THE STORY

Two months ago, a bright explosion occurred in the skies above Kanto. The cause was unknown. Over the coming weeks, things started getting strange around the region. Gym leaders suddenly behaved more arrogant and became as good as impossible to defeat. People from Silph & Co, the largest and most wealthy company in Kanto, were spotted in places where they didn't normally have any business being. A tension fell upon the region, but police and authorities seemed oblivious.

Then, just about one month ago, the nature itself started to become strange as well. Climates changed locally; some routes suddenly grew hot as deserts and in others it suddenly started snowing. Viridian Forest grew denser and more hostile than ever before and the Safari Zone had to be closed down because of restless pokémon. But still, the only ones who seemed to want to investigate all of this, was a group of scientists.

One of them, named Ambella Coal, was living on Cinnabar Island. When she was on a field trip on the countryside one day, the slumbering volcano suddenly sprung to life and had a minor eruption. As she was caught in flames, thinking this would be the end of her, the fire was blown away, clearing a path for her to escape by. She glimpsed a shape against the smoky sky, the shape of a bird...

Convinced that it was the legendary phoenix Moltres that had saved her, she started reading up on the legends of Kanto and found some things that could explain the strange climate changes. But not the reason that they had even started in the first place. She needed to investigate. Calling up her most trusted colleagues around Kanto, she formed a plan. They needed to be stationed in their own labs to research and evaluate data, but someone also needed to gather the data they needed to make sense of Kanto's predicament. They needed trainers.


Ambella chose to recruit potential trainers around Cinnabar. Teenagers who wouldn't attract too much attention whilst going on their mission - if anybody asked, they were just regular trainers traveling the region, trying to defeat the now all too powerful gym leaders. Indeed, Ambella Coal asked of them to train hard and confront the leaders in order to figure out what was wrong with them. But another goal was also to try and meet every kind of wild pokémon now living around Kanto, in order to map the change in fauna over this past month. Because anyone who ventured outdoors over the past month had noticed the new, foreign species crawling around.

The Cinnabar trainers who agree on helping the scientists will receive a pokédex, courtesy of professor Oak in Pallet Town, and the scientists will sponsor them with money for supplies, lodging and pokéballs. Together, they hope to uncover the shady secrets of Kanto and save whatever there is to be saved. And possibly even become great trainers along the road...

THE ROLEPLAY

You will be a teenager living on Cinnabar Island. You own one pokémon already and are approached by Ambella Coal, a person you know to be part of the wealthy noble family Coal who own the fabulous Cinnabar Mansion. But Ambella has always been the black sheep of the family; when the others focused on being nobles and making even more money, Ambella just wanted to study pokémon. For one reason or another, you accept her offer about the journey and mission.

Kanto will look mostly the same as usual but might have some new gym leaders, new pokémon found in the wild and some routes will look different in terms of weather and climate.

I will keep track of how many pokémon you have seen and captured. Regard it as a competition between the player characters, if you will! Another competition is of course to beat the gyms before the others.

You are all posting in the same timeline and thus you can interact at any time - as long as you are roughly on the same time of the day of course. Let's forget about weekdays. But you can of course choose to post alone if you wish to explore or do stuff on your own.

SOME RULES

- Rating for the RP is T, which means too descriptive violence or too physical romance is not allowed, but some relatively foul language is ok.

- You can make up your own minor NPCs whenever you want. Just make sure that your posts still revolve around your main character. When I make up NPCs, you may only play as them if I state that it's ok.

- If you're about to proceed into a new area, wait for me to describe it first.

- If you want to encounter a wild pokémon, write about somehow encountering one without saying what pokémon it is - hearing a noise, see some grass move or make the wild pokémon spot you from behind or something like that - and then end your post. I will decide what wild pokémon pops up, using pretty much randomness! Among the pokémon I have planned for a certain route, of course.

- If you decide to capture a pokémon, you don't have to wait for me to approve it. You may capture a pokémon in whichever way you want - just make it believable enough or I'll let you know that you need to shape up.

- Levels will not exist. Instead, I will let you know when your pokémon is able to learn a new move or evolve. I won't completely follow the canon Leveling Up movesets for pokémon; what moves can be learned will be affected by what your pokémon experience, where it is and who it faces. Also, it you want it to learn a certain move, you can ask me for it.

- You are allowed to carry as many pokémon on hand as you wish to. If you don't want to carry a certain pokémon, you can store it in a PC at a pokémon center. When entering official battles though, like gym battles, you are only allowed to keep 6 pokémon on hand.

- If you are accepted, make sure to read through all the other accepted SUs as well! I want everyone to get a feel for each other's characters.

BODY: What do I look like? Well, I don’t like to toot my own horn, but I’m pretty freaking handsomely awesome. Nah, I’m just joking with you. In reality though, I’m what most people would call chubby. I’m not really fat or overweight; I’m just a little bit thicker than most people my age. Some like to say that I’m thick in more than one way, but that’s beside the point. My upper body keeps sort of a stabilized condition if you know what I mean. I mean like, no muffin-top or something, no part of my body is really bigger than the other. I’m basically like a thin person, just wider. Geez, I must sound like such pathetic guy when I say that I’m like everyone else, just a little bigger, as if to assure myself that there’s nothing wrong with me. But I just really suck a describing stuff, so I use what ways I can to make you get the general idea of me.

I’m not really muscular though, sure I’m somewhat strong, but that has more to do with my size than my exercising-schedule, which isn’t non-existent, mind you. I do like to run and stuff, if you are a Pokémon-trainer, you can’t be an uncoordinated slob you know. My arms are wide as are my legs, but that’s pretty freaking obvious isn’t it? My face is somewhat round and pudgy; however it is still square-like. Holy Arceus I suck at this, my face is like a square that is rounded where the cheeks are and then where the chin is. Wait, let me just draw you a picture of my face and strap it onto this form.



As you can see, my eyes are pretty squinty. Why they are like that, I have no clue at all. I probably got them from my father, but I hardly remember that dude. The ways of the genes sure are mysterious, don’t you think? People often say that my ears are too small for my head, and I can agree with them on that. Now that I think about it, my ears are kinda small, aren’t they? Holy smokes those are small! I think that I could like stare at them for hours… Oh wait; I’m not supposed to do that. Moreover, my nose is pretty big I guess, almost like a potato maybe. Yeah, I’m not really bothered by that… Now here’s something pretty cool about me, my hair color. It’s like… flare-red and stuff, it’s pretty awesome if you ask me. Also I have this weird thing with my hair that makes it look like I have a bunch of oil in it even though I don’t. I also have little facial hair, I guess that the fat has absorbed it all haha.

CLOTHING: What am I wearing? Well at the moment, I’m wearing a pair of briefs while filling out this form at home. What? Can’t I fill out a form in whatever clothing I please? I’m sixteen for crying out loud! Besides, you’re not even my parents and- Yeah… I’ll stop ranting now. My usual clothing involves a red T-shirt with a yellow, zig-zaggy stripe going over the stomach á la Kecleon. On the lower part of my body I usually wear a pair of beige, knee-high shorts, simple and clean. People usually say that I have waaaayy too many pockets on those things. I do not see their point. As for shoes I have these pretty unfashionable brown ones that have probably passed their prime for quite some time now. But, they are a prized possession of my old man’s, so I really can’t throw ‘em away.

PERSONALITY: Well, to be honest this part was pretty tricky since I sometimes want to make myself look better in front of other people by toning down, or downright lying about certain traits that I possess. Oh, has that gotten me in several pickles before… So, to keep this view completely unbiased, I asked one of my friends, Dave to write some lines about my personality. And also, if you’re expecting a rap, forget it. I forced him to not do one this time.

Okay, that’s it! Disregard that part of the form please. I figured that something like this would happen, so I had asked another friend to write what that d-bag Dave was supposed to write.

Okay, Irwin asked me to do this, so I’m going to be a good citizen and help him out! Erhm. First of all, Irwin is a really sweet and caring person. If you are his friend, you can expect him to stick up for you in almost any situation! Well, except if you need help with eating waffles or catching a bunch of Ekans and/or Arbok. More on that later though. Irwin is also a great listener, if you need to talk about something with someone, then Irwin’s your guy! He likes to listen to people and their stories, whether they’re made up or not. He says that it makes him happy for some reason.

Usually, Irwin has a pretty good personality. He’s mostly in a good mood (the fat ones are always jolly you know) and does almost everything with a smile on his lips. He’s also that jokey type of guy who never really crosses the line and becomes annoying. Well, most of the time at least. Even though he is a guy who likes to joke around a lot, Irwin can be pretty serious when he wants to; I take it that he’s at least gotten through half of this form without writing something that he regards as “totes hilarious brah” or some other stupid hipster/d-bag expression.

But, with good sides also comes bad sides as you’d imagine. As you may have noticed already, Irwin has a tendency to rant about stuff and he can become very offended and uptight if you happen to insult something that he enjoys. If you say that Dubstep sucks, then prepare for some wild, heavy rage. Irwin is also really, really clumsy. Like really clumsy, one time he almost killed an old man by hitting the dude with a PokéBall that was aimed at a Pidgey. He can spontaneously drop anything that he’s holding, doesn’t matter what it is. But that clumsiness is mostly canceled out by his extreme tendency to be lucky, you know that old man who almost got killed by the PokéBall? Well the ball bounced off him and hit the Pidgey square in the chest, catching it immediately. However the Pidgey was later released by accident…

Irwin also has a tendency for sarcasm, I wasn’t quite sure if this was a good or bad thing, but since I mostly get the short end of the stick when he uses it I decided to put it here.

INTERESTS: I enjoy baking stereotypically enough, I don’t know why really… It’s just like… It feels so satisfying when I mix a bunch of stuff together and then it becomes a delicious cake or something like that. I like to listen to music, mostly Dubstep. That music-genre is stupid cool. And no, it is NOT electro; I hate how many times I have to state that! What do I like more? Well, I have a certain love for playing cards. I don’t know why though… Mom always told me that my old man was a real gambler, so I guess that I’ve got some of that in me. I’m hesitant to write down ‘girls’ on this list as I take it that most teenage guys like myself like girls. So I thought that it was a bit obvious…

DISLIKES: Oh, don’t even get me started! If there’s one thing that I absolutely, ABSOLUTELY hate, it’s waffles. Yes, you read right, waffles. I will not stress why though, too many painful memories. Another thing I don’t like is the Ekans-family. They think that they’re so awesome with their purple scales and their yellow eyes and-

Please disregard the rest of the part including Ekans and its evolution; especially disregard the many curses I wrote down as well.

Onto what other things I dislike! I really dislike an over-usage of emoticons when writing stuff online or while texting. Here’s an example:

Writing that nearly made me want to kill myself…

HISTORY: Well, I’m not sure if there’s much to tell you here, but I’ll try my best.

It all started a pretty long time ago in the region of Hoenn. There was a man who liked to hang out in the Game Corner of Mauville City, and then there was this woman who liked botany. She was from Fortree City, but decided to visit Mauville in order to find some cool plants. But, something happened there, something she didn’t expect. She fell in love. With whom you may ask? Well, with a local deadbeat who had an issue with gambling. So, the two of them started to date. It was a good time, a peaceful time when the air was filled with love. He loved her and she loved him. They were the perfect couple, they completed each other. Like two parts of a once-broken medallion. But then, one day something that would bring great joy as well as great sorrow happened.

The woman became pregnant.

What would they do now? The man had almost no money; he had gambled it all away. The woman had some, but it wasn’t much and certainly not enough to support a family. What were they going to do? For some time they were in great despair and the man eventually did what he could to turn it all around. He gambled. He gambled with the last amount of money that he had. And for the first time in his career, he actually won. It was no extremely fat profit, but it was big enough to afford them a small house in another region. Why travel to another region? Well, as the man had put it back then, “This will be the perfect opportunity to start things anew”. The woman had agreed with him, and thus they set sail for Cinnabar Island.

All was well and good; the man got a job at the Cinnabar Gym and started earning enough to give the couple a stable economy, and eventually a wedding. Shortly after they were wed, the woman gave birth to the man’s child. It was a boy and he was christened Irwin. However, the happiness didn’t last long after that. In a volcanic eruption, the man was killed. Just like that, in a few seconds. Instead of destroying the woman on the inside, this even taught her that she was only mortal. And thus, she decided to keep going and to make little Irwin grow up to become a man of good.

Little Irwin’s upbringing wasn’t different from any of the other kids’. He was taught what was right and what was wrong. He was taught to respect other people, he was taught to be kind and loving, and he was taught to joke and tell humorous stories, just like his father. Along the way, he was called many names such as “Fatso”, “Chubster” or “Lardmeister”. But the boy never let these words get to him. Instead he continued to be happy, to be happy and kind.

One day however, Irwin received a present from his mother on his thirteenth birthday. To his amazement, it had been a Treecko. At the time, he thought nothing of that it might symbolize something. As he grew older however, he mused that this was to be some kind of part of his Hoennian heritage. Or just for the fact that his mother loved botany. He dubbed the Treecko Gex, a name it was moderately fond of. The two didn’t have the greatest of starts really. Gex never listened to a word Irwin said at first, he just did whatever he damn well pleased.

As some years went by, Gex started to warm up to Irwin. However their relationship was far from perfect. Either it was because of the Treecko’s personality, or it was because of the strange climate-changes happening in Kanto? Sometimes, Irwin believes it to be both of those things.

And that’s pretty much everything up until now.

Recent? Well, guess good ol’ Arcanum won’t be doing much good here, how about from Hoenn RéBURST?

Sounds cool.

Okay then.

The sun was shining brightly as Silas looked up from the small spot he had taken under a tree. Master S had dropped him off somewhere in a region called ‘Hoenn’, he knew that much. But where in the name of Arceus was he? Well, aside from the obvious answer ‘In a forest’. Silas looked around while his light-grey hair gently flowed through the air as the young man moved his head. He caught a glimpse of some sort of town and deduced that he was in the middle of some settlement or something. Standing up from his spot under the tree – the lighting very much reminded him of his first meeting with Master S – Silas started to move through the forest until he came out of it. It was clear that this settlement wasn’t big, if anything it was wide-spread. Long distances of green grass with a few lightly-colored houses dotted out among them in some places. However, there was one house in particular that caught the young man’s interest a bit. It was big, white, and a few Pokémon could actually be seen running around it. Most of them were of species that Silas didn’t recognize and he silently thanked Master S for giving him the opportunity to meet with so many new Pokémon.

He calmly walked up to the house, cautious to not scare the little critters playing tag around the corners of the building. Silas observed them with great interest before entering the house, thinking that there must be even more amazing Pokémon on the inside. However, he would be greatly disappointed to find that no Pokémon seemed to be in there. The only thing he could find was a bunch of people in lab-coats and glasses running around with heaps of paper in their arms. Just as Silas was about to leave, one of these people came up to him with an uneasy expression on his face.

“Hello!” He said.

“Um… Hello?” Silas responded quizzically.

“Do you need help with anything?” The man continued.

“No… Don’t think so…” The young man responded with unease. What was this guy getting an exactly? “Why do you wonder?”

“Well you looked pretty helpless, so I thought that maybe you’d come here to receive your Pokémon?”

“Pokémon…?” Silas’ lips crooked into a sly smile as he heard that word. So these guys gave out Pokémon to people for free? Time to put this to the test then! “Oh yes indeed! I am here for a Pokémon!”

“Really? That’s terrific!” The man in glasses said enthusiastically. Silas just smiled, this seemed to be going perfect! “When Professor Birch left for a while, he put me in charge of this place! As you can see, it’s going terrific!” The man happily pointed behind his back at a bunch of other people with glasses staring at huge fire that had begun to develop on the floor. Silas just looked at the man, he didn’t notice any form of sarcasm in his voice, so he guessed that this man’s definition of ‘terrific’ was this. Man, he did not want to see a situation this man would label as ‘bad’. “I’ll be back with your stuff in a jiffy!” He continued and ran off, quietly singing some kind of song.

After a short amount of time, the man returned with a bunch of items that Silas didn’t quite recognize.
“This!” The man pointed at the first object, it was red and looked like a bigger version of a mobile phone flipped sideways, “Is a PokéDex. It’s a high-tech encyclopedia, containing the information on various Pokémon. It’s also really valuable, so be careful not to flaunt it around too much.”

Silas stared in amazement at the object. Something that could show the information about any Pokémon in the blink of an eye? This had to be one of the most amazing things that Silas had ever seen! He almost drooled as the guy with the glasses handed him the device. The young man quickly but carefully put it in the pocket of the blue-and-black jeans that he was wearing today.

“This,” the man pointed at a few more but smaller objects, some of them being PokéBalls. Silas made a slightly displeased face at the catching devices, however he said nothing. All of these objects were then loaded into a black backpack which was given to Silas.

“I assume that you don’t have a backpack? Well, here’s one on the house! Err, I mean lab…” He said. Silas just raised his eyebrow, where was that free Pokémon now? He had to get going! He wouldn’t want Master S to wait, now would he? “Aaaaaannd here’s your Pokémon!” The man said and handed Silas a PokéBall. The young man shone up as he looked at the sphere, wondering what could be inside it.

“Thank you.” He said calmly and started to walk towards the door.

“Wait!” The man said. Silas turned around for a second. “If you meet Professor Birch, don’t tell him about the fire in his lab, okay?”

“Sure.”

As soon as he was outside of the lab, Silas pressed the button situated on the PokéBall’s front. He saw with big eyes as the sphere opened to release his new friend in the form of… Nothing. Nothing came out. The damn ball was empty! Not even a speck of dust came out of it! For a moment, Silas thought about going back inside to complain to the man about this. However, after seeing the man’s… display of abilities, he wasn’t too sure how much of a help that would be. Instead he decided to catch his own Pokémon, his own friend that he could fight alongside so that he’d be able to meet Master S!

He quietly walked towards a small road that he spotted from the laboratory, thinking that it most likely led out of this boring little town. And soon enough, Silas found himself on a route that was bustling and full of life. He surveyed the area he was in, spotting many Pokémon he didn’t recognize. He pointed the PokéDex at one of them, a small red-and-white caterpillar that was busy chewing on a leaf.

Wurmple, the Worm Pokémon. Usually targeted by Bird Pokémon, Wurmple defends itself by oozing out poison from the spikes on its head and rear and stabbing them towards the attacker. Their favorite food involves leaves and sap which they reach by peeling the bark off of trees.

Wow, that sure seemed like an amazing Pokémon, maybe Silas should try to befriend it? After a while of thinking, the grey-haired young man decided that he would befriend this Pokémon. So he quickly walked up to it in a – according to himself – non-threatening manner and raised his hand at the Bug-type.

“Hi there!” He said in a friendly tone. The Wurmple stopped munching on its leaf and looked up at the human standing before him. The caterpillar’s eyes were intensely fixed on Silas, so intensely that they seemed to be able to burn human flesh. But Silas didn’t mind, he looked at the Wurmple with a friendly smile on his lips, waiting for it to respond. And respond it did. But not in the fashion that Silas had preferred. The Wurmple’s eyes assumed an angry glare and a thick, purple liquid started to ooze out of the spikes on its head and rear and it started to edge closer to the opposing human. Silas quickly became uncomfortable and started to move away from the bug, there was no point in getting stung for trying to be friendly.

He walked away from that particular spot, wiping the sweat off his forehead. He was relieved that he had gotten away without getting attacked by the Wurmple. Maybe he should look for another friend? Suddenly, a flock of bird-like Pokémon flew over him. Silas recognized them as Pidgey, a Pokémon who was quite common everywhere it seemed. Maybe they would like to be friends with him?

“Hello there!” He shouted at the Pidgeys, yet again in a friendly manner. The answer Silas got was pretty short; a splat of fecal-matter from the bird quickly hit his face. Luckily it wasn’t much, but it was still pretty disgusting. Wiping off some of the vile substance with a napkin he found in his new backpack, Silas sighed. This search for a new partner didn’t seem to go well; maybe he wasn’t connecting with the Pokémon enough? As he started thinking about how to improve his “friendship-recruiting”, Silas heard a loud call for help. The young man turned around (his hair glittering fabulously in the sun as he did so) and started following where the voice seemed to be coming from.

When Silas reached to where the voice was he saw a man with brown hair and knee-high shorts as well as a lab-coat being pressed up against a tree. Standing before him was a black dog-like creature with red-and-yellow eyes, glaring at the man. Silas discretely pointed his PokéDex at the creature to identify it.

Poochyena, the Bite Pokémon. Poochyena has a very keen sense of smell which they use to track down prey. They are known for being very tenacious, often chasing their prey until the prey gets exhausted. They are also known for biting everything that moves.

“Hence being the Bite Pokémon.” Silas thought.

The PokéDex had read the information very clearly as well as very loudly, which caught the attention of both the man and the Poochyena. The man probably known as Birch seems relieved, while the Poochyena just seemed to have become even more agitated.

“Thank goodness someone’s here to help!” The man with the lab-coat said. “I was going to give this Poochyena away to a trainer that wanted it, but so far, no one’s has even taken it into consideration. So it eventually became sad and escaped, but as I tried to convince it to come back, it attacked…”

Silas stood quietly for a moment. Poor Poochyena, no one had even considered it as a partner or a friend? It must’ve really wanted to go on a journey, but since no one picked it… Man, that’s gotta’ tear you up on the inside.

“Well then, it’s settled!” Silas exclaimed and dropped his backpack as well as folding up the arms of his shirt. “I’ll make sure that you get to travel the region Poochyena! I’ll be the one to have you as my friend! I’ll be the one to share many exciting adventure with you!” He exclaimed once again while standing in what most people would call a ‘fighting-stance’. The Poochyena just howled – seemingly unaffected by Silas’ words – and leapt towards the boy. Silas just smiled and readied his fist, “If that’s how you want it…” He said quietly.

“THEN COME AT ME!” Silas’ shout was quickly followed by a punch to the Pokémon’s face. The Poochyena whimpered a bit as the human’s fist connected with it. The Dark-type flew back a few feet from the impact, but quickly got up again. For a moment it seemed to catch its breath before letting out an agitated howl. It even seemed like the little dog-like creature became a bit more buff from that. It howled again and threw itself toward Silas. The young man just smiled and started running towards the Pokémon. As he came close enough, Silas tried to elbow the Poochyena right in the face. However, the Dark-type was a bit faster and thus managed to avoid the human’s elbow. Instead, it bit down on the male’s exposed arm. Silas cringed, the fangs of the little dog didn’t bury deep into is flesh, but they still managed to make him bleed as well as hurt like hell. He quickly grabbed ahold of the Dark-type’s head and started to tickle its nose. The Poochyena tried to not get overcome by the urge to sneeze, but eventually he had to let go. Silas smiled again as he tackled the dog hard so that it flew another few feet away from him.

Now the Poochyena was angry, really angry. It slowly opened its mouth as something orange seemed to form in it. Silas watched with astonishment as the Dark-type shot out a small pillar of fire towards him. Barely jumping out of the way, Silas started to slowly encircle the Poochyena. He checked the PokéDex to see what that move was.

Incernate, a Fire-type move. If the target of this move holds a berry, the berry will immediately get burned to a crisp. Poochyena is not compatible with this move in any way.

“What? But how can it then use it?” Silas asked.

“I’m not actually sure myself,” the man said, “I think he was bred in some special sort of way.”

“Interesting…” Silas smiled.

The Poochyena gave off a proud look before attacking again. Its yellow eyes gleamed as it came closer and closer to Silas. Silas himself just smiled on and started running towards the Poochyena again. They both jumped towards each other at the same time, resulting in some sort of awkward hug that the Dark-type had not expected.

“Please… I know that you’ve had it rough. But why not come with me instead? Together, we shall embark on journey far beyond any of our wildest dreams! So please, just come with me as your partner Poochyena…” Silas said softly. He took out the PokéBall where the Dark-type should’ve been and gently tapped the little dog with it.

NAME: Fonse Loneheart

GENDER: Male

BODY: He stands at a height of little more than 5 feet and 3 inches, with his weight being of almost a hundred and fifty pounds. He's what you may call... chubby. Despite looking like this, he's a rather strong person that can carry several things at once, and being hit several times before feeling any pain. His bulky psyche makes him stand out in every place he is, especially in awkward situations...

His hair short and of a deep black, yet it looks somehow brown-ish under the bright sunlight, not to mention shiny. If he ever forgets to cut his hair once in a month, it grows to be huge, messy hair. His face is round, yet not as much as it should be because of the excessive amounts of water he drinks every day, which vary from 2 to 3 litres and a half.

All around his face is a beard that has just grown, despite the short amount it has been in his face, it's already covering most of his face, making him look older than he actually is, even when it can't be fully appreciated unless you stand right in front of him. This beard is his greatest pride, and he will do anything to avoid shaving his capillary treasure.

The previous is not the only part of his body covered in hair. In fact, which part of his body is not covered would be a great question. His arms and legs, even his chest have been invaded by hair. Not that he cares, he actually thinks it looks great.

CLOTHING: Fonse wears a jacket over whatever else he's wearing, as well as a scarf, ALL THE TIME, be it summer, be it winter. If you ever ask him if he's ever going to take those off, you won't like the cold 'no' he will give to you. The jacket he wears is generally black, with it being blue on some very special occasions, with the scarf always being one with black and white stripes. His normal outfit consists of a white, sleeveless shirt under the jacket, complemented with a pair of denim jeans and white sneakers as his footwear. He sometimes wears a bell with slots for ten Pokeballs, despite having only one Pokeball for his long time partner, Goony Goo. He also likes to wear a pair of black glasses over his normal pair, in order to look stylish, without being blind, at least that's what he likes to think. His normal glasses are a little thick, but without being those that a hipster would wear.

PERSONALITY: Somewhat arrogant, unwilling to socialize with strangers. Yet he's quite friendly with those people he considers worth of being with him. He like to think he's just to good to meet any kind of people, when in fact he's not very good when it comes to express himself, or talking, for that matter.

He's a bit of a loner, as he doesn't like having company. Yet he doesn't like being alone, either. He's somewhat of a bipolar, as his mood suddenly changes between happiness and madness. He's not very close to his parents, who are currently divorced, nor to anyone else, for that matter.

Yet it's all different with Pokemon around, he is more open when talking to Gooney Goo, as he knows that most of Pokemon don't judge people by their looks. He has from little to no friends, most of them being acquaintances with whom he usually talks for a while every now and then...

INTERESTS: He's an easy learner in most subjects, except for math, those are his worst enemy, no matter how hard he tries, he can barely do a simple a+b equation. He also seems to be a quick learner in everything technology-related, be it a simple computer program, or some sort of coding. He like to take a stroll with Gooney Goo around the island, being careful of not going to close to the volcano, as he is afraid of fire, of any kind, even if it's just a burn. This fear has apparently no explanation, as there was nothing involving fire in his childhood, it's just as illogic as his fear of heights. He loves most of food, especially if it's spicy. He likes a lot of music, as he describes his taste in as 'exotic', due to the fact that he likes at least one song from each gender you can imagine.

His like in Pokemon (or those he knows about) is just as exotic, he prefers the weaker and the less appealing in appearance over every other kind.

DISLIKES: He despises people that pretend to be smart. If he ever spots them, he'll immediately correct them with his own, true intelligence, avoiding sounding like a snooty kid as much as possible. He also hates when someone bullies a person, standing for the victim whenever he spots it, this hasn't done any good for him, however, as he usually ends being the one bullied.

HISTORY: He grew up in Cinnabar Island, son of what seemed to be a very lovely couple, not to forget wealthy, yet there was more than meets the eye. His father was always mad at Fonse for no reason at all, and no matter what he did, his father was never even a little bit proud of him. His mother, in the other hand, was very caring of him, much to his father's despise, who was always yelling at them. His mother and father frequently fought for no reason at all, but Fonse later found out that his father had invested all of their money in a small company in the island that soon went broke, leaving them with no money, and that those discussion were about his mother trying to kick his father out. After the divorce, his father sailed in a small boat, never to be seen again by any of the two.

At first, Fonse was sad, but they two of them quickly began doing better without his father, his mother got two jobs, one at the local lab as a researcher, and the other as clerk in the PokeMart of the island. Despite spending such a few time with him, they were quite happy in the island.

One day, Fonse's mother went to do some field research near Pallet Town, where she caught a Zigzagoon for Fonse, as it was his tenth birthday. He gladly accepted the Pokemon that was soon to become his very best friend.

OTHER: Despite being young, his voice is as deep as that of an adult, which is another thing that makes people believe he's older than fifteen.

CHAPTER I - PART II
CURRENT LOCATION: GNEISS TOWN

"I suddenly feel like criticizing the narrative style, of which I'm obviously unaware... What the heck did I just said?" You say, ending confused.

You suddenly remember that your story is not exactly the one with most sense, thus meaning you can do as you wish without worrying too much about cross-universe references. You're obviously unaware of this, and decide to sing another song.

"My milkshake brings all the boys around, and they're like, its better than yours!" You sing with a very crappy rhythm. Once again you have no idea of how you know that song, not that you mind, though, it's pretty catchy!

"Slugma!" A voice exclaims, startling you. Upon turning around, you realize the little splatter had exit the Pokeball on its own. You suddenly begin thinking if this Pokemon is as derpy as it looks, and you realize the obvious answer upon carefully looking at it:

You begin asking yourself what you did to receive a Pokemon like that... Maybe it was because of that time you pushed the school's janitor down the stairs... But that was only fifty percent intentional! Or so you like to think...

"Okay, let's set this straight," you tell Slugma, noticing the grass below it is slowly being incinerated, "You like me, I don't like you! You'll be Conchita from now on, Concho if you're a male, and not a single word about it!"

"Slugma!"

"How do I know if you're a male or a female, anyways? The only way I can think of is disgusting for me to try..."

You take your P★DA from your left pocket, and point it at Slugma.

"Tell me if it's a male or not, and I'll forget you owe me a cake!" You yell at the mischievous device.

"Welcome to the Aperture Science Gender Detailing Device. The Pocket Monster's gender is being processed, please wait a second..."

As a very catchy elevator-like tune plays, you beging whistling as you wait for your P★DA to tell you Slugma's gender.

"Request finished." The gadget says with its creepy robot voice, "The subject's gender is... Female"

"Guess you'll be Conchita after all..." You whisper.

You turn around, and you stare at the splatter... So derpy, why couldn't you just have a Pikachu like all the other cool guys? Was it too much to ask? You decide to forget those thoughts, as they'll take you nowhere...

"Let's go for a not so retarded Pokemon, shall we?"

"Slugma!"

And then, you decided to walk as if you were some sort of pimp, with very prolonged steps, as you wink at those girls who walk around. Unbeknownst to you, all they are thinking is these dumb kids in the best of cases.

After a while, you spot a small bird that looks quite gentle, as you open your mouth in excitement, you quickly throw a Pokeball at it. Yet the bird quickly breaks from the capsule, rendering a perfectly good Pokeball useless.

"Wait, was I supposed to weaken it first?" You say, as you were sure that catching a Pidgey required from little to no effort at all, "If that's the case... Slugma! Use..." you pause for a while, "What exactly can you do?" You ask as you stare at the blobby red being.

"The subject knows three techniques," the Jet Black gadget says, "Ember, Rock Throw and Electro Web. It is highly recommended to use the second, as the damage will be duper effective on the stray Monster."

"Err... Thanks, I guess. Use Rock Throw!" You yell as you point your finger at the bird.

Slugma's eyes glow as a small bunch of rocks arise from the ground, and in a matter of seconds, Pidgey is being demaged by the rain if mini-asteroid-like rocks.

"Gey!" The bird exclaims with pain, waging its wing all around in a seemingly pathetic attempt to quell its pain.

"This is going to be so easy!" You exclaim with excitement.

But it seems like you're wrong. As the wing waddle generates a small gust of wing, big enough to take Slugma away, making it spin all round while it is mid air. All the blob can do is make noises as if it was yelling 'I wanna get off!' as you stare, silently dying of laughter.

After the Slugma's wild air ride, something quite peculiar occurs. The plaster is now sitting... over the Pidgey. The Slugma is sighing in relief as the bird struggles to be set free, with no results, except for the increasing burns in its body.

Slugma walks, or rather, crawls away as the bird is slowly released from the infernal being. Pidgey begins hoping everywhere as it yells in pain while it burns.

"Well, if that's not weakening a Pokemon, I don't know what it is..." You say as you take a Pokeball from your bag.

"The previous is denominated 'Weakening a Pokemon'" The P★DA exclaims.

"Shut up, GLaDOS!" You say as you throw a Pokeball at the Pokemon, quickly sealing it inside of the capsule, as you wait for it to rock. Will it work? Maybe, maybe not... Only time will tell... Right now, all you can do is stare at the rocking Pokeball...

He began training it immediatley and made his way through the gyms. He excelled at all of them...until he got to Cinnabar. Currently he is there now trying to find out a way to beat Blaine.

(give me a recent RP post of yours, to give me an idea of how you are going to write in the RP) This was my first post in Vato's Time&Space. I know it was long ago, but it was a quality post.

Malik dashed out of the dark, ominous forest that was the Ilex Forest. Malik had been wondering around aimlessly for days, hoping to find someone, or a way out. Thank God I'm out of those damned woods, he thought to himself. He looked around and found himself staring at a field of extremely over grown grass.

He hadn't had anything to eat or drink since before the...incident...that took his entire family and all of Azalea Town. He hadn't had any sleep since then either. Every time he tried, the images would fill his head. He was exhausted, and couldn't think clear enough to imagine what might be in the grass, and blindly stumbled in.

He looked around while he was wading through the grass that came up to his neck, and saw ripples in the grass. At first, that jarred his heart, knowing it was probably a pokemon. Maybe even...a bug pokemon. He shuddered and began to run quickly. After a few minutes of sheer sprinting, he spun around to find the ripples following him. Oh no! It's bug pokemon, and they're hungry! Malik panicked, and whirled around to run straight into a sickly man in a lab coat, who fell right over.

"Sir, I'm so sorry." he said quickly and nervously. The man stood up to his full height, and in all honesty, was a quite a bit shorter than Malik. "Wait, I know you!" he exclaimed. "Your Proffesor Elm, the pokemon researcher!" he shouted, forgetting the menacing ripples behind. "What are you doing out here?" he said with a puzzled look on his face.

The reknowned professor sighed. "It's fine young man. I see you've heard of me." he chuckled lightly. "It's glad to see some people haven't forgotten who I am." he sighed. "I'm looking for promising trainers who survived. That's how you know they're clever." he said with a mournful face. "Sadly most of the good old trainers I knew are gone."

Haru frowned with a guilty look on his face. "I didn't make it because of my wits. I made it because my parents died for me." images of the village's final stand filled his head, and his body was wracked with a sob.

The proffesor noticed the young man's sadness. "It doesn't matter. You survived. That does matter." he put emphasis on the word does to make sure he got the point. "Have you ever worked with pokemon before?" he asked in an inquistive manner.

Malik nodded. "Yeah. I worked with the Azalea Town charcoal maker and he let me use a Farfetch'd." he sighed remembering his friend, Beater.

Elm nodded and rubbed his chin. "I think I have something for you." he reached into his lab coat and pulled out an envelope. "Take this, and head towards CherryGrove City,that away." he pointed to the south. Malik accepted it, and stuck it in his pocket. "Don't lose it, and take these as well." he pulled a handful of...pokeballs from his lab coat and handed them to Malik. There were fifteen in total. "These are all empty. Use them to catch wild pokemon." Malik took them from his hands and put them in his grey backpack that he took everywhere. "Take this one as well." he handed him one single pokeball. "It contains your first pokemon, a Totodile." he handed him an enlarged pokeball. "Go ahead and toss it."

Malik was overwhelmed by the gifts. He held the large pokeball. "There's an actual pokemon in here?" he asked in total awe. The proffesor nodded.

He threw the pokeball, and a blue alligator type creature popped out. "Toto totodile!" it let out a hoarse cry, and Malik jumped. "No way!" he exclaimed. It was his very own pokemon! "What moves does it no?" he asked with his voice full of excitement.

Proffesor Elm seemed pleased with the boy's enthusiasm. "It only knows two moves, chip away and water gun." he said proudly.

Malik was overjoyed, but noticed the ripples finally appear. Four angry looking Weedles appeared, and Malik froze. "Bu-bug pokemon!" he shouted in fear. "Totodile, use water gun!" the Totodile spurt a burst of water at the four creatures, knocking them far away.

Proffesor Elm gasped in shock at the pair's quick bond. "Totodile never took to anybody's orders like that!" he exclaimed. "Would you like to give it a nickname?" he asked excitedly.

Malik thought about it for a minute, and snapped his fingers. "Got it, I'll call you Fin!" he said, proud of his choice of name.

Proffesor Elm gasped, "I almost forgot! Take this." he handed the young man a strange device. "It's a pokedex. It automatically records data of pokemon that you meet." he handed it to Malik, who graciously excepted it.

"Thank you proffesor. I won't forget this." he said with a lift in his voice.

"One more thing, take these. Your stomach has been grumbling the entire time." he handed the famished youth a sack of apples and multiple bottles of water. Malik blushed, and accepted those gifts as well. "Now I must be off. Be careful...Malik is it?" he winked with a knowing look in his eye, and walked off.

Malik gulped. He had met a legendary pokemon researcher, and was given a pokemon! He even defeated other pokemon, bug pokemon! He looked at Fin, who had a carefree grin. "We're going to be best friends." he grinned as the Totodile nodded swiftly in agreement. "Now let's go." the pair began to walk through the grass towards CherryGrove City, unafraid of anything with each other.

I think when I see a SU that I really like, I'll accept it :3
If I don't enjoy the way someone writes, I might ask them to change their RP sample a bit and to post in another way than they usually do in the RP, so that the whole thing - everyone's posts together - will be more pleasant to read. We learn and evolve with every RP we enter, don't we?

I like how this RP seems to be set up, but is it just exploring and finding new Pokemon and beating gyms? I know there's more to it, but will that take up a majority or a large amount of RPing?

Since it's basically a travel-capture-battle RP, I'd guess a majority of the RPing will be about that. But now you've got a good reason for journeying, so after the first or second gym, things will hopefully get more plot-oriented quickly. My aim is that you will never feel clueless about where you're going and why you're really doing it, because you're on a mission after all. And you'll hopefully never feel forced to come up with your own stories and events, unless you feel creative and want to wander off on your own adventure in some area.

Ambella Coal will stay in touch with the players and direct them to where she thinks they should travel next to look for pokémon or investigate the shady business of the gym leaders and Silph & Co. I think I will outline an area in one post and add the general "mission" or objectives that Ambella asks the trainers to do in that area. But on top of that, I might do kind of what I tried to do in Checkmate and Game of Chance; provide each player with enough NPCs and clues to give them their own unique gaming experience. It might become tiring for me xD But so much more fun than just writing one "chapter post" up and make the players go about on their own. Well, they wouldn't be alone since you've all got each other. But still.

Am I making any sense? xD And do you think it sounds good / bad?

NAME: Deandra Maycomb
GENDER: Female
AGE: 14

appearance

BODY: Deandra is about 5'5", maybe an inch shorter. Her skin is pale, more from genetics than not going outside, and her hair is dyed black and purple. Her hair is on the shorter side, but long enough for a pony-tail, which she wears occasionally. Her bangs are the only parts with purple on it. For the moment it'll stay like that, but Deandra likes to experiment with colors, so at any point that purple could become green, or blue, or anything really. She has several piercings, one in her nose, two on her left ear, and one on her lower lip. She's thinking about getting more, but hasn't actually decided yet. Her nails are painted purple, the indexes metallic purple, and she wears one ring on the middle finger of her left hand. She hardly ever wears makeup, but if she ever decides to it will probably be an eye shadow and eye liner that matches her hair.

CLOTHING: It can be said that Deandra dresses boyishly. While her shirt and jeans usually fit, it's not very easy to see past her baggy black hoodie. When she has her hair down, she wears a dull gray beanie hat. In colder weather, she'll wear a chullo. Deandra wears jeans faded from age. Sometimes they can have wholes, but most of them are in good condition. All of her jeans, however, have markings on them from her idle drawings that couldn't be washed away. Frequent washing can cause them to fade, but when they do, she usually draws or writes something new. She usually wears sneakers or converse shoes with ankle socks. Deandra mostly wears darker colors.

PERSONALITY: Deandra is a pretty laid-back girl. Most of the time, anyways. Well... Okay, so, like, look. This is how it is. Deandra isn't going to stress about everything. She's at that point in life with that personality that just says "You think I care but I really don't. Seriously, I don't." You could say she was lazy as well. Deandra isn't the adventuring type because... Adventures. Traipsing around the woods and stuff like that? That's a lot of work, man... However, Deandra actually likes seeing wild things, so she could make a compromise. She isn't very excited about all that running around and stuff, especially since metabolism is on her side right now. It might not be right to say she was lazy, now that I think about it, but just unenthused. It's pretty depressing to see an unenthused fourteen year old. They have their life ahead of them, right? So why aren't they excited? Deandra would tell you it's because she hadn't seen anything exciting. What Deandra needs is a little push, or a friend that'll force her into everything to get her going the way she should. But while we get her uninterested, somewhat detached, and frankly blunt surface out of the way (which I think we can count as a con, depending on where you stand), then we can move onto to the side of the spectrum that doesn't make you think, "Well why is she here, then?"

Deandra isn't here because adventuring is the coolest thing or because the greater good needs or or because this would be her start as a Pokemon trainer. Deandra is here because she likes wildlife. Pokemon, animals, bugs, trees, flowers. They're all interesting in their own little ways. She doesn't really like telling people that, or showing it, though. As a kid she enthusiastically looked up all the information she could understand on anything that had to do with biology and still does so today. She figured she could get a hands-on experience by now. As a kid she used to try and sneak up behind Pokemon, sit down, and watch everything they did and take sloppy, childish notes. Now that she's older, she's gotten better at taking notes, sneaking, and makes little illustrations to add to her scientific studies. It may be one of her deepest dreams to become some sort of biologist one day. If she could talk to Pokemon, she'd give them interviews. If anything can make her happy, it's her Aipom. If she needs a reason to calm down, usually he knows how to help her out, and that's a good thing. Out of all Pokemon, she'd have to say that aquatic Pokemon and animals were her favorite. It was much harder to observe marine life when they were always in the water. The mystery surrounding these water-dwellers made them the most interesting, so they took up her mind the most. Deandra has very little interest in battling or leagues of any sort, so the whole gym part of this mission is pretty much a big negative on this awesome opportunity. Oh well, maybe she'd find a way around it. She was good at shirking.

Over the years, Deandra has gotten a lot of nicknames. D, Deedee, Angie, 'Andra, Andrea, Dean, or even Destiny. Out of all of them, she prefers the name Dean or Deana and will sometimes introduce herself that way.

INTERESTS: As stated previously, Deandra is fascinated in wildlife, though she doesn't admit it. Animal Planet and Pokemon Universe were her favorite TV channels when she was younger and today. Discovery Channel isn't half-bad either. The science of creatures, how they're made, and above all, how they behave, is the Super Rod of her mind and attention. Other than that, Deandra enjoys drawing, which she is fairly proficient at. Video games and texting aren't half-bad either.

DISLIKES: Deandra doesn't like it when anyone disturbs whatever she's observing. That may be her biggest irk of all, since it ruins everything. She also doesn't like work, which is more of a given, and isn't exactly fond of children. She thinks her parents are kind of a drag too and her brother was an annoying snot-nose. Those counts as dislikes, right? People?

HISTORY: Deandra was born on Cinnabar Island and has always been on Cinnabar Island. She hasn't gone to a new house or anything like that, and relatives usually came over there to visit. There wasn't a lot of leaving and coming back going on. As a kid Deandra was pretty excitable and everything in the world made her high like candy. She was pretty energetic. Honestly, her parents don't know what happened then and now. As a kid, Deandra would always chase after birds or Fearow and try and catch them with her own bare hands. Maybe animals and Pokemon can sense who the children are, very few of them turned around and chased her back. Not that she minded, she liked the chase unless she got hurt. To try and keep her energy in check, her uncle got her a pet Pokemon, an Aipom that had just been born at his shop not too long ago. It really didn't take long for the two of them to get alone and both have been pretty much inseparable. Beads and sparkles and earrings and jewelry in general was something that Deandra loved. She isn't as into the fashion scene now, but some good jewelry never hurt. Her parents are very acquainted with her loves for biological research, even though she wished they didn't. The only pro was that they got her stuff relating to it and were good support, but other than that they were really annoying about it. She was probably the parallel to her younger brother (coming around four years later), who just wants to smash some Pokemon heads together and battle, fight, and train like a good ol' traditional Pokemon trainer. While Pokemon fascinated Deandra, gym leaders were her brother's idles and were his best role models (other than dad, of course). When this whole "thing" started, he noticed the change in the gym leaders before the rest of them did. Deandra was sure they were all like that, but her brother was much more adamant and, later on, much more disappointed. His little trainer dreams were being crushed by the day. It may have been his sorrows and Deandra's own interests that made her agree to help Ambella. Not only would she see wildlife she never could and be away from home for a while, she could also get to the bottom of the gym leader's attitude change. When she left, she told her brother that she wouldn't come back until the gym leaders were good again. She wasn't really sure if she could keep that promise, but it made him smile.

BODY: Fiona stands at about 5’7 and a half, her weight fluctuating around 137-142 pounds. She’s a redhead, but not necessarily a ginger. Her face is absent of freckles, and her skin is far from pale white. Her hair flows softly down the edges of her face, reaching down to her shoulders and resting there. She only keeps this style at formal events or something of the sort(or when she can’t be bothered to tie her hair up). For a more casual look, Fiona wraps her hair up in a ponytail. Her eyes are a vibrant, light brown, in a sense, her eyes look like they shine. She has a soft, gentle smile, including a dimple, not a pair, but one on the right side of her face.

Fiona’s not necessarily petite, nor is she thick. She’s more lean than anything. Keeping her body in great condition, her legs are somewhat muscular and defined and much to her pleasure, she has decent curves for the most part. A hidden tattoo can be found on the entirety of her left arm. It’s design, a vine, lightning, and a ocean wave, cycle around her arm, starting from the top of her shoulder and ending at her wrist.

CLOTHING: Fiona’s usual attire consists of a black one sleeved shirt; the sleeve being a long sleeve(to cover her tattoo) and a pair of fitted white shorts. Green tinted aviator shades hang from the neck of top. Along with her ponytail look, a pink, adjustable curved brim cap is worn, with her ponytail poking out from the provided space. She’s a non-believer when it comes to socks, wearing brown moccasins sockless. An old hand-me-down satchel bag hangs from her shoulder and rests upon her bottom, the strap running down the front of her body containing six slots for pokeballs. Five of them are vacant.

PERSONALITY: It takes a lot for Fiona to get irritated, at least when it comes to people, plus shes not the competitive type. But at the same time she probably keeps his actual emotions bottled inside him. Thus, when alone, her threshold for annoyance is rather thin, unless of course, she works it off. For the most part, she appears to be somewhat of an optimist, but at times, can be somewhat neutral about things, not taking an optimistic or pessimistic viewpoint. If she ever does insult somebody, which rarely happens, at least in person, Fiona tends to use the most awkward slew of words to do so. This, Fiona believe, lightens up the mood a little bit so afterwards its not necessarily a heated or uncomfortable environment. Fiona tends to make a lot of early judgements about people, usually only in her head though. But it only rarely affects how she interacts with others because well, it’s not really who they are, right(sometimes)? Anyone she meets and befriends, usually become important to her straight off the bat, like they were a long-time friend. Also, Fiona is somewhat of an opportunist, if nobody’s going to get, she’s totally willing to take advantage of people.


INTERESTS: Fiona likes to learn, but she likes to learn through experience, not books and crap. She loves to hear gossip and whatnot, but honestly, she doesn’t know what to do with it. She wouldn’t feel right if she helped spread it, Fiona just likes knowing the currents and things similar. Awkwardness is something Fiona enjoys, it’s somewhat funny, at least when she’s not a victim of it. To spur awkwardness, sometimes she walks around, spanking people at random. No preset victims, if you’re chosen, you’re chosen. Although most people wouldn’t guess it, Fiona likes to get her hands dirty and do actual field work, the thing is after she’s done she just has to get clean or else she’ll like die.

DISLIKES: Fiona has a strong distaste for book learning, her attention span when it comes to stationery activities is so small, you couldn’t even like represent it with visuals. She has a few pet peeves; people unwilling to get a little bit dirty, and people that always try to make a contest out of something, like can’t you just chill out and have fun?

HISTORY: Born in Fuschia City, as the daughter of two, which soon after became one. It’s complicated, her mother had died shortly after giving birth. Reasons as to why or how were never disclosed to Fiona, her father didn’t deem it necessary and she eventually stopped asking. Due to this complication, her father had two options, either quit his job, which paid him a great sum of money, or take his daughter with him to work until he could find a babysitter. Unfortunately, well it actually turned out pretty good, but he was unable to find a proper sitter for Fiona. Thus, at her early age, that could be measured in months and weeks, she was exposed to pokemon. Which really just guided her sense of interests for future years.

What did her father’s job have to do with exposing her to pokemon you may ask? Fiona’s dad played a vital role in the Safari Zone. He would come every morning, usually bringing Fiona along attached to his back, and check to make sure all the pokemon were fine and suitable for trainer’s safety at the expense of his and his daughter’s. In some rare cases, things did get considerably dangerous. Rampaging Tauros, overprotective Kangaskhan, territorial pokemon and the like. When she was old enough to talk and walk, her father stopped carry her on his back, infact, usually they got to ride around in a mini cart! Usually, she never participated in actual field work and just looked on while her father did everything.

On rare occasion though, when she was around nine years old there was an unusual amount of littered pokeballs among the Safari Zone. So much so that pokemon could no longer roam for the fear of accidentally setting off a pokeball and being captured. Around that, most of the Safari’s pokemon were relocated, and the Zone itself temporarily closed. Her father, respectively, was assigned the job of cleaning up the mess, Fiona saw the opportunity to actually participate and after pleading and begging, her father allowed for her to help.

Whilst cleaning up the pokeballs, there was one particular pokeball, that Fiona had accidentally stepped and slipped on. Strangely enough, it contained a pokemon inside it because after she had accidently triggered it, a Doduo had instantly appeared before her. Being naive and young, Fiona had no idea whether to be scared or what. Instead, she just poked the bird in one of its head, it returned the poke and sooner than later, they were engaged within an intense poke war. The Doduo was obviously winning due to it’s unfair advantage of having dual heads. She eventually got tired of their little game, and it was starting to hurt, Fiona was covered all over in marks and scratches, she was even bleeding from of her cheeks. After its victory, the Doduo surprisingly bent down, prompting Fiona to mount it. She did, but not before picking up it’s pokeball, and around they rode until they ran into her father. Of course, due to her roughed up face, her father at first was reluctant to allow her to keep the pokemon, but after hours of pleading, she finally annoyed him enough to get him to say yes! Unfortunately, that broke employee policies, causing her father to get fired about a week later.

Luckily enough for them, her father had a backup job, but it required them moving to Cinnabar. They had no other choice, so they packed their bags, and moved into a family friend’s house, renting out two guest rooms. Live wasn’t necessarily hard to adjust, she didn’t go to school, but spent most of her time playing and messing around with Doduo. She was no longer involved in her father’s work, so little so that she didn’t even know what his new profession was.

About two years ago, her father and the house’s owner/family friend went off on this traveling expedition, exploring every single region known to the poke-universe. She didn’t want to come along, it was like something just told her to stay. Of course, this did give her the perfect opportunity to get this tattoo that she wanted. Feeling that 14 was too young, she waited until the night of her 15th birthday, using the money her father had sent back home, to get her tat. Now honestly, it really holds no meaning towards it other than it looking cool. Come on, it’s a goddamn triple helix consisting of vines, electricity and an ocean wave! Besides, seeing as she hasn’t burn down the house or something stupid in two whole years, she kind of deserves some lee-way to get a meaningless tattoo, right? But, her father has no idea about it, and if he did oh boy, that’d be hell.

Marty sat down for a rest, he had just left Professor Elm’s laboratory and wasn’t too sure on what was next on his agenda. He reached into his hoodie’s pocket, rummaging through his newly acquired pokeballs and dex. “Aha!” Marty pulled out a ticket, “Prof. Elm said this was important... I wonder why?” He took a good look at the ticket, nothing but blue and white. Marty gave a puzzled look. Suddenly a thought occurred to him, he flipped the ticket over, revealing that it granted access to a ship, the SS Libra. It was to arrive at Cherrygrove City, and soon. He slipped the ticket in the fold of his beanie, fearing if he put it back in his pocket it would fall out. If memory served right, Marty would be able to get directly to Cherrygrove if he followed the path of Route 29. But before any of that, he had to get acquainted to his new friend.

Since he received it from Elm, Marty hadn’t even released his Teddiursa. But now was the the time to do it, reaching into his pocket once more, he pulled out a pokeball that was larger than the rest. He clicked it, a red beam of light shot out releasing his new friend. The bear pokemon cried out joyfully as it was released, it eyes sparkled with curiosity as it looked around. Its eyes set on Marty, with its hands placed against its mouth, it walked over cautiously towards Marty. He stretched out both hands towards his new companion. “Hey there.” He tried to speak in a soft, welcoming tone. The Teddiursa hesitated, but then joyfully cried out once more before throwing itself against Marty’s body. Marty couldn’t help but smile, he took a good look at Teddiursa, noticing the crescent on its forehead. He instantly clutched the pendent concealed beneath his hoodie, just the image of the crescent brought back memories that Marty wished to bury. His pokemon looked up at him with worry, sensing something was odd.

“It’s nothing.” Marty smiled gently, as he rubbed the back of Teddiursa’s ears. “Right, well you do need a nickname...” The thought made Teddiursa’s head tilt in confusion. “Hey! How about Archer?” Teddiursa contemplated the name for a second before it nodded his head in agreement. Marty placed his hand underneath his chin, tipping it up. “Alright then, Archer. Let’s go!” Marty jumped up and began to walk, beckoning Archer to follow his lead. In a hurry, Archer bolted up and caught up with Marty, he attached himself to Marty’s sweats, clinging to him as they walked.

They had only been walking for a short period of time before Archer began tugging on his pants. Caught off guard, Marty nearly fell over as he turned towards Archer. “What’s up buddy?” Archer pointed off in the distance with a worried look upon its face. Marty looked over at what his Teddiursa was concerned about. He spotted a panicked Caterpie, tied down by some sort of webbing. Yards away he noticed a Spinarak, approaching the Caterpie, its prey. As the spider crawled closer to the caterpillar pokemon, Archer, in a panic, picked up a nearby pebble and launched it at the spider. Dead. On. Target. The spider-pokemon became momentarily stunned.

The Spinarak became extremely agitated, and turned its attention towards Marty and Archer, completely ignoring its previous target, the Caterpie. “Well your heart’s in the right place...” Marty sighed, he would either have to battle or flee. He already decided, Marty pulled the pokedex out of his pocket.

“Alright, I need to check your moves Archer... “

The pokedex beeped, “Teddiursa knows Fake Tears and Counter.”

“WHAT!?” Marty shouted so loud that he nearly scared Archer, “NO OFFENSIVE MOVES!?” He couldn’t believe it, Archer wouldn’t even be able to attack. The Spinarak decided to take advantage of their little dilemma and launched an arrow full of poison towards the both of them. Archer was frozen in fear, if he didn’t move he would surely be hit directly from the move. Instinctively, Marty grabbed Archer, held him to his chest and ran for it. They had no choice but to flee, the only move that could’ve dealt any damage was Counter, and from what Marty saw, that poison sting was no physical move. After they had run for a considerable amount, they three fourths of the way through route 29. Marty came to a rest against a nearby tree, Archer was still holding on, it’s arms wrapped around Marty’s neck.

“Hey Archer, it’s all okay now, we’re safe.” Marty was panting hard in between words, but he gave Archer a reassuring smile as he pried him off his neck. Unsure, Archer looked around almost anxiously, after seeing the coast was clear, Archer cried out happily at its trainer. “ The duo began walking, hoping to get to Cherrygrove in due time. Archer made itself comfortable in Marty’s hood, sometimes peeking over Marty’s head to get a view.

“Right, well we shou-, Woah!” Suddenly, Marty came toppling forward nearly landing face first. Archer had jumped off, using Marty’s head as a jumpstart. He looked back at where he had tripped, a rock had just sprung to life, showing off its feet and whatever the heck was on its head. “What the heck is this?” Marty was confused and slightly aggravated, he pulled out his pokedex, revealing to him that what tripped him was a Roggenrola. It glared at Marty at least he thought it did, wait was that even an eye!? Archer, in the meantime, had stepped in between the two, willing to protect its trainer and redeem himself for what had happened with the Spinarak. Marty regained his composure and slowly got up, “Hey Archer, you wanna battle that pokemon?” Looking back at Marty, the Teddiursa nodded and in the least threatening way, “roared” at the Roggenrola. In retaliation, the rock pokemon pointed it’s head, stick thingy at the duo in a menacing(not really) manner.

The Roggenrola charged at Archer, still pointing. “Alright, a physical move, that’s great! Archer use Counter!” As the Roggenrola made contact with Archer, the bear began to glow with a white aurora surrounding it. It cried out, not in fear or nervousness, but in excitement. Almost instantly, the rock type was thrown back, landed awkwardly on it’s head. In anger, it got shot right back up. Once more, it charged at Archer recklessly, inspired by its fury.

“Again? Archer, use Counter again!” It was like deja vu, the Roggenrola was sent back once more, this time the impact had been more powerful, meaning the counter was more powerful than before. Archer’s opponent was landed on its backside, causing it to roll back and forth trying to get back on its feet. It was kind of awkward watching it, both Marty and Archer exchanged looks that expressed -What now?-. Marty walked over to the Roggenrola, lending a helping hand, he lifted it up to its feet. Knowing it was defeated, the rock type walked off and away, almost like it was embarrassed. Marty gave a half smile, he had no intention of capturing that pokemon and decided to let it go. Turning back to Archer, Marty picked him up and lifted him to face level.

“Fantastic job, buddy. You won your first pokemon battle.” Archer flung his arms into the air in celebration. Marty laughed and Archer made it’s way back to Marty’s hood. “Alright, let’s go! Onwards to Cherrygrove... Hopefully we aren’t late.” Archer had moved from his trainer’s hood, to his shoulders. Wrapping its arms around Marty’s neck, Archer began to lick the behind of his trainer’s ears, sensing the smell of something sweet on it. “Hey! What the heck do you think you’re doing??” Marty and his pokemon both laughed, enjoying the moment.

NAME: Auryn Reins

BODY: Auryn is tiny, measuring 160 cm and weighing 47 kg. She keeps healthy by eating almost nothing but seafood and vegetables as well as running around in the outdoors at all times. Flowing down alongside her petite figure is her incredibly long hair. It is black as a raven and reaches down almost to her knees, being wavy and wild but still shiny in an almost blue way.

Her complexion is as pale as they come, but still most often has a healthy pink tint to it, especially on her cheeks. Not a single freckle dot her though, and she hasn't managed to find any birthmarks on her whole body. Her face is round, as is her nose, and her eyes are big and also round, with naturally dark eyelashes and a striking emerald color. Her front teeth are somewhat too large which shows when she smiles. Despite being so tiny, she has got enough muscles to be energetic and quick, with great reflexes and balance.

CLOTHING: Auryn will wear a black, rather short but wide and simple dress on her journey, with thin straps and some frill. Under that, she will wear leggings of varying colors, like red, green and blue depending on the mood and occasion. Her shoes are black ballet flats. Over the dress, she wears a long, gray coat. One significant part of her attire is her very big and round, glasses. They are a bit too big for her but they sit nicely in her thick hair behind her ears and they used to belong to her father so she really loves them. She doesn't even need glasses for real; there is not even any glass in them!

She also wears a pendant around her neck in a brown leather strip. It's an amulet for luck, and it's a light brown and white seashell that she found when she was playing at the beach with her mother some time, many years ago. For her stuff, she will carry a relatively large brown backpack.

PERSONALITY: Auryn is spontaneous, energetic and active, but not in a loud and annoying way. She can never sit still for long and has seldom watched a movie or TV series in her life. Speaking ill of others would never occur to her, which is why she tends to get very disappointed and even sad when people do bad things that could actually justify speaking ill of them. Normally, she doesn't ponder things for long though, and can forgive them very easily. She is not the person to wish for things and dream a lot to no avail; if she wants something, she makes sure to get there. This activeness together with her genuine naivety has earned her the place as the class clown, even though other candidates could do a more self-conscious job.

Her upbringing with her aunt Lucia has made her value different things in life than most 14 year olds do. She has never tried to wear make up and even if she does think about love sometimes, it's always in the platonic romantic way and never about what she could actually do with a boy. She wouldn't even know what to think about. Instead, she loves to spend time outdoors in the nature and see beautiful views and play in secret with her friend Remoraid.

She has got some friends in school, but they aren't very close as most find her too odd to bother with. She wears strangely colorful clothes most of the time and is generally too naive and oblivious to who is popular and who is not. Plus, doesn't she seem to smell like fish pretty often? This makes Remoraid the only real friend she has. Beside her aunt, of course.

INTERESTS: Above everything else, Auryn feels good when she is outdoors. She might not look like she's suited - or even dressed - for a life under the stars, but she feels like her body is starting to itch if she is indoors for too long.

Like with the seashell pendant, she likes to collect small, beautiful things. It can be pebbles, pieces of junk, flowers or things like that. She keeps whole shelves of collected stuff in her room.

A calm day is almost boring for Auryn. She likes when the wind blows and the rain falls. She loves when the sun shines strongly and cute clouds dot the sky. She likes when something happens and the nature shows its dramatic ways through weather.

Remoraid is her primary playmate and she is always eager to compete for fun or invent new games to get some exhilarating feelings. It's not winning that matters, it's the game itself!

DISLIKES: Sitting still was never her good quality. She starts feeling itchy and annoyed if she is motionless for too long, unless she is sleeping of course. She has been known to walk in her sleep though...

Auryn dislikes when people say bad things about others, and therefore she really dislikes when people do bad things and actually deserve getting spoken ill off. She also disapproves of rancorous people though, and easily forgets trouble herself.

Crying is to her unnecessary, but she has done it on occasions. Normally she bottles up sad feelings, so when they do come out, she can get really emotional and crying. Which she doesn't feel comfortable with.

HISTORY: Auryn was born in Vermilion City, as the first daughter to two loving parents. The father was an office worker in Saffron City and went there every day. The mother was a teacher at a local kindergarten. The first years of Auryn's life were happy and nothing special happened. Not until the fateful day when a tidal wave swept the Reins boat away and drowned the parents. Auryn, not more than five years old, survived and was washed ashore thanks to a group of Remoraid that she could cling onto. The newly orphaned girl didn't fully understand the severity of the situation, but she got sent to Cinnabar Island, to live with her mother's sister, Lucia Reins.

Lucia lived in an old lighthouse building on the outskirts of Cinnabar Town. Her values in life differed from most other people's, and Auryn was now brought up as a slightly peculiar child. She always wore clothes that looked strange to other children, because her aunt with her special taste picked clothes for her. She didn't own a computer or TV because her aunt believed that those machines would only dull your brain or make your eyes turn square shaped. She didn't play any sports, but she knew a huge number of bizarre games and ways to have fun that her aunt had thought her, using the forest and the cliffs near the lighthouse and beach as the setting. Auryn turned into a clever, alert and creative soul who didn't care much what people said about her because her aunt said that if you never speak ill of others, they would have no real reason to speak ill of you either.

Unfortunately, her healthy and odd lifestyle had its downsides too. She became naive and even clueless about things that would seem obvious to others. Like love between a man and a woman, because her aunt didn't think that stuff was appropriate for Auryn to think about. Politics and TV shows were other areas where she was completely lost. Another area could have been pokémon training. Lucia didn't even own a pokémon. She regarded them as useful beasts and fairies that nursed the Earth and lived their own lives, but she didn't think humans were meant to interact with them. And certainly not meant to force them to battle, or live with them! Here, though, Auryn's mind worked on its own.

She had been nervous and lost when she moved to Cinnabar. She made new friends in school and even though she grew up to be regarded as an oddball, she wasn't downright despised or laughed at. Well, maybe she was sometimes laughed at, but that was because she had accepted her role as the class clown and actually laughed with them quite often. But she felt a bit alone, like nobody really understood her. She didn't really understand herself, and wondered if she should be feeling more sad than she did over the loss of her parents.

One day when she was 9 years old, she was playing alone on the beach. Well, mostly she was thinking. Then, she noticed a pokémon washed up on shore. A Remoraid. It awokened a memory inside her, the memory of some Remoraid saving her life in the accident. She tossed the pokémon back into sea. It didn't even seem happy or thankful and just swam away, but nevertheless Auryn had repaid the help now, she thought. But after that, she started feeling watched when she was on the beach. Eventually, she realized that the Remoraid hadn't left. Whenever she went down to the beach, it was there waiting for her, watching her play with its expressionless face. So Auryn finally began playing with it.

It didn't take long for the two of them to realize that they needed each other. Auryn now had a friend who always listened, even though it most of the time was hard to tell if he really cared. Eventually she learned to read the little expressions his fish face actually did, and she discovered that he was actually quite the smart fish. She didn't tell Lucia about this because she knew her aunt wouldn't approve. But as it became suspicious when she started going to the beach more often, she knew she needed to find some other solution for being able to meet with Remoraid. So she started carrying him.

Under her arm, as if she was carrying a thin barrel there, she walked around with him. Remoraid was at first terrified of being out of the water, but he soon learned that it didn't really kill him. He seemed to be breathing air just as well as water anyways. Eventually, he even learned to jump around on the ground to get around, even though he preferred being carried around by the human girl.

One day, Ambella Coal accidentally met them when they were playing in the forest. She promised not to say anything to anyone about Auryn having a pokémon, but she didn't understand why it was so important. Then came the day when Ambella needed trainers for her mission. She thought of Auryn and her great bond with the unusual Remoraid and went to the lighthouse to talk to Lucia. When Auryn came home and found them talking, her aunt was fuming, having just learned that Auryn had been sneaking around behind her back with a pokémon. Ambella managed to calm them down though, and explained to Lucia that she needed the girl and her pokémon. Finally, Lucia agreed after Ambella had promised to pay her too.

So with a worried sick aunt and a land-jumping Remoraid who has only recently seen the inside of a pokéball for the first time, a naive little girl starts her journey to catch 'em all. Or at least find them. Or at least some of them.

I guess we need some kind of unsocial/gloomy character to counter Irwin and Auryn with :p I prefer if the RP posts are written in third person, though first person is ok. Second person makes me think of Homestuck too much ;p

BUT if you rewrite the RP sample to be in third person past tense (or at least some kind of past tense) I can re-read it and think again. Try to not be so fast-paced; it's a bit difficult to follow what's happening at all times :)
