Well, we have a lot of small businesses in our little town. Problem is, they mostly carry all arts and crafts stuff which I'm not all that interested in.

Damn, if I still lived in the city I could've gone to a local anime store called Hammergirl and supported a small local business that way... but here, none of the small businesses have stuff I want.

Its kinda sad, I dont know what small businesses are in my town :/ I never shop on Black Friday because of my horrific memories of working retail on that day. I dont want to give anyone a hard time, plus, I dont really need anything that badly. The year that guy was trampled in Wal Mart I was legit afraid of going to work because I thought Id be trampled too, no joke.

My little town has a lot of small businesses, and neither of them cared about Small Business Saturday. It's sad because a lot of these stores are mostly boutiques.

While I didn't see anything worth buying yesterday, I did see four people who'd taken motorized wheelchairs and turned them into horses which they were riding around town.

We tried pulling out of a parking spot and almost got t-boned by someone speeding through the parking lot. If we had pulled out 5 seconds earlier, we would have been hit.

The drivers in this city are scary.

In my town people just walk right behind your car in a parking lot when you're trying to leave like wtf? Why would people even do that? What if you didnt see them and they got hit? Seems like a risky thing to do.

Where else are they supposed to walk (especially if they have a cart)? It's a parking lot.. It's the responsibility of the driver to wait and make sure all's clear before backing up.

They can't go in the middle of the road as that is where moving traffic is and it is the drivers responsibility to watch out for pedestrians when they are moving out from a public place.

I once almost got hit when I did that. They just threw it into reverse and nearly hit me. I was sure glad I was paying attention. The learner's booklet always states that the pedestrian always has the right of way... Most people tend to ignore that.

I didn't say you had to throw all caution out the window as a pedestrian. But it is the responsibility of the driver nonetheless.

Ugh, safety is heaviley ignored in this present generation. Including the new citizens who are starting as rookies, sometimes I wish people paid more attention to what's in front, or behind then those silly devices that they've to contanstly monitor.

Too much stress for me to drive that's why I dont do it. I tried to learn and got so scared that my mom's car had got totaled in an accident( not her fault) that I just couldnt do it anymore.

I agree that cellphones absolutely should NOT be used when driving. I want to learn how to drive standard. Right now I only know how to drive automatic.

I was once told that if you can drive standard, you can drive anything.

Best of luck :3

I have a learner's license, but I have yet to drive or use it.

I've been learning since I was 12 years old, however since I'm not the legal age to actually drive inside the city or the high way. I know everyone starts as a rookie, but in order to be able to drive onto the highway legally you've to understand the basic rules of the road, what I refer to as "Rookie" is simply someone who passed their test, but can't apply the safety of the road into concerdiation. You've your own opinions, and I've my own., and the meaning of words are also what you think of it.

I picked up driving easily. Not saying I was perfect because I wasn't especially under pressure of my mom but I just kind of got behind the wheel and went. Though only on automatic. Haven't learned how to drive a stick-shift.

Cellphones are illegal where I am, so it's really annoying to see people yaking away on them. I was actually stuck between like three people who were on their cellphones and I was terrified for what could have happened because I had no idea if these people were actually concentrating on the road or not. Thankfully nothing happened, but I suppose that's just another reason to be a defensive driver. That also reminds me of the time I was on the highway to pick up my sister from the airport. Two people were coming up pretty fast and I was like "huh, I wonder if they'll slow down." They didn't. They were street racing and the meridian was right next to me so I was just hoping they wouldn't hit me. One of them switched lanes.

I like driving. I found it pretty easy to pick up too, but paying for gas sucks :'(

Meanings are fairly standard. That's what dictionaries are for.

Moogles, cellphones in cars are illegal or cellphones in general? That is some strict place you're living.

I see people on their phones behind the wheel all the time, even though it is against the law now. I don't do it. I try to be as safe while driving as I can. I have hands free though. But I never call out.

Since we're talking about driving too... my school is only 20 minutes away and I work from home. Any driving I do is within the area. I haven't been on a highway in quite some time because I'm rarely downtown and when I am it's with the rest of the family so I'm not the one driving. XD I find highway driving easier though, you just go straight lol

Yeah. In Alberta, it became illegal in September of last year to have any distractions behind the wheel, including cell phones. The only exception to the rule is if you're calling 911, afaik.

However, if I get a phone, I'll be using hands-free calling. That's still legal.
