I'm turning this into a game. I will pick the best 8 for Johto, and the next best for kanto. i will add a poll for what game you think these gym leaders should be in. in the event of a gen I game being chosen, i will alter the moves that are unavailable for gen I and replace them with similar ones. in your entry, be sure to list what city it is in, and what region or gym it is a part of. johtom entries are only available for the johto games, but i may use a kanto entry for a johto game (if a gen II game is elected).

I am going to all this trouble so i can release a hack with no editing to the story, only to gym leaders and their pokemon and names. i am calling this hack The Gym Leader Challenge.

Using ONLY GEN II TYPES AND POKEMON, create the most annoying or difficult gym leader(s) you can. make some beast move combos, types, and pokemon. list your pokemon choices, and the movesets to go with it. There are no limits to how many times you can apply.

FORMAT (stick to this if at all possible)

Leader name
Leader strategy
Leader types
Badge number - city/town/village
What generation

Level: Poke1 - move 1, move 2, move 3, move 4
(repeat as needed)
then defend yourself if movesets are bogus

here is an example...

Jonny (didn't really try on the name)
Eternal type advantage (pokes that can use many types of moves)
Many types
Badge Number 7 in Johto - Mahogony Town
Generation 2 (RBY)

Lvl 35: Clefable - Psychic, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Ice Beam
Lvl 32: Nidoqueen - Sludge Bomb, Submission, Thunder, Earthquake
Lvl 31: Snorlax - Surf, Amnesia, Thunderbolt, Body Slam
Lvl 34: Lapras - Thunderbolt, Psychic, Hydro Pump, Blizzard
Lvl 32: Raichu - Surf (DUH!), Agility, Thunderbolt, Mega Kick
Lvl 28: Muk - Dynamic Punch, Sludge Bomb, Acid Armor, Light Screen
(these movesets are possible through trading across gens and breeding)

this format is almost mandatory.

Let see how this plays out. I want some interesting combinations and leaders. I want as many ppl as possible to apply. i'll check daily and let you know in maybe a month or so. Lets see.

NOTE - This is for everyone: new members, regular members, administrators, and anyone else in between. Lets make this a good project! Ask any questions if you are confused. And btw THIS IS NOT FOR FIRE RED OR LEAF GREEN! Gen I/II ONLY!!

Lets see what we can make of this:

Gym leader Wildy

Pokemon 1:

Counter
Mirror Coat
Encore
Destiny Bond

Pokemon 2:

Hypnosis
Pain Split
Mean Look
Perish Song

Pokemon 3:

Explosion
Sludge Bomb
Thunderbolt
Fire Blast

Pokemon 4:

Rest
Sleep Talk
Fissure
Horn Drill

Pokemon 5:

Fire Blast
Blizzard
Thunder
Hyper Beam

Pokemon 6:

Curse
Rest
Sleep Talk
Body Slam

The first 3 Pokemon usually take down a Pokemon by their own, leaving my 3 sweepers to clear of the field!

i like that idea! the three ALMOST guaranteed KO's and then three pokes that are jard to take down, a very good strategy. lets keep going! next!

interesting. a straight up power approach. mixed strategy. i like it. although those movesets are too advanced for second gen. but if a few of the moves are changed it has a real shot.

NOW lets get a little further in to this. lets keep it going ppl!

kepp em comin, i like how its going. and by the way, an unofficial 9th gym?? that is a terrific idea! similar to viridian in the gen I. what would the prize be for defeating shader? what accomplishment?

Okayyy well, this section isn't for help with your game. If you want further help, you can take it to VM or PM or Emulation or something, cause this isn't really what should be discussed here. If you need ideas for a game you're making, then take it elsewhere. I initially thought this was just to make gyms in gen I/II for fun, but it's not. Also, in the future when you make threads, please don't keep spamming and bumping them.
