Personality: Greg likes to keep to himself, as he is rather self-conscious due to the bullying that happened to him when he was a kid. He has a difficult time conveying his words when he is speaking, but in his writing he is eloquent beyond his years. He has a deep-seated want to understand Pokémon and how they act, and is quite knowledgeable about these from the amount of time he has spent studying. Beyond that, he isn't generally considered "smart".

As introverted as Greg is, he keeps a small close-knit group of friends that he feels he can trusts. Outside of these friends, he generally doesn't share anything personal with anyone, including his family. He has a hard time trusting people, and if you break the trust that you've given him, you will never gain it back from him (there might be exceptions to this, but to this day there hasn't been any).

The good news is, once Greg trusts you, he will treat you with nothing with kindness and respect. He values those that he can count on to have his back when he knows that the majority won't have the same courtesy back to him. For those he doesn't trust, he doesn't treat them with any disrespect, he doesn't act overly kind to them, he just gives them the common respect and goodness he believes all people should be treated with.

As far as interests go, Greg was always very into Pokémon from a young age, as they were always around him in his household. He played with his parents Pokémon when he had the chance, and he loved them, even if he didn't feel the same way about his parents. He's always liked hanging out with his small group of friends, where they usually talked about their general lives, Pokémon, and their futures of what they wanted to do when they grew up. As a more "fun" thing, they also played kickball a lot.

Today was the day. The day Greg finally had the chance to leave home. He would leave behind a family he didn't fully trust, all the bullies who had plagued him everyday life, and his small group of friends he shared everything with. That last one was a giant sacrifice to Greg, as they were all he felt like he could rely on, but when you begin a new chapter in life you must let things from your past go, as hard as that might be. At the very least he felt like his family would miss him, even if they didn't have the best relationship, but they practically shoved him out the door when they heard of the compensation they'd receive if Greg participated in Professor Pine's study. Typical of them, Greg thought, to only care about themselves.

Greg was told to meet Professor Pine in the Pokémon Center of Viridian City. An odd place to receive a Pokémon, as he thought you would usually start in the professor's lab. Greg didn't care too much about that though, as he was more than ready to leave all the bad things in his life behind. He had never stepped foot into the Pokémon Center before, but he knew the building well, with it's bright red roof and the sign on the outside of the building.

As Greg made his way through the city, the familiar feeling of being alone sank back in. That would last long though, as he was about to get his first Pokémon on this gorgeous sunny day. The small ponds reflected his image back to him, and he couldn't help smiling back at himself. Nothing could be negative today. As he approached the familiar building, he started to get nervous. What if his Pokémon didn't like him? Well, that's not an unfamiliar feeling that he's felt with real people all the time. What if he was too late? No, the professor would surely wait for him. He swallowed his fears as he stepped inside the Pokémon Center, and felt relieved when he saw a woman with a white lab coat and long dark hair standing at the counter with Pokéballs in front of her.

"Excuse me, are you Professor Pine?" Greg asked quietly. His introversion was showing, as talking to new people always made him nervous, regardless of the situation.

"That would be me," she started. "And you must be Gregory! I'm pleased to meet you," the professor said as she extended her hand with a smile.

Greg felt relieved that she was friendly, and shook her hand and matched her smile with one of his own. "I feel the same way! I'm ready to start my journey."

Professor Pine's face grew excited, as she stepped to the side, revealing the Pokéballs Greg saw earlier. "Well, you are a little late compared to the others who have been here, so I don't have many Pokémon left. But I think you might like this one," she explained as she handed over a Pokéball to Greg.

It felt nice holding the small red and white sphere in his hand. It was a feeling that he could definitely get used to. He pressed the small button in the middle to expand the ball, then tossed it in the air a little to release whatever was inside. A white light emerged, and eventually took the shape of a monkey whose tail was on fire.

"This Pokémon is called Monferno, and it comes from the far-away Sinnoh region. I don't know why, but I felt like a fire-type might fit you well," the professor exclaimed with a smile.

Greg was a little nervous at first looking at the Monferno. It's eyes had a fierce look to them, and it look like a rather tough Pokémon. It gave him the same sort of feeling of seeing one of his bullies, but at the same time it was almost comforting. This was a Pokémon that he would be the owner of, and that almost extended to overcoming his fears of bullies. The feeling of nervousness melted away to happiness, and Greg knew it would be a good fit. "He's perfect."

"Wonderful!" she exclaimed. "I'll let you bond with him later, but right now I have a few more things to give you. First," she started as she handed a small red box-shaped device to him, "this is a Pokédex. It will record data on Pokémon as you encounter them. It's like a Pokémon encyclopedia that updates with new information all the time!"

Greg took the Pokédex and scanned Monferno with it. He wasn't expecting the device to have a voice of it's own.

"Monferno, the playful Pokémon. It skillfully controls the intensity of the fire on its tail to keep its foes at an ideal distance."

In addition to the small blurb, it showed Greg the moves Monferno could learn, it's typing, and a whole slew of information about him. A Fire-Fighting type was definitely useful for Greg, as it should be very strong offensively.

"Next, this is your license for the Pokémon League. This will allow you to earn badges from Gym Leaders, as well as compete in the Indigo League if you collect all 8 badges, which I'm hoping you do! And that's about all I have to give you, so whenever you're ready to head out feel free!" Pine said excitedly. She definitely loved her research, and was excited for the new trainers to start to help with it, even if they didn't know what it was truly about.

Greg thanked her and returned Monferno to his Pokéball. He would bond with it later, but right now, he needed to get out of Viridian City to start his journey. He strapped his new Pokéball to his belt, ran out the doors of the Pokémon Center, and north towards Route 2 and Viridian Forest.

Depends on what you'd prefer. If you do want to start out in Pewter, I can alleviate your pokémon's levels depending on how many pokémon you wish to have captured on the former routes. The fewer pokémon you have, the higher their levels will be. Somewhere in the middle of what the rest of the players in Pewter have.

You'll have to let me know the gender of Petilil, and also Monferno was able to learn Fury Swipes at lvl 16. Would you like to discard one of the current moves to learn Fury Swipes instead?

As for the new leveling update; my only issue with it is that I really want to get grovyle's next grass move and that won't happen until 29 or so. Otherwise I won't mind too much because the other moves are pretty average minus Slam maybe. Using Absorb for a grass move is pretty lame but I'm stuck with it for awhile. : /

Let's hope you'll get TMs in an area or quest soon, then. Since we have level caps now, you'll likely reach the cap anyways, if you write several posts in an area using Vuowth as much as you've done this far.

I believe Zovy is supposed to learn another move at 15 then according to the B2/W2 moveset if you're still following that.

I'm pondering what TMs I want to obtain potentially for future Pokemon should they become obtainable or focus on what I have now and what they can learn now or in the future via evolution. Zovy will probably need more boosting since Vuowth is already armed with a decent egg move.

I'm afraid I personally have lost the spark for it : \ Not as much because people stopped posting, but more that... well, I realized that I'm not much of a fan of RPs with minimal character interaction, other than with characters you make yourself. It's been a fun run, but I think I need alot, -alot- more interaction with others in an RP before I can really get pumped about something, so I'm sorry Red Been a good one though.

I personally have come to realize that sometimes I enjoy writing my own thing under the guidance of a Game Master a bit more, and other times I enjoy making short posts where I interact with others at all times. My solution has been to join both kinds ^^

Arabelle is in ways a troubled young teenager. Only 14 years old, her path in life has already been set by her family, who is part of a small religious order whose life and practices are strange in modern Kanto. But as they keep to themselves and their affiliate mansions around the region, nobody really disturbs them and they don't disturb anyone else. Not that the everyday family member knows of, in any case. Arabelle has an older brother, but it is she who is set to become the next High Priestess of the Sky Trio Order. This means nothing more than a life of constant servitude to her though, since she will have to marry her cousin who is the next High Priest - the one with the real power. For her own personal reasons, she does not want this. Instead, she wants to live like a boy.

She has always felt confined and restrained, growing up as a gentle, pleasant girl when her brother and his friends were allowed to run around wildly and play with pokémon. The only pokémon she got to play with were skitty or butterfree, and then only under controlled situations. Something else she wanted to do but that was looked down upon by the other women in the mansion, were fiddling with computers and technology. At this day and age it was too bothersome to live without any kind of phone or technology, so the Silverkleins did have all sorts of normal machines in their house, but they had a special person in the family who was responsible for the upkeep. He was called the Warden, but he was really the brother of Arabelle's mother. He was the only one who thought it was ok to teach her technical things and such she spent a lot of time in his lab and garage, growing up, but never talked aloud about it when she was with the rest of her family.

She signed up for professor Pine's study without telling her family or the Sky Trio Order and ran away into the city on the morning when she was set to meet with the professor at the pokémon center.

The lively girl hopes to prove to the world that she is just as strong and worthy to be a powerful trainer as any boy is, and just as worthy to be smart and technical. She will try to stay clear from cute, girly things in order to accomplish this faster, even though she might like them on some inner level that she closes away for her purposes now. She is a longing dreamer and tends to worry a lot about things. In spite of this, she will take up challenges whenever she can and strive to become better and better. Her curiosity helps this on, but it also causes inner conflicts between this curiosity and her tendency to worry. The worst thing she knows is when things are unfair, especially between girls and boys.

The morning sky was orange and clouds drifted gently by up there. Down on the ground, Arabelle's legs kept running.

She was not used to exercising thoroughly - quite the opposite, as girls of the family were expected to be still and calm, not physically fit. Gender roles. From what Arabelle could recall, she had not even once believed them to be actual things to follow. Just something mankind had made up.

The city was still calm this early in the morning. On purpose, she had chosen an early time to meet with professor Pine in the Pokémon Center. Still, she was a whole day behind the first trainers to go. Had she gone on the official date, it might have been too suspicious. At least the Warden had a faint idea of what the High Priestess to be wanted to do.

She wanted to train. Train herself, train her pokémon, train in any way possible. To become stronger than her male relatives and show the Silverklein family that they were wrong in forcing these confined roles upon the sexes.

Still, she had her doubts about her reasons. What if she was wrong? She hadn't really realized how difficult this quest might be yet. What if she was forced to give up along the way? Well... that's that. Then. Not now.

Now, the doors to the PokémonCenter slid open in front of her. The center was open 24/7. Of course. Trainers could come in with hurt pokémon at any time. If only humans were so easy to heal as pokémon were. But they were not beings of energy in the same way. Really strange, that. There were some scribblings on the matter in old texts that Arabelle had been forced to read as part of her homeschooling in the Order...

No. Not now!

Now, the white coat of the professor made her easy to distinguish as she leaned on the counter, talking to a nurse. She looked tired. Maybe this time of day was early even for hard working pokémon professors?

"Hello, madam professor," Arabelle announced her presence with, bowing ever so slightly as she came to a stop only a meter away from the older woman.

Pine turned to look at her with a slightly surprised face which then cracked up into a warm smile. "Hello there! You must be Arabelle Silverklein, am I-"

"Yes, you are correct, professor, but please, uh..." The girl stepped a little bit closer and looked around with a wrinkled forehead. "Keep it down, because I'm... Well... Not supposed to be here."

Pine looked at her carefully for a few seconds before sighing and smiling again. "I see. Don't you worry. I have met many aspiring trainers already, who set off yesterday on a journey they won't quite understand for some time. No one really understands what a journey I am asking of you. Yet, you all push on and bravely face new challenges every day..."

The professor was drifting off into her thoughts until Arabelle cleared her throat with an excusing smile that brought the woman back, apologizing.

"When I heard that a member of the Silverklein family was coming to take up my offer, I thought they were sending you with a full escort and under pompous conditions, haha... I see that it's not the case. Nevertheless, I have prepared a pokémon for you which I think your family would be proud to know that you owned."

She held out a shining pokéball, which Arabelle took with big eyes. She had never owned a pokémon for real before.

"Charmeleon is now yours. Treat it well and it will turn into a fantastic dragon. Fits your house, doesn't it?"

Arabelle could see that the professor thought she had matched her up well, so she didn't say anything. Just smiled. In reality though, dragons were kind of the opposite of what her Order liked. Dragons were fierce, dangerous mythical beings while their sky trio of legendary birds were majestic and wise in a more elegant way. At least according to the Order. But she would do her best. She had always been a bit fascinated by tales of dragon trainers anyways.

Don't mind me, I'm just putting Aberdeen aside for a while to steal Charmeleon create a new character and breathe some fresh air into things.
