It makes it easier to text the word 'now'. You have to hit the 'mno' key twice to get the 'n', then wait a couple seconds before pressing it another three times to get the 'o'. Then you can go hit 'w'. Alternatively, hit 'n', go straight to 'a', and then back to 'o'. It's all time-saving strategies.

Plus it's KAWAII DESU DESU!
You don't have to wait if you use word/predictive

I just realized that I don't know who the crap any of you people are.

I'm going to go stare at something unstimulating for a while.

EDIT: I'm currently eating cupcake sprinkles. Straight. Unstimulating fail.

HI! My name is Astinus, though people tend to call me "Asty", for some reason.

Anyhow, I'm 22, employed, single and not looking, I don't want kids, and I have a very unhealthy obsession with Orson Scott Card.

My hobbies include reading Card books, writing Card fanfiction, and aborting pixelated babies for the lulz.

And you?

I'm txteclipse, and no, "txt" does not stand for "text." I'm nineteen, employed, single and not looking, don't want kids, and have a perfectly healthy obsession with Latias.

Hobbies include fanfiction, listening to way too much Imogen Heap, building computers, breaking mp3 players, and apparently talking to a bunch of people I don't know. Also burning things, up to and including me.

I just realized that "txty" is pronounced almost exactly like "txt."

I don't know, Asty. Put two and two together, and it sounds like you are looking. ;)

By the way, I'm icomeanon6. And, for those who don't know how to pronounce it correctly, it's "I Come Anon 6." It was after being quoted as "icemeanon06" and "icemeanom6" that I realized my name is really hard to read.

I'm single, not looking, and have around thirty four kids if you count the clones.

At any rate, it does seem like there are a lot of new faces in the lounge. This is what happens when I go absent for weeks or months.

Hi I'm Feign, I am currently an undetermined age, though I've left several hints (I mean who'd believe me when feign's the name? XD). I am single, looking *stares* and wanting to populate the planet with my seed. Also I want to start a bed and breakfast with satan

Props to anyone who gets the reference.

Ohmygosh! This is the new Lounge! Time to introduce ourselves! ³

Hi everyone my name is Solovino, I'm 20+X, student, unemployed, single, not looking, but wouldn't mind having a job and/or girl. My name comes from Spanish for "he came alone" because, well, I get to places alone what were you thinking it was, eh? and it's also the name of a cat.

My hobbies includes spending time doing almost nothing at the Writer's Lounge, programming, social commentary and videogames.

I like to see too may faces here. New people!

Quote:

Oh my gosh I was there. And you were there, too. And you too... That topic was so much fun after the whole "But saying that I'm not allowed to portray Professor Oak as a senile old coot who paints ekans' as dratini and gives them to newbie trainers isn't something I'd welcome with open arms" blurt-- I mean WTLULZ!!!!!

People here talks in a very specific fashion about Serebii for some reason. Maybe we should collect the funniest thread for reference...? Because here at the Lounge people are so serious!

Introducing ourselves? Is this a short of an intervention? M'kay...

I"m Bay, 20 years old, single and not looking, and a university student. Hobbies include reading, writing, watering the plants at my backyard, and watching movies. Speaking of movies, many people think I'm Michael Bay, which I am. :D Here, have a Bayplosion!

*gives everyone a Bayplosion and then the whole lounge explodes*

Opps...

Height? Won't say as I'm actually shorter than Breezy.

Screw the rules, I have green hair, definitely. And he's my friend, too. >.>

And yes solovino, here at the lounge, everything's serious business. :D

Hi, my name’s Dagzar, I’m unemployed, single and not looking, and in high school (the horror). I generally enjoy spending my time playing Pokemon, reading fanfiction, writing fanfiction, drawing fanfiction and anything else to do with fanfiction.

*nods*

Now, why are we randomly introducing ourselves again?

Hey, my name is Lash. I'm sixteen years of age, unemployed, single and not looking, and I'm entering my junior year of high school when I still have two more years to go after that.
I'm a major music fan, I wouldn't be able to live without music. I try to reference music from my favorite bands into my fanfiction, another passion of mine. Whenever I'm not writing fanfiction, I'm playing Pokémon games and/or watching TV.

We're introducing ourselves because we have a new guy, txteclipse.

Yay comparisons that are really stretching it!

...Although if you try really hard, you can relate everything to the Civil Rights movement. Or the Holocaust. And if you're particularly skilled and really want to piss everyone on the internet off, you'd be able to relate them to each other.

Quote:
I think it's funny (besides the Civil Rights analogy) because I think he stopped after he read your examples and completely ignored the following paragraph that started with, "Point is, all too often, I see the "canon is a safety net" argument and the "canon restricts my creativity" one, but it's really not supposed to be like that unless you're not entirely confident in your use of canon" because his major argument was "canon restricts my creativity."
Oh yes. I noticed that.

Spoiler:
What's hilarious about that is the fact that this line that you've just mentioned was actually somewhat mocking anyone who complained that canon restricts their creativity by implying they're incompetent writers who don't know how to dance around canon to make whatever they do logical and understandable from the fans' perspectives.

Yeah, if anything, it sort of makes it even more failtastic. I mean, sure, anyone could learn about the Civil Rights movement, but to fully understand it, you've really got to have a serious understanding of the American culture, something I highly doubt a teenager from England has. I mean no disrespect to the English who are reading this right now, but I can only wonder how many of you have studied the Reconstruction era extensively. Sure, the slave era was a major part of it, but the Reconstruction era really screwed over the African-Americans, and it only built up from there.

In other words, the acts of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, Jr., may be touching, but what not too many people realize is that it wasn't just "the good fight." It was a nonviolent ending to what was practically an unofficial war. To compare that with a fight against something extremely trivial (and is, anyway, built around completely different attitudes) is more or less like saying the Japanese death marches of World War II were just like taking a brisk walk.

This actually kinda makes me want Gregory House in my Pokémon universe. Can anyone just imagine what a Pokémon center would be like with him around?

House: "It's lupus."

Also, hi. I'm Valentine, and according to some people on PC, I'm older than Jesus. Employed. Single but looking for other dictator-conquerors. If you happen to be Genghis Khan, however, you need not apply.

I'm dotKarma. Feel free to search my age up on your own. It's shown. I'm single, not really looking for a relationship, I'm just interested in meeting new people. I spend my days playing Pokemon, reading (both fanfiction and books), attempting to finish a one-shot I've been working on, and listening to music.

Waitaminute. Since when was txteclipse a new dude?

Anyway. I'm Sparkles, I'm 1* years old (not telling - suffice it to say I'm in high school). I'm single, and most definitely not looking. Never have been, probably never will be. I was five foot eight last I checked, and I used to read a lot, but now I spend all that time writing.

Well I just tried Darkfall today... And it is difficult for me... Especially since I'm not a regular MMO player...

I died sooooo many times, and am at a pretty low level... So many buttons to press...

Plus the help guides are more than useless... They talk about everything but the important stuff. Oh like how to equip magic, or how to eat food... Ugh... This would be so much easier if it were real life...

I don't like MMOs. Apparently all the good ones are pay-to-play, but other than that, no. Just no. I have a Runescape account that hasn't been touched since January '08. It was fun for a little while, but it got really old, really fast.

I hate word prediction programs too. They take all my mean worded texts and change it into cute creatures that waddle and quack.

"What the duck?"

Anyway, I'm Breezy, 19, and I'm addicted to lottery scratchers. Actually, maybe just the scratching part. I don't really care if I win. Oh, and I like telling people to juggle when they're bored. I also have this odd fascination with the edit button.
