An explanation and list of the rules that apply to Pokémon Anime.
Pokémon Anime Rules Before reading the rules for Pokémon Anime, be sure to check out the PokéCommunity's site-wide rules. Those rules apply to all the forums here at PC, but Pokémon Anime does hold a couple exceptions that will be explained below. The site-wide rules may be found here:
Linking to or uploading full episodes, soundtracks, and movies is prohibited. The PokéCommunity does not condone piracy and will not allow users to link to and/or upload such material. All posts containing a link to and/or attachment of full episodes, soundtracks, and/or movies will be edited to have the links and/or attachments removed. Repeated linking and/or uploading from the same user may result in more serious consequences such as infracting.
Linking to and/or uploading trailers, clips less than four minutes long, and individual songs is within the rules. However, it is advisable to link to safe websites such as YouTube and Anime News Network, or official websites such as TVTokyo, Pokémon TV, and Cartoon Network.
Please do not reveal where pirated content may be obtained. Even if it is not a link, a post containing the name of a website or method to obtain pirated content will be edited to have that information removed. Further posting of such information may result in further consequences such as infracting. If a user asks where to obtain pirated material, it is best to either say that it is against the rules to answer, or to tell the user to use Google, Bing, etc.
To be considerate to those who do not watch the Japanese episodes or keep up on the latest news, users are encouraged to put such information inside [Spoiler] or [Spoilertitle] tags or mark their threads with the
prefix. More information on the tags may be found in the PokéCommunity tag page:
Any event from any episode that has not yet aired in the English dub is considered a spoiler. Any news pertaining to unaired Japanese episodes, such as episode titles, CoroCoro leaks, TVTokyo trailers, etc. are also considered spoilers.
A thread marked with the
prefix does not need to have any of its posts marked with a [Spoiler] or [Spoilertitle] tag.
There are no serious consequences for failure to use the tags or prefixes (even if repeated), but threads or posts containing spoilers that are not properly marked may be subject to editing.
Contrary to the site-wide rules, double posts are allowed in Pokémon Anime. However, this does not allow users to spam and bump threads. If you want to keep a thread alive with a double post, please make the post meaningful and not just post "bump" or something similar. The rules for spamming still apply to double posts.
Please do not make two posts immediately after each other. Users who frequently make two posts within the same hour will be asked to stop. Continuous frequent double posting from the same user will result in further consequences such as infracting.
The double posting rule only stops at two posts. Making three or more posts in a row is against the rules and such posts will be merged into the first consecutive post. Further consecutive posting may result in further consequences such as infracting.
Stickies, also known as stuck threads, are the threads that appear at the top of the forum. These threads typically hold exceptions to the rules, and Pokémon Anime is no different. Aside from the DCC, Pokémon Anime's stickies do not have the thread revival and double posting rules applied to them, meaning you can post three or more times in a row as long as all posts are relevant to the thread and you aren't posting excessively.
The DCC, however, has the same double posting rules applied to it as the regular threads in Pokémon Anime.
Pokémon Anime Thread Directory Most of the threads here in Pokémon Anime revolve around a certain topic or piece of news. However, some threads are made for fun, as a resource, or to help people. You can find threads like those linked here in this post.
Simple Help / Quick Questions
This is the thread to go to if you want to ask a question about the anime that has a definite answer. Popular types of questions include what the name of a song was that played in a certain episode, what Pokémon were owned by a certain character, and various questions regarding special episodes. If you want to ask a question that doesn't have a definite answer (generally something that inquires an opinion) then creating a thread is the best way to go.
The place to go to for keeping up with the latest news concerning the anime. Trailers, episode titles, retailing, and more are what types of topics you can expect to find in this thread. Anyone can post their own bit of news, but citing sources is encouraged.
For all you shippers out there, this is where you can talk about your OTP or how viable a relationship between any multiple characters can be. Typically this thread focuses on current ships, but any ship is allowed and people are always willing to discuss them.
The catch-all discussion thread, this DCC (Daily Chit Chat) is where any anime topic can be discussed and allows for more casual conversation. This thread is not bound to any single topic and can also be used as a backup in case you aren't sure if a topic warrants its own thread.
