Yeah that's a fairly good point Pudz brings up - now that it's out in the open, are you going to do something about it?

Other good news. I met an amazing person <3 He is my first non-straight relationship. So far things are going a lot better than my previous relationships! He is everything I am, but in another person :3 (Sorry if off topic, I'm just happy about it >.< )

Yep, certainly good news for me, since I'm (hopefully) moving there this summer. Not that I plan to get married any time in the next 4 years anyway, but at least I know that it should be a more accepting place than where I am now.

Yay. Good news all around.

I read that New Jersey might vote on a gay marriage law very soon, too. Let's hope that goes well. And Maine might have a ballot for it on election night.

But there are anti-gay marriage ballots in North Carolina and Minnesota.

If this is all very confusing then here is a nice little map showing how things stand in the schizophrenic country that is the USA.

Why is New Mexico's color not listed? Do they not have any laws about it at all, or something?

Sorry I missed this earlier. I would be interested in seeing if you felt comfortable showing. Not sure if I'd be swayed though. Just curious.

That's what I read. They have no laws one way or the other.

It all happened between June and January? That transition is a lot faster than I thought it would be...

Oh don't worry. I was just curious, I didn't even know such drugs could do that. I see their being benefits and downsides. This is something I would need to consider doing if I really stay by my sexual preference and feeling of being transgendered. I'm just near the age of 17, and I still can make a lot of stupid mistakes. If you don't want to get into it, I understand, but how did you get into taking the pills and realize your transgendered yourself? Right now I'm just picking up more intrests that are more feminine and the whole transgendered description fits who I'd like to be.

I'm a very experimental person, but I still stay clear of risks and all.

Thank you for sharing :3 I hope none of the bad side effects had happened to you.

Oh wow, I didn't realize there were that many different things to take, or that they had such severe side effects.

Uhhuh, pretty serious stuff ♥ It's good that you're curious and asking questions, but the sooner you can discuss with your doctor (start out with your GP and she can refer you to a specialist) the sooner you can start /really/ discussing what it means to be a girl to you. I know you say you're almost seventeen, too early for such decisions ~ but I was ready to come out at seventeen and start all this and I never did.

..which leads to me, I s'pose. When I was... mm... twelve? About that time, I used to have this inclination that something wasn't really right. I'd express this, subtly, by watching movies and tv series that had scenes with gender reversal. At that age, I don't think I knew who I was, but I knew who I wasn't. By seventeen, I'd decided very strongly that I knew I was a girl, that being a boy, thinking living as a boy, all my life.. it made me ill. I couldn't fathom it. I just wanted to wear a skirt and be like the other girls. Things happened, though, things I regret to this day; and instead of coming out, I decided to "man up" and make this all work as a man. So I shaved my head, cut away all my long hair, and started to do weights, started to play rough sports, even grew a beard. Of course it couldn't make me happy, but by the time I realized it, I was too deep into depression to come back.

I call these my dead years, because that's how I describe the way I felt, in hindsight. Ten long years, and one day I met somebody online who put me straight. She was transgendered; she'd started at seventeen, and she was eighteen when we met. I would have been.. twenty-five. She told me I couldn't keep lying. I had to chase who I was. And I kept saying it was too late, kept arguing that at my age, with my body, I never could have made it work. She told me she'd help me. So I saw my therapist that afternoon and spilled everything I tell you now. And I started pills the next day.

So... that's my story. I guess what I'm trying to explain is that while you shouldn't rush into something so life changing, you also shouldn't miss your opportunity to shine. Because I know you guys think I look good now... but if I'd started at seventeen, and never had my hyermasculine phase? I could probably be beautiful.

Hi! I'd like to join this club, and I'll try really hard to be active!

I'm bisexual, and I only came out to a few of my friends. (I'm a a girl if anyone wondered.) I don't know if this counts as coming out, but on facebook I added that i'm interested in women in my info... Though I may have blocked it XD I sort of came out to my parents, in a way. I had this girlfriend who I met on the internet, and we used to text all the time, and my dad read some of my texts one day and figured it out. I guess he told my mom too. But luckily they are totally okay with it. I'm pretty sure they think I am bi, but I don't quite know about that. And just another random thing, I've only ever had girlfriends....

Yeah, I'm just curious about it. Your actually the only transgendered person I've met who was able to use drugs and think about surgery. Instead of going back and forth, I think I'll talk to you about it on an IM. I have a lot of questions about this, so I'll add you on your IM, and we could talk there!

Thanks again~

Hey there, vizarod! Welcome to our little group!

If your parents saw texts from your girlfriend and don't know from that that you're at least bi, then you might need to whack them over the head with it XD

I wanted to share a few more news items here that I ran across from a friend on Facebook :3 All positive I promise!

Consumers Rally Around JC Penney, Ellen in Face of Anti-Gay Group's Hate Campaign

Quote:
The hate campaign launched last week by One Million Moms against JC Penney for its pick of Ellen DeGeneres as the brand's new spokeswoman seems to have backfired. The retailer is winning support from consumers who are taking to the social web to pledge that they'll shop at JC Penney stores more than they ever have before.

...

The company's CEO, Ron Johnson, echoed those sentiments today in his first interview since the controversy began. "We thought Ellen would be the perfect person because we all trust her -- she's an honest, straightforward person with extraordinary values," said Mr. Johnson, speaking to Charlie Rose on "CBS This Morning." "One of the great things about America is people can speak their mind. And you know, the organization that believes one thing has spoken, and it was great to see Ellen share her views yesterday. And we stand squarely behind Ellen as our spokesperson, and that's a great thing because she shares the same values that we do in our company. Our company was founded 110 years ago on The Golden Rule about treating people fair and square, just like you would like to be treated yourself. And we think Ellen represents the values of our company and the values that we share."
The Facebook page of One Million Moms is now closed to wall posts, I'm assuming because of the backlash, but many of the comments ignore whatever the update is and talk about how they're now shopping at JC Penney's to support them because of this campaign, haha.

Gender-bending model a runway sensation

Quote:
Pejic graced the covers of 14 magazines last year alone, including an ad campaign for a Dutch push-up bra. In 2011, he was the face for a fashion line by designer Marc Jacobs. He has walked the runways for heavyweight designers, including John Galliano and Jean Paul Gaultier.

French designer Gaultier was so enamored with Pejic that he used his gender-bending look as a source of inspiration for his 2011 men's and women's wear shows, both of which Pejic modeled in. In the Gaultier men's show, a pistol-packing, bare-chested Pejic wore a sleek black suit as "James Blonde."
I'm not sure if this is really common in Europe, but it's the first I heard of it although I guess it's been a while since he became a model. I found it a little strange though that on the photo gallery that CBS has up it only has him in the outfits made for women it seemed - maybe that's just journalism though, it's more interesting to see a male model dressed as a woman than a male model dressed as a man, haha.

Pudz, you look great, and congrats on your 6-months. I'm glad you're here to answer these questions so I don't have to. Thanks for showing us the (quite amazing) timeline.

And I'm glad to see some good news. Honestly I don't think Ellen is the best person to target if you're an anti-gay group. She's probably one of the most loved openly gay people in America.

Ahhhhhh I missed an opportunity to join in with the encouragement and answering trans questions ahhhhh I love doing that ahhhhh I missed it ahhh. D:
Well Pudding Puddlez you look great; keep up the great work! ^^ I get a a six-month anniversary next Friday, actually. o3o
I would also agree that transition isn't really a start-stop thing. You just start to change less and less over time. But then, it's the same way with everyone, isn't it? xD

Anyway I like all the good news recently! Ellen is impossible to take down; this is a fact. Like Scarf said, she's one of the most-loved openly gay people in the country, maybe even on the planet. xD
I say this is the type of thing we should just giggle at. It's like the whole Girl Scout "cookie boycott" thing; if haters gonna try to take down organisations for LGBT-related reasons, all we need to do is counteract it tenfold with our own support. xD

I feel bad; I have nothing to contribute lately. ;__; Although, Pudz, TwiDragon, Scarf and Maggie, you all have helped me learn a whole lot more about Transsexuality that I never knew. ^__^ That's what makes this group great. :D

^Yeah, Pudz is amazing! I'm really interested in all of the stuff, but I wish I knew a lot more about it. I just like wearing dresses and I like being feminine, but drugs really scare me. I don't even like taking over the counter medicine unless its really bad. I would try it if the side effects weren't bad or if it were only temp. But I don't know enough about them to really bring me to any decision.

You misspelled "the world"

I went to that stupid Facebook page and had a look - they're all about protecting children. But you see the thing is, that will never fly in a campaign against Ellen because she is the most child-friendly TV personality you will meet outside the hosts of Play School. Just yesterday I was griping because she yet again had to have some "talented children" come and waste my time showing me what they can do when I quite simply do not care; and she is constantly giving under-privileged families cars and thousands of dollars to try and dig them out of the holes they've found themselves in. She single-handedly helps more people - and more children - than one million of those *****es ever will.

^I added you through MSN, hopefully it doesn't durp up >.<

You know, I always hate when people use "protect the children" , Especially with gays and what not. There is no damage being done! The only damage is that these bigots are teaching their children that its ok to hate someone who is different. I would think that the kids will figure it out on their own about who they are and what they like.

Ashamed, if one of these parents has a kid who is anything but straight, their will be problems for that kid and their family. Its sad really :c
