Psychic-type Pokémon ~ November 1 - 9

Welcome to the Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in Pokémon Voting Polls, where we aim to determine who PokéCommunity’s favorite Pokémon is! This will be a grand undertaking that will span across a couple of months, where we will start with hundreds of Pokémon, in hopes to rank the most popular Pokémon in the eyes of you- the members of the PokéCommunity!

If you haven't already, please read through the rest of the Rules/FAQ below to catch up to speed with what this tournament is all about:

  • Every week, there will be a new poll stickied at the top of PVP. Each thread will have a different elemental type, which will include a list of Pokémon to vote on.
  • You aren’t required to pick just one Pokémon- you can vote for as many as you like to ensure your favorites get through. The Pokémon with the most votes at the end of the week will face off against the other winning Pokémon in a final poll to crown the champion!
  • Not only will the winning Pokémon from each poll move on to the final vote, but they'll be featured in Pokémon Voting Polls' forum splash for a week.
  • In order to preserve space, we’ve grouped all of the applicable evolutions in a Pokémon family together. If a family rather than an individual were to win the tournament, we would hold one extra run-off poll to decide the most popular member of the family.
  • In the event of a tie at the end of the week, Brendino will have the tie-breaking vote.
  • Legendary Pokémon are not included in this round of voting. Don’t worry, though- they’ll be voted upon near the end of the tournament to round out the final number of candidates.
  • Furthermore, members who vote and post for a majority of weeks during the tournament will receive an emblem depicting the winning Pokémon!
  • If there are any questions that you need answered, feel free to leave a comment in this thread or send a VM to Brendino to get it sorted out.

NOTE: Only primary Psychic-type Pokémon have been included in this week's poll.
If you want to vote for a legendary or secondary Psychic-type, please check off the (?) in the poll, and leave a post with who you're voting for.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls will remain open until November 9th, so get voting!

I've been waiting for this poll for a while :3

My first vote goes to Wobbuffet because Jessie's Wobbu is my all-time favorite character in the Pokémon anime. Wobbu's antics constantly crack me up and I'm really glad that he is coming back for XY. I'm not a big fan of Wobbu in the games but I find female Wobbu's 'lipstick' to be really funny lol. I spent way too much time in Reflection Cave looking for a wild Wobbu :P

My next vote goes to Gallade. I'm not a big fan of the other members of his family but Gallade is pretty cool. Great design and cry and he's also part of DPPt's new evolutions, which includes a lot of my favorite Pokémon.

Last but not least, Malamar. My Malamar was incredibly useful in X. Not only did he sweep the Champion, he basically swept every Trainer in the game... All it took was one Psycho Cut and the opposing Pokémon would faint (unless they were Dark type, a type that resisted Psychic, had Sturdy, etc.). Contrary is also a really good ability because Malamar's stats were constantly increased by my opponents lol

This one was pretty easy for me as not too many Psychic types appeal to me. I decided to vote for Chimecho just because I love it so much. It isn't a very strong Pokemon but I adore it's little design and entire concept. It's a Pokemon that could really use another evolution and make that family even more epic.

Psychic compiles a lot of my fave Pokemon as far as looks go, so here's what grabbed my votes:

Most of the 5th Gen Psychics, my notable faves being the Munna, Elgyem, Gothita and Solosis lines along with Sigilyph. I loved their general designs plus they are strong special attackers.

Ralts line was one of the first Psychics I used briefly in R/S, and it gained an awesome Fairy-type (well all the line bar Gallade) so it'll definitely see some new niches in battle this generation.

And last but not least, my fave Psychics as of 6th Gen aka Espurr and Meowstic. Cute, adorable and I love Meowstic's gender difference concept of differing movepools between genders.

My favourite's actually Girafarig! I know it appears bland at first glance, but who doesn't love giraffes? There's just something oddly lovable about this little guy. It has an interesting type combo, can bend spoons like other psychics, hurl thunderbolts and send ice beams. Pretty extraordinary! And the name's fun to say. Girafarig. Try saying that ten times fast!

My second favourite would probably be Medicham. Its really fun to use with all those attacks. And its ability is probably the best out of any Pokemon. Double power? I'd take that any day. XD

I love it. I am obsessed with Espurr. It is my favorite Pokemon, it topped Espeon for favorite psychic type for me. It's cute and scary at the same time, but look at it. How adorable is that? :D
So far away we wait for the day,
For the light source so wasted and gone.
We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days,
Through the fire and flames we carry on!

Personally, I really like Espeon. Its body is quite simplistic, which I'm a big fan of. And the red gem on the middle of its head is definitely a nice touch. (: The weight of this Pokémon is very light. If you ever carry it on your arms, you'd never feel a thing. When it comes to competitive battling, Espeon can perform very nicely. It's got an ability known as "Magic Bounce," and with the help of it, Espeon could throw back any non-damaging moves that opponent uses on it, including Spore, Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Thunder Wave. This Pokémon's Special Attack stat is very decent, and after just one boost with Calm Mind, it could wreak havoc. Thanks to its Speed, Espeon makes a good dual-screener, too. Make it hold a Light Clay, and it'd be able to set up Reflect and Light Screen in no time! Currently, I have this Pokémon on my team in Y version. Thanks to help, I've been able to win countless amount of online battles.

I like Espurr as well. That Pokémon is such a cutie. <3 I love the way that it looks at you; it always makes me wanna hug 'em! I also like Spoink, but not its evolution, though. To be honest, I find Grumpig to be a bit intimidating. xD"

Voted for Sigilyph, Gallade and Solosis.

I'm pretty disappointed with the current tally of main Psychic types, I'd wished GameFreak created more... oh well.

Anyway. Sigilyph because of Stored Power and Magic Guard. Gallade because Ralts is cute and heaps useful in Pokémon Conquest.

Solosis because he is cute and also that Reuniclus is pretty nice with his Psyshock niche and good power + Hidden Ability.

There's so many Psychic Pokemon that I really like, it's practically my second favourite type right after Flying.

I've split my vote amongst a few lines, but out of the ones I've voted I think my favourite would be the Spoink Line. I definitely find Grumpig to be an underrated Pokémon with great potential, I really enjoyed using mine in Heart Gold which helped me out a lot in the Elite Four and beyond.

Ahhh, my favorite type. There are probably too many to vote for so I'll narrow down to my most favorite.

I'll vote for the Gothia / Gothorita / Gothitelle line. Gothic lolita Pokemon? I was there the moment I saw them.

I also really love the Woobat / Swoobat duo. Really silly and fun designs on those.

Then for my last pick I'll choose Baltoy / Claydol. I thought it was really creative how they came up with these Pokemon based on old statues that they have in parts of Japan. Really like the designs on them, too.

I voted for a real mix, but particularly went for Reuniclus, Alakazam, Sigilyph and of course Gallade, all because of their real badass designs. I like the fact that Meowstic comes in two colors. Gothita/Munna just don't look like a Pokemon in my opinion, and that's why I pass on that.
Boilurn, the Scald Pokemon and the evolved form of Hottle. It can burn the holder by the lightest of touches when it boils. It can boil 3 gallons of water in one minute.

Psychics types tend to be some of my least favorite Pokemon. Yup. So I voted for Kadabra because he was a pivotal part of my team in Unova.

My votes go to the Abra line, mainly because I love the spell that Abra, Kadabra and Alakazam make when you say them in succession as well as because Alakazam is a Psychic powerhouse. Reuniclus is also a favourite of mine (not much of a surprise.) I just love how squishy it looks. :3 Plus, its shiny is beautifully coloured.

I voted Alakazam/Espeon, with my favourite being Alakazam. I've liked him in my party since RBY, he's always been a solid complimentary piece for me.

The only Psychic Pokemon I was particularly fond of before Generation 6 was Espeon. Now it's a tough call between Meowstic and Delphox (question mark.) I voted for Delphox (Question mark) because even though it isn't primarily psychic, it is one of my favorite Pokemon in design, typing and battle. Meowstic (female) is cute but doesn't have much battle value to me.

A bit of a slow finish to the week, but nonetheless, we've concluded voting on your favorite Psychic type Pokemon! While 4 families of Pokemon managed to pick up at least 1/3 of the votes, it didn't take a mind reader to predict that your favorite Psychic Pokemon are...

As a side note, my sincere condolences go out to Mime Jr. and Mr. Mime- the only Pokemon not recieving any votes this week (which shocked me, quite honestly).

For the next round of voting we'll be looking to the skies, as we find out who your favorite Flying type Pokemon are! The new poll should be up shortly after this is posted, so I hope to see you all there!
