Update for me,
Usual starting stuff, caught myself a Zubat and deposited my starter.
Trained Zubat in the ruins of alph and sprout tower, supersonic and potions worked a treat on defeating Hoothoot.
After probably an hour and a half Zubat was finally level 13 and learnt a useful move in bite.
Went straight to the gym to battle the trainers and Falkner
I hate roost
After my second attempt I defeated him.

Went through union cave surprisingly without any trouble,
Helped Kurt out and defeated Team Rocket who were taking Slowpoke tails
Defeated Bugsy with relative ease, Scyther gave me a scare with a crit
Found the Farfetch'd and got cut, had to catch myself an oddish to get through the tree
Got the Goldenrod and traded in 3 eggs and hatched them

Well I picked Cyndaquil as my starter, did all the required stuff to get the first pokeballs, and headed out into the grass to get my Sentret named it Sneakers(great name right?), and got a Spearow I named Rooster on route 46 through the checkpoint near new bark town.I did some grinding with Sneakers and Rooster to get it prepared for bellsprout tower,Went to the pokemon center to heal up and then saved in front of the tower.
