Hmmm... camera position and camera angle... interesting. I will do some research in map_matrix, because I don't know if the header is stored in land_data_release.narc

Also, does map music changing need to edit the sound_data.sdat? Because that's not good if you want to swap two map songs...

Why not trying by looking at the Action Replay codes that modify camera angles? I know there is Crazy Zoom for DP, and the presets in DPPtHGSS, and the mods for BW in the USERCHT.dat file on my Flashcard.

That's how he did it. I think there is a header for that, though. I'll peek at Project Pokemon and see if I can find anything on that.

Yes, that's a header.
You can swap what you whant.

Only indoor Maps are "affected" by the change.

Something I thought of is that with the Pokemon BW camera action replay code, if you enter the bag, the game crashes. I wonder if that would happen if the angle is modded, and hardcoded into the ROM.

I have finished my investigations on texture editing.
Now, i can you tell what you can edit on the Maps (with DS Map).


(In Twinleaf Town)

3D= Trees, Barrier, Border of water...
2D= Flowers, Border of ground, Ground, Footprints, Grass blocks, Water, Shadow of trees...



Textures replacement :



3D : Yes
2D : Yes



Textures hiding / reducing :


3D : Yes
2D : No (black blocks)


Replace block by block :


3D : No (Every value is unique, and only for one square)
2D : No (Every value is unique, and only for one square)



Move blocks :


3D : Yes (Hard but possible)

Well, what I had in mind is that if I wanted to remove a house from the town, could I simply "delete" it, or would I have to hid it from view?

I can help with the multilingual interface and get it into English for you. I'll put it in my best translating ability. :D

For models that's more easier.
You just need replace the model by nothing "Aucun Modèle (Supprimer)" in SVN releases.

And you can restore the original model even after delete




Edit : I have added a poll.
You can tell me if you want test PT, HG/SS and BW Map hacking in the first release.

Oh, and that's my last research (Crazy zoom analysis, new BW Maps...)

I'll be reasonable here. Obviously I'd want HGSS, Platinum and BW map hacking right away, but that would take much longer.
I'd say a DP version to start wit, the a new version compatible with Platinum, then HGSS, then BW.
Or maybe wait until Platinum's done, release DPPlatinum version, then when BW come out worldwide, release the BW edition? if it isn't possible, that's fine

Yes, but if i take three years - that's an example - for create the DP Map Editor, i don't want take another three years for create new versions, you understand?
