Well, that's comforting. XD I thought it was just some 4chan member who might've gotten it from a leak somewhere...but the problem there is the "where the hell did he get this information from??"

Grass/Flying...pfft I hope that never happens to a grass starter. >___>

Yeah, Xander basically nailed it. I know most stuff 4chan leaks turns out to be false. And Chespin doesn't look worthy of a Grass/Flying-type evolution given the creature it's based on.

He's pretending to be from one of the Nintendo companies. Nintendo classifies this as Fraud and Theft, so if that guy really does work for them, this is 5 to 15 years. Not worth it.

EDIT: Someone on Pokejungle mentioned something I forgot. There is supposed to be a Grass GYM in X and Y, not a Grass E4 member, since there was a trailer of the PC traveling through what is speculated to be a Grass Type Gym. So easy bust there.

I beleive the grass gym was speculation. Either way this is totally fake...these people should use their free time to create fan made games or something...

Well, this is 4chan, what do you expect? It's reasonable to be skeptical of them when it comes to something like this, though I do admit that the effort put into it was indeed amusing, it almost got me falling for it, sadly. @_@;

That said though, speaking of gyms, I managed to think of an interesting topic: in what order would you like the gyms to appear by? For me, it's:
  1. Water
  2. Fire
  3. Grass
  4. Psychic
  5. Dark
  6. Rock
  7. Normal
  8. Dragon

Probably cliche and overused to have Dragons as last gym, but the battles are always fun, so I don't mind. XD

I want the gyms to be:
1. Ground
2. Poison
3. Psychic
4. Steel
5. Dragon or Normal (as one of the gyms does seem to be normal)
6. Fighting
7. Bug
8. Dark
since as the PTW shows the types listed need some more gym leaders, especially compared to the overused water gym.

I want fire, electric, grass and water to be the E4 types, that'd be cool.

Same here, either that or Fire, Ice, Electric, and Dragon.

About the rumor, The "leak" is too perfect, imo. There is a Farfetch'd evolution, a Qwilfish evolution, Pinsir gets the treatment, Lapras a pre-evo, not to mention all the special type combinations we've been drooling over for so long. Everything appears to be just as we want it, and that is making me suspicious. It's also immensely detailed, kind of like a neatly organized wishlist passed out as a leak. We've seen plenty of elaborate wish lists in this thread, so it's clearly not impossible to create something detailed, yet believeable, and post it as "the real deal".

Keep in mind that the kids who've stayed with Pokémon since the very start are in their mid-twenties now. They know the patterns of GameFreak, they know the communities, and they follow the speculation. With a little determination, imagination and some time, they sure could create some damn convincing Fakemon and post them as real. We're not in the "Pikablu" or "Nidogod" era anymore. The Pokéfans of today know that the most believable claims are the least exaggerated ones. The Internet is quite full of recipes on how NOT to create a good rumour. All you have to do to stand out from the rest, and appear extremely credible in relation to the others, is being sparse on details and watching your grammar.

That being said, "Mr. XY" could be speaking the truth. The next reveal might shoot him down completely, or confirm what we've heard. The middle ground is extremely narrow given the amount of stuff he posted, so he is indeed balancing on the edge with this. Then again, anonymity => no repercussions. If he's just trolling, there will be no consequences to him. We will remember the incredibly detailed fake, not the guy behind it.

In any case, I do have ideas for E4 and Gyms myself:

1. Dark
2. Flying
3. Rock
4. Fighting
5. Poison
6. Ground
7. Ghost
8. Ice

With elite four:

1. Grass
2. Fire
3. Water
4. Electric

If they do make a Dark type gym (which is LONG due) it should be a later gym. I would prefer it to be last.

As much as we wish that there'll be a Dark-type Gym, if there ever is one... then it should have a more "city streets at night" theme for the Gym where things are broken and smashed, like what you'd normally see in impoverished places.

That's what I'd like to see as a Dark-type Gym, but as far as I'm concerned... when Pokémon on Facebook asked "What is your favorite type of Gym?" most people said other types, though I saw some say "Dark-type" as much as they wish for a Dark-type Gym.

Let's just hope that a Dark-type Gym will appear in Pokémon X and Y.

With the elite four this time around, part of me prefers them not to have any specific type at all. I know that's kind of copying the Champion, but I want a more challenging E4, not just "whip out a supereffective pokemon and gg". I understand that it'll be less original, sure, but the cost is minimal compared to tougher and possibly funner battles. XD

But that's the reason why the Elite 4 from the first three gens fell flat. They weren't using Pokemon associated with their specialized types, not to mention using 2-3 Pokemon from the same line, and it's also why we're in need for more diversity on certain types to prevent this from happening again. If they're going to make another Ghost type specialist, then they'll need to make more Ghost Pokemon.

I don't know about Gen I and II, but Generation III's E4 did not fall flat, and they actually did use Pokemon associated with their specialized type. I mean, Glacia and Drake? Sidney? Phoebe? Each and every single Pokemon that they used correlated with their specific type, so I don't know where you're getting this from. Take a look for yourself, really.

I agree with the whole utilizing the Pokemon from the same line, but they were definitely-type matching. But I haven't seen the whole "diversity" issue ever since Gen III, so...

Gen III's Elite 4 did fell flat, because you ignored what I said about them using 2-3 Pokemon from the same line. Glacia, Drake, and Pheobe are guilty for this statement.

Actually no, I edited my post and you just didn't notice. :P

But again, the diversity has never been an issue since Gen III, so why bring it up? Each and every E4 ever since then has had different Pokemon from different evolutionary families, so I doubt there should be any cause for worry this generation.

Because you wanted this gen's Elite 4 to abandon the type specialist tradition and go with a mix team like the champion.

Yes, I do, because that's something that's never been attempted before in any generation, but yet, you respond to my post saying that the past three generations already tried this? From what I'm looking at, actually, all past three generations used Pokemon related to their specialized types. You can argue diversity all you want and I'd agree with you on that note, but there has never been a non-specialized based Elite Four before, so I personally think it'd be something interesting to have, personally.

How about we have an E4 of Steel, Ghost, Normal, and Ground, all types which have resistances against another type. Also if they give them cover moves against types they're weak against, such as Earthquake for the Steel leader's pokemon, and Stone edge for the ground Pokemon to take down ice types.

I just hope if they're all type specialists, that they all use Pokémon of that type. I'm looking at you D/P Volkner and Flint.

Gyms:
1)Bug
2)Rock
3)Grass
4)Psychic
5)Poison
6)Dark
7)Steel
8)Fighting

E4
1)Dragon
2)Flying
3)Electric
4)Water
Champion is fire and mixed at the same time.

This setup feels the best for me, the E4 is mostly new with 1 returning type, all the gyms are mostly the rarer ones, and rock needs to make a comeback gym wise, its not a Pokemon game if there isn't a rock gym. I'm looking at you gen 5.

I would actually like it if the Champion were to have some sort of specialized type as well, wouldn't that make things too easy? I'm thinking of back in Gen III, when Wallace and Steven were both champions, and yet they used specialized Pokemon, but were the battles too simple doing so? Comparing both Steven and Wallace to Cynthia, were the battles easier or harder? I'd say Cynthia was definitely one of the harder ones, so maybe the Champion ought to stick to being mixed.

Hm...

Anyone think we may see another triple gym like Unova only with different types. Maybe a Ground, Electric, Flying trio. If one picks Chespin you battle the flying, if Fennekin than you battle ground, if Froakie you battle electric. Interestingly they're the types of the Kami trio so a gym trio of these types doesn't seem all that random imo. Also the first gym leader should be a girl, thus far Roxanne is the only female out of the 8 first gym leaders of the 5 known regions.

Eh, I don't about that too much. I'm pretty sure Gen V had triple type gym leaders for the sake of Pansage, Panpour, and Pansear? Unless they have these kinds of Pokemon in this generation, I don't see them doing triple-types again. :(

I do miss double-battle Gym leaders though. I miss the days of Tate and Liza.

I think Cynthia was a good challenge, and I hope they keep it like that. The final boss battle of the main story should be hard after all. I also liked how all her Pokémon had 31 IVs in each stat.
