Just a screen showing Aurelia City, and Parker the male character for Turquoise.

Damnit! I knew I'd heard Aurelia somewhere before. It just kept popping into my head while I was thinking of town names and I couldn't figure out why. Now I know, guess it means I can't use it.

Onto your actual screenie though, very high quality sprites you have there. I like the look of your houses and your PC, though the Pokemon Centre looks...I dunno exactly what, but something. The layout of that particular shot reminds of Saffron City, I should add.

Oh and with those little bits of fences you have there, you should make the stick out-y bits at the ends curve off or have them continue into the buildings adjacent to them; either way works. At present it just looks like they've been sawn off.

Very nice Max, everything looks great overall. Although I recommend you give those fences a darker outline. They blend withe the background path a little too much, on top at least. I also think that your main road would be nice with some texture, even some gritty dots or something along those lines, to give it that paved feeling rather than looking too smooth. Other than that everything looks great to be honest.

That Worldmap looks incredibly cool, how long did it take you to make it?

Not that long actually, I made it in, like, 1-2 hours. The most dificult part is the actual concept of the map and the location of the towns I guess.

Contrary to popular belief, it is Game Freak that works on the Pokemon games. Nintendo just does the licensing and such.

Thanks :D, I did it pixel-by-pixel using the official colour-scheme etc for inspiration.

Thankies! :D, it was difficult to get started with, but once you get going it's not too bad.. just very time-consuming.

The battle system received a major graphical overhaul today, and this is the result.

I'm liking the battle system, though I recommend that you change the text colour, or just the shadow colours as they make the font quite hard to read. On the text boxes that is. Are the sprites animated?

Though I also recommend making both the HP boxes the same colour.

I really like this screenshot. As previously stated, it's simple. But that's really the beauty of it. The lush trees really go with the calm lake. (I'm assuming it's a lake), and the palette just works. Though in the future... if you're showing your new overworld, make sure you aren't in shade so we get a better visual.

Now this is a screenshot. Everything here works; you've got a good fog going, you've applied what I can assume is a green and or yellow tone, and the tiles are really nice.

Screenshot Two
Again, I really like this. Autumn is definitely one of my favorite seasons visually, and you pretty much nailed it. The big tree is really pretty, and the houses look pretty good. My only nit pick is with the rock/mountain tiles, you have some grey pixels on the outside of it (attempted shadow maybe?), I don't really think it looks all that fantastic, but it's not too distracting.

Map from my open source Game Maker Pokemon game:

Shadows and Flowers are not included as those are objects, and not tiles.

I am currently looking for someone to improve and make tiles for me. Preferably B/W style. You can track my development at my deviantart page.

Looks good, glad to see you are making progress with it! :D

If you want to take a screenie of an entire room, including objects, you could try using:

Code:
// Put in Key Press event or something
var sur;
sur = surface_create(room_width,room_height);
view_enabled = 0;
surface_set_target(sur);
draw_clear(c_white);
screen_refresh();
screen_redraw();
surface_reset_target();
view_enabled = 1;
surface_save(sur,working_directory+"SS.png");
surface_free(sur);
Works great for me when I want to include objects in a screenie OR when I want to take a screenie of a large map.

Made GM save a screenshot every step naming them 1,2,3,... etc and then imported them into old GM7, saved as a .GIF and adjusted the speed with Microsoft GIF Animator.

The GIF filesize racks up pretty quickly though. The main animated one on my DA is like ~12Mb lol. It does give pixel perfect quality however.

Still got a long ways to go till I'm satisfied with it, but here's some screens of the most polished stuff I have running.... C&C would be great.
