Jason Wolf Chapter 1 - Part 1
________________________________________________________________________

Team:
Spoiler:
Rook the Pawniard (Inner Focus) - Scratch, Leer, Metal Claw, Iron Defence

Jason kicked his bedroom door open as he screamed along to “It’s a Long Way to the Top” by ACDC. His arms were filled with his backpack, a couple of items his parents gave him, and his new pokemon’s pokeball. His new pokemon, Rook as in the chess piece, was hissing with laughter as he darted into Jason’s room. The devious Pawniard was quickly analyzing everything thankfully only with his eyes as his hands were two relatively long and very sharp blades. Jason dropped the things he was carrying on his bed, and then unplugged his 3DS so the music was playing out of the speakers.

“Alright Rook you and me are in this now, and we’re gonna rock! We’re going to be the best team, and its all cause no one expects us to know anything, but I’m seven steps ahead. We’re gonna show them that it doesn’t take training it takes knowing.” Jason roared.

“Pawna ha ha” Rook chuckled.

Jason grabbed his laptop, and pulled up a ton of files on the local pokemon. His research had been mostly on these pokemon, so this data would be crucial. Jason plugged in his poke’gear and move the files over to it. Then he plugged his headphones back in for “Jukebox Hero” by Foreigner. He put everything in his backpack, and ran out the house. His dad was already at work, and his mother just watched out the window as her son dashed off headlong as he always had. She sighed looking away for a moment knowing that she wouldn’t see him back for dinner.

Jason first stop was the dock. He needed to pick up a water type, and there were plenty of Krabby skittering around the piers and tidal wall. Rook was happy to go anywhere he’d get to fight. He was already picturing his first battle alongside his new partner. As the duo arrived they spotted Jason’s father’s plane off in the sky. Jason used to jump and wave as though his father could see him, but this time he just looked elsewhere trying his best to stay on task.

It was warm, and the sea breeze smelled as you’d expect like bad French fries and fish. Jason had picked up some rocks on the way, and began to toss them into the water trying to stir something up. Before he knew it he had a Staryu and two Krabby on the pier trying to figure out what was going on. Jason grinned seeing his prey coming to him. Rook hissed with laughter as well.

“You know what happens now mate. Leer then crush them all.” Jason yelled anxious to get his first battle going.

Rook glared at the trio of pokemon trying to unsettle them and get them to drop their defense out of fear. Apparently it didn’t scare the Staryu though as it just waddled back into the ocean not caring any more. The two Krabby’s remained, and attacked simultaneously. One stayed back using Bubble to attack while the other used Vicegrip. The water type attack hit decently hard, but the Vicegrip was pointless. Rook went for the one who used bubble first extending his long thin blades to execute Metal Claw perfectly. Rook followed up with a Scratch attack with his left blade.

“Great, now keep up the offensive.” Jason advised knowing his pokemon knew its skills better than he.

The Krabby Rook was engaging attempted a Vicegrip, but its weak normal type move bounced off Rook’s hard metal body. Rook used another Metal Claw attack to send the Krabby back into the drink. With one dispatched Rook turned to the other Krabby who tried to keep Rook at bay with Bubble. Again it had no obvious advantage so Rook could power through it, and strike with a Metal Claw. This attack sent the Krabby flying back. Jason thought it must have been a direct hit, and would knock out the Krabby, but the stout orange pokemon came charging back as though the attack hadn’t been anywhere near as powerful. It had picked up that Bubble was it’s best choice, and fired a volley of the spheres at Jercio. Rook showed some ware from the barrage, but came out on top again slamming the Krabby with a Scratch.

The Krabby staggered and fell as Rook stepped back feeling his work was done. Jason pulled out the spherical device known as a pokeball, and tossed it at the Krabby. A red beam vaporized the crustacean, and pulled it into the ball.

“I always hate this part.” Jason muttered.

Rook stopped besides his trainer, and stared at the capsule. He had quite enjoyed battling the two Krabby. This one had caught on quick about swapping tactics even if it wasn’t enough to beat him. Rook would love to go another round. If Jason caught the Krabby that would be a much more likely possibility.

Jason gritted his teeth. He was way behind the others who had gotten pokemon. He needed this Krabby to catch up. He wasn’t going to let his work go to waste.

Glyn Schaffer - Chapter 2 – Part 1

team:
Spoiler:
Kilohertz (Swift Swim) - Bubblebeam, Supersonic, Rain Dance, Water Pulse
Mathilda (Sniper) - Leer, Growl, Peck

The Pokémon centre was still open, even in the darkening hours of the evening. The lights inside were on, and the bright rays shot from the windows and the large glass sliding door, with an invitingly warm-looking interior when one looked through the glass panes. Inside, a few travelling trainers, were getting their pokémon healed up by the nurse Joy, asking for temporary boarding and exchanging their ideas. Summarisingly put, the pokémon centre acted as the hub for the wandering trainers to and from Dew Town. The red-tiled square frustum shaped roof of the pokémon centre was gabled by the front entrance by an outstanding white logo of a pokéball that iconised the facility's purpose.

Glyn, entering town, had run across two or three of his classmates. He stopped by, said hi, explained that he was going to take on the Novia league, and got a wow, good luck, and a thumbs up in return from them. With his hands in the pockets of his plaid shirt he approached the centre and as soon as he got close enough, the automatic doors detected his motion and opened for him. Inside, there were a few trainers already. Some were from Coriolis town. He could recognise them from the laboratory, getting their first ever pokémon, setting out to become trainers, aspiring to become the champion of Novia. Glyn moved to the counter, currently unoccupied. He looked left and right for a nurse Joy, and around the corner, a friendly face showed up. She blithely welcomed Glyn to Dew Town's pokémon centre. "Hello, I'd like to rest my pokémon here, and stay here for the night," Glyn said, to which the nurse Joy responded positively, taking the pokéballs containing Glyn's pokémon for treatment. "We'll make sure to take superb care of your pokémon, sir. And if you need a reststay, we have rooms available for travelling trainers." The nurse Joy offered Glyn a key to one of the unoccupied rooms where he could overnight. He stuck the key into his pocket and curtly nodded to the nurse, though she already had her back turned to him to bring his pokémon away for their treatment. He was sure Kilohertz was pretty battered from the fight, but that the nurse knew what she was doing to make him fit for the next day again.

Glyn struck a bored look. His attention turned towards a stack of magazines meant to entertain the patrons of the pokémon centre. From their perfectly ordered way of stacking, he could tell that not many people had steeped so low on their boredom to start reading these things, but he supposed that there's a first for everything. He picked up the magazine on top of the stack and flipped through the pages. There were interviews with top trainers, those who competed in the leagues, sneak peeks into the training regime of the elite four, fashion advertising, contest results, more advertising, comic of the day, pokémon-themed crossword puzzles, and surprise, surprise: more ads, and then the back of the magazine. He put the thing away and let his eyes fall to the machinery behind instead, just the kind of bored-minded staring at complicated stuff he did not understand that was just so much more entertaining than that magazine he picked up and put back in a matter of seconds.

// CHAPTER TWO : PART ONE //
Sid Norm

Current team
Spoiler:
Rocky - Tackle, Harden, Mud-Slap, Hone Claws
Swablu (Alter) - Peck, Growl, Roost

Sid grinned at himself. He was pleased to have caught his first Pokemon, even if he didn't try to catch it at all. Alter looked like a decent Swablu; from what he saw, Alter was the most beat-up Pokemon from the little fight since it went in with the hits the most, and that meant it was taking a lot too. The sun was starting to set, and darkness started covering the fields of Route 1. Sid noticed this and started to get worry. He had hoped to reach Dew Town within his first day and not had to make camp. A couple of minutes later however a glimmer of light came around and Sid fist-pumped the air. He had reached his destination just in time.

Dew Town was tiny, even smaller than the peaceful Coriolis Town. It has been known by trainers for selling cheap yet effective goods, and the Pokemon Centre in Dew Town was the first one Sid had ever seen. He had heard about the countless Nurse Joys who worked in these centres, and was excited to see how the lady looked like for some odd reason. Sid went straight into the PokeCentre and was surprised by the number of people in there; most of them seemed like trainers too. He noticed some faces, but didn't wait around to talk; he just wanted dinner and a rest. Getting to the counter, Sid brought out Rocky and Alter's Pokeballs, placed them in the tray, and started talking to the nurse on the counter.

"Hey, Nurse Joy, right? Could you please heal my Pokemon?" Sid tried to play it cool by sliding his tray a little towards the woman's direction. Nurse Joy just smiled back at him. "Yes, sure. I'm guessing, by the way your dressed, that you are a Pokemon Trainer? Are you also looking to stay?" Sid grinned, "Yes, that would be great." Nurse Joy bent down onto the bottom of the counter and handed Sid a key which had a tag on it. "Through that door and upstairs are some rooms for trainers to sleep in; just show me your PokeDex and a stay in a PokeCentre is free!"

After finalising everything, Sid pondered on what to do for the rest of the evening. There was a PokeMart in the tiny town, and Sid thought about stocking up on even more Potions, like his dad had told him to, even though his mom had packed in a lot of blue berries in his bag that was supposed to recover some of a Pokemon's energy. While thinking, Sid heard someone call out to him, and turned his face around...

Glyn Schaffer & Sid Norm - Chapter 2 – Part 2

Glyn's team:
Spoiler:
Kilohertz (Swift Swim) - Bubblebeam, Supersonic, Rain Dance, Water Pulse
Mathilda (Sniper) - Leer, Growl, Peck

Sid's team:
Spoiler:
Rocky - Tackle, Harden, Mud-Slap, Hone Claws
Swablu (Alter) - Peck, Growl, Roost

After the nurse Joy had taken Glyn's pokémon into the care of the pokémon centre, he turned to look at the lobby. A few other trainers, some of whom he recognised were rookies like him who were with the group that got their starters that day in Coriolis. Glyn, outstretching his arms, caught eye of another of the greenhorn Coriolis trainers, just delivering his pokémon for treatment at the pokémon centre. He was about his age, and wore dark red-and-black clothing: a black jacket with a maroon shirt underneath. He figured, since he was overstaying in the pokémon centre for the night, he was going to be laying back for a while, and should strike some conversation with other new trainers, brainstorm, talk about experiences, whatever. Moreso, he was just snagging for social contact with humans.

"Hey," Glyn said, hitting a calm, nonchalant, but not too unfriendly tone, "You're from Coriolis too, aren't ya?" "Huh?" Sid turned around to face at the direction from where the voice had came from. Alongside him stood a guy that was much taller than him; although he wasn't small, Sid felt a little short compared to the guy who greeted at him. The tone seemed friendly yet confident, and so he figured that it was just another trainer healing their Pokémon in the Pokémon Centre. "Err, yeah, I'm from Coriolis Town. We met before?" Glyn didn't really recognise the face of the trainer from the others who were at the lab to get their starters, not that he was an unforgettable face in the crowd or anything, as opposed to the rainbow kid who was in the pokémon centre as well, though it could have been that he visited at a later time. "I don't think so," Glyn accompanied that statement with a shake of his head, "Maybe seen you as a stranger before. It's a small place after all. You just got your pokémon from the lab today too, right?"

Sid wasn't sure of the sudden curiousness from the stranger; for now though, he took it as just friendly chatter. And also what's with this getting a Pokemon from a lab thing? Before Sid replied back however, he realised something - he WAS supposed to get his starter from Professor Palm, but his dad had insisted on starting with an Aron. So that's what this guy probably meant; he probably mistook Sid for another trainer that had started their journey with the professor. Except, Sid had started his journey from the professor, just not like the others. Confused by his own thoughts, Sid tried to clear his mind and reply with a understandble answer, "No, actually, I didn't. Well, I meant to, but my dad insisted on me to start with his Aggron's baby, so all I got from the professor was a Pokédex and some Pokéballs. So I did start my journey from the professor, just not like you. If that makes sense." Sid was not sure if the final output of his speech was logical or not, but gave a friendly smile in the end just to seem polite. Glyn smiled, and replied with a curt, understanding nod. "Oh, I get it. That's pretty cool. I got a Tympole from the lab myself," he drew a step into the lobby to make space by the counter for other visiting trainers wanting to deliver their pokémon. He pivoted back to the lad, a finger lifted like he was experiencing an aha-erlebnis, "Oh, wait, so your dad's a breeder?"

Sid suddenly erupted into a laughter. His dad? A BREEDER?! Man, he would pay a LOT of PokéDollars to see his manly man dad Brandon as a Pokémon Breeder. "No, no, no, he's no where near a Breeder!" Sid continued to laugh, not helping to the awkward situation that he had put the other guy in. "He used to be a Pokémon trainer, back in Johto. He won all the eight badges there, and even challenged the Elite Four once! Unfortunately though, he lost quite spectacularly to the first one he faced; that's a story for another time. But yeah, he's too much of a "man" to ever become a breeder. His Aggron laid an egg with another Aggron of my dad's, and he had no idea where the egg had come from! Fortunately my mom, who was travelling with my dad, was and IS a Pokémon Breeder, and so was able to take care of the egg with the Aggron. And that's how this little guy came about to my team." Before long however he realised that he had babbled on about his dad and suddenly grew red and scratched his head, "sorry if I went on a bit too much then haha.." "Oh, err, well, I think I guessed wrong," Glyn's face flushed when his question sent the other guy keeling over from laughter. "Wait, Johto you said?" His eyes got a bit wider when he reran the sentence in the back of his head, "No way. I'm originally from Violet city!" he said. He was sporting a half-baked grin on his face at the revelation of his compatriot. "Man, where are my manners? My name's Glyn Schaffer by the way," he said, striking a blithe note and holding out a hand to shake with the -- by happy coincidence -- fellow Johtoite.

Sid shook Glyn's hand. "Interesting name there, Glyn. I'm Sid Norm." He remembered the fact that Glyn also was from Johto and grinned. He had never met someone else from Johto before. "I was born in Goldenrod City, but moved here in the Novia region when I turned five, so I can't remember much, but yeah, my family's roots are from Johto. You remember anything from Violet City?" Glyn beamed. "Pleasure to meet ya, Sid," he said, shaking hands with his new acquaintaince, whom he finally knew the name of. "I remember Violet City very well. My family moved to Novia when I just became 10. I originally planned to start as a trainer in Johto, after my brother, Cornelius, but that didn't work out; I had to wait 7 more years." Glyn fondly looked back to some moments in Violet City. Though some of his memories, he'd rather put away in a dark corner, he still loved the place for what it was, and could never bear to hold it against Johto, his home where his heart beat, for those valley memories that were present as well. "Man, I remember the huge Mareep ranches just south of town as well. It was so scenic to cycle by when I was a kid." "Sounds awesome; my mom has an Ampharos at home. She's suprisingly really strong and my mom had her since she caught a Mareep near Violet City, she once told me." said Sid, still fixing that now creepy smile. However, he dropped his face for a second; all this talk about his parents made him think about back home. What were his parents up to now that Sid had left home? Did they miss him yet? Were they enjoying their time alone? Aware that he was still talking to Glyn, Sid tried to change the subject to a more interesting topic. "Soooo, err, you caught any Pokemon yet? I've only caught one."

Glyn kept grinning from ear to ear -- almost like a cheshire cat -- throughout the conversation. He was overjoyed to hear that Sid's mother had an Ampharos. "Man, those are one of my favourite pokémon," he laughed. Sure, his father was a marine biologist, and one would expect a waterfond kid like Glyn, who captained JV, swam like an otter, and helped improve the swimming team's school record in the relay, to be more of a Buizel type, and he did love the water types -- especially Buizel -- but the Ampharos line always stayed with him as one of the fondest memories he had of Johto, because of those farms, and because of the plush he kept to remind him of home. "Oh, yeah, I caught a pokémon too, a Spearow. She was pretty ferocious too," Glyn replied, stuck intertwined by his nostalgic relivings and reality. "Oh, don't even mention that Pokemon" sighed Sid, remembering the earlier incident where a flock of Spearow had chased him down just because he had battled with one of them and tried to catch it. He still had a small scar from a scratch that one of the Spearow had managed to get on him. Sid decided not to share the story though to save his blushes. "I just... err... don't like Spearow. No hard feelings, of course. Anyway, I also managed to catch a Pokémon, a Swablu. I call him Alter though, no particular reason. I haven't tried him out in battle." Then suddenly, an idea struck in Sid's head, which turned his mouth into a crooked smile. How could he have not thought of this earlier? "Say Glyn - since we are both trainers and have two Pokémon each, do you want to have a battle with me, tomorrow morning? I figure that you are staying here for the night, so might as well test both of our Pokémon's strengths out to see who's better. Whaddya say?" Sid tried to put his hands to the back of his head and lean back. He wanted to appear tough for some odd reason.

Glyn stared at Sid when his face turned grim when he mentioned he caught a Spearow. He guessed he was aware of their usually aggressive nature. The Spearow he caught himself was very territorial too. He looked back to his battle with Mathilda. She nearly necked Kilohertz, for sure, if it wasn't for Glyn tossing a pokéball at her before she could strike another peck attack on the stranded Tympole. "No hard feelings, of course, they're a bit uncontrollable, I think, to put it euphemistically," Glyn chuckled. He wasn't certain of it whether Mathilda would be so docile either, even if he was her trainer now, and she was inside a pokéball. He had only a faint idea of what it must be like inside those containers. They apparently simulated an environment that was ideal for the pokémon inside, some technological mumbo-jumbo that he didn't care about, even if it would have been loads of interesting. "A battle tomorrow?" Glyn asked Sid, after snapping out of his train of thought. He smirked, his lips almost forming a double curve, like a mischievous feline. "You're on!" he said, and enthusiastically nudged him on his shoulder. "Let's get well rested for the big day then, eh?" he exclaimed, and he turned for the corridor that housed the trainers' rooms to find his place to crash.

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 2 - Part 3

Team
Spoiler:
Darner (Hyper Cutter) - Bite, Sand-Attack, Sand Tomb, Protect Aries (Keen Eye) - Peck, Growl, Sky-Attack

With Dan agreeing to the challenge Abel turned to his fellow trainer from Coriolis
"Well, I'm going to go an see if that pokemart is open, I could do with stocking up on a few supplies, I'll see you here in the morning before our battle". With that Abel walked off from outside the pokemon centre onwards through Dew Town.

As he walked throught the small town he could see as families began to settle for the night, preparing dinner and relaxing in family rooms, through the lit windows of the houses he passed. He wondered what his own family were up to and conceded that he'd have to call them that night, or in the morning after his battle, so they didn't worry about him too much.

Entering the little shop as it was about to close Abel apologised to the elderly women who was serving as the shop keeper
"Sorry miss, I can come back tomorrow if you'd prefer"
"Nonsense, just be quick about it". Abel was happy to comply with the women, she was nice but had a weird toughness about her despite her age that mixed with his already non-argumentative nature made him feel rather submissive. He purchased several potions, antidotes and the like costing him quite a bit but he figured that the supply would last him a while. With that he bid goodbye to the shopkeeper and headed back to the pokemon centre where he collected his pokemon from the nurse, fully healed, and headed up to his designated room. He was tired from his first day as a trainer and wanted to get to sleep early.

Devon Hall - Chapter 2 - Part 1

team:
Spoiler:
Litwick [Kindle] (Flame Body) - Ember, Will-O-Wisp, Calm Mind, Night Shade
Swablu [Aria] (Natural Cure) - Peck, Growl, Ice Beam

(Scyke, we both have Swablu xD Mine's female and yours is male )

Phew, and Devon thought that Corolis Town was small enough already - this place was just freaking miniature! With Kindle sitting quietly on his shoulder, Devon made his way towards a park bench and sat down, reaching for his second Pokeball from his backpack. Now, after a short yet tiresome walk into the town, it was time to welcome the new member on his team. The trainer hurled the ball onto the floor, letting out the female Swablu within, who was already staring at him with a pair of slightly hateful eyes. Devon blinked in confusion and knelt down in front of her, realizing that she was still angry about her defeat earlier on. "Look, I'm sorry about that...I know it hurt, but I tried not to-"

Before he could finish, the female Swablu screeched and flapped her wings, pecking Devon furiously on the nose and causing him to stumble back with a groan. Upon seeing his trainer being attacked, Kindle frowned and focused his power onto the flame above his head, ready to attack. Devon, however, had other plans.

"Don't," he said while going back into the same position and looking at the Swablu again. "Now that you're my Pokemon, you wouldn't have to be caught like that anymore. We can fight alongside each other, no? Plus, I'll give you a name! How about...Aria?"

Upon hearing her new name, Aria calmed down a bit and returned a softer gaze, letting her guards down by just a bit. Kindle relaxed as well, knowing that Devon would be fine now.

"Good. Now, show me what you know other than Peck and Growl," Devon suggested with a smile, petting Aria on the head which made her let out a purr-like sound of pleasure. She then stepped back, turned to a trash can beside the park bench and opened her beak, letting out a small beam of hypo-energy at the object, freezing the entire thing in no more than ten seconds. Devon was speechless for a couple of seconds - Ice Beam?! At this stage of evolution?!

Aria turned to her new trainer and grinned with amusement, knowing that he hadn't expected that one single bit. Flabbergasted still, Devon scooped her up and put her on the left side of his shoulder, a smile slowly showing above his astonished expression. "Well, the more surprises the merrier."

Sitting on the bench and crossing his leg above the other in a 90 degree angle, Devon's eyes landed upon some people that gave him the 'deja vu' senses. He had definitely seen them before, but they all seemed to be preoccupied right now. Maybe later. Maybe.

// CHAPTER TWO : PART THREE //
Sid Norm

"Let's get well rested for the big day then, eh?"

Sid was glad with Glyn's enthusiasm about a Pokemon battle; he hadn't really had a proper battle yet and with a guy like Glyn, it seemed perfect as both trainers were just beginners. As Glyn walked off, Sid turned upstairs towards the dorms and opened his room. He threw his stuff onto a bed, washed his face, and headed off outside of the PokeCentre.

Dew Town really was miniature as Sid expected; the PokeMart was literally right next to the PokeCentre. Sid headed in and inspected the items in sale. His mom had packed in a lot of berries but his dad had insisted on Sid to buy potions and such as soon as possible. After a thorough check, Sid picked up a couple of Potions and added to his PokeBalls count, and paid for all the items in the counter. Then he headed back outside, and to his disappointment, there was really no places of interest at all. Not even a cafe or a restaurant. It was day one and Sid was already getting sick of constant sandwiches.

"Oh well, I guess it's time for another cheese and pickle." Moaning about the lack of variety he had in terms of food in his head, Sid headed back to the PokeCentre and into his room, and quietly ate inside while reading a book. Before long, Sid went into slumber and snoring.

Dan's Team
Spoiler:
Vanilite (Ice Body) - Ice Shard, Harden, Mist, Water Pulse Togepi (Serene Grace) - Metronome, Peck, Charm

Abel awoke in a small hotel-like room wiping sleep from his eyes. Taking a few seconds for his brain to catch up he remembered the events of the previous day, happy with his journey so far and remembering he had agreed to battle Dan. He got out of the bed and quickly dressed in what had become his trademark look. Abel released Darner from his pokeball
"Trap!" the insectoid ground-type greeted him
"Good morning to you too. It's a big day since we have our first trainer battle today"
"Trapinch!" Abel was pleased with his pokemon's enthusiasm, Darner was clearly more of a morning person than himself, although he was excited for his battle. Quickly straitening up the bed, grabbing his bag and locking the door Abel headed downstairs and returned his room key and waited on a small round couch for Dan.

Dan awoke in his room with his two pokeballs placed on a small table, next to the pokeballs was his hat. Today is the day we battle Abel, it is sure to exciting Dan thought to himself. He dressed up, took his pokeballs, got out of the room, locked the door and went downstairs. Dan could already hear people downstairs."Mabye Abel is already downstairs". As he said that he went downstairs and saw Abel standing and waiting.''Hey'' Dan said as walking to Abel.

Abel looked up to see Dan coming down from the small set of stairs that lead to the pokemon centre's lodgings.
"Good Morning" Abel replied as the other trainer approached him
"Trapinch!" added Darner, still enthusiastic. Abel got up and said
"We are up fairly early so we can probably get in quick and use that bit of free space behind the pokemon centre as our battle field. Are you okay with a two on two battle?" he asked leading his opponent out the door and around the back of the building.

''Good Morning, yeah let's go for a two on two'' Dan said whilst looking at the pokemon in front of him. "Who's this guy?'' Dan asked taking out his pokedex and scanning the pokemon.
"Trapinch, the Ant Pit Pokémon. Trapinch dig cone-shaped holes in desert areas. Its large and powerful jaws are capable of crushing stones."
"So this guy is a Trapinch" Dan said "Alright let's go" and then the two walk off.

Abel walked a decent distance away from Dan before turning around to face him again.
"Okay, two on two" he said "my first pokemon is going to be Aries, come on out". With that he threw the pokeball he was holding onto the ground releasing the ferocious looking little bird within.
"Spearow!" Aries cawed, fully healed and ready for battle. Abel grinned at his opponent who was standing across from him
"What will your first pokemon be?"

Dan saw the little bird and thought that it might be little but it might be powerful.
''My first pokemon shall be Togepi'' Dan threw the pokeball and out of it appeared the little egg shaped pokemon
''This is the first time i am using him, just to let you know'' Dan told Abel
''I will let you have the first move'' Dan said

Abel looked at the little pokemon, knowing less about than he'd like, but enough to know Aries had a good shot.
"Don't worry, I'm in a similar situation" Abel called across their make-shift battle field to Dan "Aries, use Peck!" With that the sharp-beaked avian pokemon launched itself at the egg pokemon with a powerful pecking attack, the momentum adding to the ferocity of the move.

The little bird started to launch at the little egg
''Togepi, use peck too and then use peck again once you are done with the first one''
Dan just called out attacks without thinking of any strategy
Togepi launched at Spearow and the two were ready to collide

Abel smiled, he wasn't an arrogant person but he couldn't help but think he had a better eye for strategy than his opponent, and it did help that togepi didn't have he advantage of flight
"Roll under it when it jumps and peck upwards!". Instead of the two colliding Aries rolled upside down pecking up at the belly of the togepi before righting itself and circling back up.

''Togepi are you alright buddy?'' Dan asked
''Togepi!'' The egg pokemon said
''Alright then, use charm on it and then metronome'' Togepi used charm and was waiting for it to get closer to use metronome

Aries took the charm but it wasn't going to let that mean the match was going in the togepi's favour and neither was Abel
"Use growl" Aries let loose with a nasty growl, lowering the offensive abilities of the Togepi but it wasn't enough to avoid metronome. Togepi's hands glowed a light blue as it waved them in a peculiar motion before out of nowhere releasing a torrent of flame that caught Aries head on sending him reeling back but thankfully not burning him.
"Looks like you have some good luck" complimented Abel "but we are about done for this round. Sky Attack!" Aries' body was surrounded by a pale glow as he flapped on the spot before hurtling at the little togepi shrouded in a blazing white aura.

The sky attack hit Togepi and finished it off
''Come back Togepi'' Dan said ''You won this, but it is not over. Now see my starter pokemon''
''Come on out Vanillite'' A little snow ball pokemon came out
''Vanillite use Ice shard'' Dan said as Vanillite used Ice shard

Abel hadn't been expecting to be bombarded with a super effective move so soon so Aries took the ice-typed attack head on crashing to the ground. It was very nearly done, Aries couldn't handle another attack like that.
"Spear.." it let out a weak caw.
"Sky Attack again!" Aries hurled himself towards the vanillite but it was seriously weakened and likely wouldn't make contact without being knocked out by an ice attack.

''Again?'' Dan said confused
''Well then, Vanillite use Ice shard again'' Vanillite began to charge while targeting Spearow
''This round is over!'' Dan said as Vanillite shot the Ice Shard and it hit Spearow.

Aries hit the ground hard, no longer able to continue.
"You did great" Abel said to his fallen pokemon returning it to his pokeball "okay Dan, let's see how this goes, Darner are you ready?" Darner strode forward with confidence, a confidence not shared by Abel. Darner was at a type disadvantage and whilst his ground moves would still hit normally he would take hits harder from ice move.
Looks like I'll be using protect a lot guessed Abel.
"Use Sand-attack and follow it up with Bite!" Darner kicked sand into the face of the opposing Vanilite before rushing at it in an attempt close its powerful jaws over it.

Sand came into Vanillite and it was not ready for the bite that hit it
''That did some damage, now Vanillite use mist and then use water pulse''
Out of Vanillite came a thick fog like mist, and Vanillite could hide perfectly in it
After that Vanillite created a ball of water and threw it at Trapinch

Darner released his hold on the Vanilite and jumped backwards out of the mist that was forming. He was no longer able to see the Vanilite and neither was his trainer. They both did see the watter pulse that came careening out of the fog though.
"Quick! Protect!" a green protective sphere formed around Darner taking the super-effective hit and sparing the ground-type.
"Counter with Sand-Tomb" Darner couldn't see his target and hoped for the best as the minor sandstorm flew into the mist, hopefully catching the Vanillite.

The sand-tomb came at them directly
''Use harden to lessen the damage''
The harden protected Vanillite, it still took damage but not as much
''Vanillite Water pulse again'' Dan said ''And a Ice shard hidden befor it'' Dan whispered to Vanillite

Abel heard the call for a Water Pulse and was ready and waiting, he did not expect to see an Ice Shard come hurtling out of the slowly dissipating mist.
"Protect!" Again Darner shielded itself from harm and both he and Abel chalked it up to disobedience that an ice attack had come. Until the water pulse came flying out colliding with Darner and doing serious damage.
"Not bad" complimented Abel "although you should have called for the ice attack first and then whispered for the Water Pulse" he added, offering some friendly advice.
"You okay?" he asked Darner
"Trapinch!" replied the pokemon, climbing to his feet
"Sand-Attack again." Darner obeyed, hurling more accuracy-lowering sand into the face of the opposing ice-type.
"Now Bite!" Darner lunged at Vanillite looking to lock his powerful jaws around the floating ice-type.

The bite was a critical hit and the mist was lifted the battle field became how it was before.
''Vanillite use harden to endure the next hit''
But Vanillite couldn't do it as it was weakend

Vanillite was very nearly done and severely weakened, struggling to use harden. Abel saw the opportunity and took it
"Darner, use Bite on it the same way you did battling Aries!" Darner clamped it's jaws back down on the struggling little pokemon before throwing it hard onto the ground, leaving it a twitching mess and no longer able to continue the battle.
"Great job" able complimented Darner as he returned him before saying to Dan "thanks for the great battle, I'm going to go and heal Aries and Darner up at the pokemon centre. Thanks for the battle, I'll see you later okay?" With that Abel headed back around, and then into, the nearby medical building.

''See you'' Dan said and returned Vanillite to it's pokeball, Dan knew he had lost but he had found a new friend and Dan would most likely meet Abel again.

/\ Chapter 1 - Part 1 /\
Cassie Stevens

"Typical Cassie, always late", she muttered under her breath. She looked back at the town she had called home for so many years. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and small clouds floated in the air casting the occasional shadow on the town bellow them. Birds flew through the air, chasing each other this way and that, and the ocean glittered in the distance, waves crashing against the shore.
It made her sad to be leaving the small town, but also excited about the coming journey. Home would still be here after all, right? She could come back. It wasn't goodbye forever. It never was.

"Ri?" A small noise from her side caught her attention. Lex, her Riolu, was staring at her with quizzical eyes, as if asking what they were doing standing there. She smiled down at it, wearing a big grin. The dark grey and blue wolf pokemon was more than she had ever wanted, and she already loved him unconditionally. "All right little buddy! Lets get going, shall we?" The small pokemon happily responded, affirming his agreement. With one last look at the town she called home, she turned her back and headed out onto Route 1.

After walking a while, Cassie tugged off her backpack and inspected the contents once again, just to be sure. Food, sleeping bag, extra clothes, toothbrush, check, check, check. The shining surface a some pokeballs in one of the pockets caught her eye. She pulled one of them out, staring at it, then turning to Lex with a smile. "Well then, I suppose its about time to start training you, and start catching some extra pokemon!" Staring around the meadow, she spotted a couple of potential targets, a couple Cleffa, a few Sparrow, even a Togepi. She considered fighting a couple of them just for the training, but she wanted to get at least one other pokemon as a little insurance, and to give Lex an opportunity to rest between battles. And there was one pokemon in particular she had seen around here before she wanted.

Cassie, deciding to do a little searching, packed up her backpack, and headed off through the meadow, Riolu running around her like a small child. The pokemon brought a smile to her face once again. After about an hour or two, their perseverance was rewarded with Swablu cooed from a nearby branch, catching Cassie's attention. The pokemon regarded the two with interested eyes, then decided they were not a threat and fluttered to the ground and started pecking at seeds on the ground.

Cassie caught her breath, almost not daring to breathe in case she startled the Swablu only a few meters in front of her. Lex seemed to catch on to his trainer's tension, and slightly bent his knees, readying to jump into action. Speaking softly, Cassie muttered to her partner, "Lex, on three, use a quick attack. One. Two. Three!" On three the small blue pokemon became a blur and smacked solidly into the unprepared Swablu, knocking it over and stunning it for a moment before it wabled back to its feet. The bird pokemon chirped at them angrily, then growled at the Riolu, then launched at Lex attempting to peck him into submission. Lex, still recovering slightly from his quick attack was caught off guard, and put all his attention into ducking and weaving avoiding the sharp beak. Cassie, still unused to how fast battling went, stuttered for a second, wondering what to do. Then she quickly decided on a move, "Lex, use endure!"

Lex immediately planted his feet in the ground and weathered the incoming attacks, dodging some, knocking some others away, and taking the rest. The Swablu, now committed to trying to take down the Riolu, launched a Fury Attack, increasing the attack rate even further. This cant go on for much longer, Cassie thought. Trying to think quickly, she called out another command, "Lex, use a force palm to knock it down!" The Riolu swiftly obeyed, dodging under another attack, then using a force palm on the Swablu's body, knocking it back about a meter and stunning it. "Good!" Cassie called out, "Now just one more quick attack!" Once again Lex obeyed swiftly, charging into the Swablu once again, knocking it onto the ground and stunning it. "Yes!" Cassie cried out, then realized that she still needed to capture it and scramble around pulling a pokeball out of her pocket and tossed it perfectly. It bounced off of the Swablu's body, then the bird pokemon's body turned red and rapidly was pulled into the pokeball.

The red and white ball rocked softly on the ground, both human and pokemon carefully watching it to see what it would do...

Jason Wolf - Chapter 2 - Part 1

__________________________________________________________________

Team:
Spoiler:
Rook the Pawniard (Inner Focus) - Scratch, Leer, Metal Claw, Iron Defence

Mecco the Krabby (Battle Armor) - Bubble, Vice Grip, Hone Claws

As soon as he got the signal Jason rushed to grab thepokeball, and held it tight in his hand.

“I knew it. I am a head of the curve. Now to get a head ofthe pack.” Jason laughed in triumph.

Both trainer and pokemon ran off back through town onto thefirst route. Rook was easily able to keep pace as his trainer sprinted throughthe open plain. Jason’s boundless energy and drive were finally of asset.Having so much space open to him Jason could cover ground without having to worry about a return trip. He was free. He was living now.

Rook was not enjoying this area nearly as much. Being out inthe open left him wary, and on edge. It was his nature to strike from nowhere, and be gone into it again. Here there was almost nowhere to hide. Maybe a hillor rut was disguised by a sparse tuft of tall grass. Was this the sort of intimidation his prey felt when it wandered into his trap? Instead of having brush or a wall to hide behind he was in the open where anything was capable of seeing him.

Still the two carried on through the route. Neither wereinterested in prolonging their stay there. Jason wanted to catch up to theother trainers, and Rook wanted some better strategic ground. On the route theydid encounter a Clefa, but Rook was quick to scare it off after a few hardattacks. For Jason the route felt short, but for Rook all too long. Dew Town was a pleasant sight for the duo. With any luck here they would find the other trainers, and a perfect second challenge.

Jason was quick to head for the center of town to try andfind where the others may be. He was an entire day behind. By now he could havealready beaten half the gyms he felt. Rook would be a Bisharp, and Mecco wouldbe a Kingler. Everything would have fallen in place if he hadn’t held back, andwaited out that previous day. Jason wasn’t even sure what had stopped him theother day. He just didn’t go. He stuck around an extra night with his parents.

Cassie Stevens

The pokeball sat on the ground, softly rocking back and forth, the pokemon inside struggling for freedom. Cassie admired the Swablu's perseverance, but nevertheless the rocking orb stood still and let out a soft "ping" to inform that the capture was successful. "Yes! Nice job Lex, member number two of the dream team, successfully caught! Nice job!" She walked over to the pokeball where it sat on the ground and gently picked it up, savoring the moment of catching her very first pokemon. Staring at the pokeball, she spoke, "Well now, I suppose we should come up with a name for you, now shouldn't we?"
She grinned at Lex. "We should probably bring it to a pokecenter to be healed before anything, we don't want it to get hurt now do we."

"Ri-Riolu!" came the answer, the small dog pokemon obviously proud of itself. Cassie smiled at Lex. "Nice job buddy, that was a great fight. I am very proud of you!" She looked up at the sky, judging the position of the sun. Must have been just past noon or so, plenty of time to still make her way to the pokemon center in Dew Town and check the town out for a bit before finding some place to sleep.

"Well, come on Lex, keep up!" They headed off towards the town together, side by side. "Maybe we can get a couple more battles in before we get there, get you a little more battle experience." Lex happily expressed his agreement, bouncing up and down. A few miles and a few battles later, Cassie and Lex were looking down onto the small Dew Town. Cassie had been there a couple times shopping with her mom and dad, so she knew the city well enough to get around. Looking down at it from the hill the two were sitting atop of, they could see the bustling trading city, the inhabitants going about their daily lives.

A few minutes later the two were walking through the streets, admiring the various buildings, making their way towards the pokemon center. Like the pokecenter in most towns, it was relatively centrally located, and many signs throughout the city pointed to the pokecenter. Without difficulty, the two made their way towards, then into the center, out of the busy street and into the calm environment of the building. With a small smile Cassie stared down at her partner, and softly said, "Back into you pokeball Lex. Just for a little while, I promise." With a tap of the pokeball on Lex's head, the small creature grumpily receded into his capsule. Walking up to Nurse Joy standing behind the counter, she placed her two pokeballs on the tray provided on the counter, and then nervously spoke to Nurse Joy, "Could you please heal these two pokemon?"

Nurse Joy smiled at her, "Of course, it'll take a few minutes, I hope that you aren't in too much of a rush?" After Cassie shook her head, she continued, "I assume you will want a place to stay as well?"

"Yes please", Cassie replied, already starting to like Nurse Joy.

"Well then, here is your key card, your room is number 9. You can stay as long as you please!" After handing Cassie the card, she took the two pokeballs and retreated into the back room. Cassie took a seat on one of the couches in the center, relaxing her tired feet. She leafed through a few of the magazines, but didn't find any of them particular interesting. After discarding a few, she gave up. After a few more boring minutes, Nurse Joy returned her pokemon to her, and she once again looked proudly at the two pokemon she now was partners with. Her dad had always reminded her that pokemon and humans are equal, and that they needed to work together. She certainly felt that way looking at the two pokeballs.

She exited the pokemon center, letting out Lex, who happily hugged her leg, then stared around the town excitedly, exclaiming at this and that like a small child. She stared at him with a grin, "Right, so, what to do now?" She considered getting something to eat, but she wasn't particularly hungry, and she wanted to save her money. She decided to just wander through the streets, till she found something interesting.

Glyn Schaffer - Chapter 2 – Part 3

Glyn's team:
Spoiler:
Kilohertz (Swift Swim) - Bubblebeam, Supersonic, Rain Dance, Water Pulse
Mathilda (Sniper) - Leer, Growl, Peck

Glyn woke up from the bed that was way too comfortable for his own liking. The rays of sunlight shone through the window of the pokémon centre's room and glared into his eyes, barely peeking over the horizon at him. He clenched his fist around a bunch of his sandy blond hair, and puled them over his eyes like they were curtains. Not a long moment after, he sat up and tossed the blankets off of him. He got himself dressed, brushed his hair and his teeth, then made up his bed and left for the lobby. It appeared to him that Sid wasn't awake yet. He wasn't waiting for him in the lobby at least. The nurse joy on the other hand was already working her morning shift. Glyn assumed that his pokémon were going to be fit and well for the battle he had planned with the fellow Johtoite he met yesterday. He walked up to the counter and they greeted each other good morning. "Are my pokémon all rested too?" he asked. "Yes, we've taken excellent care of them. They should be fit and fighting ready," the nurse Joy replied. She went to hand Glyn the two pokéballs back that contained Kilohertz and Mathilda. Enjoyed to have his pokémon back, he minimised them and stuffed them into his pocket. He bid the nurse his thanks and he trotted outside.

Glyn normally woke up early, so he could jog during the hours of dawn. It did his mind and body good, and it was all part of his training regime in the swimming team. The tropical sun was warm, as it was throughout the entire year and mornings were typically drier than the afternoons when the sun vapourised the water at such a rapid tempo that one could almost set their clocks to the regular rainfall at that time of the day. The climate was strange to him the first year he went to Novia, but he since grew attached to the humidity, and a lack of seasons bar the wet and dry ones, and of course the hurricane seasons were frightening to go through, though they've never done substantial damage to his home town yet. He was used to all of it now.

He ran through town at his own pace. He knew Dew Town well enough. It was pretty small so he was already on the other side of town before he knew it, standing right in front of the high school that they decided would be best built in Dew town because it was slightly more centrally located than in Coriolis or something. They shared it just fine at least. Most of the people on his team weren't even from Dew. Maybe four or so in JV, and another two in varsity. "Glyn?" a familiar, throatscraping voice called. The unpolished voice that was characterised with cracks and tears of elderdom. In fact, it was his English teacher, mr. Lombardy. "Hello sir," Glyn responded. "How are you doing? You know school is closed, right?" the middle aged man asked. With each puff of his breath, the ends of his bushy moustache seemed to flutter along. He was dressed in a brown suit, with a white collared shirt underneath and a black striped necktie hanging down over the buttons. "I'm fine, I'm fine. And I am not here for school. I'm passing through Dew to take on the Novia league," he explained. "Oh, exciting to hear," he said. The insincerity burned off his tongue, slipping past his teeth that were yellowed from smoking cigars, "So you're leaving varsity be for this year?"
"Yeah, this has sort of been what I've dreamt of for years."
"Try to study while you're out, okay? Your grades have suffered from your passion for sports and competition. If only you had the same spirit in my classes, you would become an A-grade student."

Roll your eyes and smile. Just roll your bloody eyes and smile. Glyn thought to himself, though in an alternate universe he had both his hands around the pompous sod's neck, with his suit and his cigars. "Well, I need to go now. It was good to see you again, mr. Lombardy," Glyn lied. He jogged the other direction, away from the man and away from the campus. He gave him the creeps. Not too long after his encounter, he got back to the pokémon centre. Now he just needed to wait for Sid.

(Severely long post incoming)

// CHAPTER TWO : PART FOUR //
Sid Norm : Glyn Schaffer

"Huuuaaahoa... ah man... that was a good sleep.."

Stretching out his arms while letting out another yawn, Sid climbed out of the single bed, scratching his eyes. The mattress sure was comfortable; it had made Sid sleep even longer than he normally did. Lazily he searched through his bag and tried to find a toothbrush... unfortunately however, there seeemed to be none. "Aish, what bother! Gonna have to buy one from that vending machine I saw right outside..." After having a quick shower and wearing fresh clothes, Sid packed his bag and left his room, heading off towards the vending machine. Before he reached there however, he noticed a clock fixed above the machine. The time was 9:40.

9:40.

They had agreed to have a battle early, didn't they? Around at 9:15?

Sid realised he was nearly thirty minutes late. "Well, sh*t, I better get my arse moving then!" Putting his dental healthcare problem aside for the moment, Sid rushed downstairs and towards the counter of the Pokemon Centre, where some trainers were starting to leave themselves. "Nurse Joy, do you have my Pokemon?!" exclaimed Sid, not caring for what his breath smelt like. The lady just smiled and swayed at a tray with two Pokeballs. "Sid, isn't it? These little darlings have been waiting for about an hour now, but it's fine, no ones claimed them." Sid picked up Rocky and Alter with a grin before heading off to another vending machine to quench some thirst with some coffee. Not caring for his burnt taste buds, Sid threw his cup towards a nearby bin, missed and narrowly espaced the grasp of a furious janitor. At least the mocha had rejuvenated some energy into him.

Sid noticed Glyn standing right outside the PokeCentre, already waiting for him. Damn that guy woke up early to battle; Sid had barely woken up. With tactics planned and a confident look, Sid marched towards Glyn, a cheeky grin on his face. "I hope your ready mate, 'cause I ain't going easy on ya. Two-on-two battle in Route 1 - how does that sound?" he finished off his speech by slapping Glyn's back before awaiting a reply. He hadn't used Alter in battle yet, but it seemed pretty decent out there in the little brawl, and so was hoping to start off with it.

Glyn simpered. He knew Sid would come. Well. Knew. He was almost wondering whether Sid overslept, or whether maybe his night cycle had always been discombobulated. He did wake up early by routine to jog every morning, to stay fit for JV. Still, there the kid was, looking confident enough for the upcoming battle. "That's a good idea," Glyn said. He was twiddling with Tympole's pokéball, cross hatching the peasized container through the splays of his fingers. "We can fight the battle somewhere near water right? I mean, Tympole's aquatic. There's a brook not too far from here, kind of running along the edge of route 1." He drew a line in the air with his finger, visualising roughly how it ran respectively to Dew Town.

Near water. Urgh. Rocky would be useless, being part Rock. Sid was unsure if he should accept the request. "Err, I guess we can... not so much that we are fighting in a water field, but somewhere around the border I guess would be fine." Sid then threw Alter's Pokeball up in the air without warning, and let the Swablu out, "We could use my Swablu to scout the area for places like that if you like." "Oh, yeah, nothing like that. It's a stream that's about knee-deep and like a step and a half wide. I know exactly where it is," Glyn assured Sid. He had a rock type, didn't he? "It's just that it's not healthy for an aquatic to stay on dry land, probably, yeah," he scratched the back of his head. He couldn't wait for Kilohertz to evolve into a Palpitoad, so he wouldn't be bound to only letting him out when there was water near. He pointed in the direction whence the trainers entered Dew. "It's just this way," he beckoned and walked ahead.

Sid sighed, recalling Alter to it's Pokeball, and started following Glyn. His confident mood was still up but after finding out that Glyn had a water type Sid wasn't as sure of victory now. He just hoped that Rocky could just tank it out or something, or that Alter could beast the whole battle. Either way, Sid was looking forward to the battle. He turned his temporary frown into a smile and continued to walk behind Glyn.

The two trailed along, Glyn was sure to retrace his footsteps to the place where he caught the Spearow, Mathilda. In the back of his mind, he was quite worried whether she'd be so cooperative if he called her out. He hadn't bonded with her, so it was a gamble. Still, he was excited about his first trainer battle. he figured out what way he needed to go when he saw the rolling inclines. Those were near the brook, and he could visually imagine it to be somewhere behind. His accuracy wasn't that far off. In fact, he found the outcrop where he sat near by the bank of the meandering stream when he called Kilohertz out for the first time, fed him and encountered the wild Spearow, about 20 feet to his left. "See, it's not that deep."

Sid was still unsure but tried to clear unnecessary thoughts away; there was more important things in hand to deal with it. "Aish, it's a nice spot to battle I guess, good find!" With that, both trainers took their places opposite each other, Glyn obviously the one closer to the stream. Sid pulled out his Pokemons' Pokeballs and enlarged both of them, before playfully throwing them up and down on his hands, sort of like juggling them. "You ready then, Glyn? I ain't gonna be easy!"

Glyn took both of the peasized pokéballs out of his pocket, and tossed one of them into his left hand, clicking them to their larger baseball forms with the buttons in their centres. "I am as ready as I can get," Glyn said, "Now, Kilohertz, Mathilda, let's go!" He threw Kilohertz for the brook and tossed the left one, containing Mathilda, high up in the air. Their energies were projected from the containers and glowed until their natural colours rayed through and the whiteness faded, revealing the blue tadpole within the water and the austere-looking bird flapping her wings in the air. Mathilda's first reaction, free from her pokéball the first time, was to release a loud screech and fly directly towards Glyn. Clearly, she was still mad about her capture. "Wow, ease it!" Glyn dove away, "Look, if you wanna battle. If you listen, you're gonna get to blow off some steam in the fight," he retaliated. Still the bird kept her grim visage, a fierce glimmering glare at her trainer.

Clearly seeing the ruckus between trainer and Pokemon, Sid laughed out loud before sending out his two Pokemon into the air, "Rocky, Alter, prepare for battle!" Aron stumped his little four metal legs into the patch of grass while Swablu took to the air. Sid peeked over at the other side, wondering if the Spearow was ready to face his Pokemon yet. It still seemed mad at it's trainer for some reason, but the problem seemed to have been resolved temporarily. "I'll start the battle off then; Alter, Growl! Rocky, Mud Slap towards that Tympole!" Alter squeaked out a loud, piercing cry which distorted the air, making both Kilohertz and Mathilda forcefully drop their attack a little. Rocky's Mud Slap smacked Kilohertz in it's face, but the attack didn't do much damage at all; Sid was more hoping that it would at least distort the accuracy in the Tympole's future attacks.

"Blimey, Mathilda. We've already started!" Glyn stumbled up and he glared back just as bad at the bird. Like hell was he going to be defied by his pokémon. In fact, Sid commanded his pokémon to commence the attacks. The Swablu screeched out a deafening growl, that caused the air to waver like when a warm room has a window open and it freezes outside. The Aron kicked grits of dirt, earth, plucks of grass torn from the soil and sullied the Kilohertz's eyes. "Mathilda, use peck on Swablu! Kilohertz, try to use rain dance!" Glyn thought he could use Mathilda as a distraction while Kilohertz made his move. Granted, the Aron was still going to pose a problem, to the Tympole, but Glyn had a type advantage against him. And if he got this right then... Mathilda launched herself beak-first towards the Swablu, though the growl had diminished her fighting lust, for sure. Kilohertz tried to shake off the dirt and he flapped his tailfin around, swimming in circles, summoning his powers to make the clouds in the sky thicken and become dark grey.

"Good," Glyn thought to himself. Tympole'd be faster in the rain.

Sid couldn't help but have a fat grin on his face. So this was how battling felt like; the many experiences that his dad had tried to tell Sid was no where near the real experience he was having right now. Alter bounced off Spearow's Peck attack, taking in damage. "Hey, that hurt ya know!" shouted Sid, seeing his Pokemon get attacked for the first time. The battlefield was now covered with rain fall too, which worried Sid a lot; not for Alter because he would be fine, but rather for Rocky, who was already weak to water. Then he noticed something. "Rocky, use the sludgier mud to do Mud Slap and aim for that Spearow's face! Alter, hit the Spearow right after Rocky finishes!" Both Pokemon nodded at their trainer and proceeded to attack; Rocky dug in deeper to the wetter mud and was able to fling it higher towards the flying Spearow, who cried loudly before stumbling backwards in the air after being struck hard by mud. After clearing it's eyes a little with it's wing, he couldn't prepare to dodge Alter's Peck attack and so took in a direct hit right into the stomach.

Sid fist-pumped on coming up with a mini tactic right at the moment, but was nervous about leaving Tympole right in the open to do anything it wanted. "Please don't have a water attack..." muttered Sid.

Glyn looked on as the attack landed on the Swablu. Really, the bird looked like her fluff could catch up even the strongest attack, but that didn't mean anything to the Spearow's peck, that knocked the foe back quite a bit. "Y-Yeah, I am sure it must," Glyn said. The force of the attacks was not a joke for sure. The rush of the battle was a great feeling for him too. The same competetiveness everytime he went to one of the meets, captaining JV, then swimming for varsity next year, that exciting moment when everything was game and every stroke had to be rightly timed for you to touch the wall just right. Harder, better, faster, stronger. The droplets fell from the sky. Tympole's rain dance must have succeeded. Still, the factor made Aron's mudslap that much more potent, and in fact, with the mudpools forming, Aron tossed the brown sludge to hit Mathilda's eyes, the distraction opening up the opportunity for the Swablu to fly in and give the Spearow a reciprocal peck, full force, into her abdomen.

Kilohertz had ducked underneath the water, trying to shake the mud off of himself, while Mathilda got back onto her talons and had more trouble brushing the mud out of her eyes. "Mathilda, leer! Kilohertz, Bubblebeam!" Glyn commanded. The Spearow, using his feathers to wipe away some of the excess mud, mustered a horrifying glare, directed towards the Aron that had been pestering both Kilohertz and Aron with those mudslaps. He needed to get them to stop, before they'd completely ruin his chances at striking accurate hits. Kilohertz made the best of the intimidating act the Spearow put up by bobbing his head above the surface and puffing his cheeks, blasting a flurry of blue spheres. "Lower left! Lower left!" Glyn said with a shock when he saw where the orbs were heading. The Tympole needed to alter his course. Surely with half of his momentum wasted, Kilohertz adjusted his aim to fire the remainder at the rock type. "Come on, guys! We're gonna do it!"

The menacing glare from Spearow sure had took an effect on Rocky, who seemed to have been shook by it. "Knock it off, Rocky! It's nothing!" cried Sid, hoping that his Aron wasn't affected too much by Leer. A burst of bubbles had been put into play by Glyn's Tympole, but it was hopelessly off-target; exactly what Sid had wanted. As Glyn desperately tried to tell his Kilohertz where to aim it's Bubblebeam, Sid quickly responded, "Alter, use this time to use Roost! Rocky, run away from the stream of bubbles and try using Mud Slap while your at it!" Alter took off the ground and covered himself with his own wings while closing his eyes; a ball of energy suddenly surrounded Alter, and when it was over Alter raised himself up again, this time with a lot more energy. Meanwhile Rocky took off on it's little stumps towards the left and attempted to do Mud Slap correspondly. Although most the time it failed to hit any of Glyn's Pokemon, it did manage to smack the Tympole once.

Kilohertz's bubblebeam tried to follow Aron's movements. The iron armor pokémon moved surprisingly fast and as it tried to stay ahead of the approaching blue spheres, it kicked sludges of mud towards the Tympole. Dodging, dunking under water, and still beaming those spheres out of its puffed cheeks, he tried to aim for the Aron. "Mathilda! Use peck on the Swablu!" Glyn said. The energy emanating from the cloud-like bird glared into his eyes and it couldn't be a good sign to him. The Spearow fluddered up and rushed forward towards the Swablu. "Kilohertz! Keep the bubblebeam up!" Kilohertz jumped from the water, following along with the path of the Aron, as the spheres flew in their erratic patterns across the battlefield, a lot definitely hitting the rock-type, but a lot more falling short of their target, especially as the mud slaps made hitting the target more difficult.

"Urgh, keep going Rocky!" screamed Sid. The Aron was starting to slow down after a very suprising blistering start, and some of the Bubblebeam attack had started to hit him. Sid looked up; Tympole had been going on for a bit of time now, and so was looking more tired of constant Bubblebeams at directions it's trainer was pointing at. The Spearow had also looked a little tired after a Peck sweep on Alter, who still seemed strong after getting hit. It must have been that Roost then. Stretching his arms, Sid focused onto the battle and prepared for the grand finale; he knew he could win the battle in the next move. Rain was still heavily striking the ground underneath. What could Sid do to wrap the battle up?

"Bingo!"

"Aight, fly in and finish off Tympole with a Peck attack Alter! Rocky, stop and use Mud-Slap on that Spearow!" Alter swooped into Kilohertz's direction and struck it with Peck, making the Pokemon unable to use Bubblebeam anymore; this gave Rocky the chance to stop and target Mathilda, and so splattered the bird Pokemon with a huge amount of mud, more than Rocky anticipated - it was a critical hit. Mathilda fell down hugely from it's flight but it was still up, completely soaked in wet mud. "Rocky, finish the battle - TACKLE!" shouted Sid, fist pumping towards the falling Spearow, who then crashed into a body charge by Rocky, taking a full impact of the attack. Both Tympole and Spearow lied on the ground, face to face; both had been knocked out.

If you really did read this all, then a massive congrats from me, for I certainly couldn't if it wasn't my own post xD

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 2 - Part 5

Abel's Team
Spoiler:
Darner (Hyper Cutter) - Bite, Sand-Attack, Sand Tomb, Protect Aries (Keen Eye) - Peck, Growl, Sky-Attack, Pursuit

Abel walked out of the pokemon centre with Darner trotting happily at his feet and Aries safely away in his pokeball. Abel had had them healed after his battle with Dan and was now in a great mood not only having won his first trainer battle but also having found out Aries had learned the move Pursuit, an excellent tactical move.
“This is turning out to be an excellent day. A win, a new move and even good weather.”
“Trapinch!” the odd looking quadruped seemed to almost sing the word, happy at his victory. Abel and Darner walked through the centre of the small town heading for Novia’s Route Two.

Before long the pair, having walked by several trainers that looked quite familiar – probably more new trainers from Coriolis like himself, was walking along Route Two. Unlike the previous route, this one consisted of a neat but broad dirt path which was bordered by rapidly thickening foliage, primarily consisting of larger trees as opposed to the smaller species of palm trees found on Arcania. Bellsprout and Sunkern hid amongst the trees relishing in the sunny weather as Sentret and Electrike ran around in the grass and shrubs. It was certainly a lively route to say the least, a sight to behold when compared to the larger yet far less active Route One.

“Trapinch!” Abel was shaken from his thoughts by Darner’s warning but it was too late. His foot found itself on something soft and not long after and angry howl and several tiny fireballs flew up at his face causing him to dive to the side. The Vulpix, that owned the tail that Abel had stepped on (and five others), looked up at Abel glaring at him. Vulpix wasn’t a pokemon that Abel knew a lot about so he scanned it with his pokedex
“Vulpix, the Fox Pokemon. As each of its six tails grows its fur becomes more lustrous. When held, it feels slightly warm.” The voice programmed into the machine explained.
Well, a fire-type would be useful...
“Darner, are you ready to catch us a new team mate?”
“Trapinch!”

// CHAPTER TWO : PART FIVE //
Sid Norm

Current team
Spoiler:
Rocky - Tackle, Iron Defense, Mud-Slap, Hone Claws
Swablu (Alter) - Peck, Growl, Roost

A flash of light burst out of a thrown Pokeball, releasing an Aron out. Sid bent down and offered it a large, bluish berry, which was gladly accepted by the Pokemon. As it nibbled the fruit bit by bit Sid pondered his thoughts out loud inside his temporary room in the Pokemon Centre. "Man, that battle was intense; I expected the adrenaline to be pumping but that, that was something else. The thrill, the excitement..." Snapping out of it Sid noticed that Rocky had finished his Oran Berry and was lazily rolling on the floor on it's metallic back. Sid recalled it back to his Pokeball and picked up his bag. While locking the door and walking downstairs he thought more about the events of before. "Glyn seems like a cool guy. He claimed to have lived somewhere in Coriolis Town, right? Can't say for sure I've seen him before..." By that last word Sid had reached the exit of the PokeCentre. "He's a Pokemon trainer, so he must be also out to get all the gym badges, just like me. I wonder if we'll ever meet again. It's a small world after a-"

A small bump interrupted Sid's line of thought as he recoiled backwards. Since he was only walking slowly he only managed to slightly hurt his head with whatever he had thumped into, since he was walking with his head bent down. In reflex his hand swung upwards to scratch the small pain, but in the process his fingers slid across what seemed like texture of Denim jeans. Sid looked up. On his line of sight was a girl, around the same height as Sid. Her face was flustered as if someone had splattered red paint all over her cheeks, and she didn't look happy at all. Next thing Sid knew, the girl lowered her hand and in a flash clashed it towards Sid's face. As if for comedic effect the teen boy crashed onto the ground, his expression one of someone in huge pain.

"PERV!" called out the feisty chick.

"H-hey, who you calling a pervert lady?!" called out Sid, softly holding on his face, "I didn't mean to touch you there! It was an accident!" All the girl did was cross her arms and faced away in a look of disgust. Sid managed to pick himself up and dust himself down. "Look, it seems like we have gone off in a bad start. I didn't mean to... err, do whatever I did, it kinda just happened. My name's Sid; what's yours?" With his little speech finished Sid tried his best to look sorry and friendly by letting out a grin and throwing his hand forward for a handshake. The otherwise rowdy lass looked at Sid's hand with an unsure expression before letting out a sigh and returning his plea for forgiveness. "Well... I guess I can take it for an accident. I'm June Bay, and I'm a Pokemon trainer. Say, what brings you to this little town? Seems like not much goes around here, huh? Kind of boring. It doesn't even have a gym." Sid agrees with her; he only stuck around Dew Town for a night and except that battle with Glyn, not much had happened. "Well, I'm a trainer too, June, and I was just passing by here..."

After a few more minutes of small talk, Sid understood that June wasn't a native from Novia; rather, her family moved from Kanto when she was around ten, and that she was one year older than Sid. June was around average height at 5' 6" and wore a stylish cap which was adjusted in a way so that her brown hair and bangs popped out. Her long sleeve white tee seemed to have been manually cut so that it's red sleeves only went up to around 3/4 of her arm length. The Denim that Sid had "felt" was June's short jeans, and to finish it off on her feet June had white socks with brander sneakers. For someone who claimed to be a trainer, June only had a small shoulder bag to put all her stuff in. Sid thought how the hell she would manage to carry enough items for a journey in such a small space.

After a few more moments Sid realised that by now the clock had already struck 11:30, and he had been talking with June for nearly an hour. "Well, it's been fun June, but I really should be going now. Good luck on getting all your gym badges and the rest of your adventure!" Just before Sid tried to leave however June pulled his shoulder and brought him right back, "Oh, so you think I can just let you go like that after touching me back then?! Haven't you thought about paying me back for that?" What the hell what she on about? thought Sid; back then even she had acknowledged that it was just an accident. Before Sid could put in something June continued to talk, "I propose that you take me to the next town or city and travel with my until I get a badge! Of course, you wouldn't mind to be with a cute girl like me, right?" On his head Sid laughed at the arrogance of the girl in front of him, but he did think she was pretty. Plus, it didn't seem to trouble Sid at all; a companion wouldn't be so bad, would it?

Even with that thought, Sid tried to put up at least some resistance to her request. "And why should I accept? We both had before agreed that what happened was just an accident, and honestly, you would just slow me down." June reacted to Sid's last comment as if he had compared her to Snorlax, "Oh wait, first you feel me, and now you say I'M FAT? Now you're definitely taking me with you! Onward to Route 2, jerk!" And with that, June hooked her arm around the helpless Sid and dragged him to the exit of Dew Town.

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 2 - Part 6

Abel's Team
Spoiler:
Darner (Hyper Cutter) - Bite, Sand-Attack, Sand Tomb, Protect Aries (Keen Eye) - Peck, Growl, Sky-Attack, Pursuit

"Darner! Use Bite!" Abel's trapinch dived at the fire-type, attempting to close his large jaws around its small frame, but the nimble vulpix pranced out of the way and opened its mouth, releasing a barrage of tiny fireballs in the direction of Darner. The Ember hit Darner's side pushing him back and causing him to cry out
"TRAP!" Darner winced, sore from where the fire attack had hit him, but thankfully not suffering a burn. The Vulpix was quick to continue its onslaught, clearly a smart pokemon knowing it had the upper-hand as far as speed and agility were concerned; it launched a second Ember knocking Darner to the ground.

This is going nearly as badly as out first battle, but I can't keep up with it... I could switch to Aries but I don't know what good that will do just yet.
"Can you keep going?" Abel asked his partner
"Trapinch!" Darner climbed back to his feet more ready that ever to battle it out
"Sand-Attack!" Darner, changing approach, did as commanded and launched a spray of dirt at the face of the Vulpix who once again elegantly danced out of the way pounding Darner with more fireballs.
"pix" the vulpix was laughing now, enjoying the easy battle. It opened its mouth yet again but instead of an Ember it released a single, larger shpere of flame that engulfed Darner briefly, leaving him with a burn.
"Wonderful, it know Will-O-Wisp" groaned Abel, "Sand-Tomb!" Darner obeyed as always and a whirlwind of sand engulfed the opposing pokemon doing a decent amount of damage and trapping it within its confines. Despite being a weaker move, Sand-Tomb was super-effective against Vulpix and long lasting.

Vulpix responded with a yellow sphere that seemed to merge with the body of Darner. At first nothing seemed to happen, but it as Darner began to move it looked as though he had been out drinking for a few hours straight.
"Lovely, Confuse Ray too... Return Darner". In a flash of red the trapinch was back in its pokeball; the vulpix, still trapped in a sandy vortex, laughed despite wincing at the pain it was in.
"Fine, try to outpace Aries whilst stuck in that Sand-Tomb".

Abel released his spearow from his pokeball, to the noise of its fierce cawing. It was time for him to try a different approach.
"Don't attack, just dodge everything". The vulpix shot an Ember at Aries who easily avoided the attack, soaring in a loop through the air and taunting his opponent
"Spearow!" it seemed to scream at the fire-type.
I may need to work on his sportsmanship...
The onslaught of flaming orbs continued but the wild pokemon was taking damage from the sand-tomb which was making it harder to hit Aries. It launched an attack, Aries dodged, it launched another and Aries dodged again. The pattern continued until the sand-tomb vanished, leaving a heavily weakened vulpix in its wake.
"Got you, Sky Attack!" Aries began to pulsate with energy but was caught of guard by a sudden ember, being thrown back and losing its concentration - thus ending the move. The Vulpix then fired off a Will-O-Wisp at the temporarily grounded bird
"Out the way!" Abel cried out as the flame neared its victim. Thankfully, Aries rolled out of the way and returned to the air, narrowly avoiding the dangerous attack.

Realising it was no-longer fighting a winning battle the Vulpix turned and tried to run into the thick shrubbery
"No way in hell! Pursuit!" Abel had gotten too close and Darner had taken too much damage to let the Vulpix escape. Aries seemed to appear from nowhere as he sped towards the fleeing vulpix, colliding with its side and sending it sprawling.
"Now, Sky Attack!" Aries again began to build power as the vulpix began to struggle back to its feet.
Too late now was all Abel could think as in an explosion of white energy Aries launched himself at his target. The vulpix responded with another bombardment of fireballs but the Sky Attack was a far more powerful move, Aries flew straight through the attack taking very little damage and hitting Vulpix in a hugely forceful collision. The vulpix wasn't getting up again any time soon so Abel took the opportunity to throw a pokeball at it, drawing it within in a flash of light.

The ball rocked and Abel felt himself start to hold his breath, he had to capture the vulpix after that intense battle.

Tedder O'Rourke - Chapter 2 - Part 1

Tedder's Team:
Spoiler:
Aedan (Adaptability) - Quick Attack, Tail Whip, Work Up, Shadow Ball

"Aedan?" A boy with well-tanned skin called out to his pokemon, kneeling down to the dirt and looking closely at nearby bushes. The boy's name was Tedder, and the pokemon in question, or Aedan, was his Eevee. "Aedan, this isn't funny anymore! Come out, you little prankster!", Tedder continued to call out for the pokemon, now lying flat on his stomach and inching across the grass like a wild Wurmple. Aedan was Tedder's first pokemon, although not his first pokemon experience, and for an Eevee he was very much the prankster. At first glance, Aedan had been calm; reserved, of sorts. It was only once they neared the end of Route One that the new Eevee had decided to climb from Tedder's shoulder. Okay, so it was more of a jump to tell the full truth. Tedder had been reassuring the young Eevee that everything was going to be okay for them, that although he was Tedder's first pokemon of his own, he had dealt with Eevee and their evolutions before. Aedan had seemed receptive of the information... Key word: seemed. There had been a scurry in the nearby bushes nearing the end of the route, and it was there that Tedder lost Aedan. Literally.

Feeling silly now, Tedder pushed himself up from the ground, and began brushing the blades of grass from his brightly colored shirt. On this day, Tedder decided to go with a neon pink rather than his usual yellow or green, and at the laboratory for Professor Palm Aedan had not been shy in showing his displeasure with the color. That too was a task, as the young Eevee decided it would be more fun to run from the brightly-colored boy then it would be to have ownership. It was only with a bit of help from one of Professor Palm's assistants that he managed to catch the feisty little fellow. No matter how troublesome the young Eevee proved to be however, Tedder couldn't find it in him to get mad... No, he had spent so much time around the evolutions as a young boy that he had grown quite close to his Eevee in a relatively short time. Pest or not, Tedder was going to be sure his Eevee felt loved. If he could find him that is.

"Ee-eeveeeee!"

Tedder shot a glance in the direction of the Route One exit, noticing that Aedan was in a full sprint towards the "Welcome to Dew Town" sign. They were that close? Following his pokemon, he noticed that the reason for Aedan's fleeing had been a grounded (and very angry) Spearow. The wild pokemon did not seem to notice Tedder, much to his surprise, and so he continued his pursuit of his pokemon. Ringing in his head was the sound of Aedan's cry, the pokemon sounding nothing short of terrified. Luckily for Tedder however, the pokemon did not have an outstanding amount of endurance built at the moment, and was he was thus able to catch up to Aedan just as they reached the entrance to the PokeCentre. Reaching down and scooping the terrified Eevee up, Tedder squeezed the pokemon tightly to his neon shirt and covered the poor fellow's eyes. He knew that Aedan didn't like the brightness, sure, but that had been a rather close call... Like it or not, he was going to squeeze the pokemon all the way to the front desk with his first formal meeting with a one Miss Nurse Joy.

"Hi, Nurse Joy?" Tedder stuttered out, loosening his grip on a now-coughing Aedan. "I don't think he was hurt any, but could you please do a quick check-up on me Eevee here, and make sure he is okay anyway? He got spooked in the woods of Route One, and I noticed a wild Spearow chasing after him... I just want to make sure he is okay, ma'am." Tedder placed his Eevee on the counter, pulling a pokeball from his belt loop. "Eevee, re-... Oh Aedan, I'm so sorry!" Tedder again reached down and hugged the pokemon, offering one last squeeze before recalling him to his pokeball. "Take good care of him, please. He's all I got."

Tedder stood at the counter just long enough for Nurse Joy to assure him that Aedan was safe in her care, and also to secure a room key for a bed upstairs. Apparently all the other trainers had made it before him, not that that was much of a surprise for Tedder. He liked to take things slow, so if it meant being the last to get to Dew Town... Well, it just meant being the last to get to Dew Town. Taking a deep breath, Tedder noticed that there was one other trainer that seemed to be dragging into town. He tried not to stare, not that he could anyways through the door of the PokeCentre, but he was indeed curious to find out who they were. He had recognized most of the people at Professor Palm's lab, but there had been a face or two that wasn't as familiar as the rest. This trainer included. As much as he wanted to stick around though, a good walk seemed more up his alley for the time being.

Tedder did not stare as he exited the PokeCentre, but he did notice the starter for this trainer was an Oddish. "An Oddish, how cute!" Tedder thought to himself, although moving past the pair in a rapid fashion. There was so much left to think of, so much left to think out. Aaren had always been there for him when he needed him and although he was only a phone call away now, things were going to get a lot tougher for him. Here he was, his first pokemon, and the start of their journey together could not have been more eventful had he tried. Sure he was nervous, and sure he was having a hard time adjusting to being Eevee's one and only, but it would be okay... Right? It wasn't as if he had done anything wrong per say, but he could have kept a better watch on Aedan. This was his first journey out of Coriolis, right? It wasn't the first for Tedder, as he had just moved there within the past year, so he should of been more composed for his pokemon. Oh, poor Aedan... From here on out, Tedder promised to himself that he would be better. Stronger. If for nothing else or for no one else, he owed it to his companion.

"You can do this, Tedder... You're going to become a pokemon master..."

Glyn Schaffer - Chapter 2 - Part 5

team:
Spoiler:
Kilohertz (Swift Swim) - Bubblebeam, Supersonic, Rain Dance, Water Pulse
Mathilda (Sniper) - Leer, Growl, Peck, Aerial Ace

Glyn was back at the pokémon centre. Waiting by the counter to rest his pokémon again, after the intense battle with Sid. He was not all that disappointed having lost his first battle to a trainer like him. Even with his advantages in typing and witty combinations of attacks, Sid's pokémon were too strong to be defeated. That said something. Surely it must have been in the Aron's genes. He was bred from a top-class Aggron after all. He witnessed some motion in the corner of his eye when the nurse Joy returned with his two pokéballs, all healed up. He bid his thanks to the nurse and got his pokémon back.

Sid was in the lobby too. Apparently, he got scolded by this girl, trashed his face, and accused him of being perverted. Glyn in fact had seen her before. He sorta remembered them being in the same classroom with English, Geography, and Mathematics. Personally, Glyn thought she was a total word-one-should-not-mention. He twiddled his fingers, toying with the thought of intervening, but not wanting to disrupt a good show, and she was relatively harmless anyway. They talked and talked and then she emotionally blackmailed him into escorting her through route 2. The poor sod.

Glyn flicked his hand at his once-brown hair to open their curtains and chose to proceed his journey. Out the sliding doors he went and a quick look around. Neither June, nor Sid, nor Lombardy were around. June and Sid because she went in a rush to drag the pitiable kid over to the exit of Dew, and Lombardy because he was probably, like, crawling over the walls with suction paw pads like a lizard, and peering down at him with a pair of scornful eyes. Something like that.

Glyn paid a last visit to his high school. He didn't know the route out of Dew very well, so he just wanted to envision the last familiar thing he could see before his journey really began. In hindsight, had it not been for his awesome battle with Sid, this stay in Dew would have been as uninspiring as any other time he went here for school. He really hoped he could battle him again to even the scores. He'd have to train a lot more, though, to face up against a pokémon with a fearsome lineage. He stepped closer to the iron fence gate that was locked when school wasn't open. The classroom windows looked deserted. The lights inside were turned off and the tables looked unused. It carved quite a forlorn picture in his head. The ash grey slab was hardly a sight to look at. The yard in front of the school bore no life. It was just a single, unbroken layer of concrete, with a few wooden benches. The brown of wood might have been the only colour in the picture.

Desolately, he pocketed his hands and continued walking up to the exit. He should hit for route 2 now, he figured. He went past a small street. The homes were pretty modest, and they were designed to cope with the climate of Novia. Large verandas, and raised floors on stilts, with hip roofs and most of them used wood as their main material for the walls, painted in a variety of colours. He saw one of his varsity team members sitting on a rocking chair on the veranda, wobbling up and down and sorta trying to pull of the look of an old country man or something. He was a small-built kid, had brown hair, styled with a pot of gel like a porcupine. He looked up from his newspaper and noticed Glyn. He stuffed the paper away, jumped up and ran over to Glyn. He sure was a bouncy kid. Glyn remembered that. Bloke's name was Joey, lived up to his name. Glyn swore that the kid must've ADHD or something.

“Oi, Glyn! What're you doing here?” Joey bounced.
“I'm gonna take on the Novia league. I was passing through Dew just a day ago,” Glyn replied.
“Dude, what about the swimming team?”
“I'm sorry, bro. I am guessing you'll have to survive a year without me.”
“What? We're gonna miss our ace card in the relays?”
“I am sure you'll find someone to replace me, right?”
“I dunno, man. Lansky's gonna be so pissed.”

Donald Lansky was the captain of varsity. He was a burly dude, about as tall as Glyn. He always had a hawkish appearance on him, and had a fearsome physique, like he was 3 years too old to really be in high school or something. He was just that big and toned. He kinda had a tendency to refer to the entire team as “my boys”, and if you drew a sleight against one of his boys, you were in trouble with the whole team. Glyn didn't like Lansky.

“I really don't care.”
“You wanna come over for a drink before you go?”
“Really? That'd be nice,” Glyn beamed. It had occurred to him that he hadn't eaten anything yet today. And his stomach growled at him for his neglect to feed it.

Joey led Glyn into the home, up the steps onto the veranda and through the front door, that was left ajar. Joey could simply not stop bouncing all over the place when he led him to the living room. “Your parents are not at home?” Glyn asked. “They're out working,” the voice responded from the kitchen area. Glyn wobbled on the soft brown cushioning of the couch. The living room wasn't very big, but at least it wasn't unbearably warm or humid, because the AC ran at full power. Glyn listened to the whizzing sounds and stared at the black TV screen. He also heard the sound of carbonated drinks being poured into two tumblers and Joey returned to put them on the low table.

“So what kinda starter did you get?” Joey enquired. His tongue was fast.
“A Tympole, I named him Kilohertz.”
“Water types. Shoulda guessed, mate.”
“I also caught a Spearow the other day. I named her Mathilda.”
“That's cool. So you just catch your own pokémon like that and all. And you're going to take on the gyms and compete in the Novia league?”
“Yeah, that's the plan. Just like my brother.”
“Would you ever want to battle him?”
“If I could, then maybe. He's got 9 years more experience than me though.”
“Do you know where he is now?”
“I think he's touring Hoenn last time we've heard of him.”

Glyn took a sip of his coke. The two discussed the future of varsity some more. And hypothesised a possible downfall of the team's held records with Glyn not being there to back everyone up. They took the piss at Lansky's “Watch for your boys” policies. Essentially, it was a regime of terror running down the school, with Lansky being like the godfather, and Glyn and Joey associates. They chuckled at the idea, and in half an hour, Glyn bid Joey farewell.

“Give 'em hell, bro!”
“No problem.”

He waved goodbye and left through the front door and off the veranda. He took a left turn down the street and continued to the exit to route 2.

Ryan Williams - Chapter 2 - Part 7

Ryan's Current Team

Spoiler:

Bret, Oddish

(Chlorophyll)
  • Energy ball
  • Sunny day
  • Poison Powder
  • Absorb

"Oi, wake up, Bret. We're there." Ryan gave a slight shake to his backpack, where the Oddish was sleeping. As much as he hated to do this, he had to. Bret, as usual, had fallen asleep from exhaustion, and had been napping the whole afternoon. Waking him up would mean having to put up with his hyperactive behavior for the next 12 hours, and another sleepless night.

He had to wake him up, though. Bret would automatically ask for food upon reaching Ryan's line of sight, and ironically enough, despite knowing it, he hadn't brought any berries or poffins along. Still, he had to buy some at Dew Town's PokeMart. He couldn't leave Bret starving, after all.

The bag shook and moved a little on his back, as the Oddish slowly woke up from is elongated nap. Then, like a volcano coming to life, Bret bounced out of the backpack onto Ryan's head, and then in front of him. Bret was squeaking with joy as usual and sticking out his tongue, in a dog-like manner. Ryan stopped and sighed.

"Odd!" he squeaked, looking at Ryan, obviously expecting something from him.
"Calm your weeds down, Hitman, I don't have any food - " he emptied his pockets.
Bret frowned at the statement.
"- yet. We're just near Dew Town, and we'll buy some food there. Kapeesh?"
Bret seemed reassured by hearing the word "food" again, and turning around, he rushed towards the Pokemon Center where a PokeMart vendor would be selling items and food. Ryan, of course, had to run behind to not lose him.

"I don't wanna think of how fast he'd be if it was sunny today." he thought to himself. He probably would have lost Bret by then if not for the Oddish's amazing ability to always find Ryan, despite having no nose to smell.

On his way to the center, he crossed what seemed to be another trainer. He knew the stranger was a trainer, despite having no Pokemon, because he had recognized as a trainer sent by Prof. Palm. Even Bret stopped for a moment, as he did for every person he met twice or more, before speeding off again.

After a few minutes, they had reached the Pokemon Center, where Bret was impatiently waiting on a counter. Ryan sighed, and giving a few coins to the amused vendor, bought 2 Pecha berries for Bret. The Oddish swallowed the two berries together in whole, and burped, content. Seconds later, he had decided to explore the center and every person there.

Ryan shrugged, being used to such behavior from Bret, and allowed him to do so. Meanwhile, he went to book a room, and take his keys from Nurse Joy. As he waited in line for another trainer to finish, he looked around, and noticed many of the trainers there were also from the lab, not only the one he had met earlier.

Tedder O'Rourke - Chapter 2 - Part 2

Tedder's Team:
Spoiler:
Aedan (Adaptability) - Quick Attack, Tail Whip, Work Up, Shadow Ball

Tedder had only been outside for a brief few minutes, but the nighttime air was all that he needed to recover from his woes. There was a lot that he had left to still figure out, more then the usual, but things were still okay. Things were going to BE okay. Aedan, although rebellious at this point, was by no means a bad pokemon. He was young, and a certain playfulness is to be expected in a pokemon. Let alone an Eevee. Tedder was not raised to be a quitter, nor was he raised to be obscure. His mother and father were both fearless, respected, known people in the world of diving. They had built themselves a legacy in Cerulean City of Kanto for a reason, contributed countless dollars to a Cerulean Gym that was once nearing a closing, all so that their children could have something to look back on. Something to be proud of. Would Tedder's parents be happy if Tedder gave up? Would they be understanding with his saying training is " way too hard?" Surely they would understand, right? Tedder was never the kind to go out and make friends, let alone go out on some kind of mission to be a "pokemon master". No, he was just meant to dive with them, just as his parents had. He wasn't the trainer type.

Except he was.

No, whether or not he had nerves the rest of his life, he was going to be a trainer. Working with some of his brother's pokemon, he had tasted a certain success that was indescribable. The nerves were just going to have to be a part of it all. There were going to be moments of jitters and anxiety, and there were going to be moments where he wasn't the best trainer out there. Anyone can lose on any given day, after all. To make a bigger point to one's self, Aedan wouldn't of came this far with Tedder had he not started to build at least some form of trust. Sure, he ran out of the forest and not towards Tedder, but with a wild pokemon coming at YOU... What would you do? Most would run towards the lights and towards safety. So no harm, no foul. It wasn't to be taken personal because that's not what a good trainer does. Nor what a great trainer does, for that matter. With every win comes success, but with every loss comes a lesson. Although this wasn't a loss, there was definitely a lesson to be learned.

"Uh-Hi-You there?"

Tedder was jarred from his thoughts, for the first time noticing that he had ran face-first into the window of the PokeMart. There had been a shooting pain in his face, now that he was awake from his thoughts, but nothing overbearing. The person that spoke to Tedder, or the woman rather, had a slight look of confusion on her face. Tedder put on his best smile, but to no avail. Whoever the woman was, she certainly wasn't pleased with Tedder's announcement of arrival against her shop window.

"You'll have to come back tomorrow if you want anything other than food", the woman pronounced. "If it is berries or snacks you are looking for, my nephew is inside the PokeCentre doing some late night sells." She again looked Tedder over, before offering her last two cents. "Sleep appears to be what you need, though. Don't stress too much. You are far, far too young a whipper snapper for all that foolishness!"

Tedder offered a small smile to the woman once more, and nodded his head. Gathering himself and his thoughts one last time, he walked the few steps back over to the PokeCentre and back to the side of his Eevee. He was pleased to see that, just as the woman had said, there was a vendor in the far right corner of the center that was selling berries and other assorted foods for the trainers. Another thing he noticed, was the trainer from earlier. Not just that, but the Oddish as well. His Oddish seemed friendly enough, the explorer type. Much like Aedan now that Tedder thought of it. Focusing his attention back towards the reason he came back in, Tedder was happy to see that a smiling Nurse Joy was waving him over towards her desk. Running a hand through his hair one good time, clearing his throat so he could speak, Tedder offered yet another smile. Feeling kind of smiley tonight, eh?

"You'll be happy to know that your Eevee is just fine, Tedder." Nurse Joy offered a small smile, placing Aedan's pokeball in Tedder's anxious hand. "I went ahead and did a full check-up on your Eevee, did some healing, but he was actually in very good health." She laughed, shaking her head. "Actually, if I am going to be honest he is in more then good health. He's also in really good spirits. A real comical pokemon, you have."

"Thank you so much, Nurse Joy. I appreciate it, seriously." Tedder gently pushed the release button on the front of the pokemon, a smile creeping it's way back across his face as Eevee appeared. "Ee-Eeveeeee!" The pokemon chimed, running full-sprint back to Tedder, back up his leg and up his shoulder. "Eevee..."

Sliding Aedan's pokeball back into his belt loop, Tedder now focused his attention on the rest of the room. For the first time, or at least one of the first times in his life, he was feeling social. Maybe it was due to the fact that he was tired of being the loner type, and maybe it was due to the fact that all the people he spoke to tonight seemed friendly... Either way, Dew Town was turning out to be a pleasant experience so far. His eyes scanning the crowd of trainers, he decided to approach the trainer he'd nearly took out upon his earlier exit. Truth be told, Tedder was intrigued by this one. Not in a threatening way, and certainly not in a stalking sense, instead it was mostly due to his pokemon choice. Oddish were known typically as unique, sometimes shy, pokemon that were either a real joy or a real pain. Not to mention, at least from what he had seen tonight the young Oddish seemed to have a good personality. Much like that of Tedder's own Aedan. Trying not to "line jump" any other trainers, Tedder cleared his throat and awkwardly tapped the shoulder of the trainer. Now THAT could go one or two ways...

"Hey, erm, I'm Tedder." Tedder looked to Eevee, and then back to the trainer. "This is Aedan, my starter pokemon." Tedder's eyes then found Oddish, again smiling. "Aren't you from Coriolis Town? If not, I apologize, but I thought I recognized you and your pokemon. Oddish has always been an interesting pokemon... Yours certainly seems friendly." Tedder shrugged, trying not to stare. "If nothing else he seems to be a handful, just like my Eevee."

Chapter Three - Chimes - Carillion Forest

You are now entering into one of the iconic rainforests of the Novia Region, Carillion Forest - a deep forest where mysterious chimes and bells hang from the trees. Trainers who traverse this forest often report unusual experiences.

The forest itself is beautiful, during the day time thin rays of sunlight penetrate the thick foliage and whenever the wind blows the mystical music of the ancient chimes and bells. A thin, neat but worn path shows the most direct route through the dense forest but many trainers choose to find their own way.

Mandatory Event - Whilst travelling through the forest the chimes and bells will begin to toll loudly, despite the air being still and for a second the world will seem to be a blur of colours and unidentifiable shapes. Soon after the strange occurrence will cease and everything will return to normal - perhaps one day your trainer will learn the truth behind this event.

Optional Event - You may have the opportunity to meet Professor Roland Knut who is doing research on the forest ecosystem. He believes the iconic bells and chimes of the forest pay homage to a legendary pokemon and that the pokemon living in the forest may provide clues as to its identity.

Wild Pokemon Moves - Wild pokemon encountered in this chapter have a maximum of four moves. You will be able to choose these moves from the first five available moves and egg/tm moves. There is a limit of one egg/tm move.

Note: Remember that you cannot enter this chapter until you have completed the requirements for chapter two. If inactive RPers fall behind and don't fulfil the objectives of chapter 2 they should contact me to sort out a solution, I reserve the right to drop RPers who fall behind due to inactivity.

You Must
Experience the mandatory event
Interact with a wild pokemon (this does not mean you must catch one).

You Can
Experience the optional event.
Encounter and battle NPC trainers.
Battle or otherwise interact with another RPer.

You Cannot
Move into the next chapter until instructed.

// CHAPTER THREE : PART ONE //
Sid Norm

Current team
Spoiler:
Rocky - Tackle, Iron Defense, Mud-Slap, Hone Claws
Alter - Peck, Growl, Roost

"Eh? There's a high school near Dew Town?"

Not long after the events of only a few minutes ago, Sid and June entered Carillion Forest, a mysterious woods with a reputation of trainers gossiping about it's strange and unique mystery. The thick foliage eclipses most of the sunlight and only a few rays manage to trespass the leaf net, making the forest as dark as any night could be. Soft breeze flew through the air in a swift fashion, swaying leaves calmly.

"Yup. It's a mixed school, and it's one of the few which doesn't just concentrate on Pokemon stuff, like Maths and Geography and other things. To be honest I kinda found that to be boring and decided to quit to be a trainer. I only started yesterday~"

The news surprised Sid. "Oh wow, same here. Did you get a starter Pokemon and a Pokedex through Professor Palm?" At first June looked at Sid with a confused face and a raised eyebrow, before facing away with a huge smirk, "Hmph, I don't need a stupid Pokedex to make me an amazing Pokemon trainer. I've got everything here," June started tapping her head as if to extend on her point. Sid didn't believe her; he just thought that she couldn't be bothered to get Coriolis Town or something like that.

"Wait, if you didn't get a starter from Professor Palm, then how do you have a Pokemon?" After Sid said this he extended his thought and pondered them aloud to June, "Do you actually have a Pokemon?" Sid was starting to doubt if June was a trainer at all, and that she just wanted someone to escort her towards the next town. The small bag, the confusion when he mentioned the Professor's name... it all made sense to Sid.

"Oi, I'm not lying, I AM a trainer," June said, trying to read Sid's thoughts, "I'm just not your standard one who was given a Pokemon to begin with. In fact-" Cutting herself from speaking, June stopped walking and searched her bag before bringing out several Pokeballs and throwing them in the air one by one, activating the capsule's unlock system and releasing all kinds of Pokemon around the duo, before continuing, "I grew up with them, and so they will be the ones to accompany me on my journey!"

Sid quickly looked around him, taken aback by the sudden presence of Pokemon around him. He took out his Pokedex and pointed towards all of them. There were five in total; a Squirtle, Rattata, Pidgey, Caterpie and Mankey. "All of them are from Kanto," Sid recited from his Pokedex, "I'm guessing you have preference for Pokemon from there because of your roots?" June nodded with a grin, glad that Sid had noticed the fact, "Ratty, Buggy, Birdy and Fisty have been with me ever since the time I was small and used to live in Viridian City, and Bubbly was given to me by Professor Oak when I told him I was leaving for the Novia region. We've been together for years and we'll one day become one of the best teams ever, right?" June glanced at her Pokemon with a wink and all of them jumped up with happy cries.

Sid took June's speech with a smile. It was cute how nearly all of her rooster was going to be Pokemon she grew up with, and made him think about Rocky and his and it's bond. Ever since Rocky hatched from it's egg they have been together all the time, and both understood each other well. There was however one question which Sid was curious to find out about, "You only have five Pokemon with you, so are you planning to catch one in Novia or something?" In the meantime that Sid was thinking June had bent down to play with her Pokemon, and stood back up again when Sid asked his question. "Well, at first I had planned to, yeah. But then I remembered a few months ago about a story my grandma had told me about the "spirit of the Viridian Forest"; Viridian Forest being a woods near Viridian City where I used to live," June added quickly after seeing confusion in Sid's face, "And she mentioned a Pokemon so rare, so beautiful, so mesmerizing that only a few in human history has ever seen it in real. Some even say it's the first Pokemon to ever co-exist, and has DNA of every Pokemon out there!"

"After remembering this you'll probably figure that me being me I researched further into the "spirit of the Viridian Forest", and after many hours I found a leaked image of it. My dream is to one day see this Pokemon and capture it to become the sixth member of my team!" Sid saw the passion in June's speech and was impressed by her determination, but was baffled by some of the facts that she had pointed out. Surely there couldn't be a Pokemon which had every DNA of every single Pokemon out there? It seemed impossible. "Can I see this leaked image then? Assuming you have it with you?"

"I do, in fact." June replied while returning her Pokemon and putting them away on her bag. After some fiddling around she zipped her bag and pulled her lower eye lid and stuck out her tongue, "But no, I'm not showing it to you." With that she started giggling girlishly and started skipping forward. Sid sighed and proceeded to follow her. "Oh boy."

Abel Rhodes - Chapter 2 - Part 7

Abel's Team
Spoiler:
Darner (Hyper Cutter) - Bite, Sand-Attack, Sand Tomb, Protect Aries (Keen Eye) - Peck, Growl, Sky-Attack, Pursuit
Grace (Flash Fire) - Ember, Confuse Ray, Will-O-Wisp

After a few seconds, which felt like hours to Abel (which seemed to be the norm when catching a new pokemon), the ball stopped rocking and a distinctive ding was heard. Abel couldn't help but let out a victory "whoop", he was only on route two but he had already successfully captured two pokemon.
"Nice work Aries!" congratulated Abel, making a mental not to thank Darner for his efforts later also. The Spearow squawked a thanks, well it sounded more like an acknowledgement than a thank you to Abel but he figured it was close enough.
"Now, lets see how our new team mate is going to react to her new situation." Abel released both his newly caught Vulpix and Darner, he figured his whole team should meet.
"Trap!" exclaimed Darner, realising that the rest of the battle had been a success, and already looking much healthier.
"Vul?" Abel's newer team mate looked around slightly confused before realising her situation and relaxing, accepting her situation with relative ease. Abel looked her over, he had named both Darner and Aries so it was only right to give Vulpix a name to distinguish her from the rest of her species also. He considered her elegance in battle, her beauty and the smoothness of her fur before deciding on a name
"I'm going to name you Grace". The Vulpix, Grace, looked up
"Vul" she then yawned and curled up to sleep, apparently what ever she got named didn't really matter to her.
What a strange pokemon

Abel decided that he'd have a quick lunch with his pokemon before heading off, although it seemed Grace would just sleep through it.

Ryan Williams - Chapter 2 - Part 2

Ryan's Current Team

Spoiler:

Bret, Oddish

(Chlorophyll)
  • Energy ball
  • Sunny day
  • Poison Powder
  • Absorb

Just as Ryan got his key, he noticed someone come up behind him. Assuming it was the next person in line, he paid no attention to them. Suddenly, he felt a tap on his shoulder, and he turned around.

"Hey, erm, I'm Tedder. This is Aedan, my starter pokemon." The trainer then smiled as he noticed Bret playing with a decorative plastic plant, thinking it was a oversized Oddish. "Aren't you from Coriolis Town? If not, I apologize, but I thought I recognized you and your Pokemon. Oddish has always been an interesting pokemon... Yours certainly seems friendly. If nothing else he seems to be a handful, just like my Eevee."

Ryan laughed. "Oh, my Oddish is friendly, that's for sure. Too friendly, sometimes. Has he disturbed you or anything? I apologize if he did." he said, and glanced at the Oddish. "Bret, leave that Happiny alone." The Oddish frowned and atuck its tongue out, and went to explore the upper floor of the Centre. Ryan sighed.

"Sorry. Bret -my Oddish- doesn't take orders too nicely. And to answer your question, yes, I am from Coriolis Town. I knew I had seen you somewhere, was it at Professor Palm's lab? It probably is. I recognize that look on Eevee's - sorry, Aedan's - face." He smiled. "Believe it or not, I was actually gonna take him as my starter! But then Bret showed up, and I picked him instead. But, it turns out he got a great Trainer anyway!" He looked at the Eevee which seemed content. "Oh, I'm Ryan, by the way. Nice to meet you Tedd-"

He was interrupted by Bret jumping into his arms, squeaking and trembling in fear.

The Oddish had made the Happiny fall over, and drop a few Pokeballs it was holding in a tray. One had opened, and an enraged Mightyena, which had violently been roused from its sleep, came out. The latter had begun chasing Bret, and was now barking in front of Ryan.

"Okay, okay, stay d-"

The Mightyena leaped forward at Bret, knocking both Ryan and Tedder over. Bret, who had jumped before the Bite Pokemon attacked, ran out of the doors of the Centre in fright, still chased by the Mightyena.

"Bret!" Ryan quickly got to his feet, helped Tedder up, and ran out to follow the two Pokemon.
