In China there's actually a Ranch 99-type store in a freaking mall.

It was awesome. I thought I was gonna go outside - nope! More consumerism.

And for that, I don't think they have it in Japan, because it would honestly be a bit redundant, with all the cheap 7/11s that sell like nutrition.

They actually sell sushi in 7/11s in Japan. That's amazing. Where I live, you can only get Monster and Doritos in one of those places. It's disgusting.
They just have overpriced crap in most of the corner stores here. It's almost $6 for a 4L of milk. Head 15 minutes west and you pay just about $4 for milk.

Nothing in them is even remotely healthy.

I lived there for two years, you'd think I would have bumped into it. Oh well.

Lol $6 for a gallon of milk is too much? I don't know but I think there are places in the US that sell a gallon for like $8 or $9.

Though tbh the taxes in wherever Vancouver is, is totally crazy. 12% is just too much for me to even live there :s

Yeah. They have a Harmonized Sales Tax that combines GST and PST (Provincial Sales Tax) in BC. I think only Ontario is the only other province to have it.

*lives in Alberta with 5% tax*

Here it's 7%. It's the best when the shops calculate it in and have the price of something at like an even 7 dollars, because they're actually charging slightly less than 7 and factoring in tax. :3 Idk I find that cool!

Low taxes don't mean things are always cheaper though... we make up for it with those transportation fees cause we live in the middle of nowhere =( Those shipping fees and online shopping just murders me (though still cheaper than buying it at a retail shop.)

Omg I bought my new computer online and the idea of no tax was excellent. No extra like 50 bucks? Yes please!!!

Most shipping fees are little to me. I actually had free shipping with my camera and new mouse that I'm picking up tomorrow from the post office. I think the CD I ordered had a couple dollars of shipping costs, but it wasn't too bad.

As for transportation fees, I try to avoid taking public transit, like busses and taxis because they just cost so much.

My laptop has been broken for months, and I won't be able to fix it anytime soon :'(

My Mac has been a pain in the ass, so that's not too good either. I had to spend 3 hours just to get Daft Punk on my iPhone because my Mac stopped recognizing it.

My friend got a new one over christmas. He said he'd give me the old one, but there's a catch - he dropped a drink on it and damaged it, so he took out the hard drive to spare his files. He got it working again, but he discarded the bracket to hold the hard drive, so he'll give it to me, hard drive-less.

ofc I can think of something though.

It's probably cheaper to buy a new hard drive than a new laptop though.

Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, trash it, change it, mail, upgrade it,

that's the logical course of events.

Man my macbook's screen is broken, the whole thing functions just fine but I keep having to press the light-up buttons because the backlight won't stay on. It's like one million dollars for a screen replacement. Boo. White people problems

...white people!? Haha. So politically incorrect.

But dude, check out iresq.com. I replaced my MacBook Air screen through them and they did a superb job. 8)

Yes Nica. Apple quoted me $999,995 to replace the screen on my MacBook.

It's Apple, man. People pay premium for that.
