hmmm... I've never played dungeons and dragons before...

but, if it is between my characters that are not a part of a fan fiction, the dungeon master would definitely be Ryo: an ink-obsessed dragon that is trapped inside a teenage girl and is obviously going to grow up male (dragons are born "its" and get their gender dependent on how they act the first 500 years of their life)

AH-HA! Has anyone ever put a Wobuffet in their stories before?
Um... no? I've only written one fan fic and haven't gotten far ^.^'

Your characters decide to have a nice, rousing game of Dungeons and Dragons. What characters do they play, and which one is the Dungeon Master?

Ahem. I've never played Dungeons and Dragons, but I do know something about it... I might be totally off track, though, but never mind me. xD

Cimi (from JtIoJ and SP) would definitely be an elf cleric. She'd want her character to be a wise, graceful being, shining with an inner light of tranquility but yet be powerful and scary, preferably the beautiful princess of the elven population. Yes, Cimi would try to have a chracter as mary sue as possible. Of course, because she is far from a mary sue, it would not suit her very well. She'd probably get herself fatally injured pretty fast... She'd also take the role of the leader of the pack, forcefully if she had to, because that is the role most suitable for her character (that's her opinion, at least). So, she'd be running around, glowing the light of inner tranquility, and getting killed in some cave when she just barges in without any second thoughts. Or first thoughts.

Adan (same fics) would want to be something very powerful, but after thinking a while, he'd decide on being a human paladin. After all, he has a strong sense of duty, and someone has to take the role of a defender. His character would be much like him, because he can't act or pretend very well. The paladin of his would always try to be the logical and sensible one of the team, because Cimi would obviously just run into any cave and get killed if someone didn't stop her. Obviously, he'd fail in this mission, but he'd try anyway. Also, he would be an orphan.

Pichu (still the same fics) would definitely want to join in the game and have some kickass character. His character should be a dwarf warlock with a ridiculously huge axe or something, and he'd definitely not be careful with it. He would most likely meet his end soon and by his own axe. I figure no-one really knows how he does it, but I can swear that he somehow manages to hit his own head off with it. Well, that's what you get with two-sided war axes.

Jack (MB) would have to be forced in, although he would have some interest in the game. Because he'd be forced in, his character would be picked at random by the other players. No matter what they do to pick the character, Jack would end up as a halfling ranger, totally against his will. He'd hate the whole game yet still play almost eagerly. He'd try to be sensible like Adan, but he's still easily excited and would participate in Cimi's suicide plans. I figure he'd stay alive, though.

Sora (from the parody fic) would be a fairy queen as sue as herself, and Jack would kill her after three minutes of the game. Why? He'd be that annoyed. Everyone would be relieved, and because Sora is a sue, she'd not be mad because of it. She'd just laugh her gracious, old-people-killing laugh and go bake muffins to everyone. She might be revived later because of the muffins, but she'd die again soon - by friendly fire - because she is just that annoying.

Rora (from SP) would be a wizard, probably human at that. She'd be a tad vile but generally a good person with only some xenocides in her past. Her character would be male, just for the heck of it, and she'd probably be the real leader of the team with Adan. She would think before she did anything and try to kill her fellow adventurers on purpose only occasionally. She'd probably tease Cimi the most, with her being Rora's older sister and all. I could even guess that going to the cave that proves to be the place of Cimi's character's death would be Rora's idea...

And the game master? Obviously April (Jack's loose-headed mother, for those of you who don't know. From MB)! She'd insist on having the role of Dungeon Master and she'd screw up the whole thing. She'd forget the rules all the time, she'd lost her maps and plans and improvise in a way that doesn't make sense, she'd try to stop characters from dying when there obviously is no way they can be saved, and she'd constantly try to resurrect Sora's fairy queen who shouldn't even exist in the first place. She's definitely the worst character for the job, and also the most likely one. All in all, she'd completely screw the rules because she can't remember them and make up her own.

It would be an interesting game, to say the least. I almost want to write a short story about that game now...

And if someone didn't know those characters, go read my fanfics right now. The links are below. Go go go! They're all readable, I promise! Also, all the characters are worth knowing...

Samuel would probably be a human warrior with an extremely huge sword (I'm thinking dragon sword) who would probably have everything plus his liver chopped off because he feel into a spiky pit of death (or SPoD), only to be revived somehow because he would complain about it so much. Once revived, he would promptly fall into yet another SPoD. With a tiger in it. And maybe an evil taco that eats humans.

Darren would make an elf monk, but halfway through the game, decide he wanted to be a rogue, or something like that. He would get this class change, sure, but he would be lucky if he didn't fall into a SPoD, maybe the same one Samuel fell in, with the man-eating taco. And he too would be revived, and would probably survive until he wanted another class change, then he would die by fifty billion kajillion orcs.

Saul would be an elf wizard, who when running, would look fast, but would go very veeeeerrrrry slow. This would only be a problem because for some reason it would take him a little bit to stop running, and he would probably fall into a SPoD, only to float out somehow, he IS a wizard.

Neal would be the dungeon master, only because he could not figure out the sheets for making a character. Of course he would have trouble with the rules, and everything else. The story he would make would probably be some sort of quest for something that has to do with computers, even though this is a fantasy game.

Have any of you put a Sentret in any of your fics?
I was tempted to many times. I even wrote more than half of a chapter of some not done fic where the main character had a sentret named Senny. And his sister was referred to as some sort of scary monster in the beginning.

*blinks and smiles nervously at the Dungeon & Dragons question as he hasn't a clue about it*

Umm... err... aha! Wobbuffet! No, I have not used that in my fics. Although I do plan to use a Wynaut in a up-and-coming chapter.

I've once read an amusing battle one-shot involving a battle between Wynaut and Wobbuffet though. XD Also, Sike Saner I believe might just happen to have a Wobbuffet in one of his fics...
I haven't. Not once. Not ever.
Oh, fair enough. My mistake.

...

....hang on... :P

As for Sentret, I haven't used that either - if I do I'd be tempted to give it a Flamethrower of some sort though.

Oh wait, I DID put Sentret in the first chapter of T6W! Nathan is reflecting briefly on his disciple's character, mentioning how she has a veritable army of small Pokemon that she refuses to evolve...

"He had an amusing vision of her opponent being swarmed by a sea of Sentret. Not so funny when it actually happened, and the opponent had been him."

Ayup. I'll have that chapter finished soon...

No and no.

I have not played D&D, surprisingly. Therefore, I do not know the classes. I think both of my main characters would probably be Paladins and/or warriors or whatever existing class more or less coincides with those two classes.

Let me guess...for half the time, they all argue who gets to read the instruction manual, until they finally set up a game. It takes them another age to pick classes and whatnot and it's soon dinner. And nobody skips dinner.

Not yet, but I have thought about throwing one into AJYWSF later on.

Never, but I might... you never know. *shrugs*

Have you ever set a fanfic in the past or future? If so, how many years in either direction was it set?

I lol'd. My first fic is set in the past, during what would be the equivalent of about 1400-1500 A.D. My second fic is set in the future, around 2200-2300 A.D. So I occupy both sides of the spectrum.

To play off of the Dungeons and Dragons answer, I have a question similar in nature.

If you're characters were a race in the World of Warcraft, which might they be? You can even speculate which professions they would seek mastery of if you wish to go that far.
Mine would be a Night Elf druid, just because a Night Elf Druid sounds sweet :P Plus, I have one in-game. I feel like such a nerd right now lol :D

My friend's a Blood Elf something-or-rather. :\ Then he became Night Elf because all the noobs were going to that side. And I still have no idea what you're talking about.

You see, that happens around this place. People tend to go mad. Must be the porn and the smell of crack. Or maybe it's just the clean, solitary, white feeling we have here.

Anyway, do you guys mind if I make the FFL a -harmless- building in my ROM Hack? I needn't include you people, but the clean, solitary, white feeling must be! :D

What's going on?
Ninja Caterpie, we're not really that crazy. Of course, if you make us out to be very crazy, we'll end up being something like that... But now that Astinus never posts here, it's not as fun to set the curtains on fire anymore.

I, for one, will succumb to having only somewhat sensible conversations from now on. Yeah, right.

Have you ever set a fanfic in the past or future? If so, how many years in either direction was it set?

Well, Mama's Boy happens partially in the past of the actual storyline xD But that's only some eight or nine years ago, so I guess it doesn't count. Other than that, none of my fanfics are set into other times than "now".
I have, however, written several original fics that take place in the past or in the future or both. ^-^

I have never played WoW, so I wouldn't know. I only know that there are Night Elves and Dwarfs or something, and I know nothin' about no profession! I'm not rich enough to play a game like that, nor am I so curious I'd want to play it for the ten day trial only. That's why I have no idea.

I wrote a fic where the main character was a Sentret! (Or well, a Sentret clone, Mewtwo-style, made after they figured, "Okay, let's try that again, but with something that's not going to kill us all") Admittedly he evolved in the first chapter, but hey.

No Wobbuffet, though.

Well, The Quest for the Legends is set 27 years after the Pokémon anime, if that counts. :/
