Hey I just realized, the latest national pokedex has 649 pokemon, you know what that means? In gen 6, a pokemon will have the pokedex number 666. What are your thoughts on this matter? Do you think GameFreak will take this advantage and make some kind of demonic pokemon, or will they simply ignore it.

It has come to mind whether or not GameFreak would create a Pokémon to sort of recognize the omen that is the number 666. If I recall, however, Japan doesn't necessarily see the number six as an unlucky number - at least not in the same vein as the number four and nine. The most they might do is make it a Ghost or Dark Pokémon or just look over it completely. After all, Pokémon #444 is a Gabite and there's nothing unlucky about it. Actually, in Diamond, its PokéDex entry says its scales are said to be able to cure practically any illness.

Pokemon #666 may be some comical, "boon" Pokemon like Delibird or Farfetch'd. The Pokemon franchise has never been centered around any religion or even given a nod towards any of the current religious archetypes (Christianity, Buddhism, etc.). Yes, the legendary Pokemon of each region starting with Generation 2 are themed after certain mythologies but never any serious religions. Generation 4 is an exception as it was centered around the idea of creationism from the God Particle (research it).

Anyway, back to the subject, no, I don't think #666 will be any seriously demonic Pokemon. If anything, it may be an imp-like Pokemon, or even a Sableye evolution, but that'd be as far as they take it.

Eh. I don't think anything particularly special would come out of Pokemon #666, really. I'm agreeing with what Shivi said, they might make a Ghost-type or something and look over it completely. /shrugs.

Well theirs people who say the real number of the devil is 616 and that would be Shelmet irc back in Generation 5...sure it's annoying but not evil. Maybe make something like that. Also Giratina and Kyurem came off more as demonic pokémon. I say Kyurem as it's stats are near Arceus' and it's connected to Fire which Lucifer is said to have been made of (funny how Reshiram is all angel like), Electric (lightning) which Lucifer is said to have fallen in the shape of (Zekrom is pretty demon like), and Kyurem normal which is ice like the original version of hell, where god's light can't reach plus it looks broken as if it fell. And Dragon which is the form Lucifer will take Yet's despite fitting so perfectly it's it's based on Tao not Satan's fall...unless it's a mix...if so original Dragon should be 666.

That said, a terrifying pokemon isn't exactly unheard of.
"Shrieks randomly during the night to scare people." "Steals souls whenever its wick is burning." "Kills people who try to grave-rob." To be blunt, they aren't as cute and cuddly as we like to make 'em.

Really hoping the regional bird looks somewhat intimidating like Staraptor and Pigeot. I wasn't a huge fan of Unefezant and Swellow (Well, I thought swellow looked cool)

Also hoping for more pokemon like Luxray. Maybe a Lion and Tiger pokemon as counterparts perhaps?

Not ALL cute pokemon are bad! In fact, some cute pokemon are quite good.
Let's see... Blissey, Dragonite, Clefable, the Eeveelutions, Snorlax (yes, I find it cute), Bellosom, Politoad, Porygon 2, Altaria, Togekiss, Vanilluxe, and Galvantula.

I don't think there will be anything 'special' for #666. It's a christian concept and unknown to Japanese.
Also, current national dex ends at 649. We can add 9 starters to go to 658. i expect Regional rodent to be 659 and 660. Next can be another evolutionary line ( ala lillipup , Kricketot and poocheyena).
Thus, according to me, #666 can belong to the regional Bird evolutionary line. But they have interchanged the sequence of Rodent and Bird in past generations. so it can also be the Regional Rodent line.

This! I don't know about you guys, but Staraptor (and Pidgeot to some extent?), were one of the best birds to like, ever be made in a game. It was kind of disappointing seeing Unfezant, but eh, not complaining too much, I suppose it was useful for being like, a Fly slave or something, but I'd like to see this gen's bird actually have some competitive use. :3

And I do think that they'll probably lean on a tiger/lion Pokemon this time around o: At least it just seems likely that they would...hmmm...I can imagine it being a pretty powerful Pokemon, too...

Strong isn't always associated with evil, tough! Due to that, really, the Pokemon in that spot could go either way, although cute seems more likely based upon the past (although not all you listed would necessarily class as "cute" to most, though!)
