Name: Ross D. Rejhen
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Nationality: Carn
Class: Ex-Priest/ Adventurer
Mahstion Type: Eation
Weapon Class: Halberd Axe
Appearance:
Ross’s natural body type had always been fairly skinny, but his recent years of strenuous activities has developed his physique to a leaner, well-proportioned one, causing him to become physically stronger. He is an adequately sized male standing at approximately 5’10” (152 cm), and weighing 170 pounds (77kg). He has semi-medium length brown hair which is messily displayed across his head, with no sign of rhythm or orderliness. Ross has dark green eyes. His slightly tanned skin, for the most part, is without blemishes or scars, except on his right hand, which hold a large burnt out piece of skin, where the floral shaped tattoo of Carn used to be present.
To cover up the markings of his hand, Ross wears a pair of black gloves. His style of clothing is a complete departure of the norm and instead is a bit audacious and daring. As such, many appear to think he is an outlaw of some sort upon first appearance, or at the very least trouble He wears a checkered black and white headband across his forehead, (which only further muddles his hair) and a pair of black goggles over them. He wears a dark-green, collared vest, and a black long-sleeved shirt underneath that. Upon his right wrist is a wristband which is black like his gloves. He wears a pair of dark-green, loose pants to accompany this outfit, and a pair of black, traveling boots for the comfort. A black sash is tied across his waist, and over all of his clothes is a slightly ragged brown trench coat. Overall, his attire might have once been considered simply bold and adventurous, but the constant traveling he has done in recent years has taken its toll on his attire, and wear and tear is shown in his garb. This often causes people to assume he is up to no good.
Personality: Even during his days in Carn, Ross had always been carefree and superficially light-hearted, but also quite stubborn and reckless. He is constantly seen with a smile on his face, and approaches many aspects of his life with the same carefree and cheery persona, believing that “worry and trepidation do nothing but wear you down.” It is to that end that he often tends not to worry about things, no matter the situation. He instead does whatever he wants, and let things play out afterwards, expecting the situation to resolve itself (which it seldom does). Whatever circumstance he comes across, he gets through it with a positive attitude, often using the occasional joke or words of encouragement to lighten the mood. He tries his best to never depart from this persona, no matter how dreadful or appalling certain situation may be. Ross is not the leader type, He never enjoys the spotlight on him, as he believes it adds pressure to him that he just doesn’t want, and doesn’t much care for. For that matter, he often avoids situations where large pressure is put on him.
It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Ross is adventurous, willing to try many new things. Throughout his travels, it was characteristic of him to initiate conversation with complete strangers out of the blue, or participate in events or go places others might find bizarre. He usually does these things without thinking about them beforehand, believing planning for such things takes away part of the fun in them. Ross is also extremely stubborn. When he sets his mind on something, whether going to a certain place or doing a certain action, he intends to follow through with it, not caring (or perhaps not considering) for the consequences of what he does. This also applies to his bluntness, which is often exhibited. He often speaks whatever is on his mind (although most of the time coming off rather positive), which on some occasions might be seen as insensitive. He also tends never to back down from anything, often leading to him being provoked into frequent fights. It was often that inflexible attitude that earned him disdain from his peers, and scorn from his instructors, and landed him in trouble on innumerable occurrences.
Ross is also remarkably reckless. Whether in battle or outside it, Ross tends to leave his mark almost everywhere he goes. His motto of doing first and thinking about it later has led to unintentional, yet countless accounts of broken belongings, damaged property (sometimes minor, but more often extensive), and ever so often injured people. To top it all off, Ross is frequently unaware of the damage he causes, but if he does realize it, he tries his best to correct his mistakes (although they usually never make up for the damage originally caused). In combat, Ross becomes even more reckless, often abandoning all strategy and tactic for the simple mission of taking down the opponent until they yield or are defeated (though he would never kill them). His weapon (and his mahstion style for that matter) is swung without any grace or elegance, but rather with brute force and intensity. He would usually charge an opponent without thinking of consequences and using an all-out offensive assault to bring them down. Because of this, he tends not to be a good team fighter. When weaponless his style of fighting usually entails using anything he can at his disposal to bring the person down with little account for its value or ownership, whether from a chair in a tavern to a priceless artifact in a museum. Again, do first, think about it later. Ross loves to fight, never one to back away from a fight, and often not giving up until either his opponent or himself is defeated. He would often protect those that he believes can’t protect themselves, especially children.
Although relatively young, Ross is quite intelligent for his age, mostly due to the schooling and instruction he received as a priest in Carn. Therefore, although he has long since departed from that life, traces of that often breaks into his natural speech currently as well, though he has done his best to try and conceal it.
History: Ross was born in the capital city of Nephistos, Carn. There, he was raised by a wealthy family with high standing. His parents provided for him a nurturing and secure atmosphere where he grew up surrounded by pleasure and luxury. His was a pampered life, but it also came with numerous expectations of him as he grew up. He was given the best schooling money could buy, and daily instruction in the attempt to make him a high class citizen of Carn. Ross understood it was what was expected of him and fulfilled his obligations to the best of his ability, but that didn’t stop him from secretly loathing it. He detested every minute of his schooling and instruction, every etiquette lesson, history lesson, and weapon class. It wasn’t as much that he hated learning about all of this as much as it was the fact that he felt he had no choice in the matter. He felt that his family was morphing him into exactly what he wanted to be, and he had to just stay silent and follow along. It was as if it wasn’t his life, but someone else’s, and he was merely along for the ride.
In attempt to get some control over his life, Ross hatched a plan. This was around the time he was ten years old, and the five day attack on Beta was launched by Carn. Ross, seeing such horrors people were capable of, sought to find some way to help his people overcome such atrocities. He figured through the path of Tylonstus, their god, it could be done, and Ross could do something worthwhile while still attempting to make the world a better place to be. After much imploring of his parents, he was allowed to finally attend a special institution for the Church, where one could become a priest. Ross’s parents didn’t like the idea at first, but his stubbornness eventually convinced him. They eventually didn’t mind as much because it was still a position of high standing, and therefore would bring his family name much respect. For Ross, it was a major stage in his development as he was finally able to decide one important part of his own life, even if it was still a bargain on his part, because he too didn’t want to be apart of it. Mostly, the academy he would attend would give him greater amount of time away from his parents, and therefore hopefully more freedom to do what he wanted to do on the side.
But as he would soon find out, the rigorous instruction he received in the Church was rather similar to the strict lessons he got back home. Ross found himself once again being bound to do and follow what others commanded him to do. However, on some late nights, he was able to sneak out of the campus grounds and explore the city. Many times, he would simply walk around and see the sites, but other times, he would simply go to the rooftops of the academy and look at the stars, feeling the wind across his face as he simply lay there. Needless to say, he was caught on a few occasions and severely reprimanded. His teachers scolded him for his daydreaming and inattentiveness on multiple occasions, and punished him for his late night escapades, yet he stubbornly continued to do so. The instructors detested and reprimanded his stubbornness and carelessness as well as his constant involvement in fights with the other students, but they also praised him for his brilliance, and although he had a few rough edges along the way, he had eventually finished his school and became a full-fledged priest of Carn.
Ross did everything he could as a priest to get out and go new places. Thankfully, the Church, not being confined simply to Carn, gave Ross multiple opportunities to travel to other countries as a representative of the Church. Truthfully, Ross traveled more for the sake of traveling than for the Church. Still, he was confined in the places he could visit, and often saw few sites as he went from Church to Church, or mission to mission. He did on occasion try to sneak around and see sights beyond that, but never quite as much as he’d like. Ross was slowly getting tired of the life he led. Sure, he was a respectable member of the Church, and a high standing citizen. But it wasn’t him. He had been told by others, whether his parents or teachers or those above him what he could and couldn’t do. All his life was one of obedience and servitude, and Ross was getting sick of it.
A day arrived when everything suddenly snapped together. In the year 799 Y.Z., Carn invaded areas of the Underneath in an attempt to get more wation for themselves. This event, as well as the events of his past, caused Ross to snap. As he saw it, the nation of Carn was doing to the Underneath what they had done to him his entire life: serve them and do as they were told while they took advantage of them. How could Ross serve a nation like that knowing he was doing precisely what he wouldn’t have ever wanted done to him? That night, Ross abandoned his post as a priest, and abandoned his god. He burned off the part of his hand which harbored the tattoo of Carn, and fled into the night, never wishing to return here again.
Ross spent the next year traveling the nations. He journeyed wherever he wanted, doing whatever he felt like whenever he felt like it. He made his every attempt not to be bound by any laws or rules or regulations. He was simply a traveler and adventurer out to see the world, and meet the people in it. It was a life without rules, and thus far, it was the most fun he had ever had. However, his reckless abandon often caused him to get into quite a bit of trouble along the way, some even going as far as to offer money for his capture.
One day upon his travels, he had suddenly been branded inexplicably with the roman numeral ‘VI’ upon his face. It was around this time that he had gotten into a rather heated argument with another individual, which inevitably led to a large bar fight. Ross eventually claimed victory of it, but it led to his capture and imprisonment by local authorities. But for an inexplicable reason, one he knew not why, Ross was suddenly taken from the holding cell of the local authorities and instead handed over to Carn soldiers, who transferred him to an unknown location, which is where he now resided, under Carn’s special supervision.
