I know Johto and Kanto are used the most often for journey RPs but I still like them best. Johto the very most, maybe because of the traditional scenery and 2nd gen pokémon. I know Hoenn even better than those, I think, but for some reason Hoenn doesn't have the same nice, deep feeling to it. In my opinion, and each and everyone is entitled to have their own ;)

Since I don't do Pokemon roleplays im going to have to ignore the topic..

Point of my post is to ask if there is any interesting fantasy/magic etc roleplays with spots open atm? I'd really like to join one but they all seem to be full.

Oh sweet, an FE fan. I've only played up to Radiant Dawn though, since FE11 is just FE1 remade (with horrible name translations in my book). Since I've already played the original, I didn't bother with the remake. As for Zelda, I've played up to Skyward Sword, but in my role-play idea, I'm using Twilight Princess, as I favor that more.

Both Tellius and Hyrule have things in common, and this role-play I wanted to demonstrate that.

It's set 1000 years after the events of the game (Tellius) and current Hyrule. So all canon characters are proclaimed "dead", with Zelda being the exception since it's just after TP. (No Link appears, though)

Anyone that played either of the series can join this. Don't have to know both, but it's a plus if you do. I'll also try to keep it spoilerless as possible for those who haven't beaten SS and/or RD. (but the introductory can't promise that)

Plot below:

[spoiler]
What's going on now?
It is around one thousand years later into the lands of both Hyrule and Tellius. Hyrule had fallen into the hands of darkness once more, however, this darkness was thwarted by an incarnate of the Spirit of the Hero, the Hero Chosen by the Gods--a being whom protected by the strange darkness changed shape into that of a beast with blue eyes. Tellius, around this time, is at peace when the issues of Hyrule are occurring, and continue to remain this way. However, there are strange happenings in the once peaceful Tellius. Strange creatures that are unrelated to the ways of the laguz have been spotted abnormally, causing mayhem, first beginning in Crimea. However, the Knights of Crimea have responded to the odd occurrence and thwarted these creatures now labeled as "monsters" by the nobles. Hyrule is seeing it's share of this strange happening, seeing unusual beings that don't normally belong in their populace. They don't even speak their language!

The question everyone wonders is: just what in the world is going on? Is it another curse from the depths of the evil ones?

The real plot isn't until the role-play's started, though this is just the introductory into it; weird happenings in both lands.

I don't want to make this a generic "evil person wants to control both worlds" idea, so.

So... Can you explain the plot a bit more? Who are the players, what are they doing, etc.

Because if you're looking for a Twilit Wolf, look no further.

Lol the text is all crossed out.

The plot I still have to lengthen more, if it's going to be here. As I've said, I've been working on it since I last posted about it. I wanted to have it as a "surprise!" plot and begin to weave it through the role-play, making it suspense and the players. Heavy clues to figuring out what's happening and how they can "stop" it from progressing. That would have been a fun idea, but with me only knowing the plot, it would seem a little unfair, so another reason I have to expand it.

What I have so far is that hylians (and monsters) from Hyrule that appear in Tellius mysteriously are treated unlawfully, much like the Branded were. They are neither Branded, Beorc, Laguz or those without power that used to be Laguz.

Same is likewise for beorc/laguz that appear in Hyrule.

The players are the people who join, and I'll probably want only 5 people (3 as minimum) for it, not including myself. Namely due to the fact I have a short attention span and can't remember some things without looking back at something else to help me remember it.

I am a zelda fan (despite the fact i've played AN HOUR OF SKYWARD SWORD *criescoughboughtitforthesountrackcoughcries*) but i've never really understood how it could be roleplayed.

I like to think that to see if a series can be roleplayed, you ask yourself; could anyone do this? With zelda, no, link is the hero of time. The only hero of time. And a 'reincarnation' or whatever.

But I've never played fire emblem, which i keep meaning to because someone said it was tactics-y and i love me some tactics.

also, to help with your plot other than world domination, you could go with *both worlds are connected and CRASHING INTO EACHOTHER (lol)* or portal to other world is a BLACK HOLE THAT WILL SWALLOW EVERYTHING or some kind of impending natural disaster.

If this was the sort of forum where people were up themselves and held grudges, perhaps you would be right, but I can pretty confidently say that this wont be one of those cases, it would completely ruin the point of the event, especially with it being the very first RPO.

Besides, it's a Pokemon forum, not exactly full of douche bags xD

I do have a question about the mentioned Zelda x Fire Emblem RP: which Zelda game would it take place in? After all, different games feature different timelines and different Links (as well as different Zeldas, different monsters, and what is likely the same Ganon/dorf). I'd expect that it wouldn't take place in a particular canon and would feature a world that is made up of various enemies, characters, and places that appear in various games, but that's just me making a prediction.

Region.... well I've only RPed in Hoenn and Sinnoh. I think I would like to try Unova some time. For some reason not too interested in Johto or Kanto (never played through my heartgold).

Zelda RP could work heck its Role playing almost any thing could be role playing. We could role play 5 people stuck in a white room with no windows or walls... just will be boring.

I really should join a RP... maybe that Bleach one...

For the topic I honestly have no real preference for region. They all have pros and cons and although I cant say I have roleplayed in anywhere near all of them yet (being relatively knew to the board still).

On a side note...Out of interest is anyone aware of there ever being a Game of Thrones based RP on this board? I would think it strange for there not to have been with the recent popularity of the HBO series and long standing cult following of the books. Seems to me that G.R.R Martin's Westeros lends itself pretty naturally to roleplay. I may be wrong (being new to RP and probably quite ignorant) but I would be interested in working on it with someone or joining it if someone decides they could do a better job than this lowly newb.

Either Johto or Unova are two of the regions I like to be in. For cities I like both Azalea Town and Iccirus City. I know both regions very well and both have some of the most amazing cities ever. <3

YOU'RE BOTH GOING TO LOSE if you keep up with dat rivalry attitude.
lol j/k go cwp you can do ittttt <333

Don't really care about who wins in these events. The most important thing is that we all should have some roleplaying spirit and we treat these RPOs like the actual olympics...they aren't an "everyday" event!

Hyrus is similar, but they don't have any spots open at the moment. I think. Ask Supervegeta or Raikiri. d:

Ah, I will have a look. I asked out of curiosity more than anything else. Most large/popular IPs seem to have been RPed here at one point or another yet could not see anything related to A Song of Ice and Fire.

I'm a zelda fan but unfortunately I know nothing about Fire Emblem. :( So I can't say that I would be interested in that RP, even though the crossover does sound fun.

Anyways this is late but good luck to all the participants of the RPO!! Have fun and make sure you tear each other to shreds trying to get those emblems

Yes! Go join Pandora. It's cool. :3c

Also color me interested in this Zelda/FE crossover RP. Big fan of the FE games. I played all GBA titles (that's 6, 7 & 8), as well as the FE1 remake for the DS. Gorgeous series is gorgeous, if I'm not too occupied at the time the RP comes out I'll join it in a heartbeat. <3 I'm the opposite of DI though, I've never played any Zelda titles...please oh please don't kill me. But seriously, if you're interested in the RP and haven't played any of the games, I'd suggest playing at least one with a narrative (Zekda 1 and 2 are fun, but three (A Link to the Past) and above are good places to get a good understanding of the universe and the characters). Really, any of them are good to start with since the order of release isn't constant with the order of the games (in most cases), and you won't be lost if you haven't played the previous games (even in the case of the direct sequels, though with Majora's Mask it's better that you've played Ocarina of Time, first)

Sticking to the current topic, I'd have to say Sinnoh. While my roleplaying experience in the region is limited, it happens to be my favourite of the main five, so I'd imagine enjoying the experience there just a little bit more than the others.

Anyway, considering this is part of my three-point plan to get back onto Pokecommunity, I've concocted a roleplay idea which might be worth posting here, if only to work out some of the kinks in what I've got so far. Here's a brief description of the roleplay idea, I suppose...;
The roleplay takes place upon a series of islands south east of Hoenn's mainland. These islands have yet to be fully explored, having only been discovered by a ship which hit rocks and drifted off towards them. Many are surprised to find that they even exist, as there is no record of them ever having existed beforehand. Some believe that they are similar to the Mirage Islands, and some argue that it was hidden behind fog created by Rayquaza himself. There is no evidence to support either claim however, and it is likely that they were never found before because there is almost nothing on interest in the immediate area.

What was more intruiging was that the islands are clearly inhabited... or at least, were inhabited. Great towers of stone tear from the surface and miles of catacombs run beneath the ground, linking many of the islands together in a maze of stone. It quickly drew the attention of treasure hunters and adventurers as one might expect, seeking whatever wealth the islands might bring.

However, money was not the only kind of wealth thought to be found within the halls and forests of these lands. Various scientific and historical communities (specifically those focusing on the research of ancient cultures) took note of this amazing discovery, and within a fortnight the area had been designated an area of special interest. Private property. Few were allowed to even step on the island itself, let alone explore the ruins that lay across it. For the next few months, the island was not touched again.

People had been recruited, however. Archeologists, historians specialising in ancient cultures, various types of scientist and of course, Pokemon trainers should a little brute force be required. They were given but one goal. Search the islands from top to bottom and leave no stone unturned. Discover what secrets lie in wait within the constructs of stone and metal. The roleplayer will play one of these people, chosen to help with the expedition in any way they can, and will soon be off on their way to exploring these grand ruins.

But something about these ruins brood the idea of danger. A soft nagging at the back of your mind. It's likely just the wind biting against your skin or the clouds gathering the the north, or just your imagination getting the better of you. It'll make for an interesting story no matter what happens...
I suppose brief is a subjective term. It gets across the necessary information I suppose. :3 Let me know what ye' think.

@Grif of Hearts: Now in my opinion and from the brief description given the RP sounds very interesting however it also sounds very similar to Pandora. This may not be the case (as you said the description you gave was rather brief and vague) but that is my impression. I'm sure if more information was provided then it would not sound as similar and I look forward to reading more about it!

I'll be honest, I've yet to look through the Pandora roleplay, but if you say that the ideas are similar then I shall look through it and see what I can do to change that.

Now that you mention it, reading through the other roleplays might have been a good idea. Not for gathering ideas or looking for inspiration, but for making sure that none of my ideas tread on the toes of other roleplays. For all I know there's one already out there that's exactly like mine. :L I shall do that now! Thanks for the heads up.

--------------------------------------------------

EDIT: Yeah, I can see what you mean, Arctos. Particularly similar starting point, I think. Pandora and the yet-to-be-named islands share several similarities. A region once inhabited by an ancient people, only for it to collapse and leave ruins in its wake. And then in both ideas the characters are setting out to uncover something in the ruins of the old civilisation.

Luckily I'm only in the early stages. I think it's unlikely that both ideas'd trail off along the same lines. I can't find anything hinting towards a similar story, just a similar starting point... I'll try and spice it up a little bit. Chop and change, mix and match, etcetera, etcetera.

@Grif of Hearts: Sounds good. It wasnt a criticism just a heads up! Even if the starting points were completely identical no two RPs end up the same. I look forward to reading more about it once you've finalised everything.

I know it wasn't, but I'm glad that you pointed it out for me. :3

As I said, I'm still going to work through the general starting point and spice it up. Thank you for the assistance, Arctos. *tips hat*
