I guess my favorite Pokemon music will have to be a tied between the surf music in Pokemon Black/White and Black2/White2 and the surfing music from the good ol' days of RBYG.

Seems you made it all the way here, koff~

Hey! I was looking forward to seeing you, <player>! My rival should be strong to keep me sharp! While working on my Pokédex, I looked all over for powerful Pokémon! Not only that, I assembled teams that would beat any Pokémon type! And now! I am the Pokémon League Champion! <Player>! Do you know what that means? I'll tell you! I am the most powerful trainer in the world!

I nearly broke my teeth trying to beat this bastard. To this day, I have not actually beaten Pokemon Blue Version (I did beat him in Red 4 years after the game came out and I beat him in Yellow). I probably won't try again out of respect for the magnificence and effort they put into making a character you just want to whoop on but couldn't, because he's just that good.

Now, years later, I'm pretty confident I'd be able to win, but that doesn't mean I don't feel intimidated by the aspect of it. He went through all the gyms, and all the elite four before you. That means he's better than you. Faster than you. And let's be honest, without the use of the bag, and without leveling up all your Pokemon an ungodly amount, he'd slice off a piece of your rump, char-broil it and hand feed it too you just because he can. Granted, I haven't played in years, but the theme music for the Champion, be it Gary, Blue, Green, Dork, Asshat or Paco, still gives me a little adrenaline rush. No other Champion has pushed me so far to the edge of never playing the game again. Not Lance, not Red, not anyone. Professor Oak's Grandson is the strongest trainer in all respects.

The Rival in the first games was just that, a rival. And his only motivation, his only goal is to be the best, the strongest, the brightest star. And he succeeds. No other rival has yet reached his caliber of sheer determination. He's also too busy succeeding that the battles with you seem like an after thought. I was always skating by the skin of my teeth after losing several times and losing most of my cash. Well done, Oak. Well done. But what I'm really trying to say here is Yo! Smell ya later!, koffi~

Oh, a favorite music thread... *prepares to list off every OST*

But seriously, I like a LOT of the music in Pokemon games. While I'm not exactly well-versed on the first 2 gens (and 16-bit music), I can say that the music has been outstanding for each generation since. In fact, I can't think of a single track I WOULDN'T listen to... Well, I'll try to narrow it down... turns out I really didn't so...hidden in spoilers because post length

Got a kind of interesting assortment..

-The old school Trainer Battle music from Red and Blue (its a classic of classics)
-Slowpoke's Well/Ice Tunnel in Gold/Silver (Dat Base)
-Pokemon Nerd/Quirky Trainer encounter theme from D/P (lasts about 30 seconds, but its 30 seconds of awkward awesome)
-Reverse Mountain from BW2 (very exotic sounding)
-The Tropical town in BW2 (totally forgot the name, the one with the water gym)
-The Town before Reverse Mountain in BW2 (again, forgot the name)
-Gym Leader Battle in XY
-Professor Scyamore's Theme (Its very classy)
-Pokeball Factory/Power Plant music in X/Y
-Anistar Town in XY
-Laverre City in XY

The Bike theme from Heartgold/Soulsilver, and the Pokemon Center song from Black/White. I just start humming them sometimes. . . Today my friend let me play her Pokemon Y, and she saved in a Pokemon Center, so I immediately starting singing the song~

I love so many of the tracks in the Pokémon games, it's impossible to select even a few!
I like nearly all the Champion themes - Iris's is actually one of my favourites as it's so upbeat and really suits her personality. She's only a kid really who happens to have awesome dragons. The theme is happy-go-lucky yet there's still a badass edge to it.

I love N's Castle's theme. In fact nearly all of N's music. Alder's encounter theme is wonderful.

I'll try and compose a smallish list of my favourites:
  • Blue's Champion theme (R/B/Y)
  • National Park (G/S/C) - always had a soft spot for this one
  • Lance and Red's theme (G/S/C)
  • Sealed Chamber music (R/S/E)
  • Regis theme (R/S/E)
  • Steven/Wallace (R/S/E)
  • Elite Four across all generations - especially Black and White
  • Dialga and Palkia's theme - and when you fight a legendary in D/P (never played Platinum)
  • All of N's music - encounter, battle and castle
  • Reshiram/Zekrom theme (B/W)
In my opinion, Generation 4 had the worst soundtrack - Generation 3 and 5 had the best :)

There's been a fair share of creepy music too - especially the Unown music which plays on the radio in Ruins of Alph in Gen 2. It terrifies me far more than Lavender Town.

I really like the song that plays during the first episode of Pokémon: The Origin while Red is challenged by Green near the sign pointing the way to Viridian City (Around 8 minutes in). If anyone knows where I can get this song, please please send me a PM with a link or something.

I really like the song played in Snowbelle City in Pokémon X. I also like the song that plays during the gym battles.

Maybe it's just the nostalgia rush but that tune makes my chest heavy, man. Really sad and sweet melody.

My favorite Pokemon music would be some of the legendary battle themes (the ones for the creation trio, Arceus, Black/White Kyurem, Ho-oh, Yveltal/Xerneas/Zygarde, and Deoxys) all the Champion themes (except for Iris's), and the Heartgold/Soulsilver Kanto Gym Leader battle theme.

That battle theme is my jam!

It's really hard to pick a favourite as Pokemon has such good music, but here are some top ones (not in any order):

Blue Battle Theme - Pokemon Red/Blue
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHjciyJZIiA

Ice Cave - Pokemon Gold
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALBTQMzD2so

Mt. Coronet - Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-GFxbkGmMQ

Piano Before Cynthia Theme - Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBkHuCAci1o

Cynthia Battle Theme - Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whX6TVUDF-E

Cynthia Battle Theme - Black/White (yes I love Cynthia and her music haha)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMsnxraYN4c

Route 113 - Ruby/Sapphire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfARFF9S5Jg

Abandoned Ship - Ruby/Sapphire
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRJBpBwngi0

Man I could go on and on. There's just too many to name!

Colress' theme! I absolutely loved that track it's one of my very favourites! It was so different to everything else and it really suited him.

I really loved the theme tune for Canalave City, it was really peaceful and nice to listen to.

The X/Y Soundtracks are really growing on me, particularly the Gym Leader, Team Flare, Elite Four and Champion themes. They really outdid themselves with the music in Pokémon X and Y.. again!
