Downloaded this today. A couple of notes:

1. Typos being 'irrelevant'. They're not. I suggest you get yourself an editor, as your work is littered with grammatical errors, spelling errors, and inconsistencies. Any programmer worth their salt cares about their work being as professional as possible, and typos are one of the least professional things you can have in a work. They distract from the flow of the story, and at times make it more difficult to follow the plot. Your players are distracted by how bad you are at spelling, when they should be thinking about how great your game is.

2. Playing on fullscreen has graphical errors for me, as well. I'm running Windows 7, and the screen flickers oddly on occasion. Not a major thing, just corroboration.

3. NPCs can and do walk through doors, completely blocking them. You might want to exclude those tiles from their walk areas.

Those points aside, game is great so far. :) I'm looking forward to playing more.

You are taking his words entirely out of context. He was quite clearly referring to the typo in the teaser, not typos within the game itself.

Nice job diffusing the situation guys,
--

1. Yuoa and daed explained it quite nicely. ingame typos are important. but not really for promotional material.

2. Yeah, I've noticed that too. Unsure why that happens, seems to be a genral error with running fullscreen. Windowed mode is suggested.

3. nice catching, that will be fixed in the next version ;)
Those points aside, game is great so far. I'm looking forward to playing more.
thanks

I too am experiencing a huge amount of lag in any large map, which is a shame because this really looks like the most original and just plain awesome idea I've seen here. I've tried patching to 0.41 and tried playing in window rather full-screen. Any ideas guys?

Ah, my apologies for taking that a bit out of proportion. ^^; I was skipping around a bit, I must have missed the relevant piece.

Something else I've noticed, when a trainer sees you, they start moving before the "!" shows up. Is that intentional, or a mistake?

Related to my previous post: I was determined to play the game even with the ridiculous amount of lag I was having. I has having to pause and un-pause after every single step, but soon the lag just seemed to almost completely go away. I hope this helps anybody having the same problem as me.

@ayamie: sorta intentional- How the trainers work is that as soon as they touch you, they initiate the "!" and battle procedure.

So, whenever you step on their line of sight, they quickly move forward until they bump into you- in which case they initiate the battle.

@Evilade- Yeah, lag is an innoying nuicence in v0.4 ... so....

I've decided I'm gonna release a v0.45 v0.5
It's for the people who can't play the game due to lag.

It will be up in the next few days..

It's not gonna contain any major new stuff.
-It will have the new enemy pokemon balance. meaning enemy pokemon get a lot stronger, but have less HP.
-Revamped evolution method
-Pokedex
-desert events
-eeveeon
-fixed some glitches
-and other minor stuff.

This is mainly to check whether it reduces lag.

I'm gonna try cram in the rainbow tower, but that's looking unlikely.

Cool another quick note not really any bad thing but its more like something i learned. It's that when you start a new game oaks sprite flashes into what i think is M or an Ai.

@AyameHikaru:
Bah, I look away for one day and my record is broken :P

Anyway, @Above: intentional.

DarkDoom, why call this .45? I think the updates should get it to at least .5 or something :P My opinion, however.

i have been playing this game almost non-stop since yesterday.... IT'S SO AWESOME....
Seriously, why hasn't Nintendo implemented a real-time battle system in a Pokemon game yet? (And why haven't they ditched the four move limit?)
Altogether, I'd say you have a piece of 24-carat gold on your hands. This is a bona-fide masterpiece!
I can't wait for version .45!

The Writing Staff
I'm happy to announce the 2 writers recriuted for this game.
BCKC and NikNaks.

They're gonna start the grammar reporting once v0.5 releases. They'll get access to an awesome exclusive Debug Mode.

Desert Events
Desert events are fully completed. including the regirock summon.
desertevents.png

-Cacnea and shroomish have been added. Cacnea appears as a generic cactus (cacti?) in the vast Khubla Desert south, but it moves.

-The tomb of the king has a binary puzzle. You are given a "desired value"... a value between 0 and 255. You must have the "Tomb Value" match the desired value. There are 8 colums with switches on them. they change the tomb value. The first switch increases the tomb value by 1, the next by 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 and lastly 128. Using a combination of the switches, you can change the tomb value to any number... between 0 and 255.
So just get the right combo to get tomb value to match the desired value 3 times. Yay. if you pass the puzzle, you have learned binary.

But if you fail at life, you can just pay a guy in the tomb to pass the puzzle for you.

-The coloured orbs appear when summoning, the symbols are the japanese characters for "Call"

-I've partially rebuilt the rainbow tower. It has no content... but you can explore the lobbies and whatnot. Im hoping to have SOME of the saffar, quiz, arcade and prize zones completed. Probably just 1-2 (maps/quizpacks/minigames)

-Shroomish will be found in a bait spot in route 8(next to soluna forest).

-After you take the train back to amplus, you can take the train to Khubla village at any time.

-In the rainbow tower, if you approach the door from the top, you'll jump over it. Just a small thing I put in there to make traveling through the rainbow tower easier.

-Lastly, you may or may not have realised my avatar has changed. That man is Solid Snake. the greatest soldier alive, stright from the greatest game series Evr! /MGS fanboy

Im pumped, can't wait for the release. I like the orbs with the japanese characters as well. I have to admit that I am a little disappointed that rainbow tower will not be completely finished, but at the same time it's probably for the best because I would probably spend a lot of my time there instead of playing the game.

Also, did you make it harder to level up? I know you talked about it, but I don't think it was in either of the last two posts that referenced the update.

Last but not least, congratulations to BCKC and NikNaks for becoming the writers. I better not any misspellings or a missing a comma or I'll pm you two a hate message lol jk.

Yee-haw, update!
I like the screenshots. You're doing a pretty good job thus far.
*reads some more* Wow, we get Shroomish now? Great!
....Rainbow Tower... oh well, I guess you have to put a casino in there somewhere. :D
*goes back to reading post* I like the orbs. They're colorful! (It sorta looks a bit weird, the way Regirock's sprite is positioned. Poor Charizard...)
Altogether, it looks great. (like the avatar, by the way.)

Loving the game so far, truly amazing. But all Corrupted pokemon I've seen so far have had simply newer D/P or R/S sprites instead of those awesome evil-looking ones I've seen in screenshots. Also, I don't know how to evolve my pokemon XD.

Sorry to be back so soon, but I have a bug to report.
The game crashed when I tried to swap my Butterfree (Beady) with my Natu (Psyche) in storage. Everything seemed okay. I went to the Pokemon Storage, selected Psyche, selected the swap option, swapped with Beady, and it seemed normal... until...
Game: Beady was deposited. Psyche joined the Team. (or something like that. I can't remember the exact dialogue at that point.)
Me: Great!
*Game crashes. Message box pops up.* Message box: Event script referenced a hero that does not exist. *I click OK, game shuts down.*
Me: Well this sucks. :'

I'm not sure if this phenomenon takes place with all of the other Pokemon I have in storage. I'll have to check...

EDIT: This error occurs with the following Pokemon: Teddiursa, Hoothoot, Spinarak, Natu, and Digglet. I haven't obtained all of the catchable Pokemon in version 0.4. (Like Pineco.) So I don't know if that bug affects them.

@Evilade: You need to equip an evolution stone to make your Pokemon evolve. With Pokemon that evolve by level (Which is almost all of them) you need to equip the Levla Stone. (You obtain it via Prof. Oak's aide after you fulfil an event. I sadly don't remember what that event is... you do get it early in the game, though.) With a Pokemon that evolves via Thunderstone, Fire Stone, etc., you need to obtain that particular stone and equip it to the Pokemon that you want to evolve. This works in version .4. It might not work like that in later versions.

:) <- That's all I want to say xD

Yeah, I miss the v.25 [actual] corrupted sprites.
Also, I have hurt my right middle finger, which is basically the center of balance for my right hand :( Might not post as often.

Hehe, do I have to PM you the spelling errors? I'm kinda lazy :P
Finally, just from looking at screen shots,
Psy Beam -> Psybeam
Ellipses after "I better take a nap"
Missing periods after some sentences such as "Sorry, the train is totally booked"

Last but not least, congratulations to BCKC and NikNaks for becoming the writers. I better not any misspellings or a missing a comma or I'll pm you two a hate message lol jk.
Just read it over yourself :P

Also, thanks to DForte, Omn, and whoever else congratulated me :)
