Here we go. Not much has happened, but I'm gonna be doing other stuff for a bit so I thought I would update.

I hope some more people start doing this challenge, it's working out pretty well and its more fun if your posts are spread out farther lol.

Back to the paragraph format.

So after I beat the rest of the trainers in Pokemon Tower, Royal evolved into Haunter (originally evolves at L25, I caught him overleveled...) and I taught it Thunderbolt so it could do damage against the many Normal types in the game. Went down south and killed the Snorlax, then came back up and went back to Celadon City to get a few things.

The first thing I got was the Rainbow Badge. No one could touch Royal in there due to his secondary Poison typing, and my only concern was whether I would run of of PP. Defeated Erica easily (Confuse Ray is AWESOME) and got my fourth badge! The second thing I got was HM02, Fly, which I forgot to get the first time, and taught it to a Pidgey that was stashed in my box. Then I went west and killed the second Snorlax, so I could finally deposit that annoying Pokeflute. The third thing was to get a Fresh Water from the Rooftop. Gave that to the gaurds, and it was time to conquer Saffron City!!!

The first thing I did there was grab Psychic from Mr. Psychic (totally awesome moment every time I go there) and taught it to Royal, as it was a better move than the Dream Eater it would try to learn in a few levels due to Dream Eater needing Hypnosis to work first. Confuse Ray is better than Hypnosis as it's way more accurate, and I wanted to keep Night Shade. Raped the Fighting Dojo with Royal, then picked Hitmonchan and boxed him. Now I am inside Sliph Co. getting ready to terrorize Team Rocket. I still don't think any other villian comes close to Team Rocket, especially with Giovanni at its head, and the Sliph Co. building with all of its warp tiles has never been equalled by any other "hideout" yet.

I have used Royal almost exclusively since my last update, so he's the only one who has changed on my team, along with the new addition of Pidgey.

Keep forgetting to rename my Pokemon - will do so after Sliph Co. (won't rename Pikachu though, and this is the last time I will list him), and will also evolve Machoke and Haunter after Sliph Co. as well :D.

Team Wes:

Royal (Haunter) - L37
Thunderbolt
Confuse Ray
Night Shade
Psychic

Gyarados - L36
Body Slam
Dragon Rage
Bite
Bubblebeam

Machoke - L39
Rock Slide
Dig
Low Kick
Mega Punch

Charmander - L10
Scratch
Growl
Ember
Cut

Pidgey - L15
Gust
Sand-Attack
Quick Attack
Fly

Pikachu - L6 (boxed)
Thundershock
Growl
Tail Whip
Flash

Also, if you didn't catch the update on the first post, I am willing to make custom userbars for Ultimate challengers. Just PM me with your team. I have a custom one in my sig for reference.

I'm not looking forward to facing Gardenia...

I'm going to post here before I go to bed. I'm playing pokemon heartgold, and I'm using golem (yes, I'm fairly sure I can trade a graveler and get it back to get a golem), gyarados, and typhlosion.

Very small update. I have cleared out Sliph Co, which is way funner in the original than the remakes with the warp tiles lol. Giovanni was a pushover - Psychic is awesome.
Some highlights:

Spoiler:

Jesse and James again...And theeerrrrre's Meowth!!!

CONFUSE RAY ANIMATION RAWKS!!! Looks SO much better with a GBC then the B&W GB that I had the last time I played a Gen I game. This was against Giovanni btw.

After beating Giovanni, I deposited the Lapras I got (named Shippy), then went back to Lavender Town and renamed my Pokemon and evolved Machoke (now Biff) and Royal into Machamp and Gengar. New team is below, with new names as well. Am about to challenge the Saffron Gym.

Team Wes:

Fangor (Gyarados) - L41
Body Slam
Dragon Rage
Hydro Pump
Bubblebeam

Biff (Machamp) - L42
Rock Slide
Dig
Low Kick
Mega Punch

Royal (Gengar) - L42

Psychic

Slasher (Charmander) - L10

Aaaaaand I'm done!

Final update:

Spoiler:

-Travelled to Sunyshore City
-Got Volkner to go to the gym and easily defeated him
-Went to Victory Road and completed it
-Got to the Pokemon League and battled my rival
-Battled Aaron, who was somewhat annoying because of his Yanmega and Drapion getting a crit on Torterra.
-Battled Bertha, who was fairly easy because of my Floatzel.
-Battled Flint, easiest battle ever because Floatzel outsped EVERYTHING and KOed EVERYTHING with Waterfall.
-Battled Lucian, who was again pretty easy, although Espeon got on my nerves.

And, finally...

I had an epic duel with Cynthia. Floatzel freaking owned as always. The thing what was pretty epic about this battle was how my Floatzel (My last Pokemon, BTW) survived an onslaught of Dragon Pulses from Milotic with 2 HP left, then when Garchomp came in and I KOed it with Ice Fang. With 2 HP left. I love how trainers say, "This isn't the end," and I KO them on the following turn.

The winning team:

"Weaselz" The Floatzel @ NeverMeltIce
Lv.62
-Waterfall
-Crunch
-Surf
-Ice Fang

"Birdz" the Staraptor @ Fist Plate
Lv.61
-Wing Attack
-Close Combat
-Brave Bird
-Return

"Turtlez" the Torterra @ Quick Claw
Lv.59
-Razor Leaf
-Crunch
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide

And an overview of how each Pokemon did.

Floatzel: Floatzel began as the underdog of the team, not sporting enough speed to overcome Staraptor and not having good enough defenses and attack to surpass Torterra. He grew, however, into the MVP. Floatzel nailed all the Pokemon that would otherwise completely destroy me fast and hard. I would have never made it past Barry in Canalave City if it weren't for his Aqua Jet owning Infernape. Overall, Floatzel was the best Pokemon on this team and basically won the E4 for me.

Staraptor: Staraptor was a powerhouse from the start, and still is. The thing helped me out so much during the course of the story, it's not even funny. Staraptor was a fast and powerful threat to any that stood in my way, and those who stood in my way were devastated by Staraptor's awesomeness. Overall, Staraptor was an invaluable Pokemon that should be a staple on everyone's team in game.

Torterra: Torterra started out as a little Turtwig as my starter, but grew into a freaking beast with patience and grinding. Torterra was able to take multiple hits and retaliate with great attacks. Although he lacked speed, he made up for it with his defenses (Which my team would lack without him). Even though he didn't do very well at the E4, Torterra was one of my favorite team members that pleased me every time I sent him out.

So, I'm done with my challenge! I might do another challenge with my Ruby version, but I'm not sure yet.

BIG update from my last post. I have done a lot of stuff, but after you get Fly, things go quicker in terms of plot, not to mention that the speed button helps . Spoiler tags for the details!

Spoiler:

So I beat the Saffron Gym pretty easily, Fangor was using Body Slam a lot, and Royal was able to kill pokemon with Thunderbolt as well. Sabrina really took a step down in this game, like several of the Gym Leaders (Lt. Surge as well as Koga later on), when compared to Red and Blue. She has three Pokemon, all at L50 - Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam. Not really anything to worry about. Alakazam was able to put down Royal, but Fagor came in and Body Slammed him for the KO.

Then I was on my way to Fuchsia, even though Koga's badge technically comes before Sabrina's (I was actually pretty underleveled against Sabrina). Cycling Road is always fun, especially since the Bicycle has never really been the same since Gens I and II. It just looks bulky and it rides weird (the turns I guess) in Gens III and IV. I haven't played B/W yet so I don't know about Gen V, but I assume it's the same as Gen IV. Anyway, upon arrival at Fuchsia, I went straight for the Safari Zone, where I got Surf on the second try and then got Strength as well from the Warden. Surf went to Fangor, replacing Bubblebeam, and Strength was taught to Slasher, although I will probably teach Strength to Biff later, as it is more accurate than Mega Punch. Took on the gym with Royal, who crushed everyone with Psychic and Thunderbolt. Koga was, as I said earlier, a disappointment, with 3 Venonats and a Venomoth, all who went down to one Psychic. Hardly indicative of a Gym battle.

Now that I had Surf, I was able to go to Cinnabar, but before that I finished battling the rest of the trainers on the other side of Fuchsia City. Then I surfed from Pallet Town to Cinnabar, taking care of the trainers on the way. Went to the Pokemon Mansion and got the Secret Key, along with several other items, including some vitamins. Crushed the Gym with Fangor, and took down Blaine with Biff for the Volocano Badge and Fire Blast (useless). Then I surfed east and battled all the trainers on the wasy to Seafoam, then Flew to Fuschia and went south for the final trainers in the Kanto region, aside from the Viridian Gym and Victory Road.

The final stop on the Kanto Gym circuit was back in Viridian City. The trainers in there were no match for Fangor and Surf, and they all went down. Fangor learned Hyper Beam just before fighting Giovanni. I had a close call against Giovanni, but was able to pull out the victory with just Fangor left. Here's a play-by-play:

Spoiler:

Royal vs Dugtrio: Psychic, dug hole, Nightshade (miss), Dig (critical hit!), Royal fainted!
Biff vs Dugtrio: used Guard Spec., dug hole, sand attack, Dig, Dugtrio fainted!
vs Persian: Double team, Low Kick, Screech, Mega Punch (miss), Screech (fail), Low Kick, Persian fainted!
vs Nidoqueen: Tail Whip (fail), dug hole, Earthquake (miss), Dig, Tail Whip, Mega Punch, Nidoqueen fainted!
vs Nidoking: Earthquake, Biff fainted!
Fangor vs Nidoking: Surf, Nidoking fainted!
vs Rydon: Hyper Beam, Rock Slide, recharge, used Guard Spec., Hydro Pump (critical hit!), Rydon fainted!

I must say that that Guard Spec at the end was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen, as Rock Slide had taken 70% of Fangor's health, even if my stupid Hyper Beam was even dumber .

After I got the Earth Badge and Fissure (useless), I healed up and went to the Power Plant to fight the final trainer there and kill all the Voltorbs marsqurading as Pokeballs. Picked up Thunder on the way and a couple vitamins, then killed Zapdos with Biff's Rockslide after Royal was Drill Pecked to death after confusing Zapdos with Confuse Ray and a neutral Thunderbolt. Taught Fangor Ice Beam and Biff Earthquake just to clear out room in my bag for some items lol.

Then I started my way to Victory Road, where I encountered Gary for a "warm-up."

This battle was a bit easier, as his Pokemon were underleveled (I was underleveled against Giovanni's last two Pokemon), and he still hadn't evolved his Exeggcute.

Another play-by-play:

Spoiler:

Royal vs Sandslash: Psychic, Swift (uneffective - what, no Ground move?), Psychic, Sandslash fainted!
vs Exeggcute: Night Shade, Stun Spore, took in sunlight, fully paralyzed, Solarbeam, Thunderbolt (critical hit!), Exeggcute fainted
vs Magneton: Thundershock, Psychic, Thundershock, Psychic, Magneton fainted!
vs Ninetales: Ember, Psychic, Ember, Thunderbolt, Ninetales fainted!
vs Kadabra: Reflect, fully paralyzed, Psybeam, Royal fainted!
Fangor vs Kadabra: Surf (critical hit!), Kadabra fainted
vs Vaporeon: Hyper Beam, Hydro Pump (miss), recharge, Acid Armor, Hyper Beam, Vaporeon fainted!

After kicking his butt, moved on to Victory Road and after going through all the annoying checkpoints, saved outside Victory Road and will tackle it and the final stretch against the Elite Four next time!

Team Wes:

Biff (Machamp) - L51
Moves: Rock Slide, Earthquake, Low Kick, Mega Punch

Well, I've decided to do a Ruby run of this challenge, especially since nobody's really doing one. For this challenge, I will be using a team of Swampert, Gardevoir, and Swellow.

The Kanto leg of my Ultimate challenge has been completed!

Battled through Victory Road pretty easily. Biff did faint once because I kept using him as he wasn't as high as the other two. Actually ended up using three Rare Candies in my Bag to make room for other items lol. After I made it to Indigo Plateau, I flew to Celadon and bought all the vitamins I could and gave them to my trio.

Time to face the Elite Four!

Lorelei was easily handled by Royal and his Thunderbolt. Her Jynx doesn't know Psychic apparently, so Royal was never in real danger.

I used Biff against Bruno and he was able get through to Machamp before Fangor revenge-killed him for the win. Taught Biff Strength after the battle to replace the less accurate Mega Punch.

Again, led with Biff against Agatha, and was able to get through to the last Gengar on account of how poison damage is not assessed if you kill a foe, and then I ran out of Earthquake PP and was finally taken out by Toxic. Fangor cleaned up for another easy win.

Next was Lance, who is very difficult if your Pokemon don't have moves that can handle dragons or you have slow Pokemon. This was the case for my first Pokemon, Biff, but the rest was okay.

Here's how it went:
Spoiler:

Biff vs Gyarados: Hyper Beam (critical hit!), Biff fainted!
Royal vs Gyarados: Thunderbolt, Gyarados fainted!
vs Dragonair: Confuse Ray, self damage, Night Shade, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Night Shade, Lance used Hyper Potion, Night Shade, Thunderbolt, Night shade, Thunderbolt, fully paralyzed, Thunderbolt, Night Shade, Dragonair fainted!
vs Dragonair: Ice Beam (critical hit!), Confuse Ray, self damage, Thunderbolt, Bubblebeam (critical hit), Royal fainted!
Fangor vs Dragonair: Ice Beam (critical hit!), Dragonair fainted!
vs Aerodactyl: flew up high, Surf (miss), Fly, Surf, Aerodactyl fainted!
vs Dragonite: Ice Beam, Dragonite fainted!

After that victory, it was time to take on Zane for the title of Champion! No stupid moves this time, although Sandslash made a couple questionable decisions...

The final battle:
Spoiler:

Biff vs Sandslash: Earthquake, Earthquake, Poison Sting (Why?), Submission, Poison Sting (Again, why?), Submission, Zane used Full Restore, Strength, Fury Swipes, Earthquake, Earthquake, Biff fainted!
Fangor vs Sandslash: Surf, Sandslash faint
vs Alakazam: Recover, Hyper Beam, Alakazam fainted!
vs Exeggutor: Ice Beam, Leech Seed, Ice Beam, Leech Seed (why?) (evade), Body Slam (critical hit!), Egg faint
vs Ninetails: Quick Attack, Hyper Beam, recharge, Confuse Ray, Quick Attack (critical hit!), self damage, Body Slam, Tail Whip (fail), Body Slam, Ninetales fainted!
vs Magneton: Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Fangor fainted
Royal vs Magneton: Psychic (critical hit!), Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Magneton fainted!
vs Vaporeon: Auora Beam, Thunderbolt (critical hit!), Mist, Thunderbolt, Vaporean fainted!

This was fun. My team also ended up at three different levels too :D.

Here's a look at my final trainer card.

Team Wes (Final):

Biff (Machamp) - L56
Moves: Rock Slide, Earthquake, Submission, Strength

Fangor (Gyarados) - L57
Moves: Body Slam, Hyper Beam, Ice Beam, Surf

Royal (Gengar) - L58
Moves: Thunderbolt, Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Psychic

Slasher (Charmander) - L10 (Boxed)
Moves: Strength, Growl, Ember, Cut

WrightBros (Pidgey) - L15 (Boxed)
Moves: Gust, Sand-Attack, Quick Attack, Fly

Also, I would like to change my Johto game from SoulSilver to Gold.

First update for Ruby
Spoiler:

I started my adventure up, named myself Matt as I always do. My character moved in and all the stuff, and then rescued Professor Birch from the Poochyena. I obviously chose Mudkip because part of my trio is Swampert. Anyways, after offically receiving Mudkip and naming him "Strength," I grinded him up to Lv.10 for an easy rival fight.
And easy it was! After beating May and getting my Pokedex, I went to the route west of Oldale Town and caught a Ralts (Who was a pain to find), who I nicknamed "Intellect". After training him up to Lv.11 (Mudkip's current level), I journeyed on ahead to Petalburg City. There, I helped Wally catch a Ralts of his own. After getting thanks from my father, I trained at the route to the east of Petalburg. I then reached Petalburg woods.
Halfway through Petalburg Woods, I encountered a rather suspicous figure, who was apparently going to ambush a kindly businessman who was looking for a Shroomish. I easily defeated his Poochyena with Strength, and got a Great Ball from the businessman. I then kept going all the way to Rustboro. I went to the route directly north of Rustboro and caught a Taillow, who I named "Speed." I grinded him, Strength, and Intellect up to Lv.15 for the upcoming gym.
I easily blasted through the gym trainers with no problems, and soon enough Mudkip had become Marshtomp! I then challenged the Gym Leader, Roxanne. She was very easy, except she kept spamming Potions on Nosepass, but she was still easy. I received my badge and Rock Tomb (Which I'm never using, btw).

Team:

"Strength" the Marshtomp
Level 17
Lonely nature
-Tackle
-Growl
-Mud Shot
-Water Gun

"Speed" the Taillow
Level 15
Careful nature
-Wing Attack
-Growl
-Focus Energy
-Quick Attack

"Intellect" the Ralts
Level 15
Serious nature
-Growl
-Confusion
-Double Team

BTW, has anybody here ever trained a Ralts? They're a pain to train, godness...

Update #4!

So, from where she left of at Rt34, TriPKMNgl has been quite some way. Let's look at her progess:
TriPKMNgl battled her way through Rt34, with Blaze Dawg, her trusty Growlithe, and Crocigator, her eager Croconaw, by her side. During her journeys on Rt34, Blaze Dawg grew to LV19.
When TriPKMNgl entered a house on Rt34, she was shocked to find a man and a woman who gave her an Egg! An Odd Egg, to be infact.
After a long trek through Rt34, she finally entered Goldenrod City.
She tried to play the slot machines in the game corner, but she had no coins or a coin case. She remembered one of the citizens had said "I think I dropped it in the underground...' She immediatly went underground to retrieve the coin case.
Blaze Dawg grew to LV20 in the Underground. Also, TriPKMNgl found the lost coin case.
On her way to find the citizen who lost the coin case, she saw a Rocket Grunt looking into a tower. Thinking something suspicious was inside, TriPKMNgl decided to take a look. She talked to one of the staff behind the counter to find she was giving away Radio Cards. TriPKMNgl got a Radio Card, just to see if it was dodgy.
Now TriPKMNgl was lost. She decided to see what was at the bottom of Goldenrod. A shop, it seems, a bike shop to be exact. The owner offered her a bike, in return she would advertise the shop. TriPKMNgl accepted the offer, and got a bike!
While she was wandering around town, one of her eggs hatched into a... Togepi! The Togepi, which turned out to be male, was nicknamed Joy.
After lots of searching, she couldn't find the owner of the coin case, and decided to use it. She bought 50 coins, and started to gamble with card flippin'. Then she started with the slots. Neither caught her interest that much, though.

Do you prefer this format, or bullet points like I did before.
