Moderator-approved threads take at least 24 hours at minimum. It may take longer, depending on if the mod is on a hiatus of some sort or not.

One thing though, I accidently made a thread in the wrong forum. How do I tell the mods not to post it?

The mods will realize that the thread doesn't belong, and simply won't post it. They know what goes to their specific sections.

You typically don't get an infraction for something that minor, and you're pretty new at that.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Just gotta learn from your mistakes.
