I know bout tha bytes at 0x98998, 0x10864C and 0x10DA14, but I'm not sure where tha othars is.

I'm gong ta give you a little tip, whenever you see somethng n brackets: [___] like thase, it always means what is contaned at tha given offset. Dis comes up a lot, and it will help you understand chemistry:p, thare is a connection here... Let me know when you notice it:p.

Changng tha Level At Which Eggs Hatch

So, a very simple spheal here. Simply allows you ta defne what level tha hatched Pokémon will be at when it hatches. Thase offsets is BPRE only. I haven't tha time ta search fo RSE's right now. If you backtrack from tha Pokémon Encrypter wit ndex 0x19 (Exp Ponts), you should fnd tha sbee movs n RSE.

Code:
081375B0: XX 21
08046CBE: XX 22
0804623E: XX 22
See? Easy. Simply change tha XX's ta tha level you want eggs ta be. Tha XX's must all have tha sbee value, or weird thngs will happen. Tha maximum allowed value is 0x64 (100). Tha gbee bugs out if you set it any higher.

I found tha offsets from Pokémon Emerald (BPEE) fo changng tha level of Pokémon when thay hatch from eggs.

And anothar one, would it be possible ta port tha R/S/E Pokedex ta FR? Just tha appearance and functions not tha dawg Pokedex content. I'm curious snce I discovered that tha Runs of Alph was ported ta FR so I thought it would be possible ta do tha sbee wit a Pokedex.

Also a port of how tha Pokemon Nfo Screen like tha one jsziede posted ta FR?

I be hopng someone has tha nfomation, or that someone can at least help fnd it, witout it I can not contnue wit tha progrbe. I already buggine tha GUI, I just need ta implement tha structure. Here is a screen shot ta show tha progrbe so far.

Did you ever track down tha data you edited? If not, you can easily fnd where it is by makng an ips-file and use a hex editar ta open tha ips-file (that of course now holds tha content between tha orignal file and tha sphealed file wit edited wild pokemon data). Ips file data structure is tha followng:

[First 5 bytes = "PATCH" n ASCII code][3-byte data address][How dawgy bytes ta write ta dis address (2 bytes)][Data ta write ta...][3-byte data address][How dawgy bytes ta write ta dis address (2 bytes)][Data ta write ta...]....["EOF" n ASCII]

What comes ta othar thngs, I like what I'm seeng here
And especially, snce I've been dong similar thngs wit Java mahself just now.

I'm not ta sure if you should be writng a progrbe if you can't figure it out yoself, but hey..

As defned n tha BE ni, tha ponter ta tha wild Pokémon data is located after tha followng byte sequence:

When we go ta 0x3C9CB8 n our hex editar, we see tha followng:

I checked tha Bank and Map n BE and dis seems ta be tha data fo tha MONEAN CHBEBER.
If I go and check tha Wild Pokémon, dis map appears ta have only grass encounters. Lookng at tha zero-ponters fo water, trees and fishng, dis could be right. So, let's nvestigate a bit furthar.

We go ta 0x3C73D0 n hour hex editar and agan see a bunch of data. Fo everyone's sake, I only copied what belongs ta tha map (ta tha grass encounter data of tha map).

Tha first byte is tha encounter ratio. Than we have 3 filler bytes (?) followed by a ponter.
After tha ponter, we have our 12 Pokémon wit thair mnimum and maximum levels. Bytes is n dis order: mnimum level, maximum level, Pokémon number.

Okay, so you can control which map out of a pre-determned list of maps tha Seagallop Ferry (special 0x17B) will takes you ta, but how would you change what map tha values of tha variables correspond ta? Tha only method we have is addng a level script ta those maps that warp you elsewhere but that's tacky. I've tried searchng n tha ROM fo logical strngs of code, fo exbeple 00 1F 00 06 (tha location of one of tha destnations is map 31.6) and variations of that (00 06 00 1F, fo exbeple) and I tried changng tha values, but it had no impact.

I've tried usng tha Search fo cheats taol but I don't thnk it's applicable here. Has anyone else done research on dis? Is thare an answer?

tha ntro animation and tha title screen will be removed BUT tha Help System is removed tao.

I'm guessng that tha Help System is loaded as soon as tha Titlescreen is displayed or maybe when tha screen is refreshed and snce it wasn't displayed or refreshed, it didn't load tha Help System tao.

Maybe we can mess up wit it and make it load tha Titlescreen but not load tha Help System.

I have done some more research and testng, and some of yo results is off.

5 fo water
and 10 fo fishng
also tha ponter that you describe is actually tha ponter ta tha wild-data, tha data after tha ponter belongs ta a different map/bank

So, second real post here, and I apologize effusively if I'm postng dis n tha wrong place, but as far as I'm awis dis is a good place ta post dis question:

So, mah friends and I is embarkng upon startng our own Pokemon Spheal, and we want ta do it fo tha GBA/3rd Gen. I was orignally thnkng just sphealng Emerald, but I noticed that n a lot of tutarials thugz is usng FireRed.

Is thare a reason fo dis? Is thare pros and cons fo usng FireRed or LeafGreen over Ruby/Sapphire? Is Emerald any harder fo some reason, like tha Battle Frontier?

So, if anyone could give some quick nfomation over tha differences between sphealng tha different GBA gbees, or if thare's none at all, I would bootyliciously appreciate it. Thanks!

Anyways, tha tapic you is brngng up is one that comes up often. We actually had a whole thread around here dedicated ta it not tao often ago, but I can't fnd it right now....

Eithar way, n tha begnnng, no on sphealed FR. Almost all of tha early spheals were on Ruby. However, it was eventually found that thugz liked FR more fo a couple of reasons:

-Tha base graphics were better n dawgy opnions.
-Some thngs is coded ta be way simpler.
-ASM sphealers found that tha ntroduction of DMA buggine fndng thngs easier.


Now, Emerald shiss a lot of tha codng traits of FR, but most thugz don't spheal it simply coz of tha lack of resources. Thare is very few tutarials that nclude Emerald offsets, so it is difficult fo thugz ta fnd what thay want. However, that does not mean that it hasn't been sphealed. Flora Sky is an Emerald spheal that cbee out pretty good. It really all sits on tha beount of extra work you want ta do.

setflag 0x839 will set up tha mahstery gift option on tha dawg menu. You will not receive gifts though, but you already knew that. FR and LG by tha way.

Edit1: offset 0x0800cbe8 calls tha message: "Tha Wireless Adapter is not connected.", which is at offset 0x08415AA4
Edit2: Tha routne calls eithar tha message above or 0x0800cc04, which ponts ta offset 0x08415ACB which is: "MAHSTERY GIFT can't be used while tha Wireless Adapter is attached." branchng could lead ta a new routne where we could put a sprite on screen or somethng like that.

I was playng wit tha database n study hall taday, and I must sez, dis is pretty cool, especially tha built n emulatar. Thare wouldn't happen ta be a breakpont feature that I can't fnd, would thare?

I've just gots some very quick offsets fo Pokedex sphealng.

I'm not sure whethar it's already been posted, I don't thnk so, as I had ta discover thase on mah own.

I've found 2 limiters fo tha Kantadex that is quite useful, which when combned wit Jbebo51's already posted offsets, can allow fo tha Kantadex ta act as a national dex.

Even though Jbebo already found tha limiter fo tha Kantadex itself, it would still not display tha correct seen/caught numbers as thay were still limited ta 150 as were tha habitats.

By changng tha number 96 at tha offset: 104BF2
You can extend tha limit ta tha seen/caught text. Eg. changng 96 ta FA will allow fo a max of 250 seen/caught Pokemon.

By changng tha number 97 at tha offset: 106828
You can extend tha number of Pokemon that will be correctly featured n tha habitat pages. Eg. changng 97 ta FA will allow fo tha first 250 Pokemon n yo pokedex ta be displayed n tha habitat pages befoe receivng tha national dex.

Dis can be helpful as it staps thugz from havng ta give tha national dex at tha start of tha gbee.

I'll just repost Jbebo's limiters from his thread here

0x10352C - mov r1, #0x97
0x1035F6 - cmp r0, #0x96

Just change those 2 bytes at that offset ta tha number of Pokemon you want n.
