I tend to forget how many there are honestly. It seems like less when you think of everything region-by-region. I wouldn't mind if gen 6 introduced 300, I wouldn't complain lmao. VARIETY, CHANGE, ETC. Fun stuff.

Yeaaah I want more snow warning users because aboma suuuuucks. Well, actually, aboma is okay, but... I really, really do't like it's typing. But if they are going to add more weather users, I really, really, hope they slap it on to a pokemon that has dual typing; instead of one that just has a 'single' type. Like, Ninetales was okay, but, there were plenty more options, like.. Heatran, or heck, even Arcanine. Maybe the fire starter gets in in Dream World?

We just found out about Pokémon X and Y this morning, but Pokémon company international is already out and about answering questions… sort of.

We asked J.C. Smith, the director of consumer marketing for the Pokémon company international, about the gameplay, the graphics, how many new Pokémon we can expect to see, and a lot more about for Pokémon X and Y. He wasn't ready to answer most of our specific questions, but he did offer a few tidbits and promised that new information on the game is coming as early as tomorrow.

Smith also assured us that Takao Unno, director of Black and White 2, and Junichi Masuda, producer of Black and White 2, enjoyed our previous interview where we asked a number of bizarre questions. We were sure that we would never be allowed to speak to them again.

Keep an eye out tomorrow for more information on Pokémon X and Y, and in the meantime check out Smith's answers below.

Seeing as it said that there's over 700 new Pokémon in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y... means it's around 50 new Pokémon. Well that's OK, I don't mind not having several more Pokémon, but I guess it's to save space on the ROMs themselves, because 3D models do take up more space than normal images.

And yeah, I do think 800 is a little bit too large, I was more expecting it to be around 150 new Pokémon, but it's 50 and I'm happy with it. xD

They did say over 700 Pokémon so there still could be 52-150 new Pokémon really.

If there's over 700 then it's going to take a loooong time to fill up the Pokedex. If B2W2 had 300 for the Pokedex, I wonder how many these will have.

For sure on the long time bit I could barely fill it up with in the Gen IV. I do like filling up the National Dex so I hope it's around the 300 number hopefully a bit more!

Not really. They seem really legit compared to... the third evolutions of Unova starters. XD;

But yeah... new pokemon generally looks like Fakemon, at least too me for the first... hour. :3 I dunno, for me, whenever there's new pokemon, it does generally take me a while to get used to em'~ But, I think I'm starting to warm up to the starters!

Fennekin could resemble Vulpix in some ways but I still don't associate them together. The starters may be similar species or have similar appearances to previous but they're not duplicates, I think the look good.

I feel that any new Pokémon will feel like a fakemon. But I'm sure that will disappear quickly.
