Welcome to the region that started it all: Kanto! The beginning of the original adventure, the place where the most iconic pokémon can be found, and the base of operations for the malicious Team Rocket!

On your way through this region, you will not only collect the original 151 pokémon, but exotic immigrating breeds from other regions might make an appearance once in a while, and you are sure to stumble into pokémon capturing events, fight back against Team Rocket scenarios and be thrown into various adventures together with Kanto's gym leaders!

SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER...

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR KANTO?
With any Meta Journey region, you go to the Meta Hub to sign up. Once your region leader has told you that you are accepted, you can see your name in the roster in the region thread - this thread! The Hub is situated in the Theatre (main forum) for easy access, but the region threads sit in the Roleplay Casting subforum. Basically, go sign up for Kanto in Meta Hub thread, and then come back here to start collecting!​

HOW DO I COLLECT POKÉMON?
We'll call this the "Meta Journey" for a reason. You won't be making any roleplaying posts in this thread directly. Rather, it is what you do in other threads that matters!

For each 2 IC posts you make in the Roleplay Stage, in any normal RP, you may choose one pokémon from the current area in your region to add to your collection. Simply make a post in this thread, linking back to two IC posts you have made in real roleplays.
You cannot use posts that were made before you joined the Meta Journey.

Note that every time "IC post" is mentioned in the Meta Journey, we require them to be over 100 words in length. Otherwise they're not worthy...

Also note that a joint post (JP) together with another player also counts - for all included players, as long as each of you wrote at least 100 words! Meaning, you can use a JP you participated in, as if it was your own post.​

You can also spend 6 Theatre posts, as these are equal in worth to 2 IC posts in the Journey. All Theatre threads count, except for ones with the Chit-chat prefix

Meaning, even posts in the Hub count! As long as they were made after you were accepted into a region, of course.

If there isn't a pokémon you want on the current route, you can just keep track privately of your accumulated posts and use them later :)​


AM I SUPPOSED TO POST "IN CHARACTER" IN THIS "META RP" ITSELF?
Not in this thread, no. If there are events in the future, you might be able to use your Meta Journey character and pokémon team in special IC threads over in the Roleplay Stage subsection! Keep a lookout in the Meta Hub and in your region (which obviously right now is Kanto <3) to see when the next event is open!​

Pallet Town (Japanese: マサラタウン Masara Town) is located in western Kanto and serves as the hometown of Red, the protagonist of the Generation I games, as well as several other notable Pokémon Trainers who begin their Pokémon journeys in Kanto. Professor Oak's Laboratory is in Pallet Town, where the famous Pokémon Prof. conducts his research.
The small town is accessible in two ways: from the north via Route 1 that leads directly to Viridian City, and from the south via Route 21, a water route, that leads to Cinnabar Island.​

The latest news has spread quickly around town; the Pewter City Gym Leader, BROCK, has returned to his duties. Every trainer should jump at the opportunity to challenge him, and get a chance to win the famed BOULDER BADGE

You needn't do anything to partake in this challenge - after all, it's natural that a travelling trainer such as yourself would rise up to battle... but whether you win is a different story. To defeat BROCK, you will need to expand your team to at least contain:

- 3 Pokémon total
- 1 evolved Pokémon

Additionally, for any Pokémon on your team whose type is super-effective against the leader's type, will allow you to shave off one Pokémon from the 'total' requirement.
If you win the battle, BROCK will award you with the BOULDER BADGE

A long tunnel dug by wild Diglett and Dugtrio, it is famous for connecting Kanto routes 2 and 11. Regardless of where your travels in the region lead you, your journey wouldn't be complete without passing through Diglett's Cave.​
