwalking, and tends to act rashly and attack without reason.

Name:
Delta "Del" Mayor

Alias:
Gem

Age:
20

Height:
5"6'

Weight:
120 lbs/54.4 kgs

Location:
Poland

Appearance:

Atlantean Tattoo: It starts right under her pointer finger on her right hand and makes several twirls down her finger. The tattoo makes a straight line from her knuckle down her forearm stopping at the place where her arm bends.

Physical: Delta's hair is the main topic of conversation when she interacts with new people. On the right side her hair it is shaven down to little to no hair but the hairs that do show are dyed a dark purple almost black. The rest is styled in a comb over fashion so that it all lies on the right side of her head. This mask most of the right side of her face until Del gets fed up with it and moves it out the way. Her regular, black hair is braided into many individual braids, which end in a bead. The colors of the bead depend on the section of the hair, the front is red, the middle is orange, and the back is yellow. If she's really feeling up to it she may change the beads but it's a real time consuming commitment. A single, golden hoop pierces her right eyebrow giving her an edgier look. Two other piercing makes themselves home in her lip and nose. Her lip piercing is located on the right corner of her mouth it is a silver hoop but at the center is a small ball. Rarely seen but still there is a small, butterfly shaped nose ring on the left side of her noise. It is rarely seen because it makes Del's nose itch like crazy so she leaves it out most of the time. Delta's eyes are a shunning shade of green that could rival the beauty of the ocean. Typically people dislike looking her right in the eyes for this fact alone as if she could possibly peer into their soul. Del's complexion is a bit light than a regular, chocolate bar.

Clothing: Delta wears a black tank top that is hidden underneath a black, worn, leather jacket. Several of the pockets are missing zippers so they're open just a bit revealing the contents within. A pair of black gloves the one's that have the grips on them. A plain, black lanyard hangs from her neck with a set of keys attached to the end. One key is silver with spots of pink where it had once been painted and the other was just gold with Delta's name engraved into it. Fitting nicely are her newly "purchased" skinny jeans, which of course are black. To finish off this daring outfit is a pair of five-inch black heels. With these heels she is easily one of the tallest girls in the room. She keeps two knifes strapped to her hip, both on her left side.

Personal:

Personality: There's no doubt in the world that Delta's very confident in herself because she knows that's the only person she can rely on is herself. Her development in her abilities, the fights she's been in, and thriving on her own has lead her to be this confident and inflated ego. This level of confidence has lead her to be slightly cocky, fearless even. Delta can be a little too much to handle at times because she's a bit reckless. Somehow she has gotten in her head that she can never lose and she's nearly invincible. This leads to her being fearless as she is willing to take on any obstacle and any fight to prove to herself and to others that she's capable. Those who she sees as weak she distances herself from in a hope that she doesn't succumb to their lower standards of surviving. She's more than a little full of herself, which is too be expected in her case. Delta also believes that she can handle everything on her own. She'd rather work all by herself than deal with a team because they would only slow her down. As an independent person she knows that at the end of the day the only person you have and can count on is yourself.

Along with those traits Delta is aggressive and passionate in almost everything that she does. When it comes down to a fight she is willing to play dirty if that means that she will win, even though she knows she'll win anyway. She also has no problems starting a physical fight because Delta didn't like what the other person had to say. Especially when Delta doesn't get her way that's when her aggression really starts to boil over. When she gets her mind focused on something she becomes very much involved in it and doesn't derail from the path that's set before her. There is nothing wrong with deceiving people to her if that gets her to her goal sooner or it's just for fun, Delta will do it. It's often hard for her to follow orders down to the specifics because she has her own, albeit reckless, way of doing things. As long as she gets the job done that's all that matters to her.

Delta doesn't really have good social skills and because of this people thinks she rude. She tends to cut people off mid-sentence to say what she needs to say. Also, she has a tendency to yell at people a lot. It's not always out of anger but when it is she tends to go overboard. Delta is a very curious individual and tends to ask questions that might not be appropriate in a given situation but she'll do it regardless. One thing thing she hates is silence, especially awkward silence, so if she's the only one talking that's fine by her but good luck getting her to shut up. When it comes to dealing with her anger and emotions that go with it she's never very good at handling them. Another thing she takes pride in is her ability to start an argument and to carry that argument on for the sake of her own enjoyment. If Delta's wrong, she's wrong but she won't admit that she's wrong instead she'll twist it to her advantage. Delta tends to lash out those nearest and doesn't seem to care about the possible consequences that might come to her. This is why she doesn't have any friends, other people seem to be off-put by her attitude and personality, which is fine to Delta.

History: When Delta was a small girl her family moved to Poland from the United States to avoid something. She was never given an exact reason why they had to flee from their cozy home in the middle of the night. Her parents tended to be very secretive as if they were protecting their daughters from what they knew. Their arrival in Europe was a big hassle but one that Delta had long since forgotten except the memory of her sleeping on airport seats. Her sister, Diane, was much younger than her as she had been a newborn at the time while Delta was seven. Growing up in Poland was a strange experience, as she never really left her three-bedroom apartment. She almost never got the chance to get a formal education but if you could count her father's lessons in math. This made her envious of the kid's she would see outside her window heading to school. Sometimes she would carry a bag around to pretend she was off to school. Her parents always told her to knock it off but that never stopped her. Delta never knew her parent's occupation only that they disappeared at various hours of the day for days at a time. This left her to take care of her infant sister and grow up faster than a child should.

On occasions she would be granted permission to visit her maternal grandparents who had lived in Poland their entire lives. Delta didn't speak a lick of Polish and they knew English but they didn't bother to speak it. This didn't stop a strong bond from forming, as Delta would beg her grandparents to let her live with them. Eventually her wishes came true when her parents told her they had to return to The States and had to leave her here. They took her sister with them and they never explained why they couldn't take her. To lighten her sadness her grandparents surprised her with a real backpack with actual school supplies. Tears streamed down her face as her grandparents told her she would be going to an actual school. Though, it was a smaller school than most and it was for non-native Polish children.

Fights. Delta wasn't use to sharing with other kids and it had never been one of her strong points. Her first physical fight came two days after she was officially attending classes. When a boy grabbed her extra piece of paper to use for a drawing. After politely asking for it back and being rejected Delta took matters into her own hands. At this age she was bigger than most of the other kids and easily overpowered them. She shoved him out of his chair, kicked his chair, and then kicked him multiple times in the side. After the teacher intervened by restraining Delta to a chair while his assistant checked on the young boy. Upon closer inspection by a doctor it was determined that the kid had several bruised ribs and was in a lot of pain. No one wanted Delta to return to class for a while, not even her grandparents. She spent her break time in her grandparent's apartment moping around and sitting on the windowsill staring out at the world. Which is where she sat as she learned about her parent's death or murder depending on what you wanted to call it. Delta preferred murder because she just liked the word better than death. Her sister's body wasn't found with her parents meaning that either a) she is still alive or b) they killed her offsite. As with all news it eventually spread like wildfire throughout the neighborhood where she lived. Her parent's death was big news, as their murders to this day have never been solved.

Delta returned to her class a month later to learn that the boy she had injured had dropped from that class the day before. She sat in class fuming with anger, which lead to a fight, how typical. This time it was some girl who kept badgering her about the death of her parents. After being ignored by Delta she delivered, "You know, no one really cares about your parent's death, it's just that they're bored. And they mustn't have cared about you as you're still here. What. A. Loser" with extreme malice. Needless to say, Delta unleashed her rage with her fist and they did the action this time. The two girls were quickly separated and Delta was never invited back to another class, which was perfectly fine with her. Not so much with her grandparents, at the age of eight she had gotten into two fights within the span of two months. Fed up with her behavior they sent her to a boot camp/reform school where she spent the next ten years. When it was summer or break she would stay at her grandparent's apartment. Delta had learned to control her temper for the time being but that didn't stop her fighting. Her name was feared whenever it was mentioned, no one dare cross her path unscathed. She graduated from boot camp at the age of eighteen but even then her grandparents weren't ready to have her living in the house. They got her her own apartment that was a block away.

The mark came while she was taking a bubble bath in the middle of the night. Delta could never fall asleep so she tended to take bathes to help relax her. The burning sensation came and went; she didn't know anything had actually changed about her into she rose from the tub. Her one of her arms had become diamond-like and she could see through it which freaked her out. Luckily she lived by herself and didn't have to worry about someone else seeing her like this. For the next couple of days her arms remained like that until she was knocked unconscious and it went away. All of this came to a shock to her as she heard on the news and learned about the Atlantean race. Delta had already began working on perfecting her transformation in case she ever needed to use it.

Ability:
Crystallization

Del has an ability that is quite strange to her she can crystallize her skin into an extremely durable, diamond-like material. Through experimentation she has learn that she is not affected by fire on the places she has turned. She has not learned how to crystalize her whole body yet just bits and pieces. Making more than two of her body parts (two arms, two legs, arm and a leg) causes her to become faint and ultimately lose the crystallization. Despite her many attempts she has not been able to crystallization anything on her face, not even an ear. She not sure if this has to do with a fear she has of accidentally suffocating herself.

When in this "form" her mobility isn't affected it isn't like her skin has diamond on top of it. The opaque, green tinted, diamond material is her skin and it keeps its same weight so it doesn't burden Del too much. It does hurt if she constantly shifts from her normal skin to the crystalize skin. If it is destroyed in this form it is also destroyed in her normal form. This ability makes her more of a defensive type person because of its durability. The true strength of it is unknown but it can definitely leave a broken hand if it's punched. Though, Delta's not much of a defensive fight so she'll swing her arms at people to hit them with the hard material. Her ability has the potential to be able to not just crystalize her entire body but anything she touches. This is not a for sure thing as Del is just in the beginning of even mastering her crystallization.

Main Information:
Name: Agnes Johansson
Alias: Wingless
Age: 18
Height: 5'5" (165 cm)
Weight: 50 kg
Location: Sweden

Appearance:
Atlantean Tattoo: Sitting at the back of her neck, looking like this.

Physical: Agnes is darkly brown skinned and of the afro american ethnicity. Her body is thin but muscular and her black, fluffy hair reaches down to her waist when she lets it out. Which is not often, as it really looks like a huge, fluffy mane. Usually, she keeps it in one or two thick braids running down her back or hanging down her front side. Her face is more childish than she'd like; her nose is small and her lips are big, while her eyes are rather big and round with very odd blue irises. She cannot understand why her eyes are blue when she doesn't know a single other dark skinned person who doesn't have brown eyes, but that's just one of the mysteries surrounding her origins.

Clothing: She never wears proper pants, but rather prefers dark leggings or longstockings underneath various brightly colored tunicas. In each of her ears, she has two silver earrings; the right ear has a small crescent moon and a sun with wavy rays while the left ear has a little heart and a star. In the colder seasons, her primary footwear are black, thin boots and she wears a brightly blue trench coat. When it's warmer outside, she changes her footwear into sneakers; she has a whole wardrobe of differently colored ones to match whatever tunica she is wearing. Her most important accessory though, is her scarf. She has a huge collection of different ones and never leaves home without one around her neck, no matter the season or weather.

Personality: Agnes can be described as an imaginative dreamer who often can't sit still for too long and likes to be spontaneous and to be surprised. She is brave in most scenarios and loves the feeling of good that comes from standing up and being brave when others feel scared or sad. Without trying, she is very emphatic and always finds herself pondering what others think about things and putting herself in their situation. Dozing off is standard business for her. Despite that, she has a rather impatient side to her and doesn't like it when others are discussing things for too long or take too long time to perform tasks while she is idle. As mentioned, her mind tries to understand others without her even thinking about it, but she can be a bit too impatient to sit down and really listen to them if they want to open up to her.

When in a group of people, Agnes is likely to be one to stand up and take action, even though the action isn't completely thought through - doing something is better than doing nothing. She can be forgetful about simple things in everyday life and adding to that she is also a bit clumsy physically, something that has made her a bit infamous in her parkour club. Other sides to Agnes that are on the more negative side are her slightly irrational tendency to jealousy as well as the closely related notion that everything should be as fair and just as it possibly can; if she shares a bag of candy with someone, they should have the exact same number of candies. That way, no one has a right to complain later.

History: Agnes grew up in a tiny Swedish town on the countryside, with her trusty and warm father who taught her to be open minded and brave. When she was 13, her father died in what authorities told her was a drowning accident, but she knew that her father had been acting strange lately and she suspected that something more evil had happened. She moved to live with her mother, who she had only met a few times during growing up. She lived in the large city of Stockholm but Agnes did not want to adapt to big city life. She disliked her mother for having left her father and not wanted to take care of their daughter together, even though she did not know the whole story, had never asked her father about it and did not want to ask her mother. She discovered that she had a half-brother called Carl who was two years younger than her, but their mother had left Carl's father just as quickly as she had left Agnes' father. Only this time, she had apparently felt guilty enough to bring the child with her.

Agnes was not doing overly well in her new school, where everyone condemned her as the crazy hillbilly from the south. To get her mind off things - she did not like to be troubled and hated that she was beginning to feel depressed at times - she joined the first sports club that she could find. In school one day, she spotted a poster about a local parkour club. She started going there and even though people found her odd in the beginning, like everyone did, they soon warmed up to her when they realized that she was determined and eager to learn. Also, she already had a good base physique from having spent much of her childhood outdoors rather than in front of a TV. She was soon a regular there, since the age of 14, even though most of the club's members were aged 18 or above, and even though she was sometimes unexpectedly clumsy and had minor accidents. Which her mother of course scolded her for.

Carl was growing up to be a very typical stockholmer guy and he and Agnes pretended that they hated each other over their first four years together. But eventually, Carl confessed that he admired Agnes' individual mindset and strangeness. Agnes was bullied by the "normal" teenagers in school and mostly hung out with the "alternative" people because they accepted her, even though she stayed away from drugs and other nasty things they dabbled with. Carl, on the other hand, was as popular as a 15 year old guy could be but was not feeling secure about himself at all. From that day, they started opening up to each other and became really close friends. That was why Carl was the first one Agnes told, when she discovered her powers.

Ability: Aerokinesis.

This will mainly mean flying. Controlling the mix of molecules that constitute the important substance which we refer to as air, Agnes has the ability to levitate without wings, by concentrating hard and somehow using what feels like invisible muscles to dive and float through the air like a mix of birds in the sky and seals in the water. She does not need to flap her arms in order to move forward, but often does when she has just taken off, because it feels better and is easier to balance that way. She can levitate in any way, either by flying with her head first through the sky, or by seemingly walking on invisible platforms in the sky. The speed varies with her mood; if she is feeling down or tired, she will likely not be able to go very fast. If she is angry or scared or immensely happy, she likely flies very fast. It is also something she can train, and as such she won't be doing any supersonic speeding in the near future, rather only flying as fast as she can run with her legs on the ground.

After just one week, her ability only lets her levitate a few meters up from the floor before she looses her cool, and she has not got complete control over her steering or altitude yet. She can also suddenly loose concentration and fall from midair, not always able to get up again before she hits the ground.

Another aspect of her ability is an increased affinity for anything that has got to do with air. She will not realize this until later, though. Soundwaves became clearer to her, improving her hearing. She can sense particles in the air better, improving her sense of smell. And in the far future, she might even become able to push and pull things through manipulation of the air around her, as well as evaporate body parts, literally becoming air at times.

Writing Sample: The day was cloudy and windy on the fateful day when Agnes did something that she really should not. She was performing parkour alone. Today's trail was particularly interesting, with a lot of fences and ladders to scale across several buildings. Agnes loved trying to do pirouettes in the air while jumping; she could not explain why though. Maybe it was just the wonderful sensation of being in mid-air and for a split second not really have full control of where she was going...

She was in the middle of a run, with her pulse up and her breath panting. In front of her was a stone wall, about two meters high. She knew that she could not jump that high, but she would certainly try, because that was what she did. Tried. A smile played across her face as she took the last step before the jump and then shot off with her strongest leg. The ground disappeared from below her and she was flying through the air towards the stone wall. Milliseconds felt like minutes as an unbearable sense of freedom came over Agnes. Parkour was freedom in one way; the restrictions of the everyday townsperson did not apply to her. She could go anywhere she wanted to. But to be free from the limits of gravitation and ground, that has got to be the ultimate thing.

She reached the wall, stretching out one hand and a foot to soften the impact. Following a sudden instinct, she then pushed away again, with both her hand and foot, before she could begin falling back down. The wall got further and further away from Agnes now. One meter. Two meters... Wait. Wait.

The ground was several meters below her. She had jumped again, apparently. But... had time stopped? Why wasn't she falling down? Her mouth opened up in soundless, frozen terror as she realized that something was horribly wrong with the world all of a sudden. She was flying. In the middle of a bright, yet cloudy day, she was hanging four meters up in the air in a backalley of Stockholm. And she had no idea on how to get down.

Carl got a curious phone call a few minutes later and a quarter of an hour after that, he found himself in an alley staring up at his half-sister who was still hanging in the air without support. It took a while to make him come back to his senses after the initial shock from the sight, but then they together worked out how Agnes should move her body and steer her mentality in order to slowly float back down. The last meter, she just fell though. After having been exposed to the weird sensation of being almost gravitationless for so long, Agnes was not keen on getting up again, no matter if it was possible or not. But Carl could not drop the subject.

He kept quiet in front of their mother, thankfully, but during the evening he kept bugging her until she agreed to try again. They were in her bedroom, with Carl almost sticking his head to the floor near his sister's feet just to check if she would float up just the tiniest inch. She tried and tried but nothing happened until Carl playfully knocked her over to make her land on the bed. She did not. Instead, she landed in plain air on her back, one decimeter above the sheets. They experimented with way to twist and turn and move around in the air and by the time the sun went up in the morning, none of the teenagers had gotten any sleep but Agnes had learned to fly.

They still did not correlate this supernatural ability with the emergence of the Atlanteans for several days. Watching the news on TV, Agnes and Carl both agreed with their mother for once - all of it were lies and it couldn't possibly be that Atlanteans existed for real. Until one of Agnes' parkour friends one day when training, asked her when she got her tattoo. Agnes was shocked - she had never seen the strange trilegged marking on the back of her neck before. When she was parkouring, she did not wear her usual tunica and scarf, so that was why her friend had spotted it.

She began realizing that her flying ability - which she kept a secret when doing parkour, except for when she was alone - was an Atlantean trait. She was a descendant. Maybe her father had been too, since Carl apparently was not? Had her father known? So many questions. But now that she had an explanation, she was not afraid anymore. Carl was still suspicious of these Atlanteans and the idea that Agnes would be one of them. But Agnes herself felt excited. When the time was right, she might be able to leave her dreadful mother! She might find other Atlanteans who she could somehow live with instead. That was her hope.

Right now, she is biding her time and building up determination in order to dare to tell her mother the truth.

I think I'll reserve a spot. I may not get to it today but sometime in the week for sure. Got to finish up some school work today. :)

Main Information:
Name
Natalie "Nat" Skoleya
Alias
Arbiter
Age
17
Height
5' 4"
Weight
118 Lbs
Location
Washington, United States
Appearance:
Nationality
Scottish-American
Atlantean Tattoo
Appearing across her shoulder blades, arced blade-like shapes cross her upper back appearing to form the silhouette of wings, but instead with a design much like several swords, daggers or scythes. The tattoo's color changes now and then and even glows, but this typically occurs when her powers are active or are relative to any remotely strong emotional impulse she has at the moment.
Physical
Young Natalie is an attractive young woman with a well proportioned, cute face and locks of swirling, strawberry blonde hair that extend just below her shoulder blades. She usually has her hair rest plain down her back but may occasionally tie it into a ponytail, especially when she's out hunting. Other people often marvel over how her hair curls in spirals down her cheeks and her back, but it just so happens she was born with the gene, not needing to manually curl her hair. Nat's girlish looks can be deceiving at first glance though, as she isn't quite as petite as other girls are. Her interest in sports and athletics have toned her body, replacing some of her natural body fat with defined muscle, but she'd still have to flex to make this fact apparent. Her legs are another story, appearing surprisingly feminine but much of this is due to her large calves. Nat has enough body fat to look neither plump nor stick thin. Instead, she seems to have a pretty good balance of fat and muscle on her that amplify her curvaceous body.

Natalie is curvy in a variety of ways, such as her breasts and her rear. Her well-conditioned figure hasn't robbed her of her assets, but it would be rare for anyone to get a good look as she's quite modest with what she wears over her chest. Even so, her bust size can't be hidden by even the baggiest of sweaters. Despite her youthful beauty though, her otherwise somewhat pale peachy skin has an unmistakable blemish upon it. Spotted across her arms and legs, she has patches of flesh that appear to be burns dotting the skin on her limbs. These blackened specks are most heavily concentrated on her hands and feet for some reason, but the rest of her body from her thighs and upper arms to the rest of her body are unscathed by these bizarre markings.
Clothing
Preferring long sleeved clothes for obvious reasons, Natalie dresses very modestly. Some may say its due to her country heritage, but the reason becomes more obvious once you see her bare skin. Although she's also quite bashful and modest about her looks, most perturbing to her is the black scars around her hands, forearms, feet and lower legs. For this reason she wears soft, typically black winter gloves that mask her hands and boots of some sort, but usually these are hiking or hunting boots of some sort, ranging from a black, hide-colored or camouflage color depending on what she plans to do. Nat tends to wear pants to cover up her scarred flesh, although typically they are jeans with a few holes and worn spots in them around the knees. If she's out hunting or exercising, you can find her in dull colored sweat pants or camouflage pants ideal for hunting, but you'll almost never see her in shorts unless they're boys shorts and its really hot out, in which case she'll wear leggings or really long socks to cover up her burned flesh. As cute as Nat is, you'll never find her wearing girls shorts, short shorts or skirts of any kind, as she's far too modest to appear even the slightest amount of skin around her body, blemished or not and will probably blush profusely if you try to get her to "show off" a little.

The girl adopts the same strategy with her upper body attire. Nat warms easily, so she wears very little underneath, typically supporting her breasts with a sports bra due to her activity and a very thin white tank top over that. However, she always wears sweaters, hoodies or long sleeved shirts. No design in particular may be present, but the colors are typically dull with either her high school's team logo, some hunting brand logo or the Marine Corps logo somewhere on her clothing. However, she occasionally will wear a shirt with an animal on it, such as a bear, wolf, eagle, butterfly, or even a velociraptor. If her sweater has a hood, she tends to wear it up, causing her hair to flow out of her hood and sit on her breasts. In colder weather you can find her wearing thick, woolly snowcaps, but her favorite is the big white one that she pulls over her ears and forehead with plenty of room left for more coverage. She tends to wear baggy, concealing clothing nearly everywhere she goes, but even in intense heat Nat is hesitant to change clothing to something more weather appropriate out of embarrassment for her scorched patches of skin. For that reason she never wears swimsuits even though she used to be an avid swimmer.

To anyone's surprise, Natalie wears no accessories. No earrings, no necklaces, no bracelets, nothing at all. She even lacks pierced ears that most girls have received by the time they're her age. Nat has never really wanted them, preferring to appear as nature intended for her to look. Frankly, she's never really needed them, since she's been attractive enough to get any guy she would want. Too bad she's not very interested in guys.
Background:
Personality
Often surprising others with her behavior, she's a pretty (pun not intended) tough cookie. Natalie is known as the girl who beat up other kids, including boys even well into her teenage years. Teachers always phoned home about her and she was a regular visitor to the principal's office. Nat was, and still is a defiant, stubborn, and fiercely independent young woman. Often times, her behavior is rude or disruptive, belching loudly in class, challenging a teacher's or her peer's assertion when others would rather complete the boring lecture and leave class. Natalie has little tolerance for those she sees as ignorant or incapable of thinking, but she tends to keep her thoughts to herself until the person says something she finds idiotic in front of her. Her aggressive attitude costs her friends, even among her sporting teams, but for her, everything she does is about setting the record straight. She dislikes those she sees as destructive to oneself, but typically only if their behavior is blatant, such as smoking, alcoholic abuse, or sexual promiscuity. To many, she comes off as the town's biggest, meanest *****. For her though, it's more of a compliment, as annoying boys who'd otherwise ogle her instead fear her including the "toughest" guys. Girls just avoid her all together. If there's one thing she's not, it's politically correct. Nobody tells her what to do.

Under the surface, there's much more to Nat. Despite being a disruptive student, her grades are relatively average, but even her performance hides her true talents. When necessary, Natalie is a brilliant tactician and a calculating person, able to find an effective solution, weigh the consequences of each option, and choose the ideal solution. Her cold logic tends to drive people mad, as she's either unfazed by other's emotions, too detailed or technical for others to handle, or tends to give people options they don't like, criticizing them if they don't listen to her. Nat finds little point in applying herself in most tasks unless she sees a purpose in it, hence her average grades. In fact, she often turns in assignments late or not at all, but the work she does submit typically aces the assignment and keeps her grades from plummeting. Most subjects she feels are beneath her or are just boring, which usually acts as her trigger to act up in class. Her frustrations are dealt with after school, where she participates in a myriad of after school activities and competitive sports that keep her fit, well conditioned and at her athletic peak. Her attitude transfers over to her sports as well, playing rough with both her teammates and at games, screaming at her teammates to quit slacking or receiving penalty flags for being too rough. Natalie is very mean, and often very intimidating to those that have to tolerate her. It's not entirely uncommon for her to bring someone to tears, which tends to make her withdraw from the conflict after seeing that she might have gone too far.

However, Natalie will occasionally surprise people with stunning acts of kindness. If she sees that someone is genuinely trying their best but is struggling to fix a problem, she will lend a hand and sometimes teach them a strategy on how to improve before giving the person encouraging words. Nat doesn't like to be seen being too helpful though. She'll either withdraw from the scenario or try to act colder. If there's one thing that'll embarrass her, it's being seen as a softy or a sensitive person. Still, Nat has a good heart deep down, and will offer moral support when someone needs it, even if they don't ask her for it. Sometimes she'll even tutor classmates if they struggle with a subject, but this is typically on a whim for Nat, and she tends to help those that are bullied by others instead of the typical dumb kid with a ton of friends. She even beats up bullies, which may be ironic, but the moral inconsistency of her actions aren't always considered at the spur of the moment. Nat has a very strong moral code and even stronger opinions, and she tends to act on them to the surprise of many, even though she has already contemplated the full extent of the consequences should things not work out. For this reason, she's seen as a very reckless person, but to her, life is meant for risk taking, and you won't get anywhere without taking some chances. Worst case, she'll adapt to the consequences accordingly.

Despite her intimidating personality, Natalie holds true to her values, but this typically comes of in a far more unappealing manner. Independence is her way of life, mental toughness is her credo, and logical analysis is her lethal weapon to maneuver the cracks and falling stones of a turbulent world. She's a calculating mastermind, reliant only on herself to advance, even if her methods might make her course more turbulent then it otherwise should be. Natalie does have a huge weakness though. While normally she tends to threaten or beats up boys who try to flirt with her, those who genuinely lavish praise on her for her good looks disarm her immediately. Modest Nat will flee the scene with the speed of light, her cheeks flushing red in embarrassment. She can take many hits and any words thrown at her, but she is helpless against those who focus on her looks rather than what she has to say or is doing. Her bashfulness will even cause her to avoid the person entirely if they're persistent in their compliments of her. Fortunately, few know of her weakness and she's adamant about keeping it that way.
History
(minimum two paragraphs; up until the reveal of the Atlanteans.)
Ability
Fighting is a specialty of Natalie's. She commands the powers of negation and repulsion, able to absorb blows and throw the applied force back with greater power through the creation of a black aura-like substance that looks a lot like a black ripple pattern around the area of contact through the air. This power, when active can give her immunity from attacks by absorbing them into her skin, turning her flesh black as the object is either stopped or absorbed into her. Nat can also repel objects back towards her opponent using the same force that was used against her. In essence, she has the power of energy manipulation and force deflection. Her abyssal powers have an even greater benefit for direct combat if her foes decide not to strike at her. She can coat her body with this dark, absorbent substance, amplifying the power of anything she touches such as a weapon or her body itself, amplifying the force she inflicts on her targets. The ability is also unique in that she can absorb not only physical attacks an objects but less tangible forces as well such as fire or lightning without causing Nat harm and redirect them at will. In essence, Natalie has the powers of invulnerability through absorption and repulsion when her powers are active. You could say that her powers are like the void, which consumes anything that enters it and releases a greater, more sinister force in return.

Contrary to what it might seem, Natalie's powers do have some shortfalls. While she can become invulnerable, she is only completely immune to typical harm when her entire body is coated in the essence of the abyss. This is clearly identified by areas where her skin has changed to an ebony black color. If Nat is completely coated in her Abyssal Shroud, it also turns her hair into a dull bluish-gray slate color while her irises turn red and her sclera darken to a nighttime black. For this reason, Nat is most susceptible when she's not using her powers or only coats part of her body in her shroud, in which case striking at the unchanged regions of her body is most effective. Even so, she still has weaknesses while in her shroud. Her ranged capabilities are limited to any standard weapon she has on her or anything she can repel. For this reason, keeping your distance from her is ideal while dealing damage carefully to avoid her sending it back at you. However, Natalie's other weakness is in forcing her to absorb too much too quickly. Large explosions or powerful attacks can overwhelm her as well as forcing her to absorb a continuous assault over a period of time. If she becomes too overwhelmed, she will try to retreat or succumb to fatigue, becoming delirious, vomiting, or passing out, forcing her Abyssal Shroud to recede and leaving her completely helpless.

Overuse of her powers have also led to her skin growing dark as if her body is covered in burned spots. This had led to a series of intense surges of pain in the inflicted areas with no warning. Natalie has been unable to find a cure and for now, she's forced to cope with the fact that her body is slowly deteriorating from her powers.

Name: Nathaniel "Nate" Calaway
Alias: Vanguard
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Height: 6"4/ 193cm
Weight: 221lbs/ 100kg
Location: Egham, Surrey, London, England

Appearance:
Nationality: British-American

-> Atlantean Tattoo:
Located on his upper right bicep is a runic symbol similar to this: http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u138/Herbert_West/blacksun.jpg

->Physical:
Nathaniel is a rather large man framed with broad shoulders, standing tall with a fair amount of muscle maintaining an athletic, almost bulky build. He typically towers over others and occasionally enjoys intimidating people. His skin is fairly pale, with only his face only a shade darker when compared to the rest of his body. His full thick dark brown hair is fairly short, with only a few strands brushing across his small cold blue eyes. Nathaniel has a long and thin face to the point of nearly appearing gaunt with a few disfiguring marks. His nose has a prominent bridge, likely a result of his fair share of broken noses and his chin a small scar running across it. Nathaniel keeps some facial hair, though it is alive only in the form of dark stubble. He has noticeably long arms and legs, with an almost stocky torso in comparison. Nathaniel stands tall with excellent posture, though his posture does not carry over when he sits down, preferring to slouch.

-> Clothing:
To put it simply, Nathaniel is most comfortable in his motorcycling clothes. An avid enthusiast, his wardrobe as been built around his hobby. As a result, he is easy to put out in crowds as he almost always wears his motorcycle racing jacket. Its base is black with red and white accents on the sleeves, shoulders and torso with a small white logo on the left side of his chest. Under the jacket, Nathaniel sports a plain black shirt. However this is rarely seen as he loves his jacket more than he should, only removing it if he has to. Nathaniel favors a faded pair of blue jeans, held up by a leather belt with a silver buckle. Nathaniel's favorite pair of black leather boots are the finishing touch to his look. The boots are relatively pristine despite the fact they are quite worn, having seen plenty of action in the past year.

Accessories are not a foreign concept with Nathaniel investing in several. Chains are a reoccurring theme, with a silver chain bracelet on his left hand, another steel chain hanging from his jeans (a result of his wallet), and his personal chain, a silver chain necklace with a celtic cross pendant around his neck. He is rarely seen without his trusty black motorcycle helmet with a "Legend of Zelda" design on it and his worn old no name brand backpack with a "Sonic the Hedgehog" design eroding away. Nathaniel formally sported several piercings, but has recently rid himself of them, leaving the holes to close up on his nose and ears.

Personality:
Nathaniel is a man of honor and ideals. He follows his only personal code of justice and is fairly morally conscious, pursuing what he believes is true justice at the time. He punishes those who promote chaos or injustice, and supports those he believes are not. He believes in fairness, but understands that true justice is relative and not an absolute concept. That being said, Nathaniel pursues his own brand of justice, hoping to make the world a better place one step at a time. Nathaniel's greatest desire is to make a change in the world. At times, Nathaniel has been known to take his personal quest too seriously and be overzealous in his pursuit, not being above taking morally questionable actions. He is not one to stand down from a fight; instead he stands ready to fight whenever the situation calls for it whether it be defending an innocent, defending his dream, upholding his code of justice or when he is simply provoked into one. His overly belligerent nature influences many of actions. While Nathaniel often respects laws and authority, he does not fear challenging it when he disagrees with it or finds it to be a major inconvenience. He also questions many authority figures, falling prey to the occasional conspiracy theory. Though he generally prefers making up his own.

Nathaniel is a stern individual, taking life very seriously. He is rigid, structured, methodical, and cautious in all aspects of life. This leads to Nathaniel being strict and overbearing. He takes life one step at a time and rarely acts on instinct, relying on his intelligence to make the best decision possible. To this end, Nathaniel is an opportunist and is able to capitalize on many opportunities life gives him. He works hard and is very ambitious. He lives by cliche mottos such as "Never give up, never surrender" in attempts to make his dreams and goals reality. Every day becomes an opportunity to accomplish something and he despises feeling like he has wasted on on less desirable pursuits. This seems to have unintentionally affected his sense of humor, which while there, is not particularly "good." It takes a good joke to make Nathaniel laugh and his jokes are limited to terrible puns and the occasional wisecrack.

When interacting with others, Nathaniel typically remains reserved, however he has recently broken out of his shell. While he still prefers others to approach him, Nathaniel will pursue others in attempts to pursue conversation. He is generally polite and well spoken, and is not one to speak before carefully choosing his words. He is often quick to gain others trust because of his kind-hearted nature, but he is slow to offer the same gesture. Despite this, he is a team player and enjoys working with others and developing friendships. That being said, he likes being in control of things, having developed into a control freak. Nathaniel is a leader at heart, and strives to be one. This leads him to occasionally ignoring others' plan in favor of his own because he believes his is far better. Sometimes this arrogance proves true. Other times, it does not.

Nathaniel is judgmental as well, rarely giving those second chances, especially for those who betray him. Nathaniel also does poorly in relaxing, constantly needing to do something. He is known to be stubborn, refusing to admit defeat even in the most foolish of disputes. Nathaniel can also be disrespectful to others if he feels they have not earned his respect.

History:
Nathaniel was born in London, England but his family moved overseas to New York City when he was only 3 years old for the sake of his father opening another branch for his company. For the most part, he spent his days in the Upper East Side, as his father was an influential business man who commanded great wealth. This wealth dominated his parent's decisions from everything to their expenses to the groups they spent time with, as their aspirations were to become elite socialites. While Nathaniel lived in comfort, he also lived in relative obscurity. He had a poor social life, as he received home schooling from his overbearing and overprotective mother. He had limited time outside of his "classroom" unable to experience the outside world. TV time was limited to an hour a day and the internet was inaccessible till he was 12. Sheltered, Nathaniel's only interactions outside of his family and books were "rich" people gatherings where he mingled with children that primed for business school like he was. An independent thinker who dreamed of bigger things, Nathaniel grew tiresome of these gatherings and as he grew older and he became more outspoken and rebellious. Nathaniel yearned for a more free life and the ability to go out and explore. Eventually his parents caved in to his complaints (mostly his father who was less protective) and he was allowed to attend a public high school program at 14.

It was there that Nathaniel became more exposed to the world. The sheltered life could not prepare him for a world of chaos. Crimes happening regularly and a world that could not help itself bothered him. It motivated Nathaniel to develop his own philosophy and outlined his goals: Nathaniel wanted to help the world the best he could. He took his studies seriously, using the work ethnic that his mother implanted in him to earn high marks in school with his dream landing a job in the government.

Nathaniel had a slow start when it came to actually adapting to the world outside of his luxury apartment and his first year of high school reflected that. He was not an immediate social butterfly by any stretch of the imagination, being shy for a number of weeks. Everyday he would come home somber with his mother seeking any excuse to pull him out of school and place him back in his "elite homeschooling program." His father was more patient, ready to give Nathaniel a chance to come out of his shell. The process was slow, awkward, and challenging. Nathaniel had many failed attempts in making that first friend alienating many of his peers. Whether it was Nathaniel's own awkward approach to social interaction or the ridiculously fancy outfits his mother dressed him in is a matter of debate. But a breakthrough happened shortly before his 15th birthday when an older student approached him during lunch. His name was Nicolas. Considered by many to be a punk, a troublemaker, and an outcast, Nicolas treated Nathaniel with a fair amount of kindness and the two eventually became quite close friends.

Of course, Nathaniel's mother despised Nicolas and his father was slow to warm up to the idea but nevertheless Nicolas proved to be a steadfast friend and one that Nathaniel could rely on to help him out in a pinch nullifying Nathaniel's bully problem in a few short weeks (It helped he began going to the gym with Nicolas). In the following summer, Nicolas got Nathaniel his first job at a motorcycle shop, selling and repairing motorcycles while also teaching him the basics of "commoner fashion" and the art of picking up girls. It was an enlightening few months to say the least.

Nathaniel's sophomore (or 2nd) year in high school proved to be quite different. His new look, approach and feel for life equated to more success in all walks of life. More friends, better grades, more money. You get the idea. He played his first real video game, got his first pet, went to his first movie and so on. He even had his first girlfriend, albeit short lived, equated to two months of struggle and three months of recovery from heartbreak. His job went well, earning several raises and witness Nicolas get promoted to manager following his successful graduation from high school (with Nathaniel being his tutor to pass finals).

The remaining years went by swimmingly and his new interests began to take form. Nathaniel found a great love for motorcycles and with his saved up money purchased his first bike and began to customize it. He graduated school without much of a problem and began to attend New York University for a Law degree while maintaining his position at the bike shop, working repairs instead of sales. He moved out of his parent's apartment as well, moving with Nicolas when he turned 19. College opened up Nathaniel's eyes to many opportunities and his vision for a better world developed each and every day. However he decided he needed to see more of the world. Traveling became the only option to further cement his dreams into a growing legacy.

Upon signing up and being accepted to an exchange program, Nathaniel has just arrived in London and is ready to begin his next term at Royal Holloway, University of London with his trusty motorcycle as his only friend.

As if living in London was not any more shocking that it already was he awoke one day, with his room half frozen and his body covered in a sheet of ice. Shocked, frightened, and surprisingly not cold Nathaniel locked himself in his room for several days until he could reason with himself. His first thought was that he took a few too many substances the day before. His second thought was that he was actually dreaming. His final thought was that he was some scientific freak which would explain why his mother never wanted him to leave home. The emergence of some strange tattoo in the coming days made the third option feasible, but not likely. Instead of wondering the "whys" and "hows", he focused on obtaining some sense of control. Approximately a week later, Nathaniel was capable of not freezing things around him and control most of the functions of this newfound ability. Still it proved to be rather strenuous.

He became familiar with the lower and simple functions of his power and began to become accustomed with the upper limits of his "gift".

Ability:
Cryokinesis: Nathaniel has the ability to reduce the kinetic energy of atoms around him, effectively making things colder giving him the ability to manipulate and control ice. Nathaniel can reduce the temperature of water vapor in the atmosphere into ice and then shape or manipulate it however he pleases being capable of creating armor, projectiles, walls, or weapons, etc. Ice beams, blasts and explosions are examples of the destructive potential of his ability, while shields, armors and walls are examples of defensive properties. He can also lower the temperature in the area around him, making things "cold" in a given area around him. With a touch, Nathaniel can freeze objects as well. The true potential lies in Nathaniel's creativity and intelligence to utilize the full potential of his ability.

However, Nathaniel's skin is now permanently cool to the touch, effectively losing some of his body heat. At the same time, Nathaniel is constantly emitting a disturbing lack of body heat. Progressively, Nathaniel will have a lower internal body temperature and emit an aura of cold instead of heat. While his body will adjust with the ability, the world around him will not.

Misc: Nathaniel spends most of his time at bars drinking (anything with rum or whisky) and smoking (he favors cigars) in a social environment. He also dreams of experiencing true love like they do in the movies. Nathaniel owns and rides a motorcycle everywhere, performing his own repairs. For a reference of the motorcycle, here is a picture: http://www.motorbeam.com/wp-content/uploads/2013-Kawasaki-Ninja-650R-Blue.jpg

Main Information:
Name: James Anthony Hazen
Alias: Havoc
Age: 21
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 185 pounds, about 84 KG
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

Appearance:

Nationality: American
Atlantean Tattoo: James's tattoo is located on the left side of his neck. It is circular in shape, with eight ragged, uneven arrows extending outwards from the center. The tattoo is rather large, covered the whole side of his neck. Reference Picture

Physical: James is a fit and well-built individual, but not to the extent of being overly muscled. Many describe James more as a man with moderate muscle development, not enough to suggest that he is constantly found at the gym, but enough to know he frequents them occasionally, and at the very least watches what he eats, or exercises in some other way. He has a standard build with long legs and long arms, and a pronounced, strong appearing jaw line. James's skin is slightly tanned, resulting from exposure to the sun. His hair is a dark black and kept quite short, his preferred style. He has a little bit of facial hair, usually the outline of a beard that he trims to a certain, relatively small length. His eyes are green, but are noticeably a rather dull shade than the usually bright one found in many others.

Clothing: James wears what he would call comfortable clothes. He usually doesn't care much for style, and his clothes reflect that. He is found on most occasions wearing a plain white t-shirt. However, it is possible for him to wear a different colored one, including blue, black, or gray. These shirts often contain no logos or markings of any sort. James wears normal jeans, which are usually in blue, dark blue, or grey-blue. He sports a pair of running shoes, which he wears for comfort rather than style. On the occasion of extreme cold, James could be seen wearing a casual winter jacket, usually in plain colors of either gray or black.

Personality:

James is an interesting character. Because of the setting he grew up in, James had come to detest tranquil and peaceful environments. It is not necessarily that he hates the environment itself, but rather he had grown bored of its repetition. He found himself disliking the idea of life being so neat and methodical. Because of this, he hates when things go according to plan. He prefers when surprises and unexpected things happen, especially ones that take many people by surprise. Often he maintains a view of 'the bigger the surprise, the better'. James always seemed to be a fan of the idea of disorder, or at least the idea that things shouldn't always be so regulated and controlled. Yet, because he lives where he does, surprises don't come often, and James is often seen in a rather sulky mood, which is the one most people have come to believe is his genuine personality. He has taken to being aloof and unconcerned of much that goes on around him. One might often catch him taking a nap, or perhaps staring off into the sky, counting clouds, or other mundane activities. This is often because little else among people around him piques his interest. His lack of interest is seen by many as lethargic, but this state of mind is a result not of laziness, but rather of a point that he believes there is no reason to do so.

When in these moods, which he is quite often, he usually avoids conversing with others, preferring minimal contact with others. He doesn't demur from speaking his mind however, and isn't afraid of what he says. Because of that, he comes off as being quite blunt, some going as to say uncaring, which wouldn't be too far away from the truth too. The fact of the matter is that he doesn't care about almost anyone other than himself, at least genuinely. James understands that the most important person in his life is himself, and he will do anything he can, no matter how brazen or selfish, to protect and indulge himself.

Then, there's another side of James, one that comes out whenever he is finding himself enjoying something quite a lot. On the off chance that James becomes excited or passionate about something, he would often go to great lengths to maintain this state of enjoyment, even if it comes at the expense of others. Naturally this doesn't happen often, and if it does, it doesn't last for very long, James often getting easily bored or disinterested in things. However, if it does happen to be maintained for a while, James would be found in a quite different disposition, in which he is more talkative and louder.
History:

James grew up and lived on the island of Hawaii, in the city of Honolulu. He had lived there his entire life, never once stepping foot to another country, nor another state in the United States. His parents were typical folk of the area, enjoying the peaceful environment, and relishing in the slow, calm, tranquil life. They tended not to be dwelling people, and tried to do their best to maintain this relaxing environment in their home. James grew up in this home, and knew from a fairly early age that this wasn't the life he wanted. The idea of everything being so peaceful and quaint disturbed him, often for reasons he didn't know. He found himself uncomfortable and uneasy, as if this was not the normal state of things. Still, he was in no position to do anything about it, and thus he lived in this lifestyle. His childhood and adolescent years were forgettable, nothing remotely interesting happening during them, other than the usual experiences children and teens would often go through. James went to the local schools in the area, making some friends but never keeping them for long because of his disinterest in doing most of the activities they wanted to do. Often James found himself fantasizing about things suddenly happening around town, like a building blowing up, or an airplane crashing. Maybe an animal of some sort attacking the school. James even imagined sometimes that a car crash would happen in front of him. It was weird things to imagine, but truthfully, James wished something like that could happen. Needless to say, things of that nature rarely happened. Having one of the lowest crime and accident rates in the country, life in Honolulu was slow, too slow for James.

James graduated high school normally, and began going to the local university while also taking on a job. It was slow work, and just like the environment back home, nothing much of interest to him ever seeming to happen. He hated going to social gatherings of the university, and avoided parties and other activities like that. However, he did pick up books that interested him while at the university. In his time spent, much would be in the library, reading through whatever he found intriguing. Among these included books of fictional nature. Some that he picked up to read included Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Fear by Ron Hubbard, and Dune by Frank Herbert. James was also very intrigued by the writings of Thomas Hobbes, and his book Leviathan. It was a fascinating read for him, and one of the books that influenced him the most in his life, particularly in regards to Hobbes' identification of the state of nature as Bellum omnium contra omnes, as he put it, or "the war of all against all". Vivid imaginations of novels were apart of his daily daydreaming, but nothing ever came from them. James seemed to be destined with his dull life for the rest of his days. Or so he thought.

The day came when the Atlanteans revealed themselves to the world. To James, it was an event of catastrophic significance. He thought of the possibilities that could happen, but cursed that he was stuck in the environment he was in. That is, until his own Atlantean tattoo appeared on his neck. The following weeks were filled with James trying to figure out more about his ability, learning something new about it every day. James knew that something big was coming as a result of all of this. It filled him with renewed energy and excitement. The problem James now faced was trying to figure out if this event would come find him, or if he was to seek it out. Unsure, James continued to discover all he could about his ability, while quitting his university, although maintain his job for the moment, on the chance that he may need the money.
Ability:

James has the power of electric manipulation. He is able to alter the movement of electrons, allowing them almost any electricity based power. The power of his electricity would often depend on the electric based power he uses. A light bulb would generate about the least amount of electric discharge, while a thunderstorm, for example, is where his power is most potent. Simple powers would include the ability to generate electricity, shoot lightning, or overload a circuit. He cannot control the electric technology, only gather energy from it for an attack. His abilities are also more potent in water, and can often be devastating on a user or object.

It is also difficult for him to use electricity if there is no base of electricity around for him to use. Still, sources are often not hard to find, as many people in today's day and age have objects as simple as a cell phone and ipod which James can use as an electrical energy sources. However, there are also repercussions for using high based electrical sources, like a thunderstorm for example. James's ability taps into his nervous system, particularly that in his arms, and flows outwards as an attack. The use of higher based electrical attacks can often discombobulate his nervous system and leave his hands burning and numb. Continuous exposure to high degrees of lightning can caused permanent numbness and even loss of ability to move his arms. Furthermore, exposure to large amounts of electrical energy maintained inside of his body could potentially do damage to other parts of his nervous system, as well as perhaps his organs. For that reason, he tends not to store this energy inside of his body for too long.

Ability
Hell is how one might describe the powers Natalie wields. She can convert portions of her body or substances that she touches into a smoldering black, flame-like gas that occasionally has a dull red glow or spark fly out of it.

Okay, so, I actually really like the whole love/hate side effects, and how any kind of love can immediately cease powers, but the actual power of instantaneous death is kind of... too much! As our characters develop their abilities, I fear that your character could pretty much wipe out everybody everywhere if someone was to make fun of her hair or something.

So, maybe something a little less... death. I actually wouldn't mind turn to stone to try and keep with the hellish feel (like, if she grabbed an arm, she could turn it to stone in like 30 seconds and the entire body within 5 minutes (with a good amount of practice. At the beginning of the roleplay, everyone sucks at their powers) and the effect might wear off within an hour or 5 hours or something) or perhaps even just fire manipulation.

So yeah, I'm loving the creativity but I'm afraid your ability is just too over powered! If you need any more help, just give either me or Ichiro a hollah.

I changed the power a bit. Hope it's okay. :)

Wow, I am seriously amazed and surprised that I missed this for a whole five days before finally spotting it! Good to see it starting up again, I think I'll go ahead and reserve a spot. SU should be up late today or tomorrow. Wednesday at the very latest.

EDIT: Alright, question. Would an ability where the user could bend or sometimes even break the laws of physics be a bit OP? I found it on a wiki under reality manipulation and it seemed awesome, but incredibly over powered. I would limit it of course, but I would still like your guy's opinions on it.
