It took me some time to understand what I was supposed to do in the game, but, once I did, I managed to rack up coins very quickly. It was a fun game. I think I got an Abra (later evolved into Alakazam) and another Pokémon this way.

It was removed from the newer games because a large reason to play it was the TMs, and the TMs became infinite.

I sucked at the slots so Voltorb Flip was a welcome change to me. They should've had more games, though, for example a high-risk/high-reward one, and a low-risk/low-reward one, to make things more diversified.

I loved the Voltorb flip! I got addicted to it pretty quick and I was able to raise enough coins to get a Porygon, so I can't complain.

I didn't mind it at all, it was fairly enjoyable and it was simple enough to rack up thousands of coins if you knew what you were doing and got a little lucky.

I thought the game itself was pretty fun but I hated the changes they made to the game corner, like not being able to buy coins. Before, since I didn't like the slot machines I always brought my coins to buy pokemon but in HGSS I had to actually play the game. I just didn't bother.

Best gambling game ever. Its addicting, makes you think, and the reward is substantial enough that its slightly easier to get more coins. First time I actually bought a Pokemon from the game corner.

my mom is really good at this game. i actually bet on her who can get the highest score which ended up in managing to get a Porygon thanks to her help lol.

The other 2 pokemon you can get for a prize aren't really that worth it in my opinion, they are all found elsewhere.

I loved voltorb flip! It was much better than the slot machines, as there was no way of losing coins. Also, I loved how it was a logic game, it made it really fun and intense when you got to the higher levels. And the music was rockin'! It was also much easier to gain coins from this in my opinion. (because you couldn't lose them)

I preferred it to the otherwise complete randomness of the slots. The whole no-risk thing was a nice touch, too. I still think the ability to buy coins should have been implemented, though.

I absolutely Hated the Voltorb Flip...it was tedious and just so annoying in my opinion...
Even the same was not nice at all, since you played at like an NPC's house.
The Game Corner was way cooler, it had a cool casiono and the slot machines were of course luck based, but i had more fun using them than playing the voltorb flip

i didn't really like it, i think it was too hard and that pretty much barred me from getting a dratini until AFTER Claire's gym.

I quite liked Voltorb Flip and managed to rack up quite a lot of points on it, but not enough to win a prize. I managed to get up to about level 3 or so after getting the concept. Although it was frustrating, it was also addicting lol. The sad thing was.. I forgot to save at some point and my emulator suddenly crashed, making me start all over again with 0 points. I was like gahhh and gave up lol. ._.

I hate Voltorb Flip. It pisses me off to no end as it is a luck based Minesweeper fodder. I don't care for the Slot Machines, but Voltorb Flip....

I liked the old slot machines. It was easier to get tokens. Plus, you could talk to people who would give you tokens or find some on the floor (there was always a lot on the floor actually).

I like the Voltorb Flip but I can't seem to get the hang of it. Sometimes I do great, while other times I fail like ten times in a row. It is like Minesweeper but harder @.@

I got to level 5 once and it is actually kinda fun, untill you have to guess to get further in the game. It takes a lot of time and since you can't buy the coins or find them on the floor it gets pretty time consuming at least if you want to get a pretty expensive price.
What I don't get is why they changed it in gen four and not on a previous gen. Did kids begin to gamble because they played Pokemon? I don't think so.

Remember kids: gambling is good for you

I love voltorb flip! I think its a way easier way to win coins, plus its not entirely based on luck, there is some logic and skill involved. Its great to be playing a video game while thinking at the same time imo

I prefered the slots in Pearl than Voltorb flip, because if you get lucky, with the little Clefairy on the touch screen, sometimes it shows you what slots to stop first, and if you follow it, you are guaranteed coins. Voltorb Flip was annoying.

Voltorb Flip is an easier way to gain coins than the tradicional slot machines.

I liked of this change, but I'm still the kind of person that prefers buy coins that wasting my time on this minigame.

Voltorb flip is like a puzzle. You have to figure it out and once you do at least partially like me, you notice that the 1st 3 levels can be very easy/simple. I am in the process of figuring the rest of it out. One of the key concepts of dominating Voltorb Flip is knowing how to break down each level to the multipliers.

I disagree with this change in HG because this game is just too hard for younger kids like ages 12 and under. To figure this game out flawlessly takes pure intellect. If you can outsmart the guy who designed Voltorb Flip then it there will be no issue in it for yourself.
