All it says over the web browser is that Ash's grandfather is mentioned only in the Japanese version of the Pokémon anime, but not in the English dub version, but not in any foreign language dub versions either? So I'm just wondering why?

Because 4Kids left that bit of info out for whatever reason and the other foreign dubs carried it over due to being based on the english dub, I suppose.
