Ok I am having a HUGE problem! After I beat Vessel and Giratina at level 80, the game camera spazzes out! I tried restarting but that did not fix anything! I know for a fact that I used the right ROM as I patched the game with the UPS patch. How do I fix this!

Yup, tried redoing that fight five times. Then I just deleted my ROM, re-patched it again (in case I did something in the game that may have screwed the ROM up), and yet again after another two attempts, the screen refuses to work properly, yet I see MegaHawkNelson on Youtube play at this part of the game and his screen works perfectly fine...so...umm, WTF? I've only seen maybe two other people from searching the thread that have this problem.

Please anybody who has played past that part, did you encounter this glitch and just continued on with the game like normal? Did you eventually fix the problem? I want to get past this part.

So yeah, did some more searching around today and it does seem as though some people in the Nuzlocke forum have encountered this glitch as well after version 15 came out, yet I hear from reading other parts of this thread from another user that it never happened to him nor the majority of Life of Guardians users. I'm honestly a little incredulous about that statement. First off, I used the UPS patch guaranteeing that I patched to the exact same ROM DJG used, eliminating there being any problems from using the wrong ROM. Second, I did not touch the ROM itself after I patched it and files on computers do not magically corrupt themselves. DJG said he fixed this issue but I'm left to wonder if that is really the case. I certainly would not be experiencing the bug if that were true and, like I said previously, I used the UPS patch, so I know for a fact it is not an issue with using the wrong ROM.

PS: Sorry if I sound angsty. I'm just pissed off that most people apparently do not have this problem, but I do. I seem to have absolute, pure, unadulterated, 150% genuine **** for luck when it comes to bad stuff like this happening in games I play. "Oh man! you only have a 0.5% chance to trigger this glitch! Don't worry about it!"

*Plays through game tens times in a row and experiences the glitch all ten times*

I'm also vaguely aware of a glitch that makes the final event un-playable and with my luck I'm pretty worried it is going to happen.

This is quite an annoying bug. I've fixed this too many times now and added fail-safe codes in that script too many times, and it still glitches. Ugh...

Anyway, no, I don't think it'll stop you from playing any further. It's just the camera that glitches, and not the game nor the event itself.

In all honesty, it only happened to me once, and I added fail-safe codes to the script.

It'll be of great help if you'll tell me in what part of the event will the camera go whack.
I'm having the sudden urge to make some updates, and I'll do them when I can spare some time.

Well, unfortunately now I have an even bigger problem that has broke my game. I just said "**** it" and decided to play the game with the glitchy camera. I beat the game, everything saves fine, I get through the credits, game goes back to the regular screens when I first start up the game, then when I go to select my save file....nothing but a pitch black screen. Can't open the menu, can't walk, can't do anything at all. My save file might as well have corrupted itself. Thankfully I have a save file from right before the split to do the good, evil, or neutral paths, so it won't be too big a setback to get back to where I was, but still, if you update the hack, there brings in the question of it working properly on an older version save file. I highly suspect the glitchy camera, since it stops right at the end of the last conversation after you beat the third final boss, is the cause of this problem. I'm guessing that it got the game camera "Stuck" inside of a wall somewhere when it saved the game. (Actually never mind about me being screwed, I just restored my save file to an earlier version)

Anyways, the glitchy camera starts after you beat Vessel. I was on the evil path, did NOT touch the green diamond nor did I examine all the green sprouts inside the Lost Shadow. I had 6 total badges. Earlier in the game, I went back to Breeze Island right before the final confrontation with the Dark Organization in Rintah Town, and talked to the Team Earth Grunt. This prompted a selection screen of my Pokemon party, all with "able" listed by their names. I selected the first Pokemon in my party, a Toxicroak, which caused the game to freeze, but the music still played fine. Also the Ralts in the Light catching script fainted as well. I also read somewhere earlier that you should not save in the bug catching building but I did. Finally, a Larvitar that I caught was holding a ?????????? item (which I'm guessing is supposed to be a Hard Rock as this is what they have sometimes when you catch them.) I took it off of Larvitar and examined it in my inventory. That should be about everything out of the ordinary I did that I think could cause the game to glitch up.

The glitchy camera starts after the battle with Giratina but before the battle with Zah. While the "Ug...ghuahhh..." text is on the screen, the camera is fine and functions as it should. As soon as I press the A button, it starts to glitch. It repeatedly pans in a South Western direction for about half a second, stops very briefly, then repeats. At the beginning of the camera glitching, I can see the protagonist and all the other rivals and elemental masters, but not the dragons. After about 20 seconds, the camera just gets repeatedly stuck in an entire screen's worth of cave tiles (I really can't describe these well, see the video below to know what I am talking about). Here is a video demonstrating the glitch after about 15 seconds of it occurring.

If I had to guess, I would say the glitch has to do with the protagonist running up from the lower, non-visible portion of the screen, to the visible portion of the screen with the dragons. Maybe the camera is locking into the lower part of the platform, but tries to pan up, which causes it to go crazy? IDK, just throwing ideas out there.

Also, I should mention two other design problems in the hack. In the Safari Zone, in the area where you can surf in that small patch of water, there is a silver chest stuck in a tree and cannot be obtained. Also, at the cave north of Guardia Town and East of the Hevah League, there is a strength boulder in front of a cave but I don't think it can actually be moved away, making it impossible to enter that cave.

Of course, I would love it if you would also go back and fix the glitchy legendaries and final events of Reign of Legends already being triggered without the player actually triggering them, as well as making UPS patches for Reign of Legends and Rescue Rangers, but even if you just fix the glitchy camera and the final event of the game not triggering properly (I'm talking about the glitch that Izanagi-No-Okami is talking about on the previous page), that would be great.

Anyways, hope that was detailed enough, if you need any additional info, just let me know.

I haven't found the cause of that bug though, but I did manage to fix his saved file.

From what I remember...

-There is a Celebi inside of Team Earth's base behind where Gaia is standing
-Silver chest stuck in the tree at the Safari Zone
-You can talk to the Team Earth Grunt at Breeze Island before you do the final confrontation with the Dark Organization event. Talking to him causes a menu of your pokemon party to pop up, all with "able" listed by their names. Making a selection freezes the game, but the music still seems to play fine.
-Floatzel's base defense stat is 20 when it should be 55.
-Larvitar is holding a ????????, when its supposed to be holding, I assume if you haven't changed what pokemon hold, a hard stone.

Just so I know, is it ok to use my version 15 save with this newer patch? Any special steps I need to take to get it to work? I remember you saying something about saving inside buildings to be safe.

EDIT: Some other bugs I found from other people in the thread.

-Evee holds a ????????? item. This is from one caught in the Safari Zone.
-Fishing in the lake where Zapdos is causes a missingo to appear.

Also found this additional post but I am not sure what exactly he means

i found a major glitch. when you go through the seen where you are in the other timeline and you have a really high level pokemon it will glitch and freeze. it pops open your pokemon and if you do anything it will freeze. its right after you stop talking to the shaman. when your supost to talk to the shyman when you wake up. i was going to defeat the vessel too. -__-

Yes, of course it's ok.
Just make sure that the name of the patched ROM is the same as your saved file, minus the extension name.

Also is Attack Order and Defend Order in this hack? Vespiqueen is not quite as useful without those two moves.

Let's see...Tyranitar learning Dragon Dance...I'd say either put it as a Tyranitar Lv.1 so it has to go to the Move Re-learner, or around 65 plus or minus a few levels.

Well as long as you are going to change some of the moves that Pokemon have, I have a few more suggestions...

(Actually, this post ended up MUCH longer than I originally anticipated, so only read when you are in the mood to read an essay post)







Croagunk/Toxicroak should be able to learn Earthquake (they can in the official games). They should also be able to learn Bulk Up to try and help out their mediocre defensive stats (Also since you replaced Bulk Up as a TM)

Kingdra should be able to learn Rain Dance, as the majority of its attacks are going to be based off of its special stat and it would also help to activate the Swift Swim ability. It should also have access to Dragon Breath and maybe a few good physical moves, as it has Dragon Dance as a move it learns (Which helps out its speed and attack...too bad it really doesn't get any physical moves)

Froslass is a more of a defensive / support pokemon than an offensive sweeper. I would suggest replacing some of the gen IV moves it learns upon level up that are not in this hack with moves such as Thunder Wave, Spikes, Taunt, Trick, etc.

Charizard has a whole slew of moves it could learn upon leveling up to suit its offensive nature. Sunny Day, Belly Drum, Dragon Dance, Rock Slide, Double-Edge, etc.

Steel Wing for Scizor please.

I would also suggest you buff Rock Smash and Flash. The former could do with a power boost (maybe to say, 50 base power would be good), and Flash should have its accuracy increased to 100% (its a freaking accuracy lowering move and it has low accuracy itself? Makes a lot of sense. </sarcasm>)

This is just from the Pokemon I used. Honestly, the lets play done by DoesntKnowHowToPlay, as well as his post in this topic, demonstrates a pretty glaring flaw of this hack, that being that quite a few pokemon are pretty useless, either because they don't get any good moves, or they get moves that are in the complete opposite spectrum of the role they are supposed to fill. I would suggest going to smogon.com to get a good feel for what moves are good on the Pokemon you put in this hack, as well as Bulbapedia for a list of which moves each Pokemon can learn and from which generation (you could add new moves to each Pokemon via what moves they learn upon leveling up to certain levels that are not available in this hack). Granted, this would reduce the usefulness of the Day Care in the game, but seeing as how so many Pokemon are not available to breed with to get the really good moves, I doubt many people would care (Honestly, a really cool change to the Day Care that would get it to see more use from players would be to make the baby pokemon always be a shiny pokemon)

Finally, and again DoesntKnowHowToPlay brought up another good point, if you want there to be good challenge in this hack (Which definitely seems to be the case), then you shouldn't be giving Golems Flamethrower and level 40 Floatzels Sonic Boom. Giving nearly every single Pokemon Double Team, especially frail Pokemon who really do not really have any time to set up, is bad game design as well, not to mention just gets plain boring to counter, as all you have to do is just use a move that never misses (Like Aerial Ace and Shock Wave, which the player receives just by playing the story) and Double Team becomes pretty useless. I should also mention that according to DoesntKnowHowToPlay, you gave a pokemon Choice Band, but gave it Double Team as one of its moves. If you are going to give a pokemon a Choice item, do not give it any non-attack moves. I'm not saying not to use Double Team, it is a very effective move on the right pokemon, but use it on Pokemon that can take hits well or resist a lot of types, like Kingdra or Scizor, and don't abuse the move. I would suggest taking a look at all of the "boss fight" trainers' Pokemon and consider whether or not their move sets are appropriate given their stats, abilities, and what level of difficulty you want for whatever part of the game that the trainer is at. Again, Smogon is a good place to put together effective movesets (Although considering how derpy the AI can be sometimes, some movesets might be less effective than others).

Soooo yeah, that was a mouthful, and I know that would be a lot of hard work, but it would really improve the core of your hack, as I felt this was one of its biggest flaws. Please consider it. I could try and help you out if it would mean the difference between you doing and not doing this request.

I also come with a couple more design flaws...

-In Sinister Woods at the area past the two strength boulders, it is possible to get yourself stuck with no way to get out (accomplished by pushing the right-hand boulder down as far as it can go).

-In the Mineral Cave accessible by falling down from the Gym in Boulder City, there is a Rock Smash boulder in the way of your path. It is more than possible to go down there without a Pokemon that knows Rock Smash, nor a Pokemon capable of learning Rock Smash, making it impossible to go on without killing off all of your Pokemon to restart at a Pokemon Center. I would suggest removing this boulder as it serves no purpose that I can see.

-Just a personal pet peeve of mine, but it kind of bothers me that Kevin ends up with two fire type pokemon on his team, as it makes the overall typing of his team a little un-balanced. Then again I do love Arcanine and Charizard, so I don't really know what to suggest here. I also felt that Ryan and Light should've had a sixth Pokemon added to their team as well, since Kevin got a sixth one. Just personal preference, do what you will.

-A couple of text errors during the final parts of the game at Dragon Castle.

-The sprite that appears on screen for Pokemon when you choose to make them surf sometimes has a glitchy palette.

-The animation of the doors of a house opening up cut into the houses at a certain town (but I sadly can't remember which one at the moment).

-Apparently if you collect three of the four Dragon Gods, there is a chance that Rayquaza won't fight you, even though he should, and this also causes Chaomega to act as if you have never met him before (he will tell you to go see Giratina in Shadow Valley).

-The animation of the protagonist watering a spot where berries can grow with the Wailmer Pail uses the original R/S/E sprite.

Some other suggestions to add to the hack...

-A guy somewhere in the Hevah league that sells held items like Leftovers, Choice Band, Bright Powder, etc.

-Pokemon that hatch from eggs are always shiny (would give more incentive to use the DayCare, plus a lot of the shiny Pokemon, like Charizard, look cool).

-Maybe replace some of the useless furniture items with far more useful battle items from gen IV and V such as Burn Orb and Choice Specs (which could be acquired from the guy in the Hevah league that sells you held items)?

-Rewards other than Nuggets for every mini game available (not that you should not have a Nugget available as a reward in the mini-games, just not all of them).

So, for the first time, I decided to give it a go on a hack that isn't for a 1st or 2nd generation pokemon game, and already my inexperience seems to be fatal!

I downloaded the american v1.0 of Pokemon Ruby with the mugs intro from dgemu, then used a patch to remove the intro!

Tested it, worked perfectly!

You don't provide a UPS patchers folder with the v15.8 patch, so I used the one in the v15.2!

And when I try to patch the game, this happens!

First off, I would suggest using the 15.8 patch as it fixes a lot of errors in the ROM.

Second off, you are using the wrong ROM. Try downloading another and continue downloading new ones until you see the message in the UPS patching program, "File patched successfully.", when you attempt to patch the ROM.

Yeah, I'm positive that my Ruby rom is messed up, because I just started playing Reign of Legends, and my starters are Murkrow, Rhyhorn AND SHAYMIN!!!!

How many of the new sprites are yours? for example exegglent and gravetone and just wondering if they are publicly usable or not like will you upload the sprites , and more importantly, will none "animated" sprites work in 5th gen games like black and white?

Yes I recommend you to use Exegglent but sadly it's pre evolution has a very frustrating encounter rate

I suppose it's fine for you and others to use the sprites on other projects, except for a few of course.
These are the list of custom-made PKMN sprites that doesn't really belong to me.

Spoiler:

1. Angeallen - sprite created by my brother, but the reference was from someone else.
2. Chaomega - this sprite is owned by Crosell.
3. Sprinephy - sprite created by my brother, but the reference was from someone else.
4. Skarmiger - sprite created by my brother, but the reference was from someone else.
5. Gabrieleon - reference belong to someone else.
6. Nefari - same as Gabrieleon.
7. Dohydra - this sprite belongs to Crosell.
8. Ice Dragon(forgot its name) - belongs to Crosell.
9. Felinar - this has a long story, but to make things short, this belongs to someone else and only allowed me to borrow it.

(Actually, this post ended up MUCH longer than I originally anticipated, so only read when you are in the mood to read an essay post)

Spoiler:

Croagunk/Toxicroak should be able to learn Earthquake (they can in the official games). They should also be able to learn Bulk Up to try and help out their mediocre defensive stats (Also since you replaced Bulk Up as a TM)

Kingdra should be able to learn Rain Dance, as the majority of its attacks are going to be based off of its special stat and it would also help to activate the Swift Swim ability. It should also have access to Dragon Breath and maybe a few good physical moves, as it has Dragon Dance as a move it learns (Which helps out its speed and attack...too bad it really doesn't get any physical moves)

Froslass is a more of a defensive / support pokemon than an offensive sweeper. I would suggest replacing some of the gen IV moves it learns upon level up that are not in this hack with moves such as Thunder Wave, Spikes, Taunt, Trick, etc.

Charizard has a whole slew of moves it could learn upon leveling up to suit its offensive nature. Sunny Day, Belly Drum, Dragon Dance, Rock Slide, Double-Edge, etc.

Steel Wing for Scizor please.

I would also suggest you buff Rock Smash and Flash. The former could do with a power boost (maybe to say, 50 base power would be good), and Flash should have its accuracy increased to 100% (its a freaking accuracy lowering move and it has low accuracy itself? Makes a lot of sense. </sarcasm>)

This is just from the Pokemon I used. Honestly, the lets play done by DoesntKnowHowToPlay, as well as his post in this topic, demonstrates a pretty glaring flaw of this hack, that being that quite a few pokemon are pretty useless, either because they don't get any good moves, or they get moves that are in the complete opposite spectrum of the role they are supposed to fill. I would suggest going to smogon.com to get a good feel for what moves are good on the Pokemon you put in this hack, as well as Bulbapedia for a list of which moves each Pokemon can learn and from which generation (you could add new moves to each Pokemon via what moves they learn upon leveling up to certain levels that are not available in this hack). Granted, this would reduce the usefulness of the Day Care in the game, but seeing as how so many Pokemon are not available to breed with to get the really good moves, I doubt many people would care (Honestly, a really cool change to the Day Care that would get it to see more use from players would be to make the baby pokemon always be a shiny pokemon)

Finally, and again DoesntKnowHowToPlay brought up another good point, if you want there to be good challenge in this hack (Which definitely seems to be the case), then you shouldn't be giving Golems Flamethrower and level 40 Floatzels Sonic Boom. Giving nearly every single Pokemon Double Team, especially frail Pokemon who really do not really have any time to set up, is bad game design as well, not to mention just gets plain boring to counter, as all you have to do is just use a move that never misses (Like Aerial Ace and Shock Wave, which the player receives just by playing the story) and Double Team becomes pretty useless. I should also mention that according to DoesntKnowHowToPlay, you gave a pokemon Choice Band, but gave it Double Team as one of its moves. If you are going to give a pokemon a Choice item, do not give it any non-attack moves. I'm not saying not to use Double Team, it is a very effective move on the right pokemon, but use it on Pokemon that can take hits well or resist a lot of types, like Kingdra or Scizor, and don't abuse the move. I would suggest taking a look at all of the "boss fight" trainers' Pokemon and consider whether or not their move sets are appropriate given their stats, abilities, and what level of difficulty you want for whatever part of the game that the trainer is at. Again, Smogon is a good place to put together effective movesets (Although considering how derpy the AI can be sometimes, some movesets might be less effective than others).

Soooo yeah, that was a mouthful, and I know that would be a lot of hard work, but it would really improve the core of your hack, as I felt this was one of its biggest flaws. Please consider it. I could try and help you out if it would mean the difference between you doing and not doing this request.

I also come with a couple more design flaws...

-In Sinister Woods at the area past the two strength boulders, it is possible to get yourself stuck with no way to get out (accomplished by pushing the right-hand boulder down as far as it can go).

-In the Mineral Cave accessible by falling down from the Gym in Boulder City, there is a Rock Smash boulder in the way of your path. It is more than possible to go down there without a Pokemon that knows Rock Smash, nor a Pokemon capable of learning Rock Smash, making it impossible to go on without killing off all of your Pokemon to restart at a Pokemon Center. I would suggest removing this boulder as it serves no purpose that I can see.

-Just a personal pet peeve of mine, but it kind of bothers me that Kevin ends up with two fire type pokemon on his team, as it makes the overall typing of his team a little un-balanced. Then again I do love Arcanine and Charizard, so I don't really know what to suggest here. I also felt that Ryan and Light should've had a sixth Pokemon added to their team as well, since Kevin got a sixth one. Just personal preference, do what you will.

-A couple of text errors during the final parts of the game at Dragon Castle.

-The sprite that appears on screen for Pokemon when you choose to make them surf sometimes has a glitchy palette.

-The animation of the doors of a house opening up cut into the houses at a certain town (but I sadly can't remember which one at the moment).

-Apparently if you collect three of the four Dragon Gods, there is a chance that Rayquaza won't fight you, even though he should, and this also causes Chaomega to act as if you have never met him before (he will tell you to go see Giratina in Shadow Valley).

-The animation of the protagonist watering a spot where berries can grow with the Wailmer Pail uses the original R/S/E sprite.

Some other suggestions to add to the hack...

-A guy somewhere in the Hevah league that sells held items like Leftovers, Choice Band, Bright Powder, etc.

-Pokemon that hatch from eggs are always shiny (would give more incentive to use the DayCare, plus a lot of the shiny Pokemon, like Charizard, look cool).

-Maybe replace some of the useless furniture items with far more useful battle items from gen IV and V such as Burn Orb and Choice Specs (which could be acquired from the guy in the Hevah league that sells you held items)?

-Rewards other than Nuggets for every mini game available (not that you should not have a Nugget available as a reward in the mini-games, just not all of them).

Regarding adding moves to PKMN, I believe I would need suggestions of what level would they learn it. I am not good at that field though...

Increasing the stats of both Rock Smash and Flash is a good idea.

The Double Teaming, yeah, I suppose I overused that move on a lot of battles. I will try and change them though when I can get the time. :3

And oh, I ain't good at giving movesets to PKMN, even to my custom ones, so yeah. =/

Oh, Kevin's team is based on what "kevin" has given me. He's a dude that helped me with the hack at one point, and to show my thanks, I turned him into a rival in the game.

I see if I'd be bothered to add a sixth PKMN to Light/Jude and Ryan's teams.

The sprite pallete error before surfing and the opening-door animation error, yeah, I have no clue what causes those. I did try fixing them, but I failed.

I'll check that Rayquaza bug. Thanks for reporting that.

Eh... Where'd you get the Wailmer Pail?
I never planned on adding that in the game. :\

I don't really know how to make new held-items which would be useful for battle.
Also, yeah, an NPC selling those stuff would be a nice addition. :3

If I recall correctly, the Wailmer Pail can be obtained in the Flower Shop, which is in Boulder City. One of the people inside give you it.
