Cape City

The search for the anomaly among the citizens of Cape continued, with Ancients pursuing their target through many homes. Deluge questioned the trying to locate the Pokemon, and instead figured the better way to go about this was to have that Pokemon come to them. If it were Gold Tribe, which Deluge figured was a possibility, they would definitely come running. Snype approached the Sentinels, exiting from a home along with a Mismagius.

Deluge rolled his eyes annoyingly at Snype, as he motioned for Ancients to tie up the Pokemon he dragged out. “Of course there are underground tunnels beneath us. There always have been. But what exactly do you expect us to do about it? It’s a labyrinth down there. There are literally hundreds of passageways that extend for miles under the city, and beyond it. In all of our occupation, no, in all of the Alpha Alliance’s knowledge of these tunnels, they have yet to be fully explored. Using Ancients to track someone through there would be a squander. A waste of resources. Besides, no one can navigate through that maze to begin with.”

It was true. As far as anyone knew, the renowned Cape City underground tunnels were impassable. Many explorers in the past have attempted to find ways in the city, but none have successfully outlined a map of the labyrinth of passages. Exploration of the tunnels has largely been abandoned by the Alpha Alliance a while ago, though sometimes some Pokemon have been known to try their luck at them, though few, if any, end up returning. However, about 100 years ago, an ancient, deserted city was discovered as apart of the tunnels system. The Alpha Alliance figured it was an old Alpha Alliance city from long ago. Having it closer to the surface and easier to access than most other locations, the Alpha Alliance decided to reuse the city. From then, right up to the invasion, the old city, named Old Cape City (though some call it Ancient City), was used for training exercises by the Gold Tribe (as Gold Tribe Academy was in the city above) and sometimes the Alpha Alliance. When the Silver Tribe invaded, they set up the majority of Ancient forces in the base below in Old Cape, although numerous others patrol the Wall of Cape City as well.

“Still,” Another voice said behind Deluge. Deluge floated around to see Scar approaching the other Sentinels. “We may as well prepare in whatever way we can.” He glanced at a Kabutops soldier next to him, and commanded to him. “Inform the Ancients in Old Cape to mobilize. I suggest we guard all entrances into the tunnels, and send smaller parties to patrol the nearby tunnels connecting to Old Cape and Cape City. At least the ones we know about. We may not be able to find them, but they aren’t catching us by surprise again, if they try.”

The Kabutops hurriedly headed to the path down into the tunnels to Old Cape City, while Deluge eyed Scar. “Scar, where have you been all morning?”

“Oh…just sleeping off the weariness of yesterday.” He replied, adding an eerie smile. His eyes darted to Genevieve for the briefest of moments, but turned to Snype almost immediately after. “Anyway, I’d like to see what the new Sentinel has plotted in his noggin…” Scar once more turned his attention to a nearby Omastar. “Bring us a dozen or so citizens. We have a demonstration in order.” He ordered. The Ancients around methodically gathered up Pokemon that were the closest to them, disregarding species, age, or sex. It was a trait Deluge always admired in the servants of the Silver Tribe, their lack of prejudice in their targets. They would mercilessly slaughter any Pokemon without a second thought, whether a male, female, child, or even infant. Ancients saw no division. They were all equal targets, and regarded them all the same, as was seen as they brought the screaming Pokemon to the center of the street, tossing them onto the cold, hard marble floor right before the Sentinels. Scar crossed his arms and gazed upon the Sabeleye, seeing what he wanted to do next. He glanced once more at Genevieve as well, smiling as he did moments before.

“Sleep well?” He asked her mischievously.

Cape City Tunnels

As the Gold Tribe began to make their way through the darkness of the tunnels, Zane found himself approached inside by the Salamence Blitzkrieg, asking whether or not they should issue the challenge of the Gold Tribe to Dinorah. He mentioned that he may have known her father.

“Ah, so she has some Gold Tribe connections? Interesting…” He said in a matching lowered voice, looked back at her while they were still close to the opening of the tunnel before the top was close, and the light to see her with was effectively gone. At this lack of light, Dinorah spoke up.

"Well, I'm effectively blind down here..." She muttered in a low voice as she followed Zane as closely as she could. She extended a vine toward him from under her flower, stopping halfway. "Mind if I wrap a vine loosely around your waist to be extra sure I don't lose you guys?"

“Go ahead.” He replied. “In fact, let’s all try to stay close to the Pokemon in front of you, so that we won’t get lost.” Zane turned back to Blitzkrieg next to him and replied to his other question. His voice remained in a whisper to ensure no unnecessary Pokemon heard them.

“I suppose if she would like to, and she can prove herself as capable enough, then we can do something later, should we have the time. For now, I suppose we can watch her and see what she can do. Let’s keep an eye out.”

TrueStriker, seemingly concerned with Bloodthirster’s latest statement, as well as the noise level, decided to speak through telepathy, which Zane concluded was the wisest thing at the moment. They had to keep their presence as concealed as possible.

All the while Lashire was flinching at the noise and closed his eyes tightly, stopping in place and whispered to the others. "Do you WANT to get caught?" He hissed out. "Stop shouting out. The echos carry for quite a while." He hissed as he glared at Salamance especially.

"Just... stay quiet, okay?" He began to lead again and made a left turn and the group could see a bright light ahead. "That's the patrols, stay quiet." He hissed as he continued to lead them forward. By the time they reached the end of the tunnel the light had already dissappeared down another tunnel.

He continued to lead for some time, every so often they would see a light from another tunnel but it would quickly disappear when the Pawniard let them on. "Okay, we're almost there. Just stay quiet." He said softly. "There is usually a large patrol up ahead. We need to be quick." He paused here and gazed out into the next tunnel, frowning. "Oh dear..."

Zane followed as quietly as he could behind the scouts. In the back of his mind, he couldn't help but draw his thoughts to the Gold Crystal. It was here, somewhere deep down these tunnels. Once they had finished with this mystery Pokemon, they would have to find it. He only hoped Guardia would have been able to figure out where it was based on memory. However, perhaps Zane's dream could also help, if any of it was valid. When Lashire suddenly stopped, staring over into the next tunnel, Zane came next to him. "What's the matter?" He asked in a whisper.

Lashire flinched and quickly shook his head at his voice and grabbed Zane's head and turned it so he could see. There were a good ten Ancients in the tunnel just... standing there. "We can't get through with them!" He hissed into his ear. "We bother them then the whole tunnel system will light up! We'll be surrounded in moments!"

He paused, "Okay... get your gold buddies ready. I'm going to throw a distraction. When it goes off, run. Run as fast as you can!" With that Lashire turned about and began to head back in the direction they had just come from, headed down another tunnel and dissappeared rather quickly. It only took a few minutes but there came the sound of a loud crash, almost as if a tunnel had collapsed. Immediately the Ancients perked up and ran off toward the sound.

Zane, as was instructed, informed the others to prepare themselves as soon as the distraction Lashire would make set off. As soon as the sound was made and the Ancients ran toward it, Zane hissed to the others to move forward to where the Ancients used to be, down the tunnel. Zane tried to combine as much steal with speed as he could without attracting attention, even though it really wasn't his strongsuit, especially with the tint of his skin. Still, he did his best as the Gold Tribe sprinted down the now-free tunnel. He didn't go too far ahead, as he awaited for Lashire to return to help lead them the rest of the way.

Unfortunately, that seemed to be a mistake on his part as an Ancient was making its way back. It seemed that there were already too many other Ancients blocking up the collapsed tunnel. The Kabutops caught sight of the Gold Tribe, and as it opened it's mouth to let out an alarm a Tyrogue fell down from the celing and grabbed onto his throat tightly and another hand reached out and clamped its mouth shut. Without any warning the Tyrogue pulled out a rather nasty looking dagger from his pants and suddenly slammed it right into the back of the Ancient's neck, digging it in deep as he held the mouth closed.

Blood leaked out over the young pokemon but he didn't seem that bothered by the liquid as he pushed it in deeper and deeper, but as the Ancient fell he quickly twisted the body in mid air so the Tyrogue feet touched the ground first. He held the Ancient's corpse and slowly lowered it to the ground and without another word turned about and ran down the tunnel, pausing to motion to the Gold Tribe to follow as he continued to run.

Zane was caught off guard by the appearance of the Tyrogue, especially as he ran off, but he figured he would want them to follow. His motioning of them to follow confirmed it, so Zane nodded at the Tyrogue, and followed, motioning for the Gold Tribe to follow behind as well. Be on alert. Zane reminded them telepathically through the link TrueStriker had set up earlier.

Saul led them for a while and it seemed that the Ancients didn't patrol this part of the tunnels. Saul stopped and glanced about. He pushed his hands against a part of the wall and the rocky surface suddenly began to open. "This way." He stated as he headed inside. He waited for the last Gold Tribe member to enter before pushing a button on another wall and the wall that had opened closed up quickly. Already inside was Lashire with the still sleeping Eevee on his shoulders. "What happened?"

Saul leaned against a wall, still covered in blood. "What ya think? They stopped. You know, it's good of me to have stayed back and waited up there! Sheesh! They are idiots!"

Lashire frowned at his words but turned to Zane and smiled widely. "We are actually here Mr. Vigil!" He stated proudly. I will ask you all to stay here for the moment while we enter the main cavern. It's procedure and also... with a Scizor in your group and the fact that the Sentinels do enlist former Gold Tribe members, you could easily be mistaken for Sentinels, no need to get shishkabobed with all kinds of attacks right?" He asked with a smile.

Saul readjusted his pack. "Yeah, stay tight and don't do anything stupid like, say, readying an attack or something." He muttered. "That will lead to death instantly."

"I understand." Zane said, nodding to them.

With that the two began to walk further down the tunnel to a wall. Lashire knocked three times and the wall slid open letting the two pokemon in and quickly closed behind them.

As the Gold Tribe waited, Zane turned to the others. "Everyone all here? Everyone alright?" He asked to confirmed that everyone was still around. He made a quick headcount to confirm. It seemed all the Gold Tribe, plus Dinorah, was present, and unharmed. "Alright, good. Now, we don't know who exactly this Pokemon is, or what he is capable of, so we should be cautious. But remember, we're here to work together with them. Still, let's make sure to keep our eyes open, just in case."

However, that plan would have to wait. Once Zane had finished speaking the group would hear light hissing sound. Suddenly green smoke was pouring out of the walls and right into the tunnel! The gas was very thick in fact and would cause one to cough thus having to take in more breaths and thus more of the gas.

Zane began to cough as he felt the gas inhale into his system. As he looked onto the others as they experienced similar symptoms, he noticed his vision begin to blur. Black spots appeared on it among the coughs, and he felt himself become drowsy. The room seemed to be spinning, and he had trouble keeping his balanced. He noticed as Guardia fell to the ground, followed by Speculum, and then the larger thud of Sword and Shield, followed by the rest of the Gold Tribe. Zane struggled to keep himself up, but eventually the fume took hold of him, his vision failing, followed by him blacking out.

Accatosh "Blitzkrieg" Coronis

Accatosh was so close to pouncing on that twerp Tyrogue, smoke had started pouring out of his nostrils, but he kept his composure, listening.

"I don't like this, almost sounds like a..." at that moment gas started pouring in, "TRAP" Accatosh managed to cough out, he did his best to fight off the gas, and by the look of it it was designed as a form of knockout gas, he coughed some more, and with his last breath he let out a roar. then all went dark.

just after all went black, a memory surfaced, a memory of a time, a time where Veltra and him were dating, her tender voice. the time was of when they were in the main plaza, he was telling her about his call to Gold City, to stop an invading army, the light of the setting sun made her birthmark, a gold colored heart gleam in brilliance, he remembered her telling him something just before he left, "don't worry we'll see each other again, and we will be fighting on the same side," with that she kissed him goodbye, on his cheek. he smiled and lovingly bumped his head on hers, and left for Gold City.

Allora cautiously watched the two, holding her ground, hidden in the shrubs. She knew she was taking a huge risk in revealing herself to them. If they weren’t pro-Gold Tribe then she would have quite the fight on her hands. One she wasn’t sure she could win. Allora took a step back as the giant Golurk began to approach. Her eyes began to glow blue as she readied her psychic powers to attack. "Come out where I can see you, and maybe-" the Golurk started saying, but was cut off by Excadrill. "Yes. The 'garden' needed to be 're-planted.' I'm the 'gardener,' and this is the one that's been 'eating all the plants'." he motioned towards the Golurk. "Excuse me? I haven't been eating any plants, and if that's code that you're talking in there, I must say it's not very creative," he butted in. Allora closed her eyes and let out a relieved sigh knowing that Excadrill was the one Veletra told her about and that this Golurk was the one she helped. Allora was about to step out of her hiding spot when Excadrill’s orders peeked her interest. "Paladin, leave it," the Excadrill ordered. She opened her eyes to see the now very close and very large Golurk that loomed in frontof her. ‘He’s either very brave or has a death wish…..either way he needs to be taught cautiousness.’ Allora thought as she prepared her footing. Quickly she gathered together nature’s energy into a small Energy Ball and aimed it to the right side of the Golurk’s head so that it would miss him by quite a bit but still be close enough to get her point across. As soon as the Golurk pushed the shrubs that were hiding her out of the way, Allora fired the Energy Ball. Quickly after she darted out of the shrubs and into the open a little bit away from the two. “You should learn to listen to your elders Golurk. If I was of the Silver Tribe you would be dead right now.” She sat and started examining her fur, picking out pieces of leaf and branches that were stuck in it; her nine tails flicking in a wave like pattern. “As for the code….you’re right. It is weak. But it accomplished what needed to be accomplished.” Once she was finished grooming her fur she approached Excadrill and bowed her head slightly to honor him. “It’s nice to finally meet you. Veletra has told me a lot about you.”

The bushes parted. What Paladin found hiding within was both beautiful and dangerous. A Ninetales lurked lurked there. Its fur was a shiny silver, unlike the usual yellow of a Ninetales, and it had a pair of blue, fang-like marks beneath its eyes. However, the Golurk soon realized that the silver Ninetales was preparing an attack. It didn't look to be such a powerful move, but Paladin's instincts kicked in, and immediately he prepared a Shadow Punch to counter the green sphere coming towards him. The Energy Ball was released and flew right at his face, but missed it by a quarter of an inch. The dangerously suspicious Ninetales jumped from her hiding place. "You should listen to your elders, Golurk. If I was of the Silver Tribe you would be dead right now," she sneered. Paladin simply chuckled. "And you, my dear, need to work on your aim. Besides, how do I know you're not Silver Tribe?" he snapped, readying another Shadow Punch in his fist in case this intruder turned out to be what she said she wasn't. "Calm yourself, Saul. She is no enemy," Excadrill claimed, though Paladin wasn't entirely convinced. Ninetales were known to be tricky schemers on occasion.

The Ninetales simply sat down and examined her fur, apparently dislodging pieces that were stuck in it. Her tails moved in an elegant manner. It was almost...hypnotic. Paladin averted his eyes. He remembered hearing somewhere that if you touched a Ninetale's tail, you would become cursed. He wasn't sure if it was just a myth or if it was real, but he didn't want to find out. "As for the code...you're right, it is weak. But it accomplished what needed to be accomplished," the Ninetales stated. After she finished, she approached Excadrill, who still sat next to a sleeping Zed. "It's nice to finally meet you. Veletra has told me a lot about you," she said, bowing her head, which surprised both Excadrill and Golurk alike. "Hehe, you don't need to be so formal, child," Excadrill blushed. Paladin walked past the two and picked Zed up from his position on the grass in one swoop, careful not to wake the infant. He still didn't know if he could trust the Ninetales before him, so he kept Zed close. Just in case. The baby cooed in the Golurk's hand as it rolled over. "What is your name? And how do you know Veletra?" the Excadrill asked. Paladin didn't know how his friend could so quickly trust a stranger. The two Pokemon didn't seem to have been previously acquainted, though apparently somebody had informed the silvery fox of Excadrill's existence. If he truly wished to remain unknown, he wasn't doing a good job.

Veletra
Cape City

Done. Veletra was captured. She knew she wouldn't have escaped anyway, but whatever happened, she knew she couldn't reveal the location of her employer. That is, if Snype ever found out about that. She had been sworn to secrecy and she would be damned if she didn't keep her promise. 'At least Saul is safe,' she thought.

Veletra was mercilessly grabbed by two Ancients, a Kabutops and an Armaldo, and strapped to a nearby wooden pole with strong, thick rope. At his commander's orders, the Kabutops proceeded to use Foresight on her. Unfortunately for the Mismagius, Foresight had the annoying side effect of nullifying a Ghost-type's intangibility for a while. So, basically, Veletra was stuck. From her position tied to the pole, she could barely make out what the Sentinels positioned about fifteen feet away from her were saying. There was a Castform who, despite seeming harmless like most of his species, was quite a formidable foe. If memory served her correctly, this glorified cloud in front of her was called Deluge. At least, that was the title that most knew him by. Another Pokemon came by, though Veletra had never seen his species before. However, she managed to hear that his name was Scar. Another Sentinel. They conversed, and occasionally gave orders to the Ancients around them. However, at one point, Veletra noticed that the Ancients had begun rallying a few nearby people. The Ancients took anyone they could find. Veletra even noticed them trying to grab a mother and her baby. How vile could these monsters get?

The rallied Pokemon were thrown onto the ground as if they were trash. As Veletra helplessly watched this scene unfold, a horrible realization dawned on her, and she knew exactly what they planned to do with these innocents.

Allora could tell the Golurk still was uneasy with her presence as she listened to Excadrill. "Hehe, you don't need to be so formal, child," Excadrill blushed. "What is your name? And how do you know Veletra?" Allora smiled at the humble Excadrill, “I apologize for the formality, hehe. I guess my training is kicking in. My name is Allora. As for how I know Veletra well………it is somewhat of a long story but basically I have connections with many others like you.” Her eyes glowed blue as she used her psychic abilities to take out a Gold Tribe emblem from the satchel around her neck. On the emblem the words “Shadow Protector” were written across it. “You see…….I’m one of you. I was stationed here in Cape City when it was attacked. I was one of the lucky ones to escape the slaughter.” Allora quickly put the emblem away and turned her attention to the Golurk.

He walked past her and Excadrill and picked up the baby from his position on the grass in one swoop, careful not to wake the infant. The baby cooed in his hand as it rolled over. Allora couldn’t help but smile as she watched the adorable baby sleep. After a few seconds Allora realized she was staring and averted her gaze. “Does that answer your question Golurk? And I wasn’t trying to hit you. I missed you on purpose. I was trying to show you that you need to be more cautious with things. Especially since you’re a father…..” She trailed off as her gaze landed on the ground. The look on her face was one of deep thought with some sadness as she became quiet.

After a few moments Allora looked up at Excadrill, speaking in a quiet, and somewhat desperate tone. “I’m afraid we have more pressing matters…..I found you two because I went to see Veletra after the event in the city. I found her out in the back speaking with a Sentinel named Snype about the ‘garden’. I’m afraid they know about our tunnels and worse…….I think they are going to torture and execute Veletra for information. Snype is known to be as cruel as Frost was, if not worse.” Allora sat beside Excadrill, her tails going from the beautiful wave pattern to having the tops of them droop. “We have to rescue her!”

Things seemed to be proceeding as these sorts of matters typically did. The Ancients had responded to her orders swiftly and with always reliable precision. Snype, the newest Sentinel and nuisance seemed to be enjoying himself. Such a simple creature, seemingly taking pleasure in his capture of the Mismagius figure. Genevieve herself, had been quite distant from the others. Tagging along and just supervising from afar. There was no reason for her to lower herself and start searching like one of the mindless creatures that now swarmed the streets. She was simply biding her time, waiting for the Gold Tribe to come. They would come, this she no longer had any doubt. This mysterious Pokemon, his disappearance, and all the events that seemed to be culminating in this moment. It just couldn’t be coincidence. Hanso told her the truth, he had, in effect, betrayed his own comrades for her, and she couldn’t have been happier.

Her happiness was quickly quelled by the presence of another Sentinel. No longer thinking of him for more than a second, his appearance quickly rectified that. Scar had finally made his entrance, fresh off of resting his weariness from the preceding night’s activities. It wouldn’t be the first time she had worn somebody out so. Or maybe most men just had low stamina in general? He cast a look in her direction, but she made a concerted effort to hold her gaze steady to try and bluff him to think her alright. It may not have worked, but she would sell it to the best of her ability. He finally addressed her directly, after his little conversation with Deluge. Looking at the citizens they had rounded up, it would be interesting to see what Snype would decree be done. Genevieve knew what she would do, but maybe others didn’t think like her. Only time would tell.

Giving Scar her undivided attention once again, she slowly strode up to him, her gait having returned to normal, quite in contrast with how she had been the night prior in front of him. “No, I didn’t sleep very well,” she spoke with him as she neared. “In fact, I felt the evening left -much- to be desired. I shouldn’t be bitter, however. It is just one night of my life and it is such a...small thing. You know, sleep and all.” Leaning over him, she pulled her face close to his ear, her tone suddenly becoming very quiet and hushed so as not let the others hear. “You speak one word of this to anybody and I kill you. And if that doesn’t worry you enough, you’ve seen the way Sovereign looks at me, if he finds out what has transpired here, he will kill us both.” Pulling back just the slightest, she opened her mouth to speak to him one final time. “And he’d most likely start with you.”

Paladin gasped. "You..." he trailed off. This Ninetales, Allora, was one of the Gold Tribe. Excadrill also seemed surprised, and stood up in respect. Allora's eyes glowed blue, and Paladin noticed that she must have been using psychic powers. Interesting. Across the shining gold emblem that hung suspended in the air was marked Allora's title. 'The Shadow Protector,' it said. The next thing Excadrill did surprised Paladin. He bowed, in a similar way that Allora had done, but in a fashion suited to his physique. The mole Pokemon was rather rusty, mind you. Literally. “Does that answer your question, Golurk? And I wasn’t trying to hit you. I missed you on purpose. I was trying to show you that you need to be more cautious with things. Especially since you’re a father…..” The Shadow Protector lectured. Paladin snapped out of his surprise and was about to butt back, but he realized that she was right. What would befall Zed if he were to die? Although he very much doubted that an Energy Ball, even at full power, could have killed one of his caliber, the point still stood.

Excadrill still stayed bowing to Allora. He then said, "It is I who am honored to meet you, lady of the Gold Tribe," He then stood back up with relative difficulty, and continued. "I am but a simple guard. You, on the other hand, are one of the protectors of the Alpha Alliance, or, what's left of it," he praised. Paladin rolled his misshapen eyes, if that was even possible, and set Zed down, noticing that he was becoming uncomfortable with the rough texture of the Golurk's hand. Snype is known to be as cruel as Frost was, if not worse.” Allora explained. This got Excadrill and Paladin on their feet. The matter was indeed pressing, but Allora was wrong about one thing. Nobody could be crueler than Frost. It seemed unfathomable after what she had done to Zed the first. If Paladin had gotten the chance, he would have killed her himself. Unfortunately, the deed was done.

“We have to rescue her!” Allora stated, sitting down next to Excadrill. He looked down and said, "I'm sorry, my lady, but I am too old to fight again. My duty is to guard the secret entrances to the tunnels, and that is it." This surprised Paladin. "You never told me you were old," he said. Excadrill sighed, and Paladin could detect a trace of sorrow in his eyes. "Yes, I am indeed old. My children were already adults when the Silver Tribe invaded. I was enjoying a restful retirement when this tragedy struck," he explained. "You and Allora shall go alone. I can take care of Zed." Paladin nodded respectfully, and walked over to where Allora sat. Her tails were no longer moving in a mesmerizing manner, but instead stayed with tops drooped. Although there was still a slim chance that she could be faking it, Paladin trusted Allora enough to reveal his own identity. "Well then," he began, reaching into his satchel with his overgrown hand. "It looks like we'll have to work together," he continued, taking out the glimmering emblem with his title, 'Paladin,' written across is in bronze lettering. "Sister."

Snype sneered. "Nobody? Whats to say that the Gold Tribe hasn't been mapping out the labyrinth as we speak? Or better yet making underground systems of their own? What do I expect you to do? I expect you to prevent another Eternity City from happening unless you want the to hit us right under our noses! If the gold tribe is mapping out the labyrinth then they have an advantage over us." Snype said. Another sentinel approached them and ordered some of the ancients to move underground and patrol the tunnels. Finally! Someone was doing something!

Snype walked up to the Mismagius and snicked. "Kehehe, Citizens of Cape City... welcome to our demonstration! Kehehe. I advise you all to look at the traitor at all times... if I spot any of you looking away..." A purple gas emanated from Snype's hand. It was Toxic gas. "Kehehe... well... you'll be smart enough to not want to find out..." Snype said. He turned to Veletra and smirked.

"Now then... we're under the suspicion that you assisted an intruder earlier. Tell us his name, species, and his purpose for coming here in the first place. You'll also tell us what you know about the Gold Tribe's current plan. If not, then you'll tell me anyways. I assure you." Snype said.

Allora ~ Plains of Valkaria

Allora was surprised by the Excadrill’s actions. A faint blush creeping onto her cheeks; if a Ninetales could blush that is. She wasn’t used to someone giving her the “royal” treatment. It was normally her having to pay honor to her superiors and comrades before the attack on the city. Now that she was pretty much alone after the attack there wasn’t really anyone to pay tribute. She had gotten used to being someone normal; just another citizen. “Please address me like you would anyone else,” Allora said with a smile. “And don’t cut yourself down so much. Even a simple guard is important. You helped to rescue these two from the Sentinels. If you weren’t there they would’ve been captured or killed in battle.” Allora noticed the annoyed expression on the Golurk’s face and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Her expression became serious again as she listened to theExcadrill who was now looking down. "I'm sorry, my lady, but I am too old to fight again. My duty is to guard the secret entrances to the tunnels, and that is it." This apparently surprised the Golurk. "You never told me you were old," he said. Excadrill sighed, a trace of sorrow in his eyes."Yes, I am indeed old. My children were already adults when the Silver Tribe invaded. I was enjoying a restful retirement when this tragedy struck," he explained. "You and Allora shall go alone. I can take care of Zed." Allora nodded slightly and smiled to reassure the obviously saddened elder. “I understand. You have giving enough to help us. I am grateful for what you have done already.”

Her attention was drawn to the Golurk who approached her. "Well then," he began, reaching into his satchel with his overgrown hand. "It looks like we'll have to work together," he continued, taking out the glimmering emblem with his title, 'Paladin,' written across it in bronze lettering. "Sister." Allora couldn’t help but stare at the emblem, the sight of it obviously shocked her. She took a step closer to get a better look. Immediately she could help but blurt out, “Are there others like you? Do you have a team?” There was excitement and anticipation in her voice. Ashamed of her behavior, Allora cleared her throat and recomposed herself, taking a few steps back and sitting back down; her tails twitching again. “I..I..I’m sorry about that. It’s just…..I haven’t seen another Gold Tribe member since the attack. I thought that everyone was killed and that I was the only one left. I haven’t been able to find anyone from my group or anyone who is willing to tell me they are a member. Please forgive me.” Allora averted her gaze to the nearby shrubs, to ashamed of her actions to look the ‘Paladin’ in the eyes. “So ‘Paladin’, umm….what is your name? I didn’t catch it the first time.”

Veletra
Cape City

"I will tell you NOTHING!" Veletra screamed, struggling to break free from her bonds. She knew what Snype would do to her. It was what she had feared for a long time, ever since coming here to Cape. Ever since she had taken up the habit of helping outlaws, she knew this day would come eventually. 'No good deed goes unpunished' she thought, and chuckled lightly. The thought arose a question in the Mismagius's mind. One she never thought she'd be asking herself: 'Was is worth it?' And, in all fairness, she had the right to ask this question. Why should she die to protect someone she didn't know? But then, her better self took a hold, and reminded her that she would not simply be dying for Saul, but for the Alpha Alliance. The Alpha Alliance had already reclaimed two cities from the clutches of evil, and perhaps, if Veletra persisted and shut her mouth to the very end, then perhaps they could free another.

Veletra's chuckle turned into an almost hysterical laugh, and then subsided into a grin. She looked at the little Sableye before her. Thoughts of glory and triumph empowered her, and suddenly, the little Sableye did not seem so big anymore. "I think, citizens of Cape City, that Snype here is wise to tell you to keep looking. Look at me, and you look at your fate! If these monsters stay in control, you will all one day end up like me!" she shouted at them. Obviously, none of the various types of Pokemon before her reacted or said anything, out of fear. They simply stood, some trembling, and watched.

Paladin
Plains of Valkaria

Paladin was surprised by Allora's reaction to his revelation. Her words had a hint of excitement and anticipation to them, something Paladin did not expect from the serious Ninetales. “Are there others like you? Do you have a team?” she blurted out. She seemed like she had not seen one like her in a long time. “I..I..I’m sorry about that. It’s just…..I haven’t seen another Gold Tribe member since the attack. I thought that everyone was killed and that I was the only one left. I haven’t been able to find anyone from my group or anyone who is willing to tell me they are a member. Please forgive me.” she excused, seemingly ashamed of her attitude. Paladin could understand Allora's surprise, he had felt it only moments ago, only he had exhibited more control. A rare thing for one such as him. "It's fine, really," he said, placing his emblem back into his satchel. "In response to you previous questions, no, I'm alone," Paladin explained. He noticed that Allora was trying not to look him in the eyes, instead gazing at some nearby shrubbery. "Ah, yes," Excadrill butted in, "I forgot to tell you. Our friend Paladin here can't remember anything about himself before the events of the war," he explained. Paladin nodded in agreement.

“So ‘Paladin’, umm….what is your name? I didn’t catch it the first time.” Allora asked. This made Paladin remember a time when he could not even remember his own name. When he'd first awoken, he only knew his title, and that was only because he still had his emblem. He'd felt lost and confused for a long time, until a few months after his awakening, he'd finally remembered his real name: Saul. By this time, however, he'd become accustomed to being called Paladin, and he also referred to himself as such. "My name's Pal -err- Saul. Saul Sypher," he said, momentarily stumbling over his words. After a moment's silence, Paladin said, "Well, thank you for all your help, Excadrill," turning to face his friend, "I am eternally grateful. And please take good care of Zed. I will be back for him." The Excadrill nodded. "It was an honor to meet you, Paladin. Good luck. You too, Allora." The mole Pokemon proceeded to dig a new entrance into the tunnel system below. Paladin turned to Allora and said, "Well, we'd better be off, sister." With that, the Golurk was down the entrance.

There was a debt to be repaid, and some Ancient skulls to smash.

Snype smirked as Veletra tried to act big, saying that she wouldn't say a word. Snype was perpared though. He knew how to get her talk. She seemed to care alot about the citizens. Snype on the other hand, didn't. Whatever gets the job done. He decided not to use physical violence on Veletra. When she mentioned that the others would end up like her, Snype simply laughed.

"Oh please, you don't seem to understand. They're about to end up like you." Snype said with a sinister chuckle. Without a second thought, he used Toxic on a random Pokemon in the crowd. He ended up picking the mother of a small family... He really didn't pay attention to who he hit but she was covered in toxic gas. It was bound to give anyone close minor poisoning but only the target would receive major poisoning. Quickly, she was poisoned badly and was slowly going to die at this rate. The citizens were about to panic but several ancients surrounded the crowd making sure they wouldn't leave.

"Kehehe... you see Veletra, you hold the fate of everyone gathered around here. It really starts to beg the question of who will be the bigger villain here? Me for holding you here? Or you? For refusing to cooperate and causing the loss of several loved ones in the many families gathered here today... kehehe... you don't have to tell us a thing. I'll just continue to poison and burn everyone here. If we run out? I'll find more. Kehehe... I think I hear the sound of your conscience screaming! What's it gonna be?" Snype said with a large piercing smile. He turned to the crowd.

"I know you saw the intruder around here! Your all free to speak for her as well! Otherwise we can continue playing the silent game! Either way, I win." Snype taunted.

Allora ~ Tunnels

Allora’s gaze fell to the ground as she listened to Paladin. "In response to your previous questions, no, I'm alone," he explained. “Oh……I see.” Allora sighed and her tail drooped again as the excitement left her. "Ah, yes," Excadrill butted in, "I forgot to tell you. Our friend Paladin here can't remember anything about himself before the events of the war, "he explained. Allora looked up at Paladin as he nodded in agreement, curiosity flooding her thoughts. ‘Wonder why he can’t remember. Did he suffer a head injury and has amnesia?’ Lost in thought for a bit, Allora was brought back to reality by the stuttering Golurk. "My name's Pal -err- Saul. Saul Sypher," he said. Allora smiled and bowed towards Saul much like she did to Excadrill. “It is an honor to meet you Saul. I’m glad to know I have a ‘brother’ in arms.” After a moment's silence, Paladin said, "Well, thank you for all your help, Excadrill," turning to face his friend, "I am eternally grateful. And please take good care of Zed. I will be back for him." The Excadrill nodded. "It was an honor to meet you, Paladin. Good luck. You too, Allora." The mole Pokemon proceeded to dig a new entrance into the tunnel system below.

Allora took a small purple bag from her satchel as she waited for Excadrill to return to Zed’s side. “Thank you Excadrill, please stay safe. If you ever find yourself in a position where the Silver Tribe is going to find you and baby Zed, please seek out a friend of mine named Cardan.” Her eyes glowed as she stared at the elderly Pokemon. Excadrill’s eyes started to glow as well as the path, through the sewers, to Cardan was shown to him. “You will meet two Grimer who are the guards. Tell them that I sent you and that you want to speak with Cardan. ”Allora’s words seemed distant to Excadrill as she broke her connection with him; both of their eyes returning to normal. “Tell him you want protection and give him this as a payment. He should take you two to his ‘safe’ room. There you won’t have to worry about being found.” Allora placed the purple bag in his hands. "Well, we'd better be off, sister." Paladin addressed her and proceeded down the entrance. Allora addressed the Excadrill one last time before following Paladin down into the tunnels. “Take care you two.”

Once in the tunnels Allora took the lead, looking back every few moments to make sure Paladin was following. “So I noticed that Excadrill was calling you Paladin. Do you prefer Saul or Paladin?” She smiled and slowed the pace a bit once they were close to where the city limits would be. “So what is our plan? We can count on having a handful of ancients and at least one Sentinel surrounding Veletra. The ancients I’m not so worried about, it’s Snype that concerns me. Being a Sableye he has an advantage over me. My psychic abilities won’t work on him. I’ll be able to confuse him but other than that I’ll have to rely on my other abilities.” Her tails twitched in the hypnotic pattern again but his time with a little more force in the twitch. Allora looked back at Paladin again before returning her attention back to the path.

Hanso SharpEye
~~~~~
Technically, he could have let Lashire in on the telepathic network, but Hanso wasn't entirely sure about the scouts they'd met. Well, then again, the Eevee was probably what she seemed to be, if she'd fallen asleep. Saul and Lashire, though...well, in Hanso's mind, they might have fit in with the Thieves, for one thing. That was presuming a bit much, but they had yet to truly prove whose side they were on. Regardless, Lashire warned the Gold Tribe to stay quiet, especially after Ragnaros' statement. He also told them that the lights in the tunnels were Ancients, which Hanso confirmed with a quick mental scan. As they continued on, the Gallade began wondering again why they couldn't just teleport to their destination. The tunnels were mazelike and dark enough that Hanso felt he couldn't really use a good reference point. There wasn't enough light to see if there were special markings or landmarks of any sort.
When Lashire and Zane paused at the lead of the group for longer than before, Hanso's arm-blades eased out. He kept himself from preparing an attack, but they would need to be ready. Hanso almost put out a hand to stop Lashire when the Pawniard went back the way they came; Zane's words for the Gold Tribe to get ready came next. When the group began running, hopefully with as much stealth as they could muster, Hanso kept an eye out behind them. He almost bumped into the others in front when they stopped to wait for Lashire, pulling his attention away for a few seconds. Aren't we supposed to keep runni-- Snap! A Kabutops had appeared, and there was no time to hit him from a distance. Hanso's eyes glowed as he was about to teleport, but Saul beat him to the punch. Definitely could be a Thief if he wanted... Yet the Tyrogue had rescued the Gold Tribe from certain detection. It could be that they were on the same side, after all.
"Be on alert." Zane's voice spoke in the network as Saul led them further into the tunnels. Hanso had nothing to dwell on but the present. When they entered a room that Saul opened, Lashire was waiting for them. "What happened?"
Saul leaned against a wall, still covered in blood. "What ya think? They stopped. You know, it's good of me to have stayed back and waited up there! Sheesh! They are idiots!"
Lashire frowned at his words but turned to Zane and smiled widely. "We are actually here Mr. Vigil!" He stated proudly. I will ask you all to stay here for the moment while we enter the main cavern. It's procedure and also... with a Scizor in your group and the fact that the Sentinels do enlist former Gold Tribe members, you could easily be mistaken for Sentinels, no need to get shishkabobed with all kinds of attacks right?" He asked with a smile.
Saul readjusted his pack. "Yeah, stay tight and don't do anything stupid like, say, readying an attack or something." He muttered. "That will lead to death instantly."
Hanso was newly aware of his arm-blades, which he reluctantly sheathed. Then again, until they met the mystery Pokemon, they probably weren't really on the same side. As the trio disappeared into another room and Zane spoke to the Gold Tribe, Hanso tried probing the wall with his mind. Normally, solid rock was enough to hinder, or even halt, attempts to get anything mental through. It felt thin enough that Hanso might get his telepathy-sense through if he worked at it...
No! Hanso started coughing as gas poured into the room. The telepathic network dissolved as his mind began to cloud. Not again! I WILL NOT BE... The Gallade's mental shout faded before it could hit anyone on the other side of the wall, which was Hanso's last thought before he faded out.
"Do you know the difference between a Dragon, and a monster, Sovereign?" Erratt asked his son, as they sat around the fire. Sovereign stared blankly at his father and shook his head. "They both possess great power, and are capable of great feats. But a monster would give up his soul in the pursuit of even greater power. You must never let yourself become intoxicated by the power you possess, Sovereign. For it will destroy you, if you give it the opportunity..."
Sovereign searched the city for signs of any seismic activity. There was definitely an earthquake somewhere nearby, but where? He ultimately found himself outside the walls of the city once again, where he found exactly what he was looking for. Not far from where they had seen the anomaly in the sky, there was a series of cracks, and what appeared to be a small hole in the ground. A Diglett? Perhaps someone had helped the intruder find his way into the city? Sovereign touched the earth around the hole, examining it for any clues as to what had caused it. He was not familiar with any Pokemon that could generate an earthquake like that, and fly. Could they really be the same? "Maybe I could find something if...?" No, he couldn't try to tap the darkness. It was too dangerous. But what other choice was there? They needed to find their target. Varren could not be trusted though. His soul was not worth the location of a single vermin. They would flush him out. All they needed was time.
Veletra
Cape City
Veletra said nothing. Nothing at all. She had expected the citizens to be killed, but not in this way. Not in such a cruel manner. And if that wasn't enough, their death would be on her own head. She couldn't bear watching the poor mother Raichu who had just been struck by the Toxic. The mouse Pokemon went into a coughing fit, and fell to the ground. Her baby Pichu approached her at its own peril, and it, too, became poisoned. The surrounding citizens looked terrified, some preparing to run away, but they were immediately surrounded by a ring of Ancients who mysteriously seemed immune to Toxic's effects.
"Kehehe... you see Veletra, you hold the fate of everyone gathered around here. It really starts to beg the question of who will be the bigger villain here? Me for holding you here? Or you? For refusing to cooperate and causing the loss of several loved ones in the many families gathered here today... kehehe... you don't have to tell us a thing. I'll just continue to poison and burn everyone here. If we run out? I'll find more. Kehehe... I think I hear the sound of your conscience screaming! What's it gonna be?" Snype sneered, with that annoyingly large grin on his face. Veletra wanted to smash the little vermin to bits right that instant, but she couldn't. Even if she wasn't restrained by these ropes, she knew that if she killed Snype, the ancients would surely kill her and the rest of the citizens. There was only one solution. If that failed, all was lost. She had been doing it for her whole life, but she never needed it more than now.
"Alright! Okay! I'll tell you," she wailed, tears welling up in her eyes at the sight of the Raichu. "His name is Tunar. Tunar Sylvester. He's a Flygon, and he is of the Gold Tribe, but he was separated from the main group. He came here looking for them," she lied. Veletra had always been a good liar, and showed no telltale signs that she was doing so. "Just...please, give that Raichu a few Pecha Berries!"
Paladin
Underground
"Alright, my lady. I will go if necessary," Paladin heard from above. It seemed that Excadrill was still speaking with Allora. After that, he saw Allora enter the passageway. From above, Paladin saw Excadrill one last time, as he collapsed the entrance he had just created. Now, the two were left in complete and utter darkness. Paladin used some of the energies within him to make his eyes shine a faint beam of light. If there was someone down here, they did not want to attract their attention. Paladin momentarily though that perhaps it would have been faster and less dangerous to fly over the city wall again, but then decided that after his recent stunt with the falling Kabutops, the Sentinels would have their eyes on the sky.
"Okay..." Paladin muttered. The two Pokemon had come to a fork in the tunnels. Paladin remembered the specific instructions that Excadrill had given him on where to go, and consulted the rather low-quality map that he had been given. It was clear that not even half of the tunnel system was marked on this map, and Paladin wondered whether or not anybody had charted the whole thing yet. Luckily, one of the most obscure entrances to the city was marked on this map. The map showed the same fork in the path, but no indication of which way to go. Upon closer inspection, Paladin found that there was in fact a faint trace of an arrow pointing towards the left tunnel. "This way," Paladin decided, hoping that the arrow was not a figment of his imagination.
“So I noticed that Excadrill was calling you Paladin. Do you prefer Saul or Paladin?” Allora asked. She smiled a little, and Paladin realized she was not as bad as he had previously thought. "I'd rather you call me Paladin. It was the only name I had at first," he said. He found himself feeling much more comfortable around Allora than around others. Perhaps it was the fact that he had finally found someone he could trust, or maybe her psychic abilities had some part in this. Either way, he let himself go for a few moments. They were approaching the city limits. “So what is our plan? We can count on having a handful of ancients and at least one Sentinel surrounding Veletra. The ancients I’m not so worried about, it’s Snype that concerns me. Being a Sableye he has an advantage over me. My psychic abilities won’t work on him. I’ll be able to confuse him but other than that I’ll have to rely on my other abilities.” Allora explained. She had a point, but before Paladin was able to say anything in response, he heard a slight noise coming from a nearby tunnel.
The unmistakable noise of footsteps. "Stop!" Paladin whispered. He stopped moving and moved ahead of Allora. The tunnel they were currently in went on ahead for a few kilometers, but the tunnel also branched off to the right. Through this right tunnel came two Pokemon: an Armaldo and a Bastiodon. Ancients. Bad news. Paladin turned back to Allora and whispered, "Ancients." This time, though, he had to be careful. These Ancients were not Kabutops, they were both formidable Pokemon. While one was better made for attack, the other possessed incredible defense capabilities.
The Golurk made his way back to Allora and said, in a hushed voice, "When they come around the tunnel, I'll kill the leading Armaldo, and you confuse the Bastiodon,"
Snype winced at her supposed explanation. He gave off a smile as if Snype had actually believed her. Snype simply snickered. "A Flygon huh? Kehehe. Was it necessary to dig a tunnel to help him escape? Kehehe... whatever. Sounds believable enough." Snype said. He didn't seem to trust her too much but that was the best he got so far. Well that takes care of the Pokemon... Snype supposed. He smirked and looked at Veletra. He wasn't done with her yet but he would be soon.
"Kehehe... I'm sure theres more you can tell us. That Flygon didn't escape by flight. We'd have seen it. How did he get out?" Snype asked.
He snapped his fingers once more. "Send a group of Ancients to investigate her home! Check her "garden" mostly. She was hiding back there for some reason. She mentioned something about a digglet. Lie or not, I want that garden checked." Snype commanded.
"It's either gonna be you, the citizens here, or we'll just find it ourselves. The longer you take, the more I kill." Snype said, still keeping his large smile.
Allora ~ Tunnels
Allora smiled again and nodded slightly, “Well then Paladin it is hehe.” She didn’t know why but for some reason being around this gentle giant made her feel at home. Maybe it was that she had finally found another Gold Tribe member but she couldn’t stop smiling at him. It made her happy to be around him and to know she wasn’t alone anymore. He made her feel like she belonged again. He was her new family and she was going to protect him like family. She wasn’t going to lose anyone ever again if she can help it.
"Stop!" Paladin whispered. Allora froze upon hearing Paladin’s order, her ears perking up a bit trying to listen. She sat and waited for him, hearing his footsteps depart a ways before returning to her side. He talked to her in a hushed voice, "When they come around the tunnel, I'll kill the leading Armaldo, and you confuse the Bastiodon." “Deal,” Allora whispered back and moved to the side a bit to get a good line of sight on the oncoming Ancients. Her tails flared, staying straight up, and her eyes started to glow very, very faintly as she prepared her Confuse Ray.
Once the Armaldo was close enough to be taken out by Paladin, she fired her Confuse Ray at the Bastiodon. The only visible part of the attack was the small, glowing, gold center thanks to the pitch black tunnel. The ball flew straight at the Bastiodon then circled it, before disappearing, as its affects took ahold. ‘Gotcha!’ Allora grinned at her thought as she made sure to stay out of Paladin’s way so he could take out the Armaldo.
Dinorah nodded to Zane and wrapped a single vine around his waist. "Thank you." She replied softly and continued on, following closely as they made a few turns through the black darkness of the tunnels. When they came to a halt because there was a large group of ancients guarding the tunnel ahead, she would silently nod to Zane as he told them all to be ready to move when Lashire executed his distraction. She couldn't help but worry about the Pawniard being captured while they escaped, but had to figure he had some sort of plan to avoid such a fate. When the ancients moved to investigate the distraction, she moved quickly with the others, however she stopped when Zane did, still connected to him by her vine.
She looked back with horror to see an ancient coming back, and it has spotted them, but just as it was about to sound the alarm, the Tyrogue grabbed it by the throat, covered it's mouth, and silenced it permanently with a knife through the throat. She blinked, still shaking a bit at how close that was, but continued further with the others, nodding as they were told to wait outside and not ready any attack, but be cautious. Then there was a hissing sound and she looked toward its source, seeing green gas. She gasped and held her breath as she looked around at the others, not sure what to do. She didn't want to leave them all here, but she had to get away from the gas if she was to help anyone. She ran, but her indecision cost her, as she soon ran out of breath before she escaped the gas, choked down a big breath of it, and soon collapsed just a short distance from the others.
The Armaldo was big. Bigger than your average Armaldo. This slightly intimidated Paladin, despite the fact that he was still at least a meter taller than the Ancient. Paladin's opponent came around the corner first, and Paladin pounced on him with all his might. When he had him pinned to the ground, Paladin placed his giant palm over the Ancient's mouth to prevent him from crying out for help. Then, he proceeded knee the creature in its plate-covered stomach. The hit didn't do much damage, and the Armaldo retaliated with a slice at Paladin's head. Paladin blocked the hit with his thick arm, though it did leave a large cut where it had struck. Then, Paladin knocked the Armaldo's claw to the side and grabbed his throat, making sure to grip it tight enough so that no noise would come from the flailing Ancient. Then, Paladin skillfully struck the Armaldo in his neck with a Shadow Punch, effectively rendering his voice box useless. With the noise factor out of the way, Paladin proceeded to attempt to Shadow Punch the Ancient's face, but he blocked the attack with his other claw. Paladin began to notice little white rocks surrounding the Armaldo, and knew what he was doing.
Without warning, Paladin began to get pelted by rocks. Rock after rock after rock. Some bounced harmlessly off of Paladin's massive form, but others managed to hit in the face, and the chest, which was a very sensitive section of a Golurk's body. He stumbled back, trying to regain his sight after a couple of rocks had hit him in the eyes. Before he could, however, the Armaldo ran up to the larger Golurk, jumped up into the air, and X-Scissored him in the chest. Paladin was propelled backwards by the blow, and landed on top of the confused Basiodon nearby. A moment later, his sight came back, and he could see that he had accidentally forced the Basiodon to the ground, and that the Armaldo was coming at him with another X-Scissor. "Enough of this," Paladin muttered to himself, and charged forward at the Ancient, readying a Giga Impact. When the two collided, the opposing Armaldo was crushed under the might of Paladin's body, and pushed into the earth mercilessly. Paladin rose to see the corpse of his defeated foe, buried into the earth where it would stay.
Next was the Basiodon. Paladin wanted to help Allora kill it, but he was exhausted from his own fight and the Giga Impact had rendered him powerless for a few moments. "Guuugh...ugh..." the Basiodon muttered as it accidentally bumped into a wall of the cave. "Incapacitate it!" Paladin ordered. "If it rams one of the cave walls, it'll create a tremor above that will give off our location!"
Allora ~ Tunnels
Allora stood by and watched as Paladin wrestled around with the Armaldo. Her psychic abilities allowing her to see every detail in the pitch black tunnel. She wanted to help Paladin but didn’t want to accidently hit him with her attacks. It tore at her to see Paladin having some difficulty silencing the brute of an Ancient. Allora paced back and forth in the tunnel, her tails flicking in an almost a whip like pattern, as she watched the battle unfold. After seeing Paladin get the upper hand on the Armaldo, Allora was able to relax enough to focus on the Bastiodon in case it broke free of its confusion and attacked.
Allora watched as the Bastiodon stumbled around drunkenly, bumping into the wall. Surprisingly the sound echoed through the tunnel as it shook slightly. Allora knew her foe was powerful but she didn’t think it was powerful enough to cause that big of an aftershock. "Incapacitate it!" Paladin ordered. "If it rams one of the cave walls, it'll create a tremor above that will give off our location!" “On it!” Allora called to Paladin as the Bastiodon finally snapped out of its confusion. Upon hearing Allora call out, the Bastiodon charged towards the sound of her voice using Iron Head. Allora also charged towards the Ancient, jumping over its short stature just before they collided. As soon as she landed, Allora spun around on her front paws so she was facing the Bastiodon once again.
Allora stood her ground as she watched the bulky Ancient slowly turn around. She waited until the Bastiodon fully faced her. Allora took a small step forward and, winking at the Ancient in a cute manner, sent an Attract right at it. She knew that this attack wouldn’t work on another female but she took the risk, figuring that most of the Ancients would be male. Allora’s risk paid off as the Bastiodon mumbled shyly in her direction. It was obvious that he was now infatuated with her. Allora smirked as she walked towards the Ancient in a seductive manner. The Bastiodon didn’t know what to do and started marching in place in a nervous matter. Allora kept approaching him until he was in point blank range of her attack. “Got you!” she whispered as she fired a powerful Heat Wave right at the Ancient’s face.
“Rrrraaaaahhhhh,” was all that came out of the Bastiodon, as he thrashed a bit in pain, before collapsing to the ground. Slowly Allora approached the Ancient to confirm that he was dead. Without any indication, the Bastiodon lunged at Allora with a Heavy Slam; colliding with her head on. Allora yelped in pain as the force of the blow sent her petite body flying a few yards down the tunnel. The force of the blow knocking the wind out of her for a few seconds. Slowly Allora tried to stumble to her feet. Immediately pain shot through her right shoulder as she collapsed to the ground again. Allora growled angrily at the Ancient as she managed to stand back up on three of her four legs. “Damn you and your Sturdy ability Ancient!” she hissed as she fired an Energy Ball, at full strength, at the very weak Bastiodon. The Ancient was too injured to dodge the blow as it hit him and silenced him forever. His body landed with a thud as the weight of his corpse settled.
Allora sighed and sat down as she tried to relax from all the adrenaline coursing through her veins. “Are you ok Paladin?” she said just loud enough for him to hear her. Once she caught her breathe, she tried to put weight on her right leg. Instantly pain shot through her shoulder again. Allora bit her lower lip as she shifted her weight back onto her left leg. “I think my shoulder is dislocated. Can you pop it back in for me?” Slowly she hobbled towards Paladin, her gait obviously not use to only using three legs. After shortening the distance between them some, Allora sat once again and waited for Paladin to approach her.
Paladin stood and watched Allora as he recovered his strength from the Giga Impact. The gash in his right arm did not bleed, but instead released clouds of the unknown energy that filled the Golurk's body. When Allora's fight was over, the worry for her safety drained from him, and he focused more on his arm. The arm that had been hit was his dark one, and as such, clouds of seemingly green, gas-like energy escaped it. A sense of dread overcame Paladin, as he remembered that these clouds could be fatal to anyone who came near them. “Are you ok Paladin?” Allora asked. “I think my shoulder is dislocated. Can you pop it back in for me?” Paladin wanted to help his friend in need, but he knew that if she came near to the fumes, she would die a slow, painful death. "Stay away from me!" Paladin ordered the approaching Ninetales. He tried to cover the wound with his palm, but the lighter-than-air energy just continued pouring out, filling the tunnel around him with fatal gas.
In fear for both his friend's safety and his own, Paladin reached into his bag, looking for something to patch the wound up with. He began to feel weak, and he could hear a slight budging noise from his chest. His seal was being damaged. Normally, the energies inside a Golurk would harmlessly dissipate on contact with the oxygen all around them. However, the energies on the dark side of his body had become corrupted, and as such, were poisonous. "Get away, Allora!" he shouted desperately one last time, though he could no longer see the Shadow Protector through the thick fog created by the leaking energy. Finally, he managed to find a bandage inside his bag that he had forgotten was there. He quickly wrapped it around his arm, completely covering the gash created by the Armaldo's claw. Finally, after a few more moments, the gas around them vanished like it normally would, only leaving behind the awful smell of rotten eggs.
"Allora?" Paladin scanned the area for any signs of the Shadow Protector. He hoped she had managed to avoid getting caught by the energy by diving into the next tunnel. However, the entrance to the tunnel had collapsed somehow, possibly during the course of their fight. Now, the only way in was a small opening in the top-right corner of the rubble blocking the way. "Allora?!" Paladin shouted again, hoping for a response.
Veletra
Cape City
Veletra scanned her brain for another lie. She had apparently been able to make Snype believe her this time, but he still seemed suspicious. Nothing was being done for the Raichu writhing in pain, however, and Veletra watched as she finally fell into the darkness of death. Ignoring Snype's next question, she attempted once again to break free from her bonds. "You monster! She's dead!" she screamed pointlessly. She didn't know what else to say. The Raichu's death was not on her head, she reminded herself, it was Snype's doing. She couldn't kill him, or she'd have the entire army on her hands, and many more dead innocents. Keeping her angry, saddened expression, she formulated a lie as an answer to Snype's last question, "We...We knew you would be watching the sky, so I asked my friends Diglett and Dugtrio to..." she stuttered, pretending to be be reluctantly telling him this, "to create an entirely new tunnel in the tunnels beneath us, one leading away from Cape," she said. She took a moment to shed some tears for the fallen Raichu, and continued to lie. "He's far away by now, so you can call off this stupid little search!" Her expression strengthened. She had told the truth at one time, though. Paladin was hopefully far away by now. Hopefully.
Snype crossed his arms and gave off a neutral expression. He looked at the fallen Raichu mother as the Pichu near her cried and cried for her death. It was enough to make him shed a tear... not! He got the information he needed! One citizen was enough to get what he wanted! He knew who escaped and he was correct about the underground tunnels. He had no need for Veletra now. He smirked at her.
"Kehehe, see? That wasn't so hard was it? He said, ignoring the fact a dead body was among the crowd. "You've done a good service for the silver tribe. And you'll be properly awarded..." Snype put a hand on her cheek and placed it under her chin, quickly a poisonous gas emerged from his hands to poison her as well. It was a minor poison though. She wouldn't die right away so it would be slow and painful.
"Imprison her. We got what we need." Snype said with a sinister laugh.
Scar crossed his arms as he observed the newest Sentinel Snype interrogate Veletra. He found his techniques and methods brutal, cruel, and downright despicable, which meant that the two would be getting along splendidly. However, something did irk him as he was finally able to get an answer from the prisoner regarding the object in the sky they had seen earlier. She mentioned a Gold Tribe member, Tunar Sylvester, who was supposedly behind this. But Scar had never heard of this member before, neither during his tenure with the Gold Tribe, nor after as he fought against them during these past two years. This could mean two things: either the Pokemon was lying, or other Gold Tribe members were still around besides the group that travelled from Albia. Although he didn't know the answer, he was quite certain Deluge, with his memory, would know. It was strange that the Castform had not spoken up before, though. He probably was doing something similar to what Scar was doing, not interfering to see the capabilities of the newest Sentinel.
Though the news of the underground tunnels proved to be true. That much of the information salvaged proved to be valuable. All in all, Scar figured Snype passed his test.
The sound of cries and whimpers filled the immediate area as the civilians watched on in horror as the Sableye killed yet another pokemon. It was odd in a way that one passing pokemon didn't seem to be cringing as she walked along a different street. For the past few days they had been watching silently. They had waited for the return, and now that they were whole once more they had been given the command to start it off. In a way she was scared. Weren't all pokemon scared of death? Yet at the same time she wanted to embrace it. She wanted to have it be meaningful, to have a light in the midst of the darkness. She made her way toward a group of Ancients at a calm pace. Not too fast or she would lose the element she had been striving for the past few weeks.
At the same time a dagger flew through the air landing right next to the Mienshao Sentinel's feet. Attached to the weapon was a small white note. Yet as the Sentinel glanced about he would not see one pokemon within the area. The only other pokemon there were the civilians they had rounded up.
Scar glanced down at his feet, and hastily picked up the knife. He read the attached note.
You shouldn't have done that... prepare for the retaliation.
And that was all it said. With confusion, Scar displayed the note to the other Sentinels. "Someone's idea of a joke? Because if so, it's in poor taste and definitely to the wrong Pokemon."
In another part of the city a hooded Sandshrew made his way to a house and glanced about before heading inside. The house only had two occupants who nodded and moved away a carpet that revealed a hole in the ground. With a grunt the Sandshrew lept down the hole and began to move down it, It twisted and turned about as he headed to where he last saw them enter. The time was soon and he had to be quick to avoid any collapses. The plan was coming together as forseen.
Calmness was always key. As she neared she saw a Kabutops lift it's head toward her. Now. The time was now. She stopped right there and the Pachirisu shouted at the top of her lungs, "THE REVOLUTION HAS COME!" Suddenly the tiny pokemon's body began to change. There were flashes of pink skin as her body grew much larger and into a round shape and the pink skin began to change into white and red. In her place was now an Electrode that glared at the Ancients. "Phase one has started." She whispered as her body glowed a bight white and the ditto exploded with full force. Nearby buildings felt the blow as windows shattered and pokemon fell down to the ground. The Ancients nearby were incinerated by the blast and those nearby were flug away to fall several feet away on the ground.
At that same time the whole city shuddered with tremors as two other explosions went off at the same time in the Southern and Eastern parts of city. Buildings shook and small piles of smoke began to drift into the air as a few dead Ancients littered the affected areas.
The Sandshrew grunted as the tunnels shuddered fromt the explosions. He grabbed onto a wall waiting for the tremors to cease before he continued running. He was almost there, he could smell their scent in the air still and it was getting fresher. Finally he stopped at the end of the tunnel and saw the two. The Ninetails and the Golurk.
"Yo! Goldies!" He shouted out loud and gestured toward himself. "Come with me! Unless you want these tunnels to fill with Ancients! They'll be here soon!" With that he turned and began to run on all fours. They were near another entrance and soon enough to freedom. "This way!" He cried out as he looked back to see if they followed and stopped near a wall, slamming his hand near it causing the wall to slid open. He fled inside still expecting the two to follow after.
Meanwhile up top, Scar tried to make sense of the chaos that had just erupted around him. However, it was clear enough to him, having experienced something similar in Eternity City. "I have had enough of these damned rebellions! This ends now!" Scar exclaimed. He turned to the nearest Kabutops, and bellowed to his face, "Send the entire first and second batallions into those tunnels. We know that's where they are. I don't care how long it takes. FIND THEM!"
He was fuming, and the Ancient, taking notice of that, reacted immediately. Scar turned to the other Sentinels. "I've had enough of these games. We're going to get control of this situation. Now."
Everything was dark. There was no light, no figures, no nothing. But then, he heard voices. They spoke as if they were far away, but were moving closer. The voices became louder and louder, until eventually, whatever Zane heard was clear. The pitch black he ‘saw’ slowly morphed away as well, and a scene developed in front of him. He was sure now, he was dreaming again, judging by the blurs still visible on the outer edges of his sight.
It was a room, indoors of some sort. Zane didn’t recognize the place, but he did recognize those inside. A room of Pokemon, the same from some of his dreams prior. The Zangoose Kent “Kaiser” Reed, The Roserade Alex “Burstborn” Dusklore, the Absol Silver “Vescica Argentum”. The Toxicroak Vincent “Stingfist” Pain. Others too, all bearing the symbols of the Gold Tribe. They surrounded in the center a lone Pokemon in the center, a Blaziken, whose eyes were black as knight. Around his neck, Zane could see the outlines of a crystal, the Silver Crystal. But Zane also saw a Gold Tribe emblem on him. He was once a Gold Tribe member. The Pokemon battled the Gold Tribe alone, and yet his power was strong enough to fight through all of them. The Absol was flung back by a powerful blaze of flame, and the Blaziken targeted him again with another roar of fire from his mouth. The Zangoose Kent stepped in the way, summoning his signature attack of the Reed family, a Thunder cast from the sky, not just as an offensive attack but as a defensive one, a protection from oncoming attacks. The Thunder worked its magic, and blocked the flame. The others surrounded the Silver Crystal wielder, firing their own attacks upon him, as he countered with a Fire Spin the size and strength of which Zane had never seen before. The fighting ensued, as Zane watched from an apparent distance. But the outcome was not to be shown to him, as the scene faded away, and consciousness took hold of him…
Zane sat up, awoken from his dream as the recollection of what had happened hit him. They had traveling with a group of scouts who were supposed to lead them to someone that would help them, but ended up poisoned and gassed by likely the same individual. Unsure of the current situation, Zane examined his surroundings.
The room he was in was a bit dark. There was a candle near the top of the room that only gave off just the tiniest bit of light. Enough to see through the darkness for a few feet. The walls were gray and had tiny scratches on them. In fact they looked like claw scratches and it looked like whoever made them had been trying to count something due to how every four scratches there was a fifth slashing through them. There was no furniture of any kind in the room and no windows either. There was one wall however that really wasn't a wall. Instead there were multiple iron balls coming from the top of the ceiling down to the floor. There were fitted so close together that even a Treeko would have a hard time getting through them. Though with the light Zane was able to see Bloodthirster just down the hallway in another room just like his! In fact as Zane pushed against each wall and craned his neck to see down the hallway he saw other cells that no doubt held the other Gold Tribe members.
Bloodthirster, Wildfire, Sword and Shield, Speculum, Guardia, Hoodhide and Dryad were in their own little cell. Each as bare as Zane's was. But he couldn't spot the rest of them, whether they were in cells further down, or somewhere else entirely. No matter how hard he pulled at the bars they wouldn't give and even his attacks seemed to do no damage to them, but as he did attack them he would feel a bit weaker each and every time. There were no guards here as far as Zane could tell.
"Is everyone alright?" He asked from behind his cell, wondering how the others were doing.
???
"Wake up Goldies~" A voice sang out.
As Truestriker, the Prince of Light, Blitzkrieg, Dinorah, Bane, the Keeper, Gallant, The Healer, and The Swift would rise back toward consciousness they would find themselves in a furnished room that glowed from the various candles inside. They were all on their own bed that was well cushioned and they would see a entire table full of food before them. There were breads and sweets and meats and water just lying there. Gallant however looked for the voice that had spoken up before. There was only one other occupant in the room and that was an Abra sitting upside down on a chair grinning at them.
"Ah! The Goldies are up! Feeling fresh? Relaxed?" He giggled to himself. "I would be too if I had a great nap! Some people get all the good stuff!" He flipped himself off the table and landed on his feet as he looked at them. "Well? Aren't ya all going to dig in? Not digging of course but 'dig'." He grabbed a bread off the table and bit into it and got back on the chair. "So what's hip and happening? I think I got a view sometime ago but what did you all see?" He asked eagerly as he took another bite.
"Wake up Goldies~" A voice sang out.
Accatosh woke from his dream to find himself in a well furnished room with Truestriker, the Prince of Light, Dinorah, Bane, the Keeper, Gallant, The Healer, and The Swift all waking up. An Abra was sitting upside down on a chair grinning at them.
"Ah! The Goldies are up! Feeling fresh? Relaxed?" He giggled to himself. "I would be too if I had a great nap! Some people get all the good stuff!" He flipped himself off the table and landed on his feet as he looked at them. "Well? Aren't ya all going to dig in? Not digging of course but 'dig'." He grabbed a bread off the table and bit into it and got back on the chair. "So what's hip and happening? I think I got a view sometime ago but what did you all see?" He asked eagerly as he took another bite.
Accatosh slowly rose, reaching his full height, and looking cautiously around taking a mental headcount, Where's Vigil and the rest of the group? he looked at the Abra with a blank expression, "mind if I ask you a question? Where is the rest of our group? Where are we? and Who are you?" his voice slowly rose with irritation, "I swear by my honor that if you harmed them, It'll be the last thing you have ever done!" his anger rising to the point of smoke starting to come out of his nostrils and a growl erupting from his thought. he continued looking around, worry slowly growing. Where were they, why wern't they here with the group, what was the meaning of the sleeping powder gas?. he turned his head to the Abra with a menacing expression, the kind that would make a Steelix run and hide.
Allora ~ Tunnels
Allora stared at Paladin as a thick gas started to emerge from his body, unsure what was happening. "Stay away from me!" Paladin ordered. Allora took a step back, surprised at the order given to her. She could tell there was a hint of fear in his voice but she didn’t know why. Allora took a few more steps back as the gas engulfed her partner. “Paladin what’s happening? What is this?” she called to him as the gas started to come closer and closer. "Get away, Allora!" he shouted desperately. Panic slowly started to fill Allora as she desperately looked around for a way out. She was backed into a corner and the only obvious exit was through the gas. Still she knew she had to do something. There had to be another way out. She could see the other tunnel but it was now blocked by rocks that must’ve fallen during the fight and the gas had already started to swallow it.
‘There is no other way. I have to try that technique.’ This and many other thoughts flooded her mind as the gas was about to engulf her. Enduring the pain, Allora stood on all of her paws. Her tails stood straight up as she braced her body. Her eyes glowed a bright blue, brighter than they normal are, as she released all of her psychic power. The blue aura of power surrounded Allora in a protective barrier, keeping the poisonous gas at bay. But her body was damaged and she had used up more energy than she thought taking out the Bastiodon. She knew that she wasn’t going to be able to keep up the barrier for too much longer.
In a last ditch effort, Allora dashed towards the blocked tunnel. Using the last of her energy, she used her psychic abilities to push one of the rocks out of the way; creating a small hole just big enough for her body to squeeze through. Allora then jumped towards the opening, squeezing her thin frame through it. She let out a loud yelp of pain as she landed on her front paws on the other side of the rock wall. She took a few steps, stumbling, before collapsing on the ground. She had used all of her energy escaping from the gas and now laid limp. "Allora?" Paladin called out to her. "Allora?!" Paladin shouted again, hoping for a response. “Pal…Pala…din…..” Was all that Allora could managed to say before passing out due to exhaustion.
