Well, I went on a gaming spree and finished Yellow, so I might as well post my final results:

I still can't believe I beat Blue with level fifties, but anyway it's off to Johto, my favorite region of all! Like with Yellow, I'll be hacking in wild Ice pokemon (One after every Gym) until I have six, I really don't like hacking but what else can you do when Ice pokemon don't show up until the end of the frickin' game!? It really sucks because they're my favorite type too...

So a big while back before this new monotype thread was made, I did start a Poison mono run in Fire Red with all I needed to be done was beating the Elite 4 and Gary. Well after time of lots of level grinding and really not wanting to do it I finally have it done. Here's the final team:



If I ever do a monotype again, I'll be picking another type.

Hey guys, glad to see there's a new owner. I was waiting for the other one to update the lists. By the way, I have been done with Fighting for a long while and have started on Poison in Kanto. Now, I am still going to do the regions in order, but I was just wondering when that would get updated. Thanks!

I started this challenge about months ago but i had problems with Blue after Misty. But 3 days ago I defeated him and I decided to post my 1st Kanto update :)

^Defeated Rival Free on Nugget Bridge (Yes.... I named my rival Free. Lockdown is the opposite of free, therefore I named my rival Free. I have logic behind everything)

^Caught Machop (Nicknamed "Nebula")
^Started to train Nebula
^I've noticed that I must trade Machoke to evolve him, and you can not trade when using a VBA.... So I must ask, can I hack the rom so that Machoke evolves at +/- Lv.42, or is that against the rules? Machop evolves at Lv.28. If there is a way to trade with VBA please tell me. (I will NOT hack to evolve Machoke until I make sure that it is ok.) <-- OK, I actually can't trade, i've tried VBA Link, but my saves are for the newest VBA, and VBA Link isn't in that version..... so the only possible way for me to evolve Machoke is to to hack. I haven't hacked the evolution level yet, I will wait for an answer.

^Got to Lavender Town (Creepiest place in the whole game.)
^Grinded Nebula until Lv.30 (Evolved in the process)

^Set out to find a Poliwag (For Poliwrath)

^Defeated Erika
^Made my way through the Rocket Hideout in Celadon
^Got the Silph Scope
^Went back to the Pokemon Tower
^"Saved" Mr. Fuji and got the Poke Flute
^Awoke a Snorlax, and 1HKO'ed it.
^Headed to Fuschia City
^Got Surf
^Got a Nidoqueen to use as an HM Slave (Surf)
^Tried to Surf..... need another Badge.
^Took on the Fuschia Gym
^Lost to much, so I decided to train like crazy.
^Grinded SuperNova and Nebula to Lv.50 (STILL haven't found a Poliwag....)
^Lost again to Koga.....
^FOUND POLIWAG
^I now have Poliwrath and Machamp (Figured out how to trade on VBA!!)
^Defeated Koga. Back on track now!

^Using a Pidgey as Fly Slave
^Got to Saffron City
^Went through the Fighting thing and got Hitmonlee (Cataclysm)
^Grinded and grinded and grinded Cataclysm to Lv.50 (Took FOREVER)

I can't say for sure when I'll have everythig up to speed. It would be inefficient for me to dig through every post in this thread looking for people who have completed the challenge, so I'm asking people who have finished to PM me with a link to your completion post. I'll probably skim though the last 5 pages or so for my initial update. Though it will take me a while to do that even. Just be patient, and in the mean time enjoy the challenge!

Necrum something I didn't see addressed in the rules: Can I hack in pokemon of a certain type as long as they are accessible in the game?

Also, I know you say legendaries are not allowed, but what about Semi Legends, Like Latias/Latios? Regi's ect :S

I actually did address hacking pokemon. Look again. As for your so called semi legendary pokemon, they still qualify as legendary. If you look on any Pokemon website like serebii or bulbapedia, all of those pokemon are listed as legendary. My official guide book says the same thing. So no, they are also not allowed.

I notice the rules don't actually specify whether or not I can hack in my team as long I stick to the type and pokemon from that dex, All it says is if I can't get it before the 3rd gym.

If you can catch Pokemon of your type, you should. Pokemon should only be hacked in if necessary, since this isn't the kind of challenge where you make a very specific team, you only need to adhere to a certain type. I have adjusted the rules to reflect this decision.

^Found Lostelle being tortured by a Hypno..... of course, why is it ALWAYS Hypno that is torturing or scaring little girls in these games?!?!??!

Burgh was Surprisingly easy

Start from the beginning eh
so i Soloed up to After Cheren with Tepig then got my friend to Trade a Level 1 solosis (with a jolly nature AKA the worst one possible for solosis) but i struggled on and beat trainers then swept Roxie and surprisingly swept burgh (he Never used any bug moves) then i caught a Gothita outside of nimbasa and Grinded it a bit before Sweeping Elesa
