The Alternate World idea sounds really cool.
The real-world aspect of it is interesting, and could be used many different ways. It already makes for a unique hook to the story, and could provide a different perspective on the Pokemon world, since it's from an 'outsider'.
And the Pokemon Detective part, solving cases, seems like it could be really fun, because you'd be getting involved in people's lives and problems and have a very good reason for it.

The malicious pick-up item sounds interesting. It reminds me of when you'd find items in the old Pokemon games and they would be Voltorb or Electrode, and it was very surprising.

I'm not going to say too many on something already existing buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut there is. So anyway me and a couple of friends have started making a game and we wanted some community input. SO here is we begin

Protagonists
The first hero you see is Tarottorida and she is a nice young teenager around 18 she had left her foster parents house to the big city to earn some money. Unfortunately when her business doesn't go to well and the landlord asks her to pay up she runs. Anyway her weapon is Tarot cards hence her name.

Our second hero you meet is Jensen and the only male hero funny enough he is a touring pianist and he is walking in the street when Tarotto bumps in to him and they both go sprawling and his weapons are a keyboard and an axe

The next hero is Mayu and you wouldn't call her much of a peoples person. Yeah after her legs got cut she was made robotic legs by some scientists and then getting put into suspended animation will do that ya so yeah. You meet Mayu in an abandoned lab and free her from suspended animation. In all sense her main weapon is her new robotic legs

Ah the biggest cheese of all and I mean that job wise she is a bloody GOD!!!.... That had fallen from grace due to the trickery and arrogance of Loki and Thor respectively, anyway you meet Lotti in a pomegranate grove unconscious. Her main weapon is a massive that can control the four basic elements

And finally the biggest ham and I mean if we let her she would probably the entire background hmmmm tasty. Anyway I can't really give much info on HER (yes really that's her name) except her weapons which is stuff like falling pianos, ten ton weights, rainbow lasers, surprise howitzer. (sorry)

Story
Well the story is a bit basic on the surface Loki like in The Avengers minus the aliens plus mythical beasts wants to destroy the collecting a eight pieces of a crystal to imprison him blah de blah de blah. Along the way you will be helping people with their problems

So, I'm a big fan of board games, and I always like it when games take influences from them. Recently it got me thinking about a board game-ish pokemon game. It would be a full pokemon game that would take anywhere between 4 to 8 hours to complete. In my mind it would be playable by multiple people at the same time, in a turn based way. Towns would be a one square space, and you would get different options as to what you want to do there, like shopping or talking to NPC's. Routes would be multiple spaces, and if walked over you will get an encounter a turn, or a trainer battle if you end up on such a space. Once you have had that, you can do some activities on a square, as talk to NPC's for maybe the start of a quest or get some info. These would be semi-randomised. The goal would just to be the first to beat the elite four and the champion, and these quests would make small random storylines to liven the game up. Because the area's are all smaller and encounters are done by events, the game could scale to your level, and gyms could be done in any other. Of course they would still have a certain level, so that you need to be a certain strength to win a badge.

I think this idea could be very fun, and I'm all for working on it, if other people are interested. I'll write and draw some better concepts to show off.

EDIT: So I made some simple pictures to show off the concept. There should be a text overlay, but I'm too lazy to put that in, so the text is included under the picture.
Spoiler:

No text, just a showcase.

It's Player 1's turn! Let's roll the dice.

Player 1 rolled 2.
-
A wild pokemon appeared. (Here follows the normal pokemon encounter system. No pic made.)
-
Choose an action - Search around
- Open Bag
- Check Pokemon
- End turn

Youngster Joey challenged Player 1!

Where should Youngster Joey be put down? (Because PvP is basically undoable on a single pc, the players can move trainers they beat to annoy and block other trainers.)

Youngster Joey Challenged Player 2

Red spots are town, and give the player the ability to challenge Gym leaders. If you lose, then you can't challenge him again that turn.

Alright, time for me to see how people take to....................
Pokémon Redemption
Lore: There was a time when Pokémon and Humans lived in peace, without fear or hatred. Arceus created these two species as separate halves, the Humans having their complex minds, and the Pokémon having their amazing powers. Neither species would truly be complete without the other. However, this all changed when a single Human, driven by unknown motives, waged war on the world. Using near infinite resources, and an army rumored to have spawned from the Distortion World, this lone Human struck hopelessness into all who opposed him, with the exception of only one. The single rebel, known by history as the Ancient Hero, faced the Human in a battle to the death.............and lost. Arceus soon decided that he had seen enough, that the only way he could save the world he created was to destroy it. The Human was forced to watch as his entire species died before his eyes before being killed himself as punishment for his actions, thus forever being remembered as the Last Human. Before long, Arceus had created a new world, filled with a solitary species bearing traits from both Humans and Pokémon. With luck, the old catastrophes will never happen again............

Story: Celebrating the 1,000th year of the world's rebirth, the denizens of the world are living harmoniously amongst themselves. However, a young male named Shade is having dreams of a strange creature with black fur and yellow rings. The village elder keeps telling him that the dreams have little meaning, but after meeting an odd woman that looks suspiciously like the ancient Pokémon Gardevoir, the dreams have worsened. Is Shade losing his mind, or is he destined for something beyond what he's always known?

Right, so I've had a game in mind for a while...

It's your typical Pokemon storyline with 2 Main Regions and one Mini Region.
Like all Pokemon games, the focus is challenging the Pokemon League. However no badges need to be won and winning the League isn't a necessity.
It's all about getting enough money to pay entrance into the league, so there will be different benefactors looking to help fund your challenge.

A few side storylines I've got in mind :
A Team Rocket eqiuvalent(not named as of yet) and a Pokemon Breeder both looking to catch Mew. (Mewtwo involved)
A pair of Pokemon detectives on the trail of Pokemon Smugglers.
An organisation looking to control all Pokemon Battles in the regions.
And for the outlandish, a time travelling Pokemon Trainer that helps out on the odd occasion.

I also want the game to be very decision orientated. Giving a lot of options as the player goes on and each effecting the gameplay, whether it be big or small effects.

What you guys think?

Money mattering would be cool!

Time traveler is kinda of left field. But I like the idea of making factions/jobs.

Criminal: The Evil Team.

Cop/Private Eye: Be an apprentice for the two detectives.

Controllers: A Ace trainer type program. They want to regulate trainers, impose strict rules, regulate the strength of teams. But they need a majority of something, like a ruling council based on the region's top trainers. Maybe the E4 is that council? So they have a program to make the best of the best and you get in. Endgame choice is voting for or against them.

All three have their own quest lines/ways to earn money.

Decision oriented? Sounds kinda neat. And not needing to win badges? Time travel? GENIUS!!!!!!!! Too bad my idea doesn't get this much attention..............................

Cool little side story
So my rule when choosing pokemon to use in a game is only use dual typed pokemon for more stab options. Its the only reason I never use eve forms. SO i was thinking. What if someone made a little side story in a hack where team rocket or whoever was experimenting on useing two types of stone on an eve at the same time. Of coarse it wouldnt be that evee it would simply evolve into one or the other, so they harness the energy of the stones and fuse two types together. Then the evee doesn't react so they genetically alter evee slightly so that it can. boom, dual typed evee evolution. And of caurse once you defeat them you find they left some altered stones and a genetically altered evee and you rescue it and take the stones. Then, since only 3 or them evolve from stones normally you have only 3 dual typed stones to use on it. fire-electric, water electric and water-fire.

The time traveler is to take a bit of seriousness out of the game. Also, thought of using him to introduce Gen 6 Pokemon.

My idea for the the Evil team and Pokemon breeder is to have the breeder child be your rival/friend, then depending on which you help attain Mew, your rival will pick the other team and be your final battle at League.

Then maybe have a few mini Pokemon Tournies hosted by "Controlling Company" with very strict rules.

Thanks for feedback

So while I was at work on my break, I decided to get RPG M XP and do some experimenting. After a while, I made a half-completed script for a fan game. They will be called Pokemon Granite and Andestite, and the sister game (Like crystal, emerald, or platinum) will be Diorite. For Granite, the legendary will be Moltres, for Andestite, I will be Zapdos, and for Diorite, Articuno. The three starters will be Smoochum, Magby, and Elekid, and Jynx will get a fake-mon evolution through a Freezerizer, compare to an Electarizer (is that it) and a Magmarizer. Ditto will play a major role, disguising itself as either Zapdos or Moltres in their respective games and confusing the player as a boss. HMs will be removed, and TMs will be accessible through a TM(TM) player, where at a hotel or someplace with a television you can click the TV and ask if you would like to use a TM. A TM player will be able to be obtained through saving someone (sort of like how you got the bike in B/W) because the guy said he wanted it for his Wobbuffet but Wobbuffet didn't like the TV. ( ) The game will contain all Pokemon up to gen VI, all megas, the two primals, and if gen VII comes out before I am done and there is some promising Pokemon in that roster, I will add them in as well. I have a lot more ideas, and feel free to add to what I have here.

Thanks!

At first, I wasn't super in love with the idea. But that's just because I got the broad info of what the character was trying to do. The character is trying to gain money to go to the Elite Four. Nice touch, having money being the limiting factor rather than gym badges. Makes it feel more 'real' like in so many ways. But I wasn't just taken by that. It still felt like the traditional formula for all pokemon games. Become a master! End game.

But...your side stories were amazing. Poke Detectives tracking smugglers and a time traveling trainer who pops up here and there to help--or maybe even hinder the adventure along the way--yeah, that did it. It made it feel more like an adventure. So maybe when you propose the game, build it more like a story/adventure? Oh! Like a blurb to a good book. It gives you a taste of what's to come, while leaving you with questions of what's going to happen. That's just how I would approach it. Regardless, I think you have a great idea overall :D. I'd love to test it for you as you create it, if you need someone to!

I'm not sure if understand the story. Here's what I'm getting from it (tell me if I've got anything wrong): due to a war waged by a man, pokemon and humans were destroyed and replaced with a species containing similar attributes to both of them. One of these species is having dreams, probably prophecy type dreams, and meets a woman that reminds him of Gardevoir. Is that right? Or did I seriously misunderstand something? If I'm right, I'm a bit curious as to how you're going to approach the battling system without pokemon to do the fighting . If I'm completely wrong, which is possible, I'd love to hear what you meant .

Sorry but nobody will read a big wall of text like this. You should create categories, breaks in the text, so it's easier to read.

This is something I've been working on sporadically over the past couple weeks. Sadly, I'm just an idea man and would need help from artists and coders to get this thing going. If anyone would like to collaborate with me on this, that'd be awesome, just shoot me a message on here. So here it is, Pokemon Daybreak/Dusk. Below is a very rough story outline, a listing of over 100 new Pokemon with descriptions, and the new region of Belasi which is based on Russia, Canada, and mountainous/tundra regions in general. Hope you enjoy (there's A LOT)

Story:

Main character as actually being 18 rather than 10. Parents were actually elite Pokemon thieves in Team Tranquility, a group seeking to create peace through stealing and using the powers of Telmagius (the Judge Pokemon), Feledus (the Peace Pokemon, mascot of Daybreak), and Faraden (the Conflict Pokemon, mascot of Dusk). Team Tranquility actually governed most of the region for a long time, but the leader, now Prof. Magnolia (the game’s Pokemon Professor) ultimately saw the error of his ways and worked to take down the team he’d built up. After Team Tranquility was defeated, a tribunal (Magnolia, the eventual Elite Four, and eventual first line of Gym Leaders) aided by Telmagius sought to rule on who was actually unjust in the team.

The protagonist’s parents are among those deemed unjust and locked up. The protagonist’s opposite gender sibling was becoming a prominent trainer but had to come back to run away with protagonist when the protagonist was only a couple years old. Now the protagonist (we’ll label them P to make it shorter from now on), is ready to go on their own journey. A rival is made from the hometown, a stuck-up character of the same gender who is aware of the crime of P’s parents and thus considers P to be a villainous person as well. After the fourth gym, P discovers their sibling has resumed their Pokemon League challenge and is gunning for the Champion as well.

Eventually, P runs into two rival teams. Team Clarity seeks to capture Feledus, while Team Wrath seeks Ordex. Their plan is to use their respective legendary’s power to draw out Telmagius in order to capture Telmagius so they may be the judges of the world. A third team works behind the scenes, the new Team Tranquility that has been remade by Magnolia to stop Wrath and Clarity and to try and show Telmagius that it doesn’t have to be a judge of fate anymore, that humanity is redeemed and can safely make its own path. This would prevent others from seeking Telmagius’s power, and Telmagius could be free to be a Pokemon.

P helps to bring down Wrath and Clarity and finds that Clarity is run by P’s father, and Wrath by P’s mother. Seeing P working to stop the parents, P and the sibling are redeemed in the rival’s eyes. Besting the teams and either battling or capturing the unleashed legendary, Telmagius appears and, seeing the redemption and heart of P, sees that humanity can make its own way through the world, and renounces its powers of judgment.

After bringing down the Teams, P’s parents see their child has moved past the judgment placed on them, that P is redeemed, and they decide that their plots and conflict have been wrong this whole time. Telmagius sees a new light in them, and redeems them as well. However, the parents know they are destined to be locked away again and flee at the last moment.

P goes on to face the Elite Four only to find that the rival and sibling have done so first. All three wait outside the Champion’s doors and decide only one should go in. P faces the sibling before having a final battle with the rival, their first as friends. P then enters the Champion’s room and finds that Magnolia has gone back to defending her title. In a climactic battle, P bests Magnolia and Telmagius appears before them. Telmagius, now basically being a regular Pokemon, desires to have an owner and a journey/life of its own, and wants to challenge P to a battle and to possibly be owned by P. Succeeding in the battle, P becomes the Champion but goes on a journey to try and locate the missing parents. One year later, P locates the parents, battles them again, and convinces them to serve their sentences. Upon returning, P finds out that the League instigated a rule that if the Champion doesn’t field challenges after so long, they lose the title. The rival has taken the title and a new challenge through the newly beefed-up gyms and Elite Four awaits P.

The Belasi Region:

The Belasi region is part of a continent and is very northern. Being based off of Russia, Canada, and places in the US like Alaska, West Virginia, and Montana, it’s a mountainous region with several areas being snowy. It’s a region notorious for being one of thick forests, brutal tundras, and rugged terrain. As such, there are a great deal of ice and forest-themed Pokemon, as well Pokemon who have adapted to combat these environmental challenges. The protagonist’s hometown is actually where the Championship is located, with Victory Road being a sealed off path through the mountains to the highest peak in the region. There’s also a giant lake to the west which houses a city with a Gym, and a small patch of desert to the very south with another.

The Pokemon (102 so far):

• One starter line as a fire snake that is Poison-Fire type. Starts off as a small red snake with yellow eyes and bands on its body (Slithinge), then a larger snake with small tubes on the side of its head spewing out small cinders and purple smoke (Smosinge), and finally a huge Red snake with smokestacks on the side of its head creating a purple-fiery cobra hood (Vifinery). Good all-around stats.
• A two-stage Ground-type Lynx with first form being called Lyarix, and the last being Lysandrix. Light brown with darker brown bands in its fur. White on the inside of its lynx ears with black tips. Has pink eyes. Apart from Ground and Normal type moves it can also learn moves like Calm Mind, Confusion, Bite, Crunch, and Aura Sphere. High defenses. Mascot of Team Clarity. Only found in desert around Oasis City.
• A two-stage wolverine that is Dark-Electric with Wolwatt as first form and Volterine as the second. Wolwatt is a small quadruped with black fur that has brown lightning patters on its back, a brown underbelly, and brown eyes. All these things, except the underbelly, become yellow with the bipedal Volterine. Could learn all the Fang-moves and even X-Scissor. Would have very high attack stat. Mascot of Team Wrath.
• Bantove, the final in a three-stage Ghost-Fire evolution. Would be a black smoke being with huge claws and a screaming face made out of glowing embers behind the smoke. Chest looks like a furnace with the same glowing embers as the face. Sweeper with high attack and speed.
• Cindrex, final in a three-stage Fire-Dragon line. Hulking bipedal dinosaur-like Pokemon with huge hands and claws that has a glowing fire under its ebony-colored skin that also creates its eyes and huge, massive-teethed mouth. First two forms are smaller, less fierce looking versions (Firex and Pyrex). Psuedo-legendary with 600 base stat total. High attack, defense, and special attack stats. 90 HP, 121 Attack, 100 defense, 119 Sp Attack, 90 Sp Defense, 80 Speed
• Boltwhal, final form of two-part Water-Electric line with first form being monotype Water (Drilwhal). A narwhal with a drill-like horn acting as a lightning rod. Would be blue with beige bolt patterns going down its sides from its horn. Good special attack and defense.
• Dagasp, Katasp, and Naginasp. Line of Dark-Bug wasps with bladed stingers. Powerful sweepers like Bantove, learnset with high-crit chance moves like Night Slash, Slash, and X-Scissor. Dark brown in color with shiny, narrow, pupiless black eyes. Naginasp with long abdomen and stinger that resembles a Naginata. Popular with Team Wrath.
• Telmagius, Dark-Fairy legendary. Bipedal with thin, footless legs and long arms that drape before the hands like its wearing a white robe. Has scales on its back. Has power over the fortunes of people and Pokemon. Judges them to see whether they will have good luck and good things in their life, or if they will have bad luck and misfortune.
• Whirlerstrike, a Grass-Fire Pokemon at the end of a three-stage line. Based on whirlygigs and helicopters. I've had this idea rolling around in my head for the better part of two years and within the last few months I've been taking steps to actualize it. This is a series of three games (Pokemon Sepia/Ink/Rainbow). It takes place in the past, specifically a feudal japan-esque era, so there are quite a few technologies absent (Pokedex, pokemon storage system, pokecenters, pokemarts); however, the functions they served still exist, just through different mediums.

The story goes like this: you are a student at a pokedojo (the precursor to pokemon gyms) and it is time for you and your two siblings (the three of you are triplets and your siblings are your rivals) to advance to the next stage of your training: travel the region, defeat the masters of the other dojos earning your right to face the elite four, defeat them and be granted permission to pay homage to the three sage pokemon (the primary legendary trinity of this series). along the way, you uncover a plot by a hidden clan (the clan varies depending on version) to unleash an ancient pokemon of corruption from a shadow dimension beyond time and space and use it as a weapon to take over the shogunate. It is your destiny to stop this from happening.

Some features of the game:
Spoiler:
-a new region. The Kansai region (based off of the actual Kansai region of Japan) features several mountain ranges, thick forests, coastline, a large lake, and river valleys.
-You battle alongside your pokemon. Your character can level up and unlock skills from three different paths (Martial, Chi, Stealth) to lend your strength to the fight, which means...
-Other trainers will fight alongside their pokemon. Foe trainers will also have a specialization based on their trainer type.
-Generation 3 pokemon (mostly*) as well as several new pokemon (currently around 40, 9 of which are new eevee evolutions). *Not all pokemon from the first three generations are available (notably, Porygon, Porygon 2, and fossil pokemon). Additionally, the occasional pokemon from later generations are included.
-your starter is one of 17 fully evolved eevee types (all types except ghost and the two new types)
-two new pokemon types (Bone and Blood)
-a comprehensive side dungeon that contains a rare pokemon and special move tutor.
-11 (all new) legendary pokemon. The three sages (Amaterasu[fire/psychic], Susanoo[electric/fighting], Tsukuyomi[water/dark]), the corrupter (Ourochi [has three forms: anima [dragon/ghost], soma [dragon/bone], and lazarus [dragon/blood]]), and the four season pokemon (Seiryu [dragon/grass], Suzaku [fire/flying], Byakko [steel/normal], Genbu [water/ice]), the three cursed pokemon (Darkula [blood/dark], Vampyro [blood/fire], and Frostferatu [blood/ice])
-a new god pokemon of space travel, Tobibito (ghost/psychic)
-shadow pokemon (only for a period of time within the main story)
-elaborated time features (Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night) and seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) which affect pokemon availability and map accessability
-chinese pokezodiac which gives the main character varied bonuses (similar to the elder scrolls series)
-nature spirits. what you pick as your starter affects the spirit that you carry with you which gives the character another bonus.
-a travel companion. remember how there is no pokedex or pokemon storage system? this character will replace both of those features which means no more needing to visit a pokecenter to exchange pokemon :D
-aprikorns are back! remember kurt from gen 2? his craft may have been a dying trade during his time, but in the past, pokeball smiths are in almost every town and city, necessarily so.
-unreal time. due to several features depending on time, it would be a bit of a bummer to have to wait 6 months to access something, so time passes much faster so that you can experience all the wonders of changing seasons.
-classical japanese renditions of pokemon music. Taiko drums, kotos, shamisens, shakuhachis, etc.
-yokaimon side quests. unlock special "monster" pokemon which are shiny versions of regular pokemon with an enhanced moveset.
-new enemy teams (clans). Shikotsu, a bone-type user clan. Namashi, a ghost-type user clan. Gyuuketsu, a blood-type user clan.
-you have to earn your HM's. no more freebies. if you want to illuminate darkness, cut down trees or cross the ocean, you've got to do the right side quest.
-never forget a move. change your pokemon's moveset whenever you want (outside of battle) using any move they have acquired.

That is the gist of it so far. The main story line is complete, but I don't want to give too much away in case this ever is fully produced.

Below is a rough draft of a topographical map of the Kansai region with routes, towns, and other notable places marked.

Quick Intro:
Welcome to the newly discovered region of Reveran where everything is bright and sunny and all of your dreams will come true... If only that were the case. The newly inhabited region still has many secrets and mysteries to be unveiled.
Plenty of species of pokemon live on the island and are studied daily, seeing if the region has had any adverse affects on them.
New travelers come to the region daily by the boatload hoping to make a new life. Some are good, some are bad.
Natives of the island have switched over to the city life, but their old colonies still remain set in stone causing conflict between certain territories and more.
An organization is forming in the hopes of finding the secret to the region. They're building an army and using all means necessary to figure out the secrets of the whole planet that may be hidden in this long forgotten region.
It's up to you to decide the fate of the region. The impact of your choices have never been greater.

Info:
18 Gym Leaders, E4, etc.
721 pokemon
Original Region and Characters
Various towns, cities, territories and colonies to explore.
Custom Megas (Don't worry they won't be garbage... or at least not complete garbage)
Demon pokemon and Divine pokemon.

Here are the five Colonies
Theran: The biggest of the colonies and most modern of them.
Solemn: A religious colony that has stuck to its roots
Draknid: A colony slowly making its way to modernization. Home to various amounts of mythical pokemon.
Vyrn: A singular island nation with very little of note...
Lark: Another singular island with little to note... Except for the fact that it is the home of the Elite 4 and Champion.

I have multiple story points planned out that I would only really tell people working with me, because where is the fun in revealing my whole story here? Anyway have some characters:
Spoiler:

Ernest: Blonde, Age 17, White, Male, Blue eyes. The son to a rich family who has just moved to the region of Reveran, hoping to start a new life as they run from a dark past.

Kara: Dark Hair, Age 17, White, Female, Green Eyes. The daughter to a rich family who has just moved to the region of Reveran, hoping to start a new life as they run from a dark past. Basically the other gender :V

Cam: Dark Hair, Age 17, White, Male, Green Eyes. Short for Cameron, Cam is the son of a gambler who won it all and moved to the region of Reveran hoping to start a new life and hoping to strike it rich. Prefers the luck over skill kind of style and gambles big much like his father.

Lizzy: Dark Hair, Age 15, Black, Female, Brown eyes. Daughter of the Queen/Champion and King/Gym Leader. Despises the high society and royalty life and is taking on the league challenge in hopes of finding out who she really is.

Pyrr: Red Hair, 22, White, Male, Red eyes. The fire leader of Reveran. Can be a little hot-headed and quick tempered. Believes all life was born from the flames and made one by the light it created. Says he follows the flames that guide him on his journey to enlightenment and success and was lead to become a gym leader.

Michael: Dark hair, 36, Black, Male, Brown Eyes. Father of Lizzy, King of the region, Royal Knight and high ranking gym leader. Leads the people of his region in hopes of stopping the turmoil between colonies. Will do whatever it takes to protect his region, his kingdom, his home and most importantly, his family.

Gerald: Blonde, Age 27, White, Male, Green eyes. The head scientist of the region. Runs the main lab located in Colony 1 and is trying to study the land of Reveran, but may be digging a little too deep...

Sal: Green hair, Age 19, Tan, Female, Blue Eyes. A native of the region before the masses moved in. Lived with her old tribe who have since moved on towards the city life, but still squabble over territory. Knows the region like the back of her hand and can tell you about anything from the places, to the landmarks, to the history.

Hobbes: Black hair, Age 20, Tan, Male, Blue eyes. He has arrived from the region of Unova to study some of the natives and their heritage and hopes to learns all of their history in the hopes of ending the conflict. However he isn't too good at his job, and his ignorance may just get him into deeper trouble than he may think possible. He is very hasty and often mixes his facts up and isn't liked much by Sal.

Sir Petrus: Dark hair, 31 years, White, Male, Blue eyes. He is the lowest ranked gym leader and he is proud of it. Being the normal type gym leader is no easy task, what with all the diversity it holds. However, many assume normal types true potential lies within their final forms. Petrus disagrees with the variety of Normal types he'll bring into battle against your character. He displays great prowess and knowledge of the type on the battlefield despite being considered weak amongst others. However he has one downside. He is a rich, snooty, and arrogant one, living in his mansion. What else do you expect from a rich man?

Ire: Blue hair, 48 years, White, Male, Blue eyes. Leader of the nation of Solemn and a dictator in every sense of the word. Came to power after the previous leader had died 3 years before. Has enforced harsh laws upon the citizens and wishes to enslave the other colonies in the hopes of converting them to the light of his religion.

Lady Solana: Purple Hair, 25, Pale, Female, Purple Eyes: Daughter to a rich family who has since claimed the fortune and business after her parents passed. Her sister ran away in jealousy of her sister, when in fact, Solana had always been jealous of her. She blames herself for her sister running away and follows her example by becoming a gym leader. In secret, Solana steals money from her own business and gives it to those residing in the alleyways, homeless and scared. After bonding with the many people and pokemon in the alleyway, and in remembrance of her sisters last words to her before she ran, she became the poison type leader.

Dr. Parks: Blonde, 32, White, Male, Brown eyes: The electric gym leader and top scientist of the island Vyrn. He hopes to make the island more notable (As I said it has little of note) by creating a mechanized helping and working society. He leads the project in the hopes of modernizing Vyrn and making it a safe place for all. However something is off about him. He may in fact have a screw loose and may want to lead the whole world into this safety he wants. In order to do this he creates his own personal assistant and AI the Global Protection Defence Juggernaut or Jugger for short.

Jugger: No hair, Age unknown, Silver body, No gender, Red eye: The AI created by Parks to defend and help those in need. Unfortunately not all robots are without their flaws. He still has kinks in his system that Parks is yet to even find and can sometimes short out for no reason. He also serves as the backup leader for Parks in case he is ever out on an errand.

Jeremiah: White hair, 62, White, male, grey eyes: The ice leader of Reveran. Lived a cruel, cold and unforgiving life. His birth parents were killed at age 3, he was abused by the adoption center that took him in and was abused by his adoption parents. Was chastised to no end in his lifetime. He has since isolated himself from society and is one of the hardest gym leaders to make contact with, let alone see in person. Often ends peoples league challenges as he is nearly unfindable...

Douglas: Black hair, 15, white, male, brown eyes: Child who belongs to the orphanage. He was taken in after his mother died during his birth and his father gave him away. Training pokemon is his only passtime, but he must do this in secret as pokemon aren't allowed to be used outside orphanage grounds for orphaned kids. Each orphaned kid gets exactly 1 hour each day to roam the city if needed. Douglas is madly in love with Lizzy and would do anything to impress her, despite his status and the conditions he faces.

Byrne: Black hair, 42, Tan, Male, Blue eyes: The current tribe leader of Theran and a low ranking gym leader. Care taker of Sal after her parents left on a mission into Solemn and never returned. Specializes in the bug type and is skilled in the art of stealth and camoflauge as he prefers a non-violent life style. Would protect Sal over his village as it was her fathers last request.

Drakon: Blue hair, 19, Black, Male, Red eyes: The young new leader of Draknid and one of the highest ranking gym leaders around the region. Is forced by his heritage and roots to use the Dragon type as it is the strongest type and will help him defend his people in their time of need. However he wishes for change. The colony is being split into two: Those who want change, and those who don't and Drak is caught in the middle trying to piece them all back together.

Paola: Black hair, 30, White, Male, Brown eyes: Short for Paola L. Enranged (An anagram for Edgar Allan Poe ) A raving poetic lunatic who lost his mind sometime between becoming the reserve dark leader and becoming the dark leader. His most recent poetry is made up of incoherrent babble. Some have theorized that is a religious message. Some say he is trying to cry out for help. Most agree though that he is just insane. Sometimes when trainers enter his gym... They never come back out. He is hiding a secret. The question is, are you insane enough to find it?

Dusk: Black hair, 12, Darkish body, Female, Red eyes: The ghost type leader of Reveran. Killed by her mother at age twelve and has since haunted her home and now gym. No one is quite sure how she acquired the gym leader title. Is very shy and only appears for people she likes. Has seen dark things in the abyss... Horrible things.

Evil team:

Resurrectionists:
Kindle: Purple hair, Age 28, Pale white, Female, Purple eyes. A straight up diva and major rattata too . Believes the region may hold the secret to eternal life and beauty. Leads Division C+

William: Grey hair, Age 53, White, Male, Grey eyes. An old general serving and leading the army of resurrection in the hopes of finding a way to bring back his fallen war partners and his wife. Leads Division B

Visor: White hair, Age 36, White, Male, White eyes. High Priest of the team. Very religious and is never seen without his visor, hence his name. Rumored to have psychic powers capable of felling millions. Joined in the hopes of finding out the secrets to life after death. A very skilled battler as well. Leads Division A-

Divisions by rank low to high: D, C-, C, C+, B-, B, B+, A-, A, A+, S, SS, X

This is a huge project with field effects and more. The only reason it hasn't launched is because I'm not great at spriting. I can work with Pokemon Essentials, but can't sprite to save my life. Also religion will play a huge aspect in this game. Demons and the Divine should have made that clear. Anyway, I'm off for now, this is what I've got and I'm happy with it. Stay tuned, I may show off more later.

Hello, I am new here but I am a long long time pokefan. I have been fascinated by the inner mechanics of pokemon games for quite a while and am learning more every day. Currently I'm working on an rpg maker game titled "Pokemon: Beyond The Veil" with several friends. I am very excited for this project and hope to have it completely finished and released in a few years. All of that being said, I'm here today to discuss something different. This discussion goes beyond anything done in the hacking community, to my knowledge.

I want to make a 3D pokemon game from the ground up. That means no RPG Maker.

The gamecube games are some of my favorite installments in the series, and I am very disappointed with the sparse sequel-esque games we have received for them. I've seen all of these ROM hacks/RPG Maker products that are absolutely fantastic, but I want to explore grander possibilities and create something that cannot be triumphed for a long time (not as much for the satisfaction of creating the "best" game, but just something that feels full and pulls the player in with more incentive than other games can provide). Modding Gale Of Darkness comes with massive complications and problems that will likely not be worth exploring, which is why I will more than happily settle with having to create a new one (that would likely surpass what GoD set out to be in the first place).

I credit myself with being a pretty decent storyboard creator and I'm always up for learning more in programming. But alone this would be much too massive of a task to handle on my own. Anybody who is interested in working on a pokemon game arguably better than what Nintendo will ever give us (because let's face it, there are things we want that we will never be given) should give feedback show support, share knowledge, etc.

This game being built from the ground up means that it isn't too much of a stretch to create TONS of new moves and pokemon, providing type combinations and battle strategies we could have only dreamed of before. Naturally this will take a long long time to make and requires a lot of input and dedication. I am posting this as sort of a "Who's with me?!?" sort of deal, but also just to feel out the reactions people would have. So here's the idea in its infant stages:

Obvious stuff - You are a boy/girl living in a new region, trying to overthrow whatever massive evil exists in the game's story. You train to one day become the strongest in the world. You participate in the various activities exclusive to the region as side quest-ish events, and you go around catching the cutest/coolest buggers.

Newer Concepts -
1. The game is not played in an overworld view as most games in the series are. Think Legend of Zelda for reference. I want the player to be able to experience the beauty of the world and feel just how big it is. I want to be in a city with skyscrapers feeling high up, trees towering over you in forests, etc.
2. The world will be much more futuristic. Traversing areas will be a much different experience due to the tools at your disposal and how areas have been designed by society. The game looking good is a top priority.
3. All appearing pkmn will be new... most likely. While I'm not entirely against including real pkmn, fakemons (With GOOD DESIGN) getting attention will set the game apart and make it a truly new experience. To work, it would need strong characters, plot, and other aspects to draw in the player. I've typed out every single type combination that could exist (there are 171) and adding pre-evolutions to several of them can lead to a truly vast pokedex.
4. Meaning. I want the game to have an underlying tone of appreciation for our universe and love to each other in a way not corny, as well as reaching our full potential despite odds. Pokemon has been good at providing philosophical and moral sentiment despite being a game all about fighting. This is yet another contribution to the depth I keep mentioning. However, I'd like to make it a bit more relate-able to real life than it ends up in the main series sometimes. It'd be nice to have a game that has an ending like X&Y without the awful and void-of-meaning evil team.
5. Acceptance! I want this to be something people can be a part of as a community. This is limited of course, as every random suggestion cannot and will not be considered, but generally I want this game to reflect remaining wishes we have for the games we've come to love.
6. Soundtrack. I make music and I'd love to have some sweet music exclusive to the game. Like a lot. Genre-crossing anywhere from soft electronic "chill-step", to hard rock, to sweet R&B melodies, to center hitting rap. Pokemon makes amazing music in most every game and I don't want to lose that trend.
7. Challenging please. And the antagonists don't need to be "Team _____". It's cleche.

I know this is a whole lot, but please don't be discouraged by how massive this sounds or if you have little to no experience in this. If you're willing to learn and are actually here to contribute, put in your two cents! Criticism is also welcome as long as it isn't formatted as "This idea sucks", and is more like "I don't think this is appealing" or "Why would you put this in? It's impractical" etc.

Whew. Okay done for now. If you have anextreme interest message me.

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't think anyone expressed any interest in my idea. Anyway, you summed it up pretty accurately. As for the battle system, I'm having the main characters do the fighting themselves, as they can perform moves used by Pokémon, although weapons like swords and guns could be used as well.

This looks really impressive. It is always great to see people looking at Pokemon reborn style games and they are very enjoyable.

In terms of people to sprite there are a lot of talented people in that field on these forums (myself not included as I am equally rubbish at spriting). You can look for someone to work on sprites in the recruitment thread but I think your best bet is to start doing some work on the game and get your own thread in the progressing games. You can show off a bit more of your game there and people will be more inclined to work with you if they see some progress on the game. Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing this one develop further.

I have some ideas, but I doubt I will ever use them for anything since I lack knowledge, Money, time and Motivation.

So let us start with the beginning. You are a street child in a city in the Region of[Insert Name]*. You are a kid living in the poorest part of the entire place, living off whatever you can find, what people throw away or whatever money youcan get from odd jobs here or there. You have a big sibling who lives together withyou and you always look out for each other. But your sibling is still busy witha job in a factory and you are done with your own part time job. You walk back hometo your little alley and come by a big research lab where recently a Professor hasmoved in. Even a street urchin like you has heard of this.

Out of curiosity, you decide to move around and see if you can get a glimpse of a scientist doingsomething cool or anything like that. Then you find an open window in the back andnobody inside. After a moment, you decide to stealthily move inside, hoping thatmaybe you can find something small that you can sell on the market. Whilewalking through the lab, you see something that makes your breath hold.

There arethree Pokeballs lying on the desk in the middle of the lab, all with small descriptionsof the Pokémon inside.

Getting a Pokémon....getting the chance to become at a trainer, it is the dream of every kid. But Pokeballsare expensive and trying to catch something without already having a Pokémon isdamned hard too. Plus, they are not reusable, so if they fail once, you have tobuy another.

Getting a Pokémoncomplete with Pokeball, that is worth a small fortune. You have heard ofregions where any child can become a trainer, but here only these with enoughmoney can hope for that. Unless you manage to befriend a Pokémon by luck orchance, a street child like you is unlikely to get one ever.

You look atthe descriptions of the mons and after a moment hold your hand out to the onethat sounds like it would be right for you...

A soundfrom outside disrupts you, a loud clicking as someone is opening a door lock withoutthinking, you grab the ball that you were about to touch and jump out of thewindow again. You run and run as fast as you can, hoping that nobody discoverswhat you have done.

That...that means you have a Pokémon... you can become a Pokémon trainer!

------

Now later,it would turn out that you cannot just become a Pokémon trainer, you need a TrainerID for that and that again costs lots of money. Without an ID, you cannot fightfor money with other trainers since you put down all wins and losses there. Well, theoretically, you aren't allowed to fight at all unless attacked first. Mosttrainers won't mind mock battles without betting money though unless you cometoo often to them. (If the Pokeball were already registered to someone, itwould also likely get teleported away soon after informing the league that itwas lost. Fortunately, it hasn't been registered yet. Only professionalcriminals can break that registration code.)

Thanks tothis, there is no way to finance a journey through the land to challenge Gyms.Instead you now have another mouth to feed and need to do odd jobs and such tokeep up. On the other hand, a Pokémon is a much better additional mouth to feedsince it can do much more work than any human and eats less for the most part.

And whoknows, maybe you can make your situation better given enough time and changeyour position in life? It is worth a try.

------

Basically, idea was that you actually have to get Money, feed your mon and find some Long-term ways to get the Situation to Change. You could try to join the less legal organizations with your mon, or go and do odd Jobs, maybe help out the Police occasionally for some favors. Or something else. It is honestly a pretty vague idea for a plot. I had Timburr, Ralts and Pawniard in mind for potential Starters... just a vague idea overall though.

Edit: Sorry for some of the stuck together words.... copied from word document and acts Kind of weird.
