And taking off of that, I suggest that you should use % margins, padding, etc. rather than px as much as possible.

Thanks guys for all the helpful advice and tips. I'm learning that I need to put more thought into my designs, figure out what I need and what I dont, if it will conflict with other things I need. I'm still far from actually doing anything worth showing, but I'm not making the design process similar to my coding process..
