Family: Blaine lives with his father and mother in their one story house in Vermillion City. His father works as a mechanic and is one of the many mechanics that keeps the cities power grid functioning normally. Although he has done all that he can to make Blaine into a mechanic the boy, who doesn't really want to become one, just smiles on and works to help his dad off. His mother works in a pokemon center as a standby nurse. Although both are gone for long times from the house it really doesn't bother Blaine. If he's not at school he'll just turn on his computer and talk to online friends.

Goals and interests: His main goal is to find something he loves and be successful with it. So far all that he has tried are small jobs that he doesn't particularly care for so he figures that by at least trying to be a trainer will help him mark another job off of his list if he doesn't care for it. If he ends up enjoying being a trainer, then he would find out just what he would want to do for the rest of his life. He is mostly interested in chatting with his online friends and enjoys spending time on forums since it is far easier to initiate conversations there than in the outside world. Whenever he is off of his computer he usually will go to art exhibits… and that's about it. Despite the few friends he has wanting him to go out and try other things, he finds himself far more comfortable with doing activities that he already has experience with.

Strengths: Blaine considers himself a loner at heart and has managed to accomplish many things on his own. Due to staying isolated from classmates he has adopted a mindset where he can solve problems and think outside of the box on his own. Due to this very nature he finds it rather easy to make friends with other loners. Not only that, but since he has little friends he often finds that he has the time to do whatever he wants and can remain focused on the tasks at hand. Blaine doesn't wear his emotions for any to see, instead he keeps a lot of his emotions boxed in. Despite his attitude of not wanting to connect to others he also doesn't wish to cause anyone, especially his parents, to worry about him and so over the years he has perfected the art of hiding any pain he feels deep inside of his mind.

Weaknesses: Due to an incident several years ago Blaine has a uncontrollable fear of heights. Even so much as climbing up a ladder will cause Blaine to shudder, sometimes he even throws up in such situations. Funny enough, despite his intended isolation from others he truly fears being alone. Not the kind of alone where he knows when he enters a town there will be people all around him, but the kind where no other people exist and he TRULY is alone. Due to his isolation he lacks a lot of social skills mainly those that require him to feel the right emotion at the right time. He knows when to laugh sure, but whenever he has to feel pity or sadness for another he isn't sure if the circumstances are right for such an emotion or if he is showing too much emotion at such a time. He also has no idea as to how to care for a pokemon, though he is trying to learn just to see if being a trainer is really the right path for him.

Despite her lack of social depth and general awkwardness, Lucy has always been rather feminine. She has auburn hair that she wears in a seemingly permanent ponytail, is somewhat pale, and stands at exactly 5'4" and weighs 116 lbs despite seeming rather then. She is rather fit and slender, she attributes this to a lot of running during her workouts and it shows in how toned her legs are. Her standard attire seems to be a red scarf, a light orange sweater, a red plaid skirt, black leggings, black shoes, and her red headphones that seem to always be a consistent in her outfit. Her most striking feature is her red eyes, apparently caused by a slight mutation in the alleles for eye color. She attributes her good eyesight to this. If one were to check, her hands are starting to form slight callouses due to her practicing how to rock climb recently.

Family: Lucy lives with her eccentric aunt in Azalea town. She is not originally from Johto however, and is an Unova native. Lucy's family situation was never the best, her parents seemingly neglecting her for her elder brother. Her elder brother had been, at least while she was younger, a sort of rising star in the Poke-Cinema business. He was charismatic and knew how to project himself well on the stage, at least that was what Lucy's parents told her. Her parents at first tried to maintain a balance between her and him, but it was obvious as time passed that a rift was growing. Even when she had decided to try her hand at being a Pokemon trainer, with her aunt's insistence that'd be better than nothing, she didn't really register in her parent's eyes for more than a short while. With her parent's reluctant permission she decided to move in with her aunt for awhile, she liked her better than her parents if she was honest, to try and become a better trainer and for some sort of peace. Besides that, Lucy's aunt is so clumsy and childish at times that she feels as if she's the adult in the house. Her aunt is named Louize and has a Sylveon that's been with her since she was a child.

Goals and interests: Lucy has lived a rather empty life so far, with her few bright spots being dulled out by the overwhelming grey in her life. She doesn't have many friends and is introvert to the core; her Pokemon and aunt really being the only ones she considers her friends. Due to these circumstances, Lucy wants to do something that her brother was never good at, so that maybe one day, she could get the same sort of recognition that her parents gave him. This led her to Pokemon battling, which she was good at, but it didn't help. Her brother still looked down on her and her parents could barely get enough time to interact with her. Lucy's aunt had told her that maybe she should look for what makes her happy, instead of trying to aim towards pleasing others she should find what she likes. As of now, she still doesn't know exactly what she wants, but she's decided that she'll do whatever it takes to find out what it is that she wants to do. A secondary goal of hers is to simply become a well-known trainer; she still holds a vague hope that her parents would acknowledge her. Her hobbies include listening to music and drawing, both things that her aunt does a lot of.

Strengths: Lucy has always been very analytical person, and could be called something of a genius if she actually applies herself. She can assess even the most strenuous of situations while remaining calm and generally is able to solve mysteries easier than others, perhaps because she's sort of become numb emotionally. She has a very strong sense of morality and despite her social awkwardness, Lucy likes to do good things for others and will actively go out of her way to help others if she can. The acknowledgment from others makes her feel good about herself. Louis, despite her slightly thin frame and pale skin, is surprisingly fit. Her aunt told her that a great Pokemon Trainer is mentally fit and just as physically fit, and she took that to heart and keeps to a strict regiment of working out at least 3 times a week. The newest addition to this regiment is rock climbing, though she only does this if in a suitable environment.

Weaknesses: Lucy is a very unmotivated person. Stemming from her always being in her brother's shadow nearly all her life, she can't find it in herself to really try her best at will. Most of the time she's content to just hang back and do nothing, even if the situation is unfair. It's ingrained into her core that she should accept how things are, and it'll be hard to change that. She tries to keep a positive outlook on things, but finds herself suffering from apathy. She's withdrawn around others and suffers from social awkwardness which makes her nearly mute around others unless directly asked a question or if she needs to absolutely speak. She has problems with understanding other people well, which stems from her apathy which can affect how she'd help someone in a negative way. The only thing that motivates her generally is her goal and her aunt.

Pokémon:

Braixen (f) - Lucy's, technically speaking, starter Pokemon. A gift from his aunt on her 14th birthday, she treasures Braixen as her partner and admittedly it is the Pokemon she is the closest too. It was for the good part of a year a Fennekin and only recently evolved while in Azalea town. When outside of battle Braixen likes to lounge about and is haughty to others whether they be Pokemon or Human. She doesn't exactly know how her aunt managed to get a Fennekin, she told her she knew a guy in the Kalos region, but she doesn't really care as getting Fennekin was one of the happiest moments of her life. Braixen has an odd habit of stealing her headphones or unplugging them while she's using them.

Ralts (f) - The second Pokemon she managed to catch. Ralts is rather shy around new people, but doesn't let this affect it in battle. When in large crowds Ralts either retreats back into it's Pokeball or hides behind Lucy's leg. Ralts always seems to get dragged around by Scraggy when it's training, but it doesn't particularly seem to mind much.

Scraggy (m) - The last Pokemon that she managed to acquire before she moved to the Johto region. Scraggy is energetic and always trains when Lucy has some down time, usually it trains by head butting trees. Lucy sometimes helps with Scraggy's training by doing a few some drills with it, but unlike her other Pokemon, she prefers to let Scraggy use its own training method. Scraggy tends to drag Ralts into its training sessions, but Ralts usually ends up just being their for support.​

Appearance: Janice stands at a height of about 5'8". She has short, bleached-blonde hair that reaches down to about the base of her neck with rather long bangs that jut out around her forehead and the sides of her head. Janice's eyes are a piercing, emerald green in color. She sports a slender body build with a fair skin complexion. Janice has a scar on her left leg, which runs down from the thigh to the shin. The scar is a result of a childhood injury that causes the girl to walk with a slight limp. It is unknown what Janice's natural hair color is.

In terms of clothing, Janice has a rather punkish style that she follows. She tends to wear leather jackets and vests at almost all times, with steeled-toe or combat boots on her feet. Janice always wears jeans. It does not matter the temperature or the weather, the girl refuses to wear shorts or skirts. Whether or not this is just a quirk or if she does this to hide her scar, it is hard to say. She tends to wear a wristband or bracelet on her left wrist as well. Under her jacket or vest, Janice will usually wear tank tops or t-shirts. These usually have rather snide comments on them or are... less than appropriate for wear as they show off her form a bit too much at times, but like usual she just doesn't seem to care. Out of her outfits, the only two parts that never change are her choker and her wool cap.

Strengths: Janice is a very forward girl. She has no problem stating her views or opinion on a situation and is definitely not afraid to throw down should a battle or fight be required. She is brutally honest, finding liars to be nothing more than a waste of her time. Janice also sports sheer determination. It takes a lot for this girl to give up, and she's more than willing to approach a problem from any angle if it means she can get it done. If her Pokémon cannot get the job done, Janice is more than willing to use her own force, handicap or not.

Weaknesses: Of course, because of her determination... this means that Janice is not afraid to use less than honorable methods should they be required. She has had several run-ins with the law. In fact, the reason she was working at Bugsy's gym in the first place is on account of her parole requiring her to have a job for rehabilitation purposes. She can be rather brash with her choice of words and is quite quick to anger. Insults and rather tasteless nicknames are also abundant with her, should Janice feel the person fills the requirements. Janice has a huge weakness to cute things, something that she desperately tries to keep buried away from everyone.

Goals And Interests: Janice has dreams of hitting it big. She wants to be rich and famous, with her name known all over the regions of the world. This is not through taking on gyms and becoming the champion of the Johto region, however. Janice wants to make a spalsh in the music scene. Her rather unique goal is to put together the greatest rock band she can, herself as the lead and her Pokémon as the band. Of course, she knows that she'll need money to make her dream come true. So in order to pull this off, Janice lives the life of a trainer as a side job... only temporary. Probably.

Family: Janice used to live with her mother and father in Celadon City of the Kanto Region. She was always a rather rebellious child growing up, prone to constantly getting into trouble. Most of her school days were filled with afternoons of detention. That is, when she even bothered to go to school. More often than not, Janice spent her time ditching classes and hanging out with less than outstanding characters. This eventually led her to get into several run-ins with the law. Eventually, she found herself being shipped out to live with her aunt and uncle in Azalea Town, where she is forced to work at Bugsy's gym as part of her parole to avoid juvenile jail time. Her aunt works at the Pokémon Mart in the town while her uncle works as a wood cutter in the nearby Ilex Forest.

- Ashe serves as Janice's first Pokémon. She received her as a Charmander back when she lived with her parents in Celadon City. Ashe is headstrong, much like her trainer. She tends do things her own way, very rarely listening to anyone or anything other than Janice. At times, the two can butt heads themselves, usually in a bout between who is actually the authority of the team. Still, Ashe will do her part in battles and keeping Janice safe... Most of the time. She is quick to establish her dominance among the team or any other trainer's Pokémon she happens to meet. Janice's plan for Ashe is to teach her how to play lead guitar.

- Janice's guilty pleasure. She encountered this Buneary out in Illex Forest, shortly after she came to live with her aunt and uncle. Injured and abandoned by its original trainer, Janice took the time to nurse the Buneary back to health. Although she initially planned to release her back into the wild, the Buneary refused to leave Janice's side, forcing the teenager to accept her onto the team. The two have grown rather close since then, but Janice refuses to admit that its mainly because of how cute she is. Janice calls the Buneary "Nina". Her goal is to get her to play bass guitar.

- The newest catch of Janice's team, coming straight from Union Cave. He's a serious, no-nonsense type of Geodude and is often at odds against Janice's Charmeleon. Dependable and always ready for battle, Janice has high hopes for the Geodude she calls Flint. She plans to have him play the drums.

Femily: Hepualaha'ole has quite an unusual family situation. Her parents divorced when she was 5 and she can't really remember a time before they were separated. She grew up in Olivine living with her dad by the sea, and later with her dad and his boyfriend. She was very happy there, she was a killer surfer and she loved her dads. Her mother lived in Azalea and she visited a few weeks a year. During one of these weeks Bugsy asked for her help and she decided to stay a bit longer.

Goals and Interests: Hepualaha'ole's biggest problem is that, as sure as she is in some things, she has absolutely no idea what she wants to do with her life. Any questions about the future have her wanting to excuse herself, curl into a ball, and try to stop existing. You know, normal stuff. This is also the reason why she started working for Bugsy, as an interim thing where she didn't have to think about things like college or jobs. When Bugsy told her about the Retribution she knew she couldn't just stand idly by while horrible things were happening, especially not since many of the institutions that were supposed to prevents things like there were standing idly by.




Strengths: Hepuala is brave and strong, both physically and emotionally. She always helps those in need and will always defend those who can't defend themselves. She's levelheaded and keeps her wits about her in a crisis. She's also a natural leader, quick to take charge of a situation should she be required too. She's a fantastic swimmer and a good surfer, both of these qualities left her with strong muscles and good endurance.

Weaknesses: Hepualaha'ole sees the world in black and white. Shades of grey make her uncomfortable and she prefers not to think about it. It's so much easier to hate someone without thinking of their better sides too. For all her bravery she's content sticking her head in the sand when things move into that unpleasant ambiguous area. She also holds grudges, boy does she hold grudges. Cross her once, shame on you and good luck getting in her good graces again.

This aside she always doesn't know when to back down. She's terrible at picking her fights, instead wanting to fight all of them. If she thinks something is worth fighting for she will fight even if she cannot win. She won't stand idly by injustice. She's a natural leader, but at the same time she's very bad at being lead by others. If she doesn't agree with something she will contest it, and if pressed will ignore it and do her own thing.

Background​
Having lived in Goldenrod city all her life, Finley knows nothing other than urban society. This has lead to her being fascinated with Jhoto's more rural, mountainous and oceanic settings. She loves to experience the mysteries that come with natures wonders, but due to her upbringing, would often be hesitant to take on these challenges alone.
One of Finley's biggest influences in her aspirations to become a great trainer is her older sister. With her growing up to become a great trainer, she has large footsteps to walk in, which only leads to fuelling her chronic inferiority complex.
Her parents work very run of the mill jobs. Her mother works the till in the Goldenrod department store, while her father is a technician at the radio tower. Her sister stands out as the only real high achiever in hier immediate family, and should she fail to become a great pokemon trainer, she'll forever stand in her sister's shadow.


Goals & Interests
Finley simply wants to become a great and well known pokemon trainer. The most obvious way to do that would be to beat the gym challenge. If she's ever to escape her sister's shadow, she'll need to achieve something she has never done, and that is to beat the elite four. While she doesn't have the charismatic personality or undying drive that her older sister has, she does have her calculated and calm approach. Battling pokemon isn't her only passion though. She realises that the way pokemon training is glamorised in her day, she'd once again be just one in a bunch, challenging every other kid that wants exactly the same things as her. Finley wants to understand pokemon on a personal level. She wants to be able to understand the thought processes of pokemon and why they do what they do. What better way to do that, than to have a conversation with a talking pokemon?


Strengths
Finley is rather calculated in her approach to most things, but at the same time is very adaptable and able improvise if the situation calls for it. Her calm nature allows her to keep a level head in a situation where most would panic.
Intuitive is a word that describes Finley perfectly. If there's a clue she'll likely pick up on it, and she does with most things. Though it may take her a while to work out its significance, she will notice it and remember it.
Athletic. She may be a slow girl in terms of her dangerously lax nature and her often distracted mental state, but she is capable of being fast, and when she tries...she really is fast.

Weaknesses
Dense; while not stupid, Finley can be pretty oblivious in some situations. She can seem slow, often taking a while to catch on to things that bypass her. She has also been regularly described as slow or daft. Her honesty can also be a crippling product of her personality, often opting to tell the truth when lying would obviously be the better option.
Finley is hardly your 'take charge' kind of girl. She's more than happy to take a back seat in a group or team effort. Leadership isnt her forte and she's completely accepting of that
Pushing it to the limit isn't something that Finley will often do if it's avoidable. She's more than happy to put effort in to get a job done, but there's a limit and its there for a reason.

Rio (Foxrally) is accepted! But you've got to accentuate the fact that he's not very knowledgeable about many things, else he seems a bit too good to be interesting ;)

Omi (drunk) is accepted! Do you really want to be 13 years old though? I did set the limit at 14 because while I don't want you guys to be too far off from the Pine trainers, I also don't think Bugsy would send out too young kids against Team Rocket.

Theo (Himika) is accepted! No comment really haha.

Terry (Lord Sephear) is not accepted... Unless you do a simple genderchange on Terry! All the Azalea trainers signing up are males for some reason O.o perhaps one wants to argue that gender shouldn't matter at this day and age but we've rather enjoyed the equal gender ratio in CR so far and would like to keep it if possible. And Terry would be an even more interesting character if you really kept everything the way it is now but changed all "he" to "she" :) think about it? All three girls currently in CR are rather outgoing so female!Terry would be a nice balance.

Garison, gimmepie, Geras32, Lucifer-san and Swan. You will have a chance yet if you make female characters instead! There are at least 2-3 spots left. Yes okay, Shak, that goes for you too :) If anybody wants to argue that their male char is much better for the RP than a female would be, you are of course free to do so~

Gosh I didn't mean for this to turn into a competition ;; I hope nobody is feeling pressured, I only want a nice gang of players and characters for CR2. We love all the attention though, thank you all <3

One day there won't be a gender imbalance and I'll get to play as a dude. One day. Until then I'll stick to my track record of ladies. I'll have mine up tonight, would have earlier but there was a uni intro thing.

EDIT: Ah this is taking a bit longer than usual and I do need some sleep. I'll try to have it done as soon as I can tomorrow.

Why not just change the gender of your char then? Do girls and boys need different personalities or backgrounds or goals really?

I did say that you could state that you preferred a male char and wanted another shot with that instead.

Yay! I got accepted!

And I guess I could change Omi's age, 13 was meant to reflect that the kid is fracking awesome at being a Bug Pokémon trainer, but 14 isn't that big of a difference, so it wouldn't be an issue. Meh, I'll just make him 15, thanks Rika! :)

FYI, I really liked the idea of him being 13 (Maybe bordering on 14?). Just have him be alot shorter than the others, as well as younger, so that he comes off as the 'kid' of the group. Could add some interesting interactions, if you chose to stick with him being 13!
