This is a tutorial on how to edit titlescreens, pokemon, or whatever you want to do on macromedia fireworks, the reason why I’m doing a tutorial on this is because its easier to use and you can do so much more then adobe Photoshop.
First, I am going to show you
how to create a titlescreen,
this one to be exact.
1> Background Image Info:
First the background image you can search on the web for an image if you want.
I will be using this one
for my back ground image, now if you image is too big then just resize it by:
click on modify--canvas--canvas size.
Then click what ever corner you want it to crop from
2> Getting Started:
Open your image in macromedia fireworks.
Now open your sprite image and open a blank new image by selecting new document.
if your canvas does not have a checkered background the click-> modify--canvas--canvas color--click the box with a line through it also look ahead at section 4. for the box that i'm trying to describe
3> Inserting Text:
Now click on the text tool (its on the left and has a big A on it)
click the canvas and type whatever you want. It’ll probably look like this
you can change the font, style, size and alignment, by going to text on the top.
I’m going to change it to
4> Bending the text:
Now you’re wondering how to bend it.
Go to the ellipse tool (if it looks like a rectangle hold the left button at the bottom right of the corner and select the circle)
Draw a circle any size will do. You’ll be left something like this.
Just click on the paint bucket and select the box with a line through it, do the same for the outer lines by clicking on the pencil and do the same thing.
Now it’s invisible. You can still select it by running your mouse over it.
Now hold the shift key and select the circle and the text box. Go to text—attach to path and the lettering is bent.
It will be like this
Just press space bar until the bend is where you want it.
Now file copy it and file paste it on your background picture.
5> Changing the color of your text:
I will have to change the color of the text, you can do this by going to the paint can and selecting a color.
6> Inserting your sprite:
select the magic wand tool
hold down the shift key and select any white areas. Then press delete.
(If you need to zoom in go down to the bottom right hand corner where is says 100% and click on it there will be zoom in options I usually do 300% to 500% for sprites.)
then hold down the control button and press a, go to file copy and file paste it to your background image
should look like this.
7> Final Touches:
now select the text tool and click on the bottom of the image and type in PRESS START and insert the pokemon logo and your good to go.
to insert just fallow black charizard’s guide to import 256 color title screens
NOW FOR SOME OTHER STUFF:
---Making an animation like my avatar:
1> Getting Stared:
Open a new document (whatever size your image is)
open your picture in a separate tab and paste it into the first one
like this I’m going to insert the rest.
2> Changing frame speed
Now before you insert more frames you should change the timing just go to the right hand side and where it says 7
click on it and type in
--for minis/ows use 24-26
--for moving pokemon sprites use 25-28
3> Adding More Frames:
To add more frames just click on the second thing with an arrow(if you hold you mouse over it it should say "new duplicate frame")
A new blank canvas with the same size should show up
Now just insert the next picture like before.
Now just repeat this step for other pictures.
If there is any thing else you want me to teach on what ever, or if you have any questions just ask.
Also for some reason the image looks like the pallette was changed don't worry it wont look like that for you.
DON'T ask the fallowing the answer will always be no!!
-can you give us the background image?
-can you give me the background you made?
