Hm…I don't know for you, but I would feel fine doing chores for rent. Probably because I'm a fast worker (I wash about 20 or so dishes in about 5 minutes), but I can understand not wanting that because if you're a slow worker.

Although, you have to appreciate her letting you stay over without rent. I know some Asian parents who would kick their children out the midnight of their 18th birthday because they got a B in 7th grade.

What's the pay? I don't care, but I want to be able to buy a car by the end of the summer.

…Anyways I have to wash the dishes on the weekend at my house :p

I'm a fast worker, but I need to be prodded into working, so keep that in mind.

I'm really good at putting test tubes into test tube bowls. It's one of those essential life skills that you really can't live without.

Thank god that someone invented the weekend.

This whole week has been FILLED with work. -sigh-

On a more positive news, it appears the girl who I'm (probably) going to ask to prom would like to go with me. So yay!

Not sure who this is directed at, but I went to school full-time, pulled a 95.2% Academic 12U average, worked 25h/week (walked 45min there and back, too), did chores and still paid 200-350$ in rent every month.

Ours was a SuperCentre. I actually liked working at Walmart, but it's true that their clothing quality is... really bad. And those memes of Walmart on Facebook about the lines / business / how many tils open? Totally true.

Schoolwork is real slavery, if you ask me. It's not routine and there's no ready coercion to make you do it. And there's no set time, just a lot of uncertainty.

Except it's government sponsored and doesn't produce anything usable! \o/

I don't know, I like learning, but I absolutely hate school because they don't teach it well, or at least in the way that I like. But some teachers I like because they're awesome and can actually teach!

Oh, I wasn't reffering to myself when I said that, I was speaking in general.

But now that you mention it, yes. :c

Photo project (WITH LIKE 200 PHOTOS), 10 page thesis paper, 3 page draft, 3 page essay to make up, 1 page paper on Hamlet, art still life, and something I don't even remember. They were supposed to be due today, but I somehow managed to get everything due on Monday. No idea how.

I was reading a few articles and there is literally no point to doing homework, as the cons of it far outweigh the pros. It kills the desire to learn/get educated, it only strengthens the desire to be doing more productive things with your life as opposed to wanting to do homework, and contrary to popular belief (at least, the popular belief of teachers) it doesn't teach students time management skills and all the other positives that are apparently attributed to doing homework regularly. The students are right: it is literally just a waste of time.

However if you make it into small bits and pieces, it's a lot more manageable and personally, it motivates me to do homework because I'm like, hey, if that's all you got, I can finish more of you guys! But the reality is that they assign huuuuuuuuge assignments and the teachers flip the kids off and say "you're on your own".

But the whole point of the article was to prove that homework is essentially useless, no matter how you choose to push through it. Naturally, this differs per school and per student, but there was a study in this article that showed that the grades between people who did do homework for a certain assignment only did marginally better than those who didn't do the homework. I've been trying to find this godly article for about 20 minutes, but I read it over a month ago and I can't for the life of me remember where it is :/
