Note: This is an original take on One Piece. No characters of the series exist here. Some of the same places may appear again, but this will largely be a new story in the One Piece universe.

Plot

In a world where piracy thrives, many great and distinguished foes of the Marines would emerge to challenge their rule. Yet none was quite as prominent as Morris D. Rallo. Rallo commanded the King Pirates, who were considered to be one of the great pirate crews of all time. Rallo was the Captain, and he was the Pirate King. This was acknowledged by everyone (pirate or navy), and anyone who challenged him always met the same fate. Rallo would gain allies and territory all across the sea, but most especially in the Grand Line. Eventually, Rallo controlled or was allied with half of the territories of the world. This frightened the World Government, which saw Rallo as a genuine threat. But they also feared challenging him, because if they lost, there was no telling what would happen to the balance of power.

This all changed when a strong-headed new Fleet Admiral was elected by the name of Bronso Kanaru. Kanaru was said to be fearless, impulsive, and instilled with a powerful sense of justice. He couldn't sit by as so much of the world sat under the control of a pirate. With that in mind, he started a brutal campaign against Rallo. It began as smaller strikes against his allies, but then escalated to targeting everything connected to him. The World Government, with Kanaru in the helm, declared war on the King Pirates. And with the two sides having footing in most of the world, but particularly in the Grand Line, very few places were safe from the conflict.

The campaign by Kanaru lasted for nearly three years, but after a brutal effort, Kanaru finally cornered he who was thought to be undefeatable. In a climactic battle off the coast of Muerta (an island deep in the Grand Line), the Navy managed to destroy the flagship of the King Pirates, the Great Royal. Rallo, along with most of his crew, was also said to have been killed in the final conflict. The only known member said to have survived was Rallo's first mate, Alexander "Throne" Sivers. Sivers was taken alive, and was held in captivity for weeks, so that he would be publicly executed as an example. This would usher in, as Kanaru suggested, "The End of Piracy".

What happened instead was something they didn't foresee. At the execution grounds in Loguetown, Sivers spoke his last words. To the gathered crowd which poured from not just around the city, but from all over the world, these were the final words of Alexander Sivers.

"This is the end of the King Pirates, but it's not the end of piracy! No, it's just the beginning! You want fame? You want treasure? You want land? You want freedom? You want One Piece? Go out and take it! The world is open to you!"

Every pirate heard his message on that day. Indeed, the era of the King Pirates was over. But just creeping out over the horizon was a new era which would see piracy exponentially rise. With half of the world, including most of the Grand Line, now up for grabs, pirates set sail to gain territories, to seek their fortunes, to make names for themselves, and to find the true meaning of freedom. The Golden Age had begun.

You

It has been a week since the execution of Alexander “Throne” Sivers, the right hand of the Pirate King. His last words had stirred something in you. Whatever your reasons, you are a pirate in Loguetown about to head off to the Grand Line. Here, you will find a crew, find a ship, and begin your adventure!

Rules

  • All RPC and PC rules apply.
  • No godmodding or bunnying, unless given permission.
  • This RP is rated T for Teen.
  • Have good grammar and spelling, as well as correct length in posts. We might require RP Samples.
  • Only one character is allowed per person. NPCs are for the GM's use only, unless specific permission is given.
  • There is an unlimited number of reservations. However, this is not a first come, first served RP. Character Sheets will be open for about a week or so, depending on interest, and then decisions will be given then. So really, there are no reservations, but you can still reserve. Yes, this rule is very confusing. Just ignore it. Actually, don't ignore it. You'll just get bonus points for pointing it out. And a cookie. Devil Fruit cookie.
  • Keep on track with the storyline. Making your own subplot is fine, and we will be as accomodating as we can with free reign within each new place we visit. Just keep in mind that you don't derail too far from the main story. If you do so, we may choose to remove you from the RP.
  • Try to post at a reasonably consistent basis (based on the progression of the RP, of course). Obviously, your life takes priority, so if you know you are going to be absent, away, or unable to post for whatever reason, please let us know somehow so we do not drop you from the RP.
  • Because of the RP, it is more than likely that characters will confront each other in combat. If/when those instances should arise, we expect maturity and poise in dealing with the way a fight should end up, whether by pre-agreement or general RPing etiquette.
  • One of the most important things to do in this RP is to have fun. Arguments will not be tolerated (this is not to say that discussions are not allowed, in fact they are encouraged), but generally impeding the ability of one or others to have fun in this RP will be ground for said person to be removed.

Appearance: (A picture would be preferable as we would use it to create a wanted poster, though a description may also be given)

History:
Devil Fruit/Equipment/Weapon: (Whether a Devil Fruit user or not, list what abilities/equipment/weapons your character possesses. Try to describe it in some detail, especially if its non-canon.)
Goal/Dream: (Something every character should have. This can be anything that he/she strives for, or something he/she wants to achieve. For example, in One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy wants to become the Pirate King. Roronoa Zoro wants to become the world’s best swordsman. Be creative here!)
Other/Quirks: (In One Piece, almost every character has a strange quirk that is apart of their character, a ‘thing’, if you will. For example, Zoro has his terrible sense of direction. Nami has her love of money. Brook has his bones jokes. Franky has his catchphrase “Super!” and pose. Not required, but recommended.)
Current Bounty: (Because we’re starting off in Loguetown, it is alright to already have a bounty, though it is not required. If you do choose to have one, please make it below 50,000,000 beli/beri.)

Supervegeta's character: Tristan D. Kuzo
Spoiler:

Name: Tristan D. Kuzo
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Epithet/Nickname: “Red-Fist”
Appearance: http://safebooru.org//images/606/090...dcf7866273.jpg

Personality: A man with a quiet ambition. When Tristan D. Kuzo’s story will have been fully told, that would be one of the many ways people would describe him. He isn’t a loud man by any standards, a contrast to many of his profession. Yet to say he is quiet is also not true. He has a calming way of speaking, but is somehow able to get a point across nonetheless. When he speaks, people tend to listen, if only because while he doesn’t speak excessively, when he does speak, it’s always with some purpose of point behind it. To also say that he has no motivation or will that drives him is also untrue. In fact, he probably has an ambition higher than most, though unlike others, he doesn’t need to scream and shout to prove that he has one.

Kuzo is a man therefore thought to be a cheerful and relatively carefree person. He is not cruel like many other pirate captains, nor does he seek to rule his own crew through fear or cruelty to gain respect. Instead, he would view his fellow crewmates as friends and fellow pirates of the seas. Kuzo is not often angered easily, though he would become angered, and often take up arms against anyone who would threaten his crew, or their goals and dreams. Of his crew, though he champions the idea of freedom, he does expect a certain level of restraint from them, such as not excessively harming innocent people, and also to spare those who can no longer fight. He detests unnecessary killing, especially of innocent people, and would often see the need to take action against those who would do thus. Yet he also might see the need for restraint in certain cases where action might make the situation worse. He doesn’t believe in complete lawlessness, but rather in complete freedom, in the idea that anyone should be able to pursue their goals and dreams.

Kuzo’s love for adventure is one of the motivations for his life of piracy. He loves going new places, seeking new concepts and ideas, and finding treasure in far away, dangerous lands. For this reason, he views change as a good thing, as he doesn’t like things to stay the same for too long, such as scenery. This naturally lines up with his goal, as he doesn’t truly know what he wants, so too his is willing to try whatever until he finds it. What he does know is that what he seeks mostly resides along the ever-changing, impermanent waves of the ocean, particularly in the Grand Line. It is the unknowing which excites him. He loves the chance to seek that which he can’t know or predict. Piracy offers the best of this, the chance of constant change and the promise of adventure. Because of his love for adventure, though, he can be a bit impatient and impulsive with his decision-making.This won’t come as obnoxiously loud or intense commands, but rather restrained, calm excitement rising in his demeanor. He will suggest to go somewhere or do something, and there’s not much that people can say to talk him out of it.

History: Even from the earliest memory Kuzo could remember of his life, he already occupied the Blue Paradise Orphanage on Mayako Island. He never knew he had a father or mother. He never knew their faces, their names, nothing. He only knew his own name, the result of the letter given to the orphanage when he was left there as a baby. From then on, he would stay at the orphanage, his only company being his caretakers and the other children there. Mayako Island itself was pretty plain. It was tiny, the size of maybe a city, though only a portion of it was even populated by people, what is known simply as Mayako. Besides the town, there was nothing much else going on around the island. It had suitable vegetation, so the need for supplies was limited, thus ships didn’t really pass through here. The town was also too small to really have anything worth of value, so pirates and bandits usually would pass over it as well.

In fact, the island wouldn’t even be big enough to have a marker on a map, and it wouldn’t have any memory in the mind of people, if not for its one claim to fame. The island was the birthplace of Alexander “Throne” Sivers, the Right Hand of the Pirate King. In fact, Sivers was said to have grown up and stayed in the same Blue Paradise Orphanage when he was a child. This might have been a minor detail in an otherwise nameless island, but for Tristan D. Kuzo, it was his only source of pride he held to where he grew up, and his biggest influence in wanting to become a pirate.

Kuzo stayed within a certain circle of friends, all of whom wanted to one day leave the island as well, same as him. There was Vyne, Koan, Bart, Marienne, and Kuzo. Vyne and Koan were the oldest of the group. Bart was a year younger than them, and Marienne was a year younger than Bart. Kuzo was the youngest of the group, being two more years younger than Marienne. He was the runt of the group, and it took him a while before he was finally accepted as part of them. Even then, it was only because of Marienne that he was ever able to be with them. Koan, Vyne, and Bart didn’t want anything to do with Kuzo when he was ten and they were already teenagers. Yet Marienne, Vyne’s younger sister, insisted that he be allowed to be apart of them. They eventually accepted, but Kuzo always felt like he had something he had to prove to them.

The group were distinct because all of them wanted to leave Mayako Island and embark on the sea, but all of them had different purposes for doing so. Bart wanted to become King of the Pirates. It was his goal ever since he had learned of Sivers and Rallo, and he made it his mission to become like them, and to surpass them. He was the only one of the group that had wanted to be a full-fledged pirate. Koan was the opposite. She had always believed in the freedom of the seas, but she hated pirates. She had told the others only briefly of how she became an orphan, her parents being taken by pirates a long time ago when she was a child. Koan desired the true freedom and justice of the seas as her goal, and believed the only way to do so was through the World Government and the Marines. Vyne was more complex. He didn’t want to become a pirate or a marine. The titles themselves didn’t matter to him. What he wanted as his dream was fame, fame beyond anyone’s beliefs. He wanted to become a legend, a household name that the whole world would know, whether to be feared or loved, it didn’t matter. He just knew when he died, he wanted that level of recognition. Marienne was a born adventurer. She desired to be the first person to have sailed all of the seas, and seen everything the world had to offer.

Kuzo was the only one of the group that didn’t have a distinct goal. It was something the others sometimes teased him about. In many ways, he sought similar things to what the others sought, but he could never put the exact words of what his dream was out there. He referred to it as his ‘Ultimate Prize’, and believed whatever it was, wherever it was, he would know what it was once he found it. Thus, he too wanted to sail the seas. Together, the group agreed to go out to see together when they were ready. This came when Vyne and Koan were 17, Bart being 16, Marienne 15, and Kuzo 13. It was tough for Kuzo to leave and be able to keep up with the others, but he did his best he could either way.

The group could never agree on what exactly they were when they finally set sail. Bart insisted they were pirates, even at times trying to give them a name. Koan wouldn’t have it. She insisted they were on the path to becoming protectors of the seas. Vyne didn’t care either way what they called themselves. Pirates, Marines, it didn’t matter to him. He just wanted them to become renown. In many ways, Marienne was the glue that held the group together. Bart and Koan were always bashing heads, and she was always the mediator to keep them cool. She also had a way with her brother, to make him warm up to everyone else, including Kuzo. She also took care of Kuzo, almost like a big sister to him. They all respected her, perhaps the most of the group, because she was the cheerful person that she was. Vyne even vowed to her that he would see her dream fulfilled, no matter how long it would take.

Whatever the young group really were labeled as, they all heard the call of adventure in them. They visited islands, explored new areas they’ve never heard of, and even entangled with a group of bandits and pirates on occasions. Marienne was the only one who would disapprove of those fights, being a gentle soul who hated violence, war, and retaliation. Vyne and the others agreed to do little of those actions as they were with her. As more time passed between them, Bart and Marienne became closer, to the point where they were dating. Vyne didn’t approve at first, but he eventually warmed up to the idea.

A few years passed since they left their home in Mayako. They were far from there now, living toward their dreams. Yet as the days went on, their ambitions also increased, particularly Bart’s, whose will to become Pirate King didn’t diminish at all, but instead increased. He sought to go forward to the Grand Line, where the pirate’s call was the strongest. Vyne too wanted to push forward, knowing that the Grand Line was where they would earn their biggest name. The others didn’t protest too much, but Marienne was unsure if they were all ready for such a big leap into the big leagues, still being teenagers. On an island right before the Grand Line, called Sirrico, the group found their biggest test yet. Sirrico was a gathering place for many other Pirate groups who sought to head to the Grand Line, where festivals were held in adventurers’ honors as they prepared to brave the most dangerous shores in the world.. In particular, a certain pirate name Jorrman sought entry there, having a crew of his own, known as the Dice Pirates, well known gamblers, but also viciously cruel pirates. Seeing all of the competition heading into the Grand Line, Jorrman and his crew hatched a plot to rid themselves of all other pirates crews within the area. During the night, they planted bombs on each of the other ships, including Kuzo’s group.

During a heavy night of celebrations in the town, the group happily drank their troubles away as they prepared for the next leg of their journey. At some point, Marienne headed back to the ship. She had a present she wished to give to the others for their hard work, something she was working on for a while. It was new additions to the sails and ship, a sign to call themselves under. Unfortunately, her entry back on the ship caused the explosions to detonate on their boat. Marienne died that day from her injuries, much to the distraught of the others. However, before she did, she insisted that they wouldn’t go on a revenge path for her. Instead, he believed they should continue to follow their dreams.

It was true, Marienne was the glue that tied the group together, because soon after, the group was split apart. Kuzo never knew how fast it would have happened, how sooner everything they had treasured together would disappear. Bart and Vyne in particular took the death hard, Bart perhaps even more so than Vyne. When the group did split up, he was invited by Bart to go pursue Marienne’s killers, but out of respect for her wishes and beliefs, Kuzo refused, believing she wouldn’t have wanted a path of revenge for them. Bart left in disgust and anger, and Kuzo learned a little after that Bart was successful in killing all of the pirates responsible for Marienne’s death. Kuzo didn’t know at the time how he felt about that. He believed Koan would have said that justice was done. He also hope Vyne and Bart found some closure from the event, but somehow he felt it wasn’t the case.

Regardless, it was the last he had heard from any of his friends for a long time. He knew Koan, Vyne, and Bart all eventually made the jump to the Grand Line, but Kuzo did not. Being younger than them, he knew he wasn’t ready, but that wasn’t the real reason why. He wasn’t sure why, in fact. He felt that his journey would eventually take him there, but there had to have been a sign first. So, for the next few years, Kuzo wandered as an adventurer across the East Blue, always seeking his dreams, as Marienne would have wanted. He also managed to find a Devil Fruit in the process. It wasn’t until a few years later that he finally had the sign he was looking for.

As Fleet Admiral Kanaru brought the end of the Pirate King and his crew, Kuzo felt the world began to change dramatically. Territories long held by the King were suddenly falling apart. But more than that, opportunity was on the rise. Yet the most drastic thing happened when he learned of the capture of Alexander “Throne” Sivers, the supposed last of the King Pirates. He was to be executed in Loguetown publicly. Being so responsible for Kuzo’s decision to set sail, he felt that he had to be there, to see it happen. He owed the man that much. So, Kuzo arrived in Loguetown to a filled city, all of which were people from around the world who had come to see the last of the King Pirates executed. Kuzo gathered with many others as he saw the man walk to the gallows. For a brief moment on the way, the man even cast a glance at Kuzo, and gave him a smile. In fact, he seemed to smile the entire way to his death.

And then it happened, and for so many on that day, the world was suddenly open. Kuzo felt his ambition begin to rise from the depth on that day, and he felt the call of piracy too. He felt the Grand Line finally echo in his mind too, and call him to the untamed seas. Finally, Kuzo would set sail for the Grand Line, to find his ‘Ultimate Treasure’.

Devil Fruit/Equipment/Weapon: ???

Goal/Dream: Kuzo seeks what he likes to call the "Ultimate Prize", or "Ultimate Treasure". When asked about this, he usually doesn't elaborate, as he feels he really doesn't need to. Most others assume this Ultimate Treasure could be mountains of gold in the Grand Line, while others believe it to be the goal of becoming Pirate King. But in reality, even Kuzo himself doesn't know what the Ultimate Prize is. He feels he will only know what it is when he has gotten it, which is why he has decided to form a crew and set sail for the Grand Line, to cross over all those waters until he finally achieves what he seeks, whatever that may end up being. Along the way, he'll aim for whatever any other pirate would want: treasure, fights, fame, freedom, and adventure.

Other/Quirks: Kuzo is bad with numbers, terrible even. It’s to a point where it is ridiculous. He has no concept of even the most basic math, like addition, subtraction, or the like. When Kuzo would attempt any math, it would be shown how miserably he fails.

Raikiri's character: Wright D. Morgan
Spoiler:

Name: "The Burning King" Wright D. Morgan

Age:
24

Race:
Human

Appearance:
http://www.zerochan.net/1562172
Morgan is considered by many to be a handsome specimen, having obtained the love and lust of many women. Standing at a bit under 6 feet tall and weighing in around 160 pounds, Morgan has an athletic build, appearing to be more than capable of handling himself in a scrap if he was to get in one, with defined arms, shoulders and torso. He does have long skinny legs, which is admittedly awkward, but is remedied by his outfit. What truly catches the eyes of women, is Morgan's shaggy black hair that almost brushes against his deep green eyes. His eyes have been called hypnotizing by some and powerful by others, carrying a sense of pride and passion behind them. They are of average size, but can be very expressive giving his fiery emotions wide range. His clean-shaven face is youthful and free from impurities with slightly rose cheeks and generally well proportioned features. This gives Morgan what his mother affectionately called a "baby face" which Morgan took as a compliment.

Morgan's outfit is comfortable and loose enough for him to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire if need be.He favors plain black trench coat, which Morgan wears usually open, revealing a collared white shirt. He wears matching black pants and brown leather boots, favoring the practical nature of each. Often these pants and boots are in fairly good condition, but only because Morgan makes it his business to keep his outfit clean and pristine in order to look good for the ladies in his life. As far as accessories go, Morgan has made a few investments, primarily in a necklace with a small ruby pendant on it and a wristband with a good luck charm on it to keep him safe.

Personality:
Morgan is an energetic, eccentric yet ambitious and passionate individual with clearly defined goals, but no actual plan to actually achieve them. Morgan has a love for adventure that is only satisfied by journeying out in the open waters and doing whatever he damn well pleases. This often at odds with his fleeting desires which has caused Morgan to get all bouts of trouble. Fortunately, Morgan has sharp wits and endless amounts of luck which allows him to escape with little repercussions other than a higher bounty than the day before. Morgan's sharp wit also translates to a silver tongue and an overall charming personality. Morgan is self aware of his charms and has become quite the ladies man, though he has experience more failures than successes in his lifetime.

Morgan's eccentricities primarily stems from his superstitions, day dreaming and strange obsession with puns, one liners and lame jokes. Morgan firmly believes in luck and his own peculiar brand of karma, and as a result usually tries to do the right thing in any given situation. If something doesn't work, he writes it off as bad luck and moves on. If something works out, its good luck. In this regard, Morgan rarely dwells on the past and is constantly looks towards the future with high aspirations. These aspirations often blind Morgan however and he can be often caught zoning out his own little world, hence his day dreaming. Often situational, Morgan never shies away from making a joke (or speaking his mind in general) and leaps on any opportunity to break tension. Because life is too short to be serious.

Despite Morgan's tendency to keep things relaxed and carefree, one should not assume he is a complete fool. Morgan has a keen mind and is quite intelligent, able to articulate himself well and come up with the occasional brilliant strategy (though they usually are basic in design). Morgan, however, is quite reckless and is not afraid of anything, being more than willing to charge blindly into a situation with no regard for any repercussions. Additionally, Morgan is very stubborn, refusing to back down from anything especially if directly opposes his principle that he so valiantly cares for: freedom to live one's life the way they want to.

History:
Born and raised on Sunnyside Island, Morgan got lucky when it comes to the circumstances of his family life. His father and mother were once relatively successful merchants, living off the fruits of their labor and were able to support Morgan to the best of their ability. They home-schooled the boy, teaching him the best they could while keeping him safe from the dangers of the outside world. Sunnyside Island's tumultuous culture kept Morgan very sheltered, rarely leaving the sanctity of his home. As he grew more confident and curious, a yearning to step outside developed within him. Not one to not act on his whims, Morgan began to go out on short walks around town, keeping his wits about him. As his adventures grew longer, so he did his curiosity of the outside world. Noticing his son's wandering habits, his father began to train Morgan in basic combat, particularly self defense and the use of weapons in order to ward off the dangers of the island. It was necessary to keep his son safe. Luckily enough, Morgan was a fast learner and caught on early, despite being so young.

At around the age of 8, Morgan had a chance encounter with a boy named Vane T. Edward. Despite only being a year older than Morgan, Edward's reputation around Sunnyside had grown to be that of a troublemaker being a violent irritable child. Morgan was quietly fed up with Edward's attitude, disliking his tendency to fight. One day, Morgan confronted Edward about his fighting, imploring him to stop. Not particularly caring, Edward and Morgan literally bumped heads. Despite not having the early advantage, Morgan eventually won the fight, stunning the more experienced Edward. Morgan did not think twice about the fight and continued along his way, traveling the island and training. However, Edward would continue to challenge Morgan to fight after fight. While one would figure the fights would eventually evolved into some sort of death match, the relationship between the two became more complex: it became a good, yet competitive friendship. Edward and Morgan would constantly spend time together, Edward often trying to test his limits and Morgan being more than willing to indulge, and the things they could do together. Edward's ambition to become stronger was fun to support but watching Edward grew had caused Morgan to become ambitious as well. He admired Edward's freedom and desire to become what he wanted to know. In other words, his individualism. Morgan resolved to become his own man as well, using their adventures as a means of self discovery. They often snuck into Miruike Forest, which was probably the most dangerous part of the island. There, they fought beasts, endured the wild, and ran into numerous close calls. It was in these hazards that Morgan gained a better perspective on his life and it spoke volumes to him. He loved the thrill of adventure, freedom and individualism. Morgan decided that he wanted to experience true freedom as it was there he would find his purpose in life as well as find true happiness. But he realized that in order to truly find this happiness, he would have to travel. So he made a vow to leave Sunnyside when he was old enough, with no particular destination in mind.

A raid on the island made this need to travel even more apparent as the once safe Sunnyside island was no longer safe. Edward lost his mother in the raid, which made the once easy going friend of his far more serious. At least for a time. Morgan was lucky to not lose anything. If anything he obtained a greater passions to leave the island. As once as he was able, Morgan left the island. He decided to become a pirate much like the Pirates that raided Sunnyside. Only he would succumb to the typical brand of privacy that ruined so many lives.

The pirate's life was definitely for Morgan as it did not take long for him to adjust to life on the sea. Initially, Morgan kept a low profile, joining small pirate crews and getting a feel for the "culture" of piracy. The longest he spent with a crew was a crew originating from the West Blue called the "Falcon Pirates." Their renown was a bit limited, but their knowledge was vast making Morgan's admission vital to his future successes. Morgan learned nearly everything he learned about the sea, the people, the skills needed to be a true pirate. At the same time, Morgan acquired many of his tastes, particularly his obsession with luck and his growing dislike for many of the World Government's handlings with justice and control from the culture of the "Falcon Pirates." Tragedy struck the "Falcon Pirates" when Morgan was about 19, as their flagship the Blue Falcon was attacked, pillaged and destroyed by a rival group of pirates. Morgan was thrown overboard by the captain given only a small bag containing a small unknown chest that Morgan was unfamiliar with. Morgan survived the attack and washed up ashore on a small island for several weeks. In a moment of curiosity during the isolation, Morgan opened the bag and chest only to find a single piece of oddly shaped fruit. Delusional and hungry, Morgan decided to eat the whole thing, despite its absolute horrid taste. It was only in hindsight that he realized what he had done. He ate a Devil Fruit. The one he remembered Captain talking about the fruit days before the attack. After some experimentation, Morgan learned about his powers and sworn to get revenge for his fallen crew.

Morgan eventually found a way off the island with a basic smoke signal (which now wasn't hard to make) and docked at the closest island nearby, got himself on a pirate ship, overthrew the captain and his crew and made the ship his own to act as his vehicle for the hunt. Morgan, for the next year, became an obsessed hunter as he tracked the guilty ship and finally tracking down the ship that attacked and killed his crew after an intense investigation. The attack Morgan committed was merciless and truly deadly, the ashes left in his wake becoming the first verse in the forging of his nickname: The Burning King. As satisfying as revenge was, he realized he had become no better than him in that instant. He had decided to reserve such punishments for only the worst and most despicable criminals and pirates.

Morgan's renown as did his reputation for having a fondness for fire. Morgan would go to become a true pirate, raiding merchant, pirate and Marine ships alike, but not without good reason. The merchant ships were often carrying illegal goods or working for corrupt officials of some kind. Pirate ships were always fair game, but Morgan usually targeted more morally warped crews. Marine ships were those that Morgan felt abused their power and authority or those he personally just didn't like for whatever reason. Morgan acquired a destructive reputation as well, being known to flaunt his power during his raids. However, Morgan never attacked innocent civilians or raided islands directly, keeping many of his engagements on the open sea as to prevent damage. He had gotten in a few scraps on dry island, but made a conscious decision to avoid piling up the damages. When he did, Morgan never paid as pirates never really pay their debts.

Morgan's deeds eventually caught up with him as he was eventually caught by a well organized Marine attack and is en route to Impel Down.

Devil Fruit:
The Mera Mera no Mi or Flame-Flame fruit, Logia Class.

Morgan's devil fruit has made him a "fire man" which has granted him complete mastery over the element of fire, allowing him to create, control and become fire. Its primary usage in its use as a weapon, allowing Morgan to create fire-based attacks, such as the basic fireball. However, Morgan being a creative spirit has shown to be capable of broadening the horizon of his abilities in occasional flashes of brillance, such as explosions, fire fists, fire walls, etc. The range of attacks are vast and can be fickle in terms of control, making Morgan a destructive force to say the least. However, his knowledge is still relatively poor, making him suspect there is much more to learn about his power and its various uses.

The devil fruit also makes Morgan intangible to most normal attacks, unless imbued with forces such as haki (which he has no knowledge of). This is done by transforming himself into fire and allowing the attack to pass through him. Additionally physical attacks are capable of burning an opponent in they are within close proximity to Morgan at the time. Morgan is vulnerable to general devil fruit weaknesses including sea water and sea stone. As mentioned above however, he is a capable fighter who is developing a fighting style that takes full advantage of his devil fruit powers.

Goal/Dream:
Take down the World Government, expand piracy and live a truly free life.

Other/Quirks:
Tends to be unintentionally but ridiculously destructive. This is due to Morgan’s tendency to go all out in all things and his personal habit of never holding back. As a result, Morgan’s natural strength, further amplified by his devil fruit, causes ridiculous levels of destruction to property and people. This, of course, is often by complete accident and coincidence.

Current Bounty: 48,000,000

Gender:Male

Epithet/Nickname: The White Haired Demon

Appearance: http://safebooru.org/index.php?page=...view&id=207305 No, he never wears a shirt and he stands at 6"6

Personality: Leon is stoic and brash. He speaks with a growl that even a wolf would tremble to. He does not tolerate losing and treats each fight as if it was to the death. He presents himself proudly and powerfully, just standing near him can feel like a challenge. He is devoted to his captain, and becomes protective of his crew. Though he never respects a coward, and will quickly drop his loyalties if he believes his leader to be one. He loved his daughter and wife back home.

In a battle Leon is a monster. Civilians are not safe from him, and if the order is not given to specifically save lives, he will not hesitate to kill them if it will further his or his captain's goals. This places him more as a villain, as he will often destroy towns to kill a target or get to a captured comrade. His fighting style is quick and deadly, although he doesn't utilize the effect of his fruit power that steals shadows, he does use his own shadow to switch places with during a fight and also to fight along side him. His sycthe is his main weapon, its main use is to cause fear in the enemy, it is only practical against those much less skilled than him. His katana is used when an enemy proves to be on equal footing. In his mind, if he uses his katana, he is giving his opponent a great honor.

History: Leon was originally a shipbuilder as a teenager and a young adult. He married a woman, and had a small child. He valued life and lived happily until he was 23. During his 23rd birthday, pirates raided his village. They took everything the village had, and attempted to take Leon forcibly as a shipbuilder. He only agreed in order to prevent them from taking his family instead. For four years he worked as a slave on their ship, unable to watch his child grow up. On the fourth year, the crew came upon a very valuable treasure. The Kage Kage no Mi had been pillaged from a naval ship, and the captain held a celebration in order to initiate himself. The party was cut short as they were attacked by two other naval ships. They were fired upon and boarded, and in the commotion, his captain was defeated and arrested. Leon was able to escape with the fruit, his life, and a small life boat.

His life after that was rough. He had become so hungry that he eventually consumed the fruit, and gained its abilities. He spent two years searching for a pirate crew who would take him in, with hopes that one day he would be able to return to his village. When he found one and made his way back, his wife had remarried and his child had forgotten him. Devastated, he decided to become a pirate permanently.

Over the years leading up to this day, he has been with three other pirate ships, the first abandoned because his captain was considered cowardly, and the final one was completely killed by the very same captain who took him from his family years ago. "The only reason I am leaving you alive." The man said, "Is because I know your life is more painful than any afterlife I could send you to." With these words, the captain had taken Leon's life again.

Leon knows the captain will search for The One Piece, and he will follow.

Devil Fruit/Equipment/Weapon: Kage Kage no Mi, also uses a scythe and a katana.

Goal/Dream: To be the most feared man on the seas and to kill the captain that took his life.

Other/Quirks: -Favortie food is bread
-His last name is not his actual last name.
-He dislikes the taste of lobster
-Can build and repair a ship
-Can be on par with a master swordsman (but would eventually lose due to a lack of specializing.)
-Cant cook, tries to cook
-Often speaks without using titles, and can be very blunt.

Current Bounty: 49,000,000
-Murder -Destruction of Property
-Arson -Thievery
-Piracy -Excessive Loitering

I wish to reserve a spot

Over the years leading up to this day, he has been with three other pirate ships, the first abandoned because his captain was considered cowardly, and the final one was completely killed by the very same captain who took him from his family years ago. The captain of this ship was only 19 years old, and had convinced him to join because he had come to the aid of a civilian during a bar scene. The kid was a brave boy who had a somewhat similar past to his own, a family taken by pirates. The rest of the crew were as loyal as Leon was to the boy, and they sailed the seas, careless and free. Leon never asked the kid what his goal was, and the kid never asked him what his was. Life had become comfortable again until they were slaughtered in an ambush. His old captain had been sprung from prison and had spent years tracking down Leon for stealing his fruit.

"The only reason I am leaving you alive." The man said, "Is because I know your life is more painful than any afterlife I could send you to." With these words, the captain had taken Leon's life again. He was left in a lifeboat to float for days with minimal food.

Leon knows the captain will search for The One Piece, and he will follow. His lifeboat has drifted to Louguetown and he is looking for a captain and food.

-Arson -Thievery
-Piracy -Excessive Loitering

@heretostay123- Alright, you're reserved.

@Khawill- Do you mind re-uploading your link for your picture? For some reason, it redirects me to the safebooru main page. Once you do that, we'll look over your SU fully. Thanks!

@Everyone- Also, just a note to keep in mind: There is no actual crew yet. The forming will commence once the IC begins. For now, you're in Loguetown on your own (or with others, such as a different crew or friends, depending on your backstory).

I've never been much into the actual anime/manga series of One Piece, but I love the idea of it and think it would make a great RP. Since the last one I was in never even made it to the IC I think I may give this a go.

Just to clarify though, does this mean we are all a part of the same crew?

@gimmiepie- Yes, we're all going to be apart of the same crew. Obviously that crew hasn't formed yet, but it will! We also don't really have a name for it yet, so we might leave that up to the RPers to decide if they choose to.

Here's a place holder for now, it's almost done though.

Name: Skellen Bridges (Bridges L. Skellen, call him Skellen though)
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Epithet/Nickname: (The) Taipan
Appearance:

Skellen is a pale-skinned young man standing at a relatively tall height of six feet. He is of a toned, but thin, build and possess angular features. Skellen has narrow, rather piercing black eyes that when coupled with his small pointed nose give him a slightly sinister snake-like look. Skellen’s hair is jet black and rather long reaching a ways down the back of his neck, hanging around his ears and worn with a long fringe that almost reaches his eyes. Skellen is always cleanly shaved and despite the dangerous times has unblemished skin.

Skellen’s typical attire consists of simple black trousers and shoes with a white button-up shirt which he wears with the top button or two undone. He is also frequently seen wearing a long, fairly thick, brown coat open over this attire. The inside of his coat contains several pockets (a few of which that are concealed) in which he keeps some of his equipment, similarly he will often carry a matching brown satchel with him also. Unlike many others Skellen does not carry any visible weapon with him (although he certainly has some at his disposal), although he does know how to use pretty much anything if he has to.

Personality: Skellen possesses two very distinct sides to his personality that appear at random and even overlap occasionally.

A lot of the time, especially when in public, Skellen appears to be a very jovial and carefree person. He will often make sarcastic remarks and will gladly partake in drinking, partying and merry-making. He will often make sarcastic jabs at those around him, or will otherwise employ humour in his conversations (frequently at the expense of other albeit).

The other side of Skellen isn't nearly as much fun to be around. Skellen can become very serious, dark and brooding and when made too angry can become border-line psychopathic or sadistic. Thankfully these moods usually strike him when he is either alone, or in a situation that calls for him to be more serious. He tends to seek to calm himself through being alone with his interests or taking out his aggression on something, both work it simply depends on which he feels more like at the time.

Skellen likes a challenge and has on occasion been involved in gambling - especially on street fights (which he may be participating in) - and loves to win. This being said he is prepared to take a loss should it serve him well later on. Behind is zany antics, brooding moods and confusing personality Skellen is actually very calculating and intelligent. He is good at thinking on his feet, learns quickly, is diligent and is very knowledgeable in several areas (not quite so good at tact in a lot of cases unfortunately).

Skellen is extremely interested in chemistry, biology, medicine (and poisons) and martial arts. This combination of skills has lead to not only incredible accuracy but has also given him an excellent knowledge of the human body as well as of various potent chemicals and how to obtain them. This skill set allows him to be useful as a scientist, doctor and as an assassin (making up for his lack of brute strength).

History: Skellen spent his childhood on the small Grandline island of Eden. The only child of two notable doctors, Skellen had always been surrounded by medicine and chemistry and as such he was fascinated by his parents work. Especially in their work with toxins and antivenoms (despite the name “Eden” several of the beautiful plants and animals found only on the island are venomous). As such, Skellen spent a lot of his time as a child accompanying his parents on the less-dangerous jobs they took part in and did a lot of his own research in the subject. A fast learner, by his early teens he was almost as knowledgeable as his parents – although they didn’t recognise this, he was only a child after all (something that irritated him somewhat as he always became skilled in what he studied hard at).

When Skellen was at the age of fourteen his beloved home of Eden became the temporary resting place of a rather infamous pirate crew, nothing particularly new as several less well-known crews has stopped there briefly before. This was much the same, during their stay the pirates were friendly and caused little trouble, a tad rough sometimes and a rowdy bunch but not as bad as they were believed to be it seemed. Unfortunately, their notoriety led the Marines to follow them to Eden. In a brutal battle the pirates were ousted. Yet the marines remained.
Corrupt, vicious and domineering the group of marines set up a base of operations on the island to “apprehend pirates attempting to rest there”, which really meant to laze around, cause trouble for Eden’s natives and demand money for their protection. The marines would destroy buildings, brutally assault those whom “weren’t grateful for their protection” (meaning “didn’t give them Belli) and were generally cruel to the people of Eden. By the time Skellen was sixteen the natives of the island had more than had enough of the marines. A group of the island’s men and women launched a rebellion, Skellen’s parents treated both sides of the skirmish that ensued (at this point Skellen would have happily joined in the attack himself had his parents not prevented it).

Unsurprisingly, the rebellion was crushed by the marines. But that doesn’t mean that there were no shocks left for Skellen. His parents were both killed by the marines due to their giving medical aid to rebels – even though they remained neutral and provided it to marines also. This was the last straw and finalised Skellen’s hatred of the world government and the marines working for them. Several weeks after the death of his parents, Skellen initiated his own one-man rebellion. Using his knowledge of poisons and his impeccable accuracy he infiltrated the base of the marines, killing any that stood in his way until he was able to do what he had come for. Covering many of the marines’ boats as well as their main base in various flammable chemicals Skellen set fire to them resulting in several small explosions and a tremendous blaze. As almost every marine on the island died Skellen sat on an ornate chair – a remnant from one of the boats or buildings he had destroyed – floating in the slightly warm water watching the destruction. During the next day he fled the island with as many of his supplies as he could gather and a bounty now on his head.

Ever since his escape from Eden, Skellen has worked as an assassin (although he has done anything he could really to scrape the money to survive… these days he is rather wealthy for one person who has to frequently travel). Skellen spends most of his time tracking down high ranking members of the marines or world government and seeing to it they die. That being said, he isn’t above obtaining the bounties of his fellow criminals should he need the money.

Weapon/Equipment: Skellen is an expert on medicines, poisons and precision and as such is prepared to utilise these skills in many ways. In his many pockets and his satchel he carries an assortment of various knives, scalpals, needles, capsules of poison and medicines and other similar supplies.

Goal/Dream: Skellen has two goals. The first is to bring an end to the reign of the World Government, especially the navy. The second is to discover as many effective medicines and poisons as he can (and to use them on the appropriate people).

Quirks: Other than having two very different sides to his personality, Skellen has a tendency to have rather bad luck. Trouble seems to always know where to find him. He also has a tendency to talk to his plants (or any poisonous animals he is keeping at any given time).

Current Bounty: 35 000 000 Belli

Crimes:
-Murder
-Arson
-Vandalism
-Piracy/Theft
-Terrorism

Other: He has a tendency to keep various plants, sometimes poisonous animals.

FINISHED!!!

Name: Halberd H. Cloud
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Epithet/Nickname: Epilepse

Appearance: (A picture would be preferable as we would use it to create a wanted poster, though a description may also be given)

Personality:

History:

Devil Fruit/Equipment/Weapon: The Pika Pika Fruit and a special invention of his: A flintlock pistol designed to shoot light bullets

Goal/Dream: Cloud's one dream is to be known as the most sufficient killer on the Grand Line, and to slay a marine admiral

Current Bounty: 36,000,000

Hey guys. Your other GM speaking. Glad to see there is so much interest so far, but I just wanted to say a few things.

@gimmiepie:
Looking good so far. I actually rather like the character myself. So finish up the history so SV and myself can discuss everything and make a final decision.

@heretostay123:
Before you get too much into your SU, you are going to have to change your Devil Fruit as the Pika Pika no Mi is taken by an already as of yet unnamed NPC. They are plenty of Devil Fruits out there to choose from and SV and myself are more than willing to help you think of a Devil Fruit if you want it. Sorry about that.

@Everyone:
I just want to make a note about bounties, they will go up as the RP progresses and your character does not necessarily need one. None of the characters in the manga/anime have one at the start and it is a great thing to watch them grow as the story progresses.

Also, what's with everyone having murder under the bounties? Does everyone have to be murdering psychos? haha xD

Stonewall H. Mason, Age 21 Male Craftsman

Profile

Nickname - Divine

Appearance - Standing tall at around 6'2, Mason is a rather muscular, slightly thick character. His skin is something of a dark tan color, accented by his jet black hair that barely covers his narrow, dark brown eyes, and in the back it falls halfway down his back in a ponytail. He wears old, finger-less gloves that are stitched at the seams on his slightly soot colored hands. Over a black shirt he wears a pendant and a jinbaori (a type of jacket, generally worn by generals in the Warring States era), both of which bear the crest of the Divine pirates: a detailed illustration of the moon in the mouth of a jolly roger skull and crossbones. He wears a pair of black pants on his lower half, as well as tabi and black socks.

Mason is a well-built character, making up for his lack of a blade with raw strength. As a result, he wears bandages on his midsection, as well as on his forearms (though not on his fists). He isn't the friendliest looking fellow, having narrow eyes and deep voice as he does, and this is mostly a misdirection, though an unintentional one. He often looks angry, even when he's making a straight face (this wasn't a characteristic that he had as a child so much as it was a developed trait). The Celestial Scabbard is placed on Mason's hip. Unlike most scabbards, the Celestial Scabbard is hooked to his hakama for easy access, which is a necessity since the scabbard itself is his only weapon.

Personality - Despite how he looks, Mason is something of a cheerful fellow. He doesn't talk unnecessarily, though what he deems unnecessary depends on the situation. He isn't annoyed by people who talk a lot, either, and actually enjoys being around those who are social as it helps him feel less self conscious about his own social shortcomings. This isn't to say that he can't talk, or even that he's shy, far from it. Due to a traumatic incident when he was younger, talking became less of a pleasure and more of a necessity, and even as things normalized, he still held on to that notion, though not of his own choice.

Still, he is highly defensive of others and incredibly affectionate, though not in the most forward manner. Mason is in no way a hero-complexed person and many would say that his morals could use a wash in some holy water at times. He can be a little quick with the scabbard, sometimes choosing to fight rather than opting for diplomacy, though only in cases where diplomacy would only prove to be more of a chore than simply skipping to a fight. With this said, Mason loves quotes and anecdotes and often uses them to his advantage, making diplomacy one of those aforementioned necessities. As far as battle morals go, Mason believes in only going as far as is necessary for any given individual. This wasn't so much a choice as it was a necessary compromise, largely due to the fact that he used a scabbard as a weapon.

Mason's an ambitious fellow, and a prideful one at that. His mind is mostly, if not always preoccupied with thoughts pertaining to his siblings. He never forgets where he came from, nor those who he grew up with, and as such, he generally puts his goals before anything else...or he would, but he was taught that a single-track mind is a dull one, forcibly making him an open-minded individual. This doesn't keep him from indulging in crafting simply for the fun of it. It's his favorite pastime, specializing in blades and accessories, but having general knowledge in most fields.

History

Mason was orphaned as a child. There was no real tragedy behind it that he knew of, and the way put it, he wasn't brought up by parents so much as he grew up with others. Five others, in fact, and all of them were a few years older than him, the oldest being a girl who was around 10 when he was only a baby. It was unlikely that five kids could bring up a child on their own, especially considering that they had no home and no place to go. They called themselves pirates, each with their own dreams and ambitions, and they considered each other sworn siblings. They were the Divine Pirates, and they're saying was a simple one, "Reach for the stars." They're leader was was the eldest child, Blackwell August, often referred to by the others as "sister", and by Mason as "Mom". August gave the Divine Pirates a name, as well as renown. Being children as they were, it was nigh on impossible to create a crew that used power to get along, but August had an ace in the hole.

The Kieru Kieru no mi fruit was given to August by her mother. It was an accident, simply a snack one day, her mother being completely unaware of what the devil fruit actually was, she'd simply assumed that it was some type of melon. Shortly after taking a bite, August started to dry heave. She ran over to her mother and buried her face into her mother's skirt. Then, as if her mother had pulled away coldly, August's head was suddenly unsupported, and her mother was nowhere to be seen. She called for her several times, but to no avail. She called for her father, hugging him on arrival. She started to cry about how her mother was nowhere to be found, but right in front of her eyes...And her neighbor's. Considered a demon by those in her village, she was run out of this village. Even she was truly unsure of what was happening, why her parents disappeared, and why the village called her a demon. It wasn't until she met a navy officer that she truly understood what was going.

He looked at her with compassionate eyes, took her gently by the hand, and that was the last she saw of him. Her hand hovered over her mouth in shock, and eyes were wet from the same feeling. She made those people disappear, and she was the monster. She came to realize that she could make people disappear by touching them with her hands, and because of that she wore gloves most of the time. August became like a myth, a wandering apparition that was known to spirit people away. She was a sympathetic person when it came to other children of unfortunate circumstance. She knew what it was like to be denied of a parent's love. That was why she created the Divine Pirates, and that was why she took Mason in.

With the help of August and the others, Mason easily adapted to pirate life. Rarely did they ever stay in a single place and they always seemed to have somewhere to go. It was, needless to say, mostly a nomadic life in the beginning. They were pirates to the very core, though they didn't pillage or kill. It was important to August that the children be brought up with safely and without a taste for blood, which was why she would conduct most of the business herself rather than putting the children (or others) in danger. Though Mason became a true pirate that could truly stand on his own two feet at the age of 5, he was never really sure exactly why she was so feared. She was very careful not to reveal her ability to him. Whenever he asked the other members, they would always bear a hearty smile and say, "Because sis is the strongest." That was exactly what he believed, too. He had no reason not to, after all, she seemingly steamrolled all of the problems in path. There was nothing she couldn't do, and this inspired him to become as powerful as her.

At the age of six, Mason found a book on swordcraft called "Swift Iron 101". In the beginning, it just seemed as if Mason was just being a child and doing it for fun, but then he started to ask August and the others for books. Normally, this wouldn't have been taken completely seriously...but then he created a pendant for August that had the Divine Pirates' insignia on it. He was serious about this, and she was now ready to endorse him. The crew didn't have any sort of engineer, mainly because they didn't an actual pirate ship so much as they did a sailboat. As such, Mason took the position and started taking various jobs, both for the Divine Pirates and others. August was starting to realize that she didn't just have a family, she had a pirate crew, and she needed to start acting like a captain on top of being a sister and a mother. One day, she came back saying that she "found" a deserted ship, and from then on, they sailed the high seas.

Mason turned ten, and he'd realized he still didn't have a weapon for himself. The others had weapons, and more, the others were good with them (though, they were rarely given the chance to use them). As always he turned to August who always gave sound advice, and she told him, "If you're lost and don't know where to go, return to the beginning." Then she left. At the time, he didn't know what she meant. He rarely did. August would always give him anecdotes and metaphors that he would have to figure out on his own, which was no doubt good for him, but also tended to be frustrating. Upon returning to his room, he found the book "Swift Iron 101" on his bed. Thus, he decided to take on swordcraft once again, starting from the Scabbard. August always told him that if he wanted a weapon, it would have to be completely and totally of his creation.

When he created his first scabbard, he was met with incredible scrutiny by the other members, even by August. They were pretty brutal, telling him all the things that were wrong with it and what he should do better. This was strange, as most of the other things he made were met with praise. He tried again, and again, and again. Despite how the others scrutinized it, he couldn't help but become more proud of his scabbards after each attempt. A year after his first attempt, Mason presented his final attempt to August. She looked it over thoroughly. He was practically dripping with sweat, as her word was law. It was a decorated scabbard that was glorious enough for a king yet dark and most enough for a pirate. She handed it back to the nervous craftsman saying, "Truly a scabbard fit for the blade of a Divine Pirate."

Mason was overjoyed, but August quickly assured him that creating a blade to compliment a scabbard of that quality would be nigh on impossible, and it would be far more than simple trial and error. Mason was determined, however, and he was going to create such a blade so that he could become something of worth to the Divine Pirates.

That was his plan, anyway.

When Mason was thirteen, he finally asked why August always wore gloves. She knew she couldn't hide it from him anymore. She told him about her power and what happened to her parents. She told him about the navy officer, as well as the countless other people whom she'd made disappear since becoming a Divine Pirate. She talked about several accounts of people- pirates, marine, and innocent- in detail. This was the first time Mason ever saw his mother crack. It was frightening. She didn't quite look sad...in fact, she was smiling, but tears streaked down her face at the same time while grasping her arms in pain. It was as if she had been caught between several emotions and she wasn't able to deal with it. Mason had to wonder if the others ever talked to her about it, because she recounted everything in a slow and often sporadic fashion, as if it was her first time ever really talking to anyone about it. It was as if she kept it all boxed in for the past 13+ years, and grew. It was breaking her.

One day, the Divine Pirates were out to go find food when they were met with a firing squad. They weren't all under arrest, and in fact, the only one they were after was August. She was under arrest with a staggering 10,000,000 bounty. She was charged with literally hundreds of accounts of murder. Anna-Marie, one of the Divine Pirate members, wouldn't have it. She charged at them...and they fired. Anna died almost instantly. The other pirates were shocked, but August...she was paralyzed. Her little sister was just killed right in front of her eyes, and while she thought she would be able to take witnessing such a death like a rock, it felt as if she'd been torn into two. The marines kept their sights on pirates, not showing any remorse for the dead teen.

The others started to charge, but they were stopped cold by the melancholic screech of their dear foster mother. "STOP!" She yelled. "I...I'll go. Just don't hurt my brothers and sisters!" The others looked a her shocked. She gave them everything, so they would gladly give their lives for her. But she wouldn't have that. She looked over her crew- or rather, her family. She was overcome with pride, and at the same time, overcome with grief over the one who was lost. She'd succeeded in raising them, but she'd failed in protecting them. With the guns trained on her, August raised her hands and stepped forward. A shot rang out. Ylvic, who had rushed to her aid, lay limp on the ground. Then Elric. Then Asta. Soon, the only one left was Mason. The tears August shed that day were enough to fill the grand canyon, and at this point, she truly was broken. Her legs wouldn't move, her expressions were seemingly absentminded. Rather than taking advantage of this and capturing her, however, the soldiers sat quivering behind their barrels. No one actually knew of the Kieru Kieru no mi fruit, not even August. She was, as far as the world knew, a vengeful spirit said to spirit people away.

August turned to the soldiers, and they almost simultaneously gasped in horror. Some of the soldiers dropped their guns and ran away, as her face looked far more dead and terrifying at this point than anything a myth alone could produce. Mason aimed to help her, as his siblings did, but something caught his leg as he headed towards her. It was Asta. She, nearing the end of her life, told him that fighting wasn't any use and that, like everything else, August was doing this for him. To prove this, Asta handed Mason a pendant. It was similar to the one that he made for August, but this particular one was an attempt by all of his siblings to show that they appreciated his work. Promptly after handing him the pendant, Asta told Mason that he needed to run, and so he did, reluctantly. He ran, and he ran. Then, a bang. And then another. Tears fled from Mason's eyes as he left the battlefield as the last known surviving member of the Divine Pirates.

Even without the aid of his sibling, Mason took care of himself. He no longer had a ship, and the death of his family practically made him a man of silence. He didn't speak much outside of necessity, something that didn't change all too much as he aged. As a tribute to the lost Divine Pirates, Mason continued to try to create the perfect blade for his scabbard. He ended up in Loguetown chasing a rumor that he'd heard about the Celestial Spirit having reappeared, and that is where is new journey began.

Other Information

Weapon - Celestial Scabbard

Goals - Mason aims create a sword worthy to be sheathed into his scabbard. He also wants to find out about the Celestial Spirit and quell the rumors permanently. Finally, he wants to fulfill the dreams of the other members of the Divine Pirates.

Quirks - Mason has a serious, almost mean demeanor, and this scares people away. Or at least, Mason thinks it scares people away, and as such, he has developed a coping method that is almost compulsory. Should someone be scared by them, he will takes his hands, hide his face, and then reveal his face again to show him making silly expressions and zany sounds. This can often be scarier than his normal appearance.

Mason, like August and her mother before her, often uses quotes, anecdotes, and metaphors. The only problem is, Mason is very likely to to mess them up, especially ones that rhyme. How likely? "The early worm catches the bird" is one of his favorite quotes.

Seeing as this a largely original take on One Piece, you should have no problem getting into the story. This is basically what if Supervegeta and myself told the story instead, or nothing more than a story in the One Piece universe. They are no canon characters or anything like that in the story, so you don't need to know One Piece to understand anything (you just will maybe appreciate it more). We will explain any concepts newcomers are confused on and can link you to wikis if you would like them.

We are more than willing to help. No harm in trying to sign up :D

Oh, yes! We definitely need more Claire/Plex' in here :D That'd make this even better! Also, my ideas for my character is getting fleshed out and he does -not- have a devil fruit. Someone has to fish you poor guys out of the water after all I should probably be able to write it tomorrow. Can't wait to join up with this!

Also, so much murder D: Then again, maybe they're false charges. Then again, looking at the scythe-man with the shadow-fruit... probably not :x

Yep, as Raikiri said, we're going to try to make this noob-friendly enough so that people who haven't watched/read One Piece could still participate, understand and enjoy! We've included a few links in the bottom of the first post, and we'll probably include more to help out along the way.

@Sir Bastian- Yeah, thanks for that. Looking forward to seeing your character!

And yeah, lots of murder flying around! xD I'm not totally against it, obviously. It's your character design. And there could have been a wide range of circumstance surrounding that.

Grah! My bad. I'll pick a new one soon. In the meantime I have a 250 page essay due tomorrow. Also I have to read Candide by tomorrow. So once that's done I'll start work immediately.

Just wondering, could I have the Gum-Gum Fruit? If not, I'll have the Bubble-Bubble (Awa-Awa).

So.... a few questions.... One, Is the Mythical Zoan fair game? I'd love to be able to have a character that could transform into a little dragon. Within reason of course, you know how much I value fairness and balance.

Two....can I have a parrot?

Also, that reservation & character sheet rule is very confusing....where's my Devil Fruit cookie...

Edit: Haha, do you know how hard it is to find a picture of a modestly dressed female pirate. Lol...the results are....interesting...
