That sounds like my kind of deck! Always loved energy acceleration in that style.

Deck would need a Garbodor counter, though.

Changing the topic, did anyone make a prerelease for XY this past weekend? I was going to go to one on Sunday, but the weather forecast of 45 MPH wind gusts and consistent 30 MPH winds and possible whiteout conditions in broad daylight with no cloud cover made me change my mind late Saturday.

So that would mean yours are Super Bowl weekend (as in, this next weekend), then?

We've got another round of two this coming weekend, but they're a fair bit further from me than Sunday's was.

Nope, my weekend involved zero prerelease activity. Although the weather hasn't been the greatest here either, I didn't go because there weren't any prerelease events nearby -_-
But is anyone else looking forward to XY?

If I had to guess, there's not one happening. :( XY officially hits stores on the 5th, and most shops prioritize the Magic playerbase (which is bigger and more reliably buys packs from them) over the Pokemon playerbase if events conflict. Do you have an area TO that runs official events there?

I'm looking forward to it as a player, but the foils are a disappointment as a collector after the excitement of getting the Shiny Collection released as the Radiant Collection inside Legendary Treasures.

I noticed something fun. The japanese Megas have English on the cards and English cards have Japanese on the cards.

I... totally forgot that was a thing.

I dub it the "Foreign languages make everything cooler!" effect.

I was only there for like 1 round. I got horribly crushed by a chesnaught. A jigglypuff almost saved me but my opponent drew into evosoda and won the game. After that i got a bye and had to go to work.

That doesn't sound like it was a very pleasant prerelease.

Oh well. Dud prereleases because of life and bad luck with packs happen from time to time.

Both prereleases i've had terrible luck. Even with LT i only got really bad Exs like black kyurem while people were pulling mew and darkrai. I think i need to stop going to those.

If it's anything like Magic, the bad prereleases tend to even out with the good ones over tome and with more experience in the limited formats. Granted it's easier to have success in Magic because you can actually do something with most of the commons unlike in Pokemon.

Only the loading screen appears.

Is this happening to anyone else?

You most certainly can, be it making your own thread for your question, posting a question in the Quick Questions Thread, or posting your question here (though this thread is more of a Pokemon TCG general chat thread).

Try uninstalling the client and then redownloading the new installer from the website. Had that issue after an update for the client hit my system. Sometimes the auto-update gets a bit wonky like that.

I was in the pokemon site, they said they are in a maintance so that's why I can't access there.

And sorry to put this question on thread, will not happening again.

And thanks by the way for answering.

Well, I guess you'll just have to wait out their maintenance period.

Anyway, bringing this thread back to life, what does everyone think of the new holo pattern on the holos for XY? I'm iffy on them, but it is something new to Pokemon. It reminds of the foil pattern on the "Super Rare" cards from Yu-Gi-Oh!'s early days. Not much character to it at all, in my opinion.

I didn't notice that it changed. I do find the newer cards start to curl alot faster than the older sets. Though it might just be me.

What older cards are you comparing the newer cards to?
