Hmm... I'd like to join the Digimon RP too. I've read a bit of the .hack-series, I emphazise "a bit", but I don't remember too much about Digimon. I should probably look up some stuff to refresh my memory!

Now, aside from that Gurren Lagann-RP I actually have another idea. What about an RP based on the Wardstone Chronicles?

Since we are talking about based RP's, I might as well see what people think of my Gantz inspired RP.

So this is just a quick overview that I am playing with while I GM Atlantis Arising.

You wake up in the middle of a garden in the middle of a town unknown to you. Your memories are drenched in fog and the only thing you are sure of is your name. The only thing on your persons are the clothes you wear and a single watch strapped to your wrist. Around you are others in the same situation; all wear the same watch. The only residents of the small town are the people around you and an enemy. Trying to leaves ends in an invisible border.

Ideally, the watch shows the Characters a small holographic profile of their target, and they are to defeat whatever opponent appears. Depending on how they kill depends on how many points they get which they can use to buy weapons to better defeat enemies, memories, as well as miscellaneous other stuff. As they RP progresses, the Rpers will begin to find out how they appeared and figure a way out.

Questions, queries, comments?

I know its small, but it's late at night, and this is really just the idea I am toying with.

Hmmm, a nice idea. I'd totally join this if I had time.

I'm noticing a huge amount of suggesting here in this thread.

@Digimon Rp Uhhh, I'll pass. I didn't watch Digimon, so I don't think I'll be able to RP there.

@Gurren Lagann RP Sounds familiar. But I'm not sure if everybody knows it.

@Ages of Fire The concept is quite interesting. Maybe I should read the books in the future. But apart of that, again, I'm not sure all know about it.

@Bleach RP I'm fine with this one, for I know the series quite fine, but not as good as Pokemon, Naruto, etc.

@Soul Eater RP Now this would be interesting. Unfortunately, I only heard about it, so I'll need to read the mangas to join, which would take some time.

@Being Human RP I'm fine with that. Thanks, Skymin, for making me take interest on the series.

@Shadow Hearts RP o_0 Never heard of that. I'll look for it in the Net.

Whew, I wonder if I missed anything. That's all my opinions, folks.

Oh, and I wish somebody Revamped the Percy Jackson RP. I never got to join it when it appeared.

@-DeepImpact- I have read every Eragon as well. Have you read Anne McAfferey? And if you say no I will personally find your location and beat the snot out of you until you read her books. For those of you who don't know her I'll give you a clue, she is considered by fans (including me) as the Queen of Dragons! Yeah, she's pretty important.

@parallelzero OMG I LOVE .hack. I got the four games for the PS2 and have all of the manga and four novels that came out. I don't have anything GU related yet simply because I don't have the time to go search for it at the game shop or book store.

Spoiler:
.digi//TAMED

This idea came from me wanting to take Digimon and make something a little more original than just “the digital and human worlds are in trouble!” so I settled on this idea, ultimately. Since I grew up with the Digimon dub, I'll be going by dub terms for anything technical like digivolutions or levels.

.prologue//plot
Darkness. What had happened? You struggle to recall your own name, let alone the events that had occurred previous to falling unconscious. Your body feels light, ethereal, like you were one with the wind. Did wind exist in this darkness, though? It was cold, meaningless, and your stay felt like it had been an eternal one. One word floats to the cusp of your lips. “Tamer”. What did that mean? You felt like you'd heard it before in a forgotten dream. You dwell on the word for a time, floating through the nothingness, and you eventually remember something about what had happened.

You had connected to one of the newest virtual online games. It was called simply “Tamer”, and revolved around the idea of training monsters known as Digimon. All had gone well, having created an avatar, identity, and being sent to the game's starting world. That was when something had gone awry though. Error screens flashed red, and purple electricity danced around you dangerously. Moments later, you could hear but a single word spoken by an androgynous voice. “Welcome.”

What happened after was inexplicable. Your body froze and you were unable to remove the equipment that allowed you passage into the game world. Slowly you felt your energy drain from your body as your vision began to fade to black. You knew it, you could feel it. You were dying. You died.

If you had died, then what existence was this? Shifting through the darkness with an undetermined destination. Surely this wasn't what death was like. No, this must be the beginning of something new, you decided. So you waited. You're not sure for how long, but eventually it paid off, and you were pulled out of the void by a warmth you could not recognize.

When you saw light again, it was a light unfamiliar to you. The climate was not one you were familiar with, you could tell. You rose and looked around, seeing a familiar, yet unfamiliar landscape. There were others like you scattered around this odd forest, in a world with two moons. A group of monsters watched you from nearby as well. Digimon. You could tell this much. Examining yourself, you found you looked exactly like the avatar you had created for the game world. And you could touch everything. This was no game. You were a Tamer.

Some evil had brought you into this world for reasons you'd yet to realize. Your body was soulless. Dead? You wouldn't be able to tell for sure. The reality was that you now existed within a game world that seemed to be alive itself. The monsters all acted with individual personalities, goals, just like humans did. You'd have to learn to trust your partner, as well as those humans that became trapped along with you, if you hope to survive. And, who knows? Maybe someday you'll escape. I hear humans keep hopes like that to carry on.

tl;dr version
After receiving a copy of a new online game called “Tamers” which involved training monsters known as Digimon, you get killed in real life and brought into the game world, which is real as real can be. With your Digimon partner and new found allies, you must choose to search for answers to your predicament, while warding off the evil that brought you into such a dangerous realm.

Yes. Please. Reserve me already.

Back when I was 11 or something I wrote a story in school about two kids who got trapped inside a game and had to fight with fantasy trolls and elves and stuff to get out. It was wicked, I tell you. But it was the same concept, I mean :3 that was before I had heard about anything similar, so I made the idea up myself *proudnesss*

I've recently become a digimon loverrrr so I've roamed the web for some interesting digimon RPs actually. They all start in the same way, with some kind of explanation to justify the existance of a digital world at all. But parallellzero's idea makes even more sense and sounds really interesting.

That looks really awesome! I've been really wanting to be in a digimon RP lately, I definitly think it's a good idea. It kinda reminds me of season 3 a little bit with the video-game concept but that's it. It sounds totally original to me.

I'm thinking of making something that isn't supposed to last for several years. Something that has a relatively clear goal and where you still can have loads of interesting situations and character interaction on the way. Something like this.

Spoiler:

Spirit Tribes

A Roleplay About Indians And Pokémon
< theme song >

Once upon a time in the wild, wild west, there lived people who believed that they were part of nature and that nature was part of them. Every thing, living or not, had a spirit that was to be respected in every day life. When hunting animals for food or other necessary things, the people thanked the spirits for the gifts they allowed the humans to acquire. When chopping down trees to build with or gathering water from a well to drink, the people thanked the spirits as well.

But these humans were not a unified people. There were several tribes that constantly rivaled each other.
The most prominent ones were called the Mountain Tribe, the Forest Tribe and the River Tribe. They each had a mighty chieftain and powerful shamans to sway things in their favor. The names of the tribes originated from where the people used to live a long time ago. Nowadays all of them live in the same kind of area, even though the Mountain Tribe feel more strong when in the mountains, the River Tribe feel more free when near water and the Forest Tribe feel more alive when in the forest.

One day in the spring, where hostilities between the three great tribes had been calm and uncommon for some time, something dreadful happened. Monsters started appearing in the wild, scaring and hurting animals and people alike. The shamans believed it was spirits taking on physical form to punish the tribes for warring against each others. But no matter how much the people prayed and sacrificed, the monsters wouldn't stop appearing.

The chieftains saw this as an opportunity to attack the other tribes, as the monsters had likely decimated them too. When the shamans objected, they were silenced with the argument that if their tribe didn't strike now, the others would strike them first. Needless to say, the chieftains knew their enemies very well after so many years of hostilities.

As soon as three armies of warriors left the three main tribe villages, something even stranger happened. Children in all tribes were approached by small monsters that spoke and claimed to want to help them fight the evil spirits. When the shamans heard of this, they believed that while some spirits wanted to punish the humans, others still wanted to give them a second chance. The shamans were somehow sure that children in the other tribes had been approached by small monsters as well.

They sent the children out on a fateful mission - they must seek out the chosen children from the other tribes and prove that bonds of friendship can be made across tribe borders. They must unite the three tribe armies against the bigger threat that is the mad spirits. Only then would the humans be worth this second chance, and live.

You are one of these children that have been chosen by the kind spirits. You get to choose which of the three tribes you belong to.

Your spirit is a small, unevolved pokémon, but it will be referred to as a spirit. You get to choose what pokémon it will be. It can speak human language. It will be able to evolve after a while. If will have a number of pokémon attacks to defend and attack with.

You will start in your village and set off with other chosen children from your tribe (if there are any) and somehow make up a plan for how to venture through a northern american landscape to find the children from the other tribes.

After that, you have to come up with a plan to unite the three armies that are marching towards a war...

Now and then, there will be evil spirits attacking you. These are also pokémon and most often big and mean ones.

It's a little hastily made since I've been thinking of making an "indian" themed RP for a while and now mostly wanted to see if it would appeal to anyone. I can see how it might become a bit boring after a while... maybe some nice antagonists would cure that. Maybe even have some players sign up as antagonists, hm?

Well I think that this RP-idea is simply fabulous!!! Yeah, this is an RP that I'm pretty sure I'd join!

Mr. Nideous has returned? Wow, good to see you around again, dude.

@RHCP I do like the idea quite a bit, but I'm uncertain if I'd be able to join as I'm in quite a bit of RPs at the moment anyways...

I see a lot of people have actually been coming up with great ideas recently. Pretty cool.

That looks pretty cool. I've litterly never seen a indian RP before, and I think it looks pretty cool.

I posted my Maximum Ride RP, I worked about four or five hours on it. I'm not perfect, but I think I did good, for me at least.

So hey guys, I'm here looking for a Role play. I was reading a few of the plots and they all seem interesting but when i scrolled down to check some example registrations i saw heaps of writing. I have not got a lot of time on my hands so I'm looking for an amateur Role play, where i am not required to write heaps of writing but it also fun at the same time.

So, anybody got any selections of RP's for me?

@Darkness vs Faith If you are interested in a rp for beginners then I would suggest joining Earth and Sky: Pokemon Battle Royale. It's mainly made for beginning rpers and if you scroll through it and it's OOC you'll see that it doesn't require high maintenance to join. Many of the SUs I've seen have only about a paragraph or less for stuff like personality and other stuff. Quto just wants people to have fun and it's really a RP where you can pretty much train yourself in writing better posts so you can join the other RPs on the site. Quto pretty much accepts anyone who applies, other than that you can just look through the roleplay corner and see if there's something suited for you.

@Darkness vs Faith: It varies between the various boards, but yeah I have to agree that the RPC is an exceptional place.

What would people feel about either a steampunk rp or a futuristic gladiator type thing...? If that explains it :b. I can give basic ideas for both if you wanna hear them.

@Alley Cat, if you got a plot or outline for those, I'd love to see it. I haven't seen a good steampunk setting in a while.

Basically everyone is their own race of alien from their own planet with their own merits and shortcomings. Enslaved, set to fight in an arena/run the "gauntlet" or something of similar demise. They'll be tested to the extreme in all sorts of different tests and tasks all for the amuseent of some unknown crowd. You never know when you're being watched blahblahblah revelation somewhere in the middle, work towards an escape/shut down of this wicked establishment.

As for the Steampunk...

I don't have too strong of an idea... but it would be a sandbox, more or less. With some plot points/loose guidles to connect the characters and actually allow for interaction. I'd probably need some help creating cities and other areas and legends and myths of the land or whatever. It would heavily be a pirate/airship type deal. It would probably follow the crew(s) of one to two ships depending on how many people are interested/playable spots on the crew. The whole idea is to leave it sort of loose to have to the players make the story themselves.

I like the Steampunk idea. Maybe zeppelin crews and everything instead of actual water-designed ships. Kinda like a Bioshock-style setting for towns, maybe?

I read Indian and I got confused. You mean red indian right because I'm pretty sure I don't have mountain tribes and river tribes in my country and we don't have shamans either :(
