INTRODUCTION

Hello, I am, obviously, Yuoaman, and I am a Game Developer. Those of you active in the Game Development section will know me as the creator of two previously failed projects (Pokemon Unleash the Shadow, and Pokemon Rocket's Return). Now I return you with more knowledge then ever, and hoping to create an even better project that before, so with that in mind, I welcome you to my newest project, Pokemon Osirus.


WHAT AM I USING
For this project I am using RPG Maker XP, along with Poccil's Starter Kit.

STORY
In this game you take the role of a 13 year old girl or boy who has recently returned from the Trainer Academy in Torrent City to their hometown of Everdant Village, both community's found in the Shikou region. Soon after you return your mother tells you that Professor Laurel has asked a favor of you. At Laurel's lab you are told that he has lost contact with a colleague of his, as-of-yet unnamed, working at the nearby ruins of an ancient temple. The Professor then asks you to go investigate.

Once you arrive, you find this colleague's home in ruins, with the man nowhere in sight. After stumbling about the temple, you discover a switch which unlocks the room in which he had hid himself in from several intruders. As thanks for rescuing him he gives you a choice of three Pokemon (Really?!), which are not native to the region. Once you receive this Pokemon, you take it upon yourself to escort the unnamed Professor to Laurel's lab in Everdant Village.

On the path to Everdant, you are ambushed by a group of hooded men, calling themselves the Necrosians. Despite your valiant efforts, they manage to escape with the Professor, though not before knocking you out cold, just steps away from the village.

CONTESTS

You may have noticed in the Screenshot area that there are very few pictures of the battle system, that is because I am planning on using custom graphics, which is the reason for this first contest.

CONTEST ONE: Custom Battle Graphics

Prize: You get to be the first member of the Trainer Elite, and choose their Pokemon.

By looking at the battle screens, you'll notice a new Pokemon with a strange name- "Unnamed"- why, you may ask, that is because it has no name.

Darn! I knew someone would notice that. Well I do have an explanation. I just inserted the graphics into the charset wrong, though the problems have been fixed, so there shouldn't be any more problems of that nature in the future.

And yes, the starter is a Grass/Flying type, and all contest entries for the name (as well as the graphics contest) must be PMed to me, or I will overlook them.

Just like to say that all the official starters have 4 limbs, so a bird wouldn't really fit unless you changed its evolutions to have arms (like Torchic). Come to think of it, your Pokémon's head does look a lot like Torchic's...

There's a tile error on the houses. Put the mailbox on the 3rd layer and the house shadow on the 2nd.
The hero's charset needs to be rearranged (as people have already pointed out).

Also, your evil team's name is very similar to mine :P (I don't mind, BTW)

Other than that, it's looking pretty good. Oh, and as for the text in screens 12 and 14, perhaps you could use a different colour instead of brackets?

there are random spots of glowing light.

I don't really know what I'm going to do with the future evolutions of the grass starter, so it may come out having 4 limbs, but, if not, then it's just going to be something else original with this project.

And the tile error has been fixed, thank you for pointing it out. As has the charset.

And the name for the evil team was chosen for a specific reason, just think of other words, where 'sian' in used at the end of a word, and you'll have a basic idea of why it was chosen.

Those are from the street-lights which have since been removed, but I guess that I missed the events lol, thank you for pointing them out. And again thank you for your support.

Uh question.
What pokemon are going to be used for starters.
Cause i see you have charmander battling your grass starter.

We'll be using completely original starters, the Charmander is only a filler Pokemon, because, at the moment, we don't have back sprites...

Looks very nice so far, however in the intro the Proffessor, Boy and Girl sprites look very.. Condensed. I may be a bit rusty but I'm presuming this is the fault of the Script and the way the resolution was changed, not the way the sprite was made. But if that is the way they look outside of the game then you should probably think of remaking them.
