Nice thread :D
I have this:
first 14 volumes of Tsubasa Chronicle
2 volumes of Code Geass
2 volumes of Death Note
2 volumes of Naruto
5 volumes of Zero no Tsukaima
Fallen Moon

My first manga... Tsubasa Chronicle for sure. I hold really special feelings for this manga and anime so I just had to have it as my first.
Yes, I still collect =)
What I plan next...? Probably Naruto 3 once it will be released in our country. Also 6th volume of ZnT should be available soon
And I'm buying manga either in our bookstore (in my native language) or on the Internet.

Oh my god, I must have spent over $5000 on Anime Blu-ray/DVDs and Manga as well as goods. There's just way too many series for me to list here, but the first anime DVD I bought was probably either Inuyasha, Gundam Seed, Spirial, and/or Azumanga Daioh. As for the first manga, probably DBZ, Pokemon, or Black Cat.

I don't collect manga anymore(except Shugo Chara), but I still do collect Blu-ray & DVD, mostly domestic ones, because I just can't afford to import Blu-ray/DVDs from Japan anymore due to high yen. I think next one I'll buy is probably Clannad Blu-ray(domestic), and I usually buy my stuff from either online, local anime stores, and/or anime conventions.

So how large is your anime/manga collection?: Not all that big.
Which series do they consist of?: *Points to pics*
Which anime and manga did you receive first?: The first thing I think I got was season 1 of Bleach.
Do you still collect?: Yes I do
What are you planning to get next?: I might get the Sora no Otoshimono season 1 boxset. The reason why I want it is because when I first watched the series the download was small, the sound was bad. So watching it on my TV in 720p would be nice. But... the box is sort of... yea. XD
Where do/did you buy them at?: Most of my stuff has come from Amazon.
Show pictures of your collection if you want!: k

(Click on the pics for larger views)

The slim chance you somehow miss the names on the boxes... From left to right.
- Bleach Season 1, 2, and 3, and next to it is the first movie... Bleach: Memories of Nobody.
- Next is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood parts 1-5. That is the whole FMA:B series.
- And after FMA is Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, and Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu.
- And last but not least Angel Beats!
I know it's not a manga or anime boxset... but to the far left is my Makise Kurisu figure. Since it sits there all the time I thought I might as well put it in the pic.

Since there's no room on the bottom rack these 3 sit on the top.
- Baka Test season 1 boxset.
- Summer Wars (movie). When I first watched that movie years and years ago it had an ugly yellow sub text font, the sound was so bad, and it was so small and so pixely. After buying the movie and watching it in 720p, and 5.1 surround sound I had to retate the movie.
- The last one is Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. Some people count it, some people don't. But I thought I'd say something because it sits along with my anime.

- Dragonball Z season 1, 5, 7, and 8. And up top is the 7th movie Super Android 13, and the 9th movie Bojack Unbound (it's in one box). I feel like I wasted my money on the DBZ boxsets. I watched the series long long (back when I was a kid and it was airing on Cartoon Network). So a few years ago I sort of got back into it and wanted to finish it. But I thought I'd just go ahead and rewatch the whole series. And I did that. Only prob is I should have downloaded all the eps and not have went out and got a few boxsets. I think they were $40 each, looking back I think I wasted my money.

My collection as a whole isn't as big as I'd like. But I'm happy with what I have and if I see something I want I buy it.

Pretty much the same right here. I have a few volumes of Inuyasha, half of the Inuyasha season box sets, and the complete Chobits box set, and MANY more I am forgetting. I may take pictures, but need to find my camera first. =/

So how large is your anime/manga collection?: My anime collection is decent.
Which series do they consist of?: What I have with me now are:
*Naruto
*One Piece
*Bleach
*Fairy Tail
*Pokemon (1-5)
*Death Note
*Full Metal Alchemist
*Samurai Champloo
*Durarara
*Katekyo Hitman Reborn
*Gintama
*Afro Samurai
*Dragonball Z

Which anime and manga did you receive first?: I got the whole collection of One Piece animes (517 episodes). That was in April 2011.
Do you still collect?: Ofc! Can never stop doing it !
What are you planning to get next?: I haven't yet decided. Probably something different, not like the usual ones that I watch. I am still taking suggestions. I have short-listed Code Gease, Hunter x Hunter, Belzeebub
Where do/did you buy them at?: There aren't any bookstore/ shop from where I can get my favorite manga in my city so I have to read them all online.
Show pictures of your collection if you want! I don't have any. Sorry~ Maybe after I get my hands on some manga volumes.

I don't really collect a lot of anime and manga, but if I had the money and visited Shintokyo more I probably would.

As for my collection I've really only got four books (thick ones) of Fist of the North Star, and I got them free because someone didn't want them, and they're all in Japanese so I can't read them. Plus I've also got four books of this other thing which I have no idea what it is, but it has a tamagotchi on it, so I really don't know. I've also got an Evangelion movie which I never saw because I don't really like Mecha.

I know you don't count it, but for downloaded stuff I've got most of Naruto which is in terrible condition because it's on discs and stuff, and I've downloaded all of Inazuma Eleven as well, but re-downloading for higher quality.

Well, that's what I keep in my dorm anyways. Anyways, questions

So how large is your anime/manga collection?
It's decently sized. It could probably fill up a bookshelf.

Which series do they consist of? From what I remember of what I have (can't remember anime, so i won't bother on that)
Black Cat (All)
Galaxy Angel, Beta, II (All, up to when Broccoli Books USA died)
Busou Renkin (All)
Pluto (All)
Hibiki's Magic (Seeing as it's on infinite hiatus, all)
Rozen Maiden (All)
Tsubasa Chronicles (up to 13?)
Yotsuba& 2,3,5,8,9
Future Diary 1-7
Hidamari Sketch 1-4
Haruhi novels (Melancholy, Boredom, Disappearance)
Negima 27
Inaba of the Moon and Inaba of the Earth 1

Up to date cuz I'm too lazy to remember:
Pokemon Special/Adventures
Hayate the Combat Butler
Psyren
Railgun
Dengeki G's magazine (techincal cuz it runs manga in it)

Which anime and manga did you receive first?
Hmmm, probably was a comic issue version of Mobile Suit Gundam or Eva, forget which.

Do you still collect?
Of course.

What are you planning to get next?
Will probably catch up Hidamari and Future Diary and fill up the gaps in my Yotsuba& collection first.

Where do/did you buy them at?
Used to go to Borders, but that's closed down now, so it's generally between Barnes and Noble and Right Stuf.

I don't have any pictures available at the moment, but I can name most of what my collection consists of.

Manga:
Mahou Sensei Negima! Vols. 1-30 English
Love Hina Vols. 1-8 English
Negima?! Neo Vols. 1-7 English
Dragonball Vols. 1-3, 5, and 6 English
D. Gray-Man Vols. 1-4 English
Code Geass Suzaku of the Counterattack Vol. 2 English
Gin Tama Vols. 1-4 and 6 English
Cage of Eden Vol. 1 English
Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright Vols. 1 and 2 English
Fairy Tail Vols. 1 and 2 English
Full Metal Alchemist Vol. 1 English
Case Closed Vols. 1 and 2 English
Bleach Vols. 1-4 and 23 English
and a couple others I can't remember, I think.

Anime:
Read or Die OVA English
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Complete Set English (2006 season)
Genshiken Complete Set English
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie English
Love Hina Complete Set English
Negima! Complete Set English
DVD set of 4 Pokemon movies (Destiny Deoxys, Heroes, 4Ever, and Jirachi Wishmaker, I think)
and a couple others that escape my mind at the moment.

Question time!
Which anime and manga did you receive first?
Uh... I think it was a flipped English translation of The Electric Tale of Pikachu

Do you still collect?
Yes I do when I find I have the money.

What are you planning to get next?
Honestly? Not a clue. Might finish up my Love Hina collection or pick up more from some newer series.

Where do/did you buy them at?
I usually buy from Barnes & Noble or one of their network of used booksellers, since I have a membership with them and they're one of the most reliable manga dealers in my area.

So how large is your anime/manga collection?
It's quite large. Over 200 items, at least.

Which series do they consist of?
Read on to find out. :3

Which anime and manga did you receive first?
Goodness, I don't know anymore. It was a while back. Something my local comic book store had. Maybe it was Inuyasha, but I really can't remember now.

Do you still collect?
Most definitely.

What are you planning to get next?
I don't really plan to get things. I just sort of pick up something when I remember to. I'm kind of lazy like that.

Where do/did you buy them at?
Japan. Used manga there are so cheap. Around 40 USD can get you a complete 34-book series if you're looking in the right places.

Show pictures of your collection if you want!

What you're looking at are most of the Japanese language manga that I have:

22 volumes of NANA
12 volumes of Cardcaptor Sakura
34 volumes of Urusei Yatsura
3 volumes of Queen Millennia
1 volume of Yamato
4 volumes of Galaxy Express 999
4 volumes of WISH
3 volumes of Toward the Terra
6 volumes of Saturn Apartments
1 volume of hana booro
1 volume of shiori kumo
1 volume of Utena (movie version)
1 volume of Maid Sama!
1 volume of Puella Magi Madoka Magica
1 volume of Working!!
1 volume of Moyashimon
1 volume of JINX
1 volume of Stardust Angel
1 volume of gen'ei hakurankai
1 volume of ZERO
2 volumes of bo・n・do
10 volumes of Yotsuba&!
4 volumes of Azumanga Daioh
1 volume of baron
2 volumes of Niea_7
4 volumes of Clover
4 sōshūhen (phone-book size) volumes of X
4 volumes of Eureka Seven
1 volume of FLCL
4 volumes of Mobile Suit Gundam: École du Ciel
1 volume of Luno
1 volume of Boku wa, Onna no Ko
6 volumes of Aoi Hana
11 volumes of Wandering Son
21 volumes of Kare Kano
4 volumes of Science Fiction Edison
3 volumes of KaNa
1 volume of Spirit of Wonder

As you can see, there's a lot. Some I have tucked away in inconvenient places and didn't bother to take out for the group photo.

As far as anime go, I have:

all of Cardcaptor Sakura (+movies)
all of Escaflowne (+movie)
all of Kare Kano
all of Haibane Renmei
all of Cowboy Bebop (+movie)
the Utena movie
Jin-Roh
Ghost in the Shell
Paprika
Tokyo Godfathers
Millenium Actress
Perfect Blue
Metropolis
Whispers of the Heart
Howl's Moving Castle
Porco Rosso
Ponyo
Arrietty
My Neighbors the Yamadas
Spirited Away

(I think that's everything.)

My manga collection isn't very big because I have some issues of the Pokemon Adventures manga, the manga versions of Jirachi: Wishmaker and Giratina and the Sky Warrior, the 1st and 7th issues of Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters, the currently up to date Yu-Gi-Oh GX manga and the 1st issue of the 5Ds manga.

My first manga was probably the Yu-Gi-Oh manga. I also collect manga from time to time when I don't have a particular issue. I'm planning on getting the next issues of the Yu-Gi-Oh GX and 5Ds manga, as well as the Pokemon Black/White manga and some of the Diamond/Pearl manga.

A questionnaire. Okay, I'll bite XD Just to get everyone started, here are pics of all of my anime DVDs. I don't know that it's the most impressive collection, but maybe it is a little more so when you factor in that I've only been buying anime for two or three months, hah. My manga is in storage so no pics of that.

Spoiler:

And my blu-rays:

  • So how large is your anime/manga collection?
I have 20 - 30 anime series and a few dozen volumes of manga.
  • Which series do they consist of?
For the manga, it's mostly Death Note, Excel Saga, Rurouni Kenshin, Yotsuba&!, and Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei. I just picked up the Sailor Moon manga and I have several volumes from series that I lost interest in. The anime list is too large to put here, so there'll be pics at the bottom of the post.
  • Which anime and manga did you receive first?
Technically, my first manga was The Electric Tale of Pikachu circa 1999. The first manga that I purchased actually knowing it was manga was Death Note in 2005 or 2006. My very first anime was a Cowboy Bebop series boxset, though I later discovered that it was bootleg =/
  • Do you still collect?
I've slowed way down on manga, but I'm buying more anime than ever.
  • What are you planning to get next?
Manga-wise, there's nothing on the horizon aside from the handful of series I purchase that are still in production. I have a pretty full and expensive anime plate with things like ef, And Yet the Town Moves, and Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica coming early next year, not to mention the huge backlog of blu-rays and dvds that I want but are too expensive.
  • Where do/did you buy them at?
Amazon, Rightstuf, ebay, local shops.

First manga and amime were Ultra Maniac and Ah My Goddess Vol 3, respectively. I still collect but not as much as I used to. As for my next purchase, I'm waiting for a price drop for either Kimikiss Pure Rouge or Amagami SS. Most of my anime comes from Right Stuf or Amazon, while manga comes from them as well as brick and mortar stores like Barnes and Noble and the dearly departed Borders.
