1st Update Pokemon Black Dark Challenge
Spoiler:

Started the game with oshawott to use as an Hm slave later
Caught purrloin on Rt 2 and boxed oshawott
got kicked around by everything under the sun while training purrloin
arrived in striaton city and
surprisingly managed to beat cilan without much difficulty, the trainers in the gym gave me more trouble than the gym leader
Grinded purrloin some more on the way to Nacrene City and it evolved into Liepard
Beat Lenora after about half a dozen attempts, only won because the ai is crap, otherwise I would probably have had to train Liepard til around the mid thirties before I could win. All herdier would have to do is land a leer or two on liepard before fainting, then if Watchog used Retaliate it would be a 1 hit KO
chased team plasma out of Pinwheel Forest
passed right through Castelia City and caught a Scraggy and a Sandile on Route 4

I just know burgh is going to be a nightmare to beat, but who knows maybe the ai will let me win

After rejecting Charmander at the professor's lab in Lumiose City, I went on to more quiet surroundings - the big city never really did it for me, anyway. Much to my dismay, though, Camphrier Town was super boring, so I left there and went to the Parfum Palace with that little girl who doesn't shut up. We chased a Furfrou around a garden, until its owner showed up and thanked us for catching Pokémon for him. He then put up a display of fireworks for me and the girl, and the girl got all giddy and weird. 2/10, would not watch fireworks with again.
Anyway, I got someone to trade me a level 1 Houndour from their X version, as Houndour is exclusive to Pokémon X. But not before I made it all the way to Ambrette Town and went looking for fossils in Glittering Cave. After grinding Houndour up a bit, it evolved! And then I moved on to Cyllage City, where before challenging the Gym Leader, I went ahead and caught myself an Eevee, evolved it straight away with a Fire Stone I found somewhere outside Glittering Cave, trained it up a bit and headed for the Gym.

The Gym itself was tough, as I don't have a lot of coverage yet. And I'm not sure I'll have great coverage against Rock-types, even by the end of this challenge. We did make it to the Gym Leader, though, where Flareon and Braixen saved my ass and won us that badge.

Here's my team so far:
Spoiler:

Braixen, lv. 26
Male // Timid // Blaze
- Scratch
- Psybeam
- Ember
- Howl

Fletchinder, lv. 25
Male // Adamant // Flame Body
- Return
- Swords Dance
- Roost
- Peck

Litleo, lv. 25
Female // Modest // Unnerve
- Headbutt
- Noble Roar
- Ember
- Work Up

Houndoom, lv. 26
Female // Modest // Early Bird
- Bite
- Ember
- Roar
- Smog

Flareon, lv. 25
Male // Careful // Flash Fire
- Fire Fang
- Quick Attack
- Bite
- Refresh

-Cleared routes 15, 14, 13 and the southern half of route 12.
-Got Surf and Strength
-Challenged Koga, besides the fact half of his gym is in fact Psychic and he throws Toxic around a lot, the battle went smoothly. It was quite an intoxicating battle.

A pretty long update on my ground monotype challenge through Firered

-Cleared routes 19 and 20
-Beat the Fighting Dojo with my mighty Pokemon of dirt.
-Entered Silph Co. and saved the day, battled my rival and giovanni, won both battles no problem.
-Battled Sabrina and won, was an easy fight due to her paper thin defenses on some Pokemon. I guess she didn't see me winning.
-Cleared route 21
-Reached Cinnabar, cleared the Pokemon Mansion (that music is creepy) and got the key which Blaine lovingly hid deep in here. Thanks Blaine, really.
Challenged Blaine, had some difficulty with intimidating and his ninetales, but afterwards I managed to persevere and win. He's the one who needs a burn heal now.
-Gets accosted by Bill and dragged off to one island.

Updated through Post #114. Hooray!

The Ultimate Steel Monotype Challenge: White Version 2
8/8

I made it to Humilau, and defeated Marlon, the Gym Leader with the strangest name. I actually only barely pulled it off with only one member of my team left by the end, and it had only 5 HP. And was burnt. But I did it! But I still have a ways to go before the Elite 4. I have to defeat Team Plasma next.

Final update: Dark monotype SS

After days of grinding, whining, and short hiatus, I finally made it past Red. Luke suggested Protect and I was like, TIME TO DOWN PILLS so it was over to Goldenrod I went. I had to take out Red's Pikachu with Tyranitar since none of my other 'mon would be able to OHKO it (believe me, it was badly needed). Next was Blastoise sent out. I found out the hard way earlier that it carried Focus Blast, which badly marred my earlier Red runs. So this time I was fully stocked with X-items. Out went Crawdawnt and he started popping a lot of X. Sp Def. That let me stall out his Focus Blast and I was able to take advantage of his ineffective attacks to boost up Crawdawnt as much as I could before Blastoise was KO'd by Sandstorm. At that point, it was a sweep and nothing left to say other than I HATE RED!

Final team:
Spoiler:
Level 79 Lonely Tyranitar (Necrum)
Protect|Earthquake|Crunch|Rock Slide

Level 77 Timid Houndoom
Shadow Ball|Flamethrower|Protect|Nasty Plot

Level 78 Gentle Honchkrow
Dark Pulse|Protect|Sucker Punch|Wing Attack

Level 77 Hasty Crawdawnt
Strength|Protect|Crunch|Waterfall

The Ultimate Steel Monotype Challenge: White Version 2
8/8 + Ghetsis

I defeated White Kyurem and Ghetsis just a moment ago. Whote Kyurem was pretty easy, since my team is super effective to it. Ghetsis on the other hand, was a real pain in my arse. Seismitoad and Eelektross proved the toughest opponents of the battle, asn I was really lacking in moves that would be effective to them.

I'm on my way to the E4 now. Not gonna post my team for this one. Final team will come at the end of the challenge.

Poison Monotype - FireRed

Last stop of the day was Victory Road and the E4. I had a wee bit of trouble getting through Victory Road because I forgot to stock up on healing items. Barely had enough to get through. Phew! I didn't have any trouble with the E4 until I reached Blue because the bugger had two psychic types on him. I had to spend a number of revives on Nidoking so that I could take out both Alakazam and Exeggutor with Megahorn. Smooth sailing the rest of the way!

Final team:
Spoiler:
Naughty Tentacruel Lv. 55
Constrict|Ice Beam|Surf|Giga Drain

Rash Venomoth Lv. 56
Psychic|Aerial Ace|Stun Spore|Sleep Powder

Quirky Nidoking Lv. 57
Megahorn|Thrash|Brick Break|Thunderbolt

Rash Venusaur Lv. 55
Razor Leaf|Earthquake|Synthesis|Strength

Here's the final update on my Electric monotype in Emerald!
After deleting Team Magma and Aqua at their respective hideouts, I made my way to Mossdeep City. In order to battle the twins I decided to go catch a Plusle (that would invariably faint) so Manectric could solo against the Tate and Liza. The battle was pretty difficult, having to strategize with two against one. After getting the 7th badge from them, I was finally able to dive so I went underwater and caught my second and final team member, Chinchou! I spent the next while training it up to Manectric's level (25 levels!), evolving it along the way. Once that was over, I moved along with the story, defeating Team Aqua at Seafloor Cavern. I then was able to awaken Rayquaza, which allowed me to finally take on Juan, who was no match for my electric types! I then quickly traveled through Victory Road, defeating Wally along the way. Once I made it to the Elite Four, I adjusted some movesets and went straight into battle! Lanturn's Ice Beam primarily dealt with Sydney and, later, Drake, while Manectric's Thunderbolt took care of Phoebe and Glacia. To defeat Wallace, Manectric took care of pretty much everyone and Lanturn took care of Manectric's problems, namely Whiscash! And with that, FIN!

Team
Manectric / Lv. 60 / Bite, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Return
Lanturn / Lv. 59 / Surf, Ice Beam, Spark, Confuse Ray

Pokemon X Bugmono Update
so i decided to finish this damn thing and i'm starting now.

Spoiler:

Went on to cylagge (spl?) city and realised i was severely underlevelled AND the next gym was rock, welp.
went back to the battle house thingy near the day care and beat the trainers again
went back to parfum palace route and caught an oddish to force horde encounters
used hordes to level everyone to 25
struggled through the gym trainers healed and bought some super potions

VS Grant
knew this would be tough. Dwebble got thunder waved and hit back with smack down then he hit me with take down which did a lot but i survived and then got paralysed, dandy. so then i died
sent out Butterfree who put it to sleep and hit psybeam forcing the potion got infestation on it then began chipping away with psybeam got it to red then it woke and hit me with take down boosted by refrigirate and super effective which OHKOd me but killed him with the recoil.
Vivillion managed to take over half off of tyrunt with Draining Kiss before dieing to rock tomb, my only strategy left was to pray whirlipede could tank a hit and get iron defence up, it worked so i healed and got up 3 iron defences (healing all the while) then screeched him and finally bug bite finished him off.

Complete!

I defeated Iris today. The E4 were not too much of a threat, though there were a good few Pokemon who had Earthquake which was extremely annoying. Victory Road was the same as always, long. Iris took me 2 tries. The first round I lost because of how OP Dragon Dance Haxorus is. Second round she never even used Dragon Dance and was thus her downfall.

So glad to be done with this challenge, it's been over a year since I started it, mostly because I used it as my bored in between other challenges challenge. It was fun but it had to end.

Previous Progress:

Decided to make my buddy Necrum happy and do an Ultimate Mono Run. Went with normal because it's a great type with a lot of Pokemon to choose from!

I'm gonna start from the beginning and do my run through Yellow first. Named myself Norman and my rival Blue. Did all the boring beginning game stuff and then started the hunt for a Level 4 Rattata on Route 1. Upon finding it I caught him and named it Nibbles. Grinded a bunch so I could beat Blue on Route 22 with ease which I did. Beat all the trainers and grinded to Level 14 so I knew Hyper Fang before Brock. With a few creative Tail Whips I surprisingly beat him with little trouble (after nearly having a heart attack because of Bide.) Maneuvered around as many trainers on Route 3 and Mt. Moon to leave experience for my next Pokemon: Clefairy! After a little searching I found her and started her training regimen. After looking her up I realized she didn't really learn anything good after Sing so I made my way to the Moon Stone and evolved her! Beat up Team Rocket and after defeating Jesse and James Nibbles evolved! Just beat Blue on Nugget Bridge and getting ready for Misty and her dang Starmie!

Ultimate Bug Mono: Pokemon X Update
Spoiler:

went onwards through reflecting cave
half an hour on route 12 later Caught Dikcpinch the Pinsir (game wont let you call it dickpinch :/ )
Beat Calem at Tower of Mastery dwebble took down meowstic butterfree used the sleep + chip strategy on braixen and Vivillon took down absol with struggle bug 2HKO
Trained Pinsir at the gym
VS Korrina
ouch this was tough, the gym itself was easy enough but she covers her types well
Meinfoo was first and shield dust avoided a flinch from fake out to 2HKO with psybeam followed by draining kiss, stayed in on machoke and vivillon hit it with psybeam which did about half and then rock tomb. butterfree put it to sleep and hit psybeam forcing a potion then hitting another psybeam it got BS 2 turn sleep and rock tomb.
so it was back to the grant strategy of Whirlipede tanking, it worked again and after a few poison tails Machoke was down.
i hoped dwebble would do SOMETHING to hawlucha but even rock slide did barely a third while Power up Punch followed by flying press finished me. i thought i was toast cuz flying press is fighting AND flying type but turns out that it was still not very effective on whirlipede (4x resistance to fighting ftw) so after a couple of iron defences and screeches i forced her to use another hyper potion then finally finished it off with a final poison tail. yeesh

Taking a bit of a break from X today
SO I was home sick today, so I played pokemon, I am this far now, will update later tonight

I am at Celadon Game Corner, about to go into the lair
Fun Fact
Spoiler:
Celadon in Kanto = Tokyo in Japan

Overleveled Team -

Shelk
Level 34
-Water Gun
-Mega Kick
-Mega Punch
-Bite
Shelk hasn't seen much action recently aside from tanking the whole Dark Cave, but he is close to evolving, and I can't wait for that, especially aside from my X playthrough, I have never owned a Blastoise legitimately. This far in, Vap hasn't really gotten to shine, so Shelk gets MVP

Cry Now (Formerly Laugh Now)
Level 28
-Tackle
-Dragon Rage
-Bite
-Splash
OMG, this guy has huge stats for early-game, but he doesn't have the movepool right now to really utilize those stats, so I will give him the honor of the infamous LVP award!

Vap
Level 26
Water Pulse
Sand-Attack
Growl
Quick Attack
Vap is really new to the team, so I can't judge him just yet, but his stats rival Cry Now's and he is two levels under him, along with the fact that he is new and has the most HP already at 103! Vap is up and rising!
