I miss the days when Saturday morning cartoons were exciting to watch. Now all I do is wait for 6 AM reruns of Inuwaffle...And that's on Sundays.

Also, the Durarara dub is all sorts of enjoyable.

Oh, and another thing, is there anyone here that does writing like, say, for a living or on a confidently amateur level?

I stopped writing for fun a few years back. I'm not than man you're looking for.

Finished Robotics;Notes and really liked it. Such an enjoyable, nicely written show. Had a few flaws but they were pretty easy to forgive.

Lapras finishes an entire two season show at the same time it takes for me to casually start playing an old MMO again and then realise it's now late in the evening.

For something that didn't move at electric pace it was pretty damn marathonable. Was pretty much hooked from the moment

That was definitely one of its strengths. Perhaps I should've just marathoned it, but it was fun to have as a Monday morning thing, too.

Howdy ho Charry Pie.

Lappy, I order you to go play more video games; you shouldn't be finishing shows of that length so quickly.

Green is the colour of money and of course also of supporters. Makes sense I suppose.

I have so many avatar ideas that get denied because of size restraints. It's sad, because then I have to cut them down and reduce the quality quite a bit ._.

Okay Kodaka, there's pulling white lies to get away from your problems, and there's being a huge, egoistic wuss about it. And you're crossing the line.

Can someone tell me why the useless (unlikable) wuss protagonist trope is so popular among manga and anime authors?

I guess because it's supposedly easier to emotionally relate to an imperfect being than a more perfect one. Everybody loves an underdog. But it's still bloody ridiculous. Everyone watching cartoons isn't so miserable that the idea of a socially adept main character is unimaginable.

You're watching the wrong cartoons, obviously.

My best guess is it's for fanservice anime mostly since it's more appealing than say a gar type like Gatts for example.

Edit: Pokestick beat me to the punch.

Hm...yeah, that makes sense. Still, they're so useless that I don't think anyone can relate to them, and when they're in trouble...you (or at least I) don't want them to come out on top. Like in Mirai Nikki. EVERY ENCOUNTER he had I wanted him dead. Heck, out of all the useless protagonists out there, he's the one I dislike the most. I mean, I didn't like most of the characters in that show, but Yuki specifically is probably one of my least favorite characters in anime for an ungodly number of reasons.

Eh.

Seriously, the % of these type of protagonist is a lot smaller than you'd think. Just avoid things aimed at fat neckbeards (harem shows and anything produced from a light novel with a stupidly long title would be first on my ignore list) . Really, it's not that hard.

Oh, I don't watch anime with them usually, I've just seen a good number of them (there are only about 4 that I actually watched, 3 of which were good). Generally shows with them have either generic stories and/or generic characters, and I can't deal with the latter (and the former, to a slightly smaller extent
