Ive actually done this challenge before, but... I didnt record my progress here because I didnt know it actually existed :O. I beat my rival on FireRed using my ultimate FIRE move, BLAST BURN! I defeated the challenge in HGSS, DP, and I also did Emerald. I think thats the challenge right? I got HGSS with my Charizard, again, and I got my DP with my Infernape, my Emerald was won by Blaziken. If Im missing one, tell me and Ill do it right away! Ive got DP, HGSS, FR, and Emerald done.

Got ROCKY to the same level as BOULDER, which was 34, after defeating many trainers. During my raid on the Rocket Base under the Game corner, both of them got to Lv.36, so I challenged Erika and won with a small bit of difficulty. Then I went and rescued Mr. Fuji, with BOULDER becoming Lv.39 and ROCKY becoming Lv.38. I then went to the route to the west of Celadon and defeated the Snorlax. Made my way to Fuschia, where I went straight to the Safari Zone and caught a Rhyhorn that I named PERIOR and got HM 03 and the teeth. Trained my team to Lv.40 and defeated Koga easily. I then flew to Pallet Town and surfed down to Cinnabar, avoiding all trainers, and revived a Kabuto, CUTLASS, and an Aerodactyl, STARSCREAM. I then trained those two to Lv.40 while liberating the Silph Co., with CUTLASS evolving. BOULDER got to Lv.42 during my second encounter with Giovanni, and ROCKY to Lv.41. I then challenged the Fighting Dojo, and got ROCKY to Lv.42. In the actual Gym, PERIOR got to Lv.41, so I used a Rare Candy on it to evolve it into a Rhydon. Now I am training CUTLASS against the trainers in the Gym, and then I'll face the trainers on the Cycling Road and the route in the middle of the path connecting Lavender and Fuschia to get it and STARSCREAM to Lv.42 to challenge Sabrina.

You can make as many as you want. Nobody has tried all 17 at once, because frankly, you'll need 17x4=68 games to play. Tis better to do them one or two at a time, methinks.

- Day 1
I, Sting, started my adventure in the region of Kanto today. I never really liked big and powerful Pokemon, though. Even Squirtle feels to be too big for my liking. I guess it's a good thing that Net chose to try and one-up me by choosing Bulbasaur. Poor guy. I feel sorry for him.

I have acquired two young Bug Pokemon within ten minutes of leaving Palette Town - A Weedle, who I have named Randor, and a Metapod that likes to be known as Sylva. Eventually, the two of them will be able to overcome the forest Viridian. My sights are set on the Pokemon League, but to get there I must first pass through the den of... well, let's just say that these little boys that haunt the Viridian Forest will feel ashamed to have dabbled in what I, Sting, will master. DABBLED!!

(There seems to be a scrawl of insane scribbling at the bottom of the page... Upon further inspection, you see the words "Wallace of the Green Fears the humble Nincada")

- Day 2

I, Sting, seem to have run into a snag. Randor is too frail to take down most of our victims on his own, and Sylva has no offensive moves. Three times out of four, I must retreat and heal without having scored a victory. If Randor had a guaranteed poison attack, it would be easier to train.

In other news, Loli and her team of Titan, Alicia and Nida are still in Mauville, trying to decide whether to go boldly forward or to take a short trip to Verdanturf first.

I would like to begin this challenge. It seems like a lot of fun. I'll be using the Ground type, and starting on Pokemon Red, which I'll play on my SP. I don't think I've ever played red before... but I'm going to. I choose to use the ground type, and hopefully finish this challenge! I'm gonna call myself
'Durt'. I'll try and update my team here every two gyms.

haven't had an actual update in a looooong time. it's a small one though..

I got tired of grinding underwater, so i decided to take on kyogre with my level 42 crobat. I'm glad i did.

Since MY crobat has god-like speed, he could start the battle by using confuse ray. With a lot of luck, he hit himself, which helped me with my next phase, beat him to a pulp with fly. After i flew up for the first time, he snapped out of his confusion and used ice beam. I thought, "Oh damn." I hit with fly, but he hit me with ice beam. My first though was, "Ok, who should i send out next..." But then, to my amazement, crobat had 5 hp left! I used fly, he misses his next two hydro pumps, and that's all she wrote. Next, Wallace, or what ever his name is.

Wallace lives up to his name.
He started the battle with his almost useless luvdisc. I start with my crobat. First move, confuse ray, and it hurts itself. next move, fly, hurts itself again, and BAM. its dead with a critical. Next on his lineup, sealo. I knew i was gonna have some trouble with this one. i used confuse ray and tried to spam fly, but he healed it. By time i got it back to where we were before, it finished me with an auroa beam thingy. Well, almost. I finished it with bite. Next, he sends out milotic. I confuse it and it blasts me with ice beam. i use a hyper, and it hurts itself, thankfully.. i fly, it snaps out, and i die in the next 3 turns.. Next, Muk. He with draws milotic and sends out whicash. i use sludge, instant poison, and die by earthquake. I send out swalot, he finishes the job, barely, and he sends out seaking. kills swalot, seviper poisons it, it dies. Final pokemon.. Milotic.. again.. It finishes the job seaking started, and i send out my final pokemon, weezing! My HM slave was still up, and weezing has terrible hp, so it was either do or die.. well, more like do then die, or just die. Self destruct, and that was the end of it.

I tried to beat them earlier, but i failed because i ran out of hyper potions and revives at draco.. not gonna happen again

Sidney:
I started the battle with muk, for his brick break move. It took one brick break and one sludge to kill the mightyena. Took out all cacturne, shrifty, and sharpedo with swalot, using sludge. And absol died easy to muks brick break. Sooooo much easier than the first time.

Phoebe:
I started with seviper for it's 2 dark type moves. Took the first dusclops out with one critical crunch(yess). Took Sabeleye out with 2 earthquakes. After seviper crunched banette, leaving it with one hp, it used psychic and i had crobat finish the job, after they used a full restore. 2 bites took it out. I sent out my HM slave, so i could revive seviper, and after it fell, crobat almost took the dusclops out. A full restore came into play, then, crobat froze and died. Seviper got one crunch in, then died by an earthquake. Weezing used explosion.. then i remembered that it was a normal type move.. perfect.. I sent out muk, revived seviper, poisoned it, and they both died on the same turn. I sent out swalot and revived crobat, muk and weezing, and healed crobat and seviper. Then he died.. I sent out seviper and crunched it twice, ending the battle. easier than last time again! I love those interviewers!

Glacia:
Started with muk to brick break the first glalie. It only took 2. Kept muk out to try out his new sludge bomb.. brick break, and the poison did the rest. Healed muk for the second sealo, used sludge bomb, poisoned it, brick break, got frozen, and poison finished it.. again. Sent out wailmer so i could heal muk.. only got to cure his frozen..ness. sent him out and hyper potioned him. Sludge ombed the second glalie, then brick break. Next, Walrein.. Died by blizard, and sent out swalot and used toxic. attack it till i had to heal. then it used blizzard and finished swalot.. sent out weezing to explode. It would've finished it, but they she used a full restore.. sent out seviper, but died before it could do anything.. sheer cold.. I made crobat fly, to avoid any risks of dying, and he finished. Easier due to the fact that only one of my pokes died to sheer cold..

Draco:
Started with Swalot.. I don't have any dragon/ice moves, so i just chose a weaker poke.. Started with toxic, he used a full restore.. and i didn't toxic poison him this time.. i should've expected that.. finished it, and sent out seviper to attck the first flygon with dark attacks. crunched a few times, then swaped for crobat so seviper didn't die by dig.. got paralyzed after one wing attack, and beat him the next move. Switched to muk to fight the altaria with his new rock tomb move. After a few moves, we both die because it used take down. Took the flygon out with seviper easily with crunch. I sent out swalot for salamence, but died by one fly. Spent some time juggling around pokes, reviving them, the i sent out crobat to counter his fly by using it right after he does.. once. I finally got tired of reviving and sent out weezing to explode.. stupid battle.

Steven:
I didn't like this one.. The first 4 pokes he sent out were easy. metagross.. i started the battle with 38 revives. At when metagross didn't have anymore pp, i had 10. I hate metagross now.. For his last poke.. i had seviper use earthquake, she died, swalot used body slam twice, died. And weezing, i gave him a max ether and a hyper potion, so he wouldn't die before i could use it. He almost finished it. It was left with pretty much one HP. I sent my last pokemon alive, and he broke his bricks. Finally.. Steven, the champ.. has fallen..

Three down.. one to go.. probably won't finish this one till middle of november.. so i can get a job and buy one of the fourth gen. games..

Easily the best one on this team. Helped me get through a lot of tough situations. Didn't really want fly, but it couldn't really be avoided. On the next generation, maybe things will be different.

Muk was most helpful during the elite four. Mainly because he was the only one who could learn brick break, but still. He kind of suck at first, but, when he evolved, he became one of the best on the team. Sludge bomb was a god-like move. Sucks that i could only use it for the E4. Oh well...

Seviper was very helpful when training for the E4. Only for Crobat, Weezing, and herself. She also saved me in a lot of situations in the E4. She could have single handedly taking out Phoebe, but I had to the other some action, too...

This was Weezings worst generation for me. Even at the end, he didn't kill anything with self destruct or explosion. His stats kind of sucked, and he didn't learn many good moves, in my opinion. He may be better in the fourth generation, but I'll never know till i PLAY the fourth generation. So I'll wait till then...



Since I don't have a fourth gen. game yet, I'm going to start my steel one on blue. I'll breed a magnemite in gold and trade it for some random.

I have decided to do the monotype challenge. : ) I'm going to pick steel type. Not because I get to skip Kanto, but because is probably my favorite type. : ) I'm going to do it on my Heart Gold since it hasn't been finished yet and I hadn't even made it to the second gym on the previous file.

I currently have one badge and am on my way to Azalea Town. So far;

nocturnalninja, you can't trade, unless you don't find a pokemon that can evolve to that type, or if you need to trade to evolve. there's an onix in violet that you can trade for a bellsprout, and you can get a metal coat at the pokeathelon dome when you recieve enough points. So all you need is someone to trade with, which it looks like you've found already. good luck with it though. Steel is gonna be tough.

a small update on my steel challenge,
I forgot that gold didn't have skarmory, so i downloaded crystal and started over. Chose chikorita to make it more difficult, and i'll post an actual update later today.

Okay, so I beat Sabrina with little difficulty, and trained everybody to Lv.45. I then easily beat Blaine with CUTLASS. Then I ran out of trainers to fight, but I remembered that you can find wild Pokémon on Route 22, so I trained everybody to Lv.48 there and beat Giovanni. I beat my rival with a small bit of difficulty and made my way to Victory Road. In there, I got almost everybody to Lv.50(STARSCREAM was Lv.49) and defeated Moltres. I had meant to train against the Elite Four to beat them, but I ended up beating them with a team around Lv.50.

Battle Stories:
I went in with 32 Revives for later, 50 something Hyper Potions, and 18 Full Restores.

Lorelei:
STARSCREAM was defeated early on, but not before taking her Dewgong and Cloyster with it. PERIOR defeated her Slowbro and Jynx. Her Lapras was a pain though. It took down all but BOULDER, who I had use Explosion as a result of exhaustion(It was 11 at night) and boredom. That defeated Lapras. After the Battle I revived STARSCREAM simply so I could be defeated by Bruno.

Bruno:
STARSCREAM had a bit of difficulty with his first Onix, but it won. His Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee fell really fast, thanks to Fly and Sky-Attack. His second Onix was as hard as the first, but it too fell. His Machamp didn't go down easily, but it too fell, but not after defeating STARSCREAM. I actually had to use my starter, who I'd kept with me as an HM Slave and forgot to take it out of my party. Sadly, I didn't lose like I wanted to. Ember+Burn+Machamp using Status Moves and Missing Fissures=Three levels higher Charmeleon. I revived BOULDER after the battle because STARSCREAM was Lv.50 at this time.

Agatha:
BOULDER easily defeated her Gengar with a single Earthquake. Her Golbat fell to a Rock Slide, despite confusing him. Everything else fell to a single Earthquake each. Not much to do after the battle except revive and fully heal everybody to fight Lance.

Lance:
I had the largest struggle against his Gyarados. It took CUTLASS getting lucky and freezing it with Ice Beam, allowing me to heal everybody and to switch out for PERIOR in order to use a horribly weak Thunderbolt. Both his Dragonair fell to Earthquake from her simply because they didn't use anything other than Dragon Rage and Agility. Aerodactyl fell to CUTLASS's Surf with not difficulty. Dragonite was defeated by CUTLASS's Ice Beam, despite using Hyper Beam(Look up its Gen 1 effect and you'll see why I put despite). After the battle I healed up and readied myself for the Champion

Rival:
This took three tries before I finally won, so I'll go with the final one. His Pidgeot fell to a Rock Slide and a Mega Punch from BOULDER. His Alakazam fell to CUTLASS after defeating BOULDER and PERIOR. His Rhydon, Arcanine, and Exeggutor also fell to CUTLASS. Blastoise defeated my team several times over, but thanks to revives I survived. In the end, CUTLASS got a critical hit with Slash leaving it with more HP than a normal hit would do, but less than a critical hit would do. I prayed that Blastoise would miss and CUTLASS would get a critical hit. Blastoise didn't miss, but it didn't defeat CUTLASS, who scored a critical hit sealing my victory. I sat back and watched the end credits.

- made a literally head-banging teach Pi(a slave) Headbutt

Time for another update. I got through Union cave, destroyed Team rocket in the Slowpoke Well and saved Azalea town, yay. Bugsy didn't take long thanks to Hoothoot and neither did Gary's Bayleef. Got through Ilex forest and had a quick gambling spree in the Goldenrod game corner, before getting seriously annoyed at Whitney. Beat her eventually thanks to a few lucky Metronomes (Fire Blast, which also happened to burn her) and with the help of a quickly evolved Sentret. Anyway, I'm now on the way to harass a Sudowoodo, and Hoothoot just evolved. So it's as good a time to update as any :P
