Nintendo's official view on PKMN Pearl and Diamond

This week I sent an e-mail to nintedo asking them about the games. This is the answer I got from them. I hope this is some good info to all of you.

The answer:

Hi Victor,

At this time, there are no official plans to release Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl in the US. You never know what the future might hold, though, so keep checking our web site (www.nintendo.com) for the latest information.

For details on all new or upcoming games for our systems, go to www.nintendo.com and open the "Game List" (located in the upper-right corner of our main page). If you need to narrow your search for a specific type of game (based on release date, publisher, number of players, etc.), try using our Advanced Filtering option. When you bring up your desired listing of game titles, you can click on the name of a game to find out all the information that we currently have available on it. If the information you are looking for is not yet available, please keep checking back. When there is new information to share on announced games or other upcoming products, our web site is the best official source!

Please keep in mind that details on licensed software represents the most current information that we have available from our licensee companies. Also, any posted release dates for both Nintendo and licensee titles are estimates and subject to change. When it gets close to a product's estimated release date, you may want to check with your local retailers to see when it may be available in your area.

So what they are saying is Diamond and Pearl might not be in America but if that's true they won't be in Australia Either.

I hope it is false though.

All they said was no Official Plans. That just means they havent decided on a release date or anything like that yet. If you are niave enough to think that Nintendo isnt making a Pokemon game for the DS then I pity you. It may not be called Diamond and Pearl when it is released but one will come out.

That was exactly what I thought.

you know that if it comes out in Japan it will surely come out in America - after all, it is one of their biggest markets, and a chance for them to make an extra 10 grand or so. It just means it hasn't been officially announced.

They say that about every game they release in japan first. just wait for the japanese release date to be announced, they will follow with a date for the us shortly after. E3 is sometime in may, and apparently nintendo is going to be showing screens of pearl and diamond, so the wait won't be long for more info.

Pity we wont get to see the Revolution at E3. But the new pokemon would be nice.

And there is most definitly a mew pokemon game coming out, otherwise they would not make new pokemon, sorta logical!

Revolution is Nintendo's next system.

And don't contact NoA about games we know barely anything about. NoA never gives game information on their site or in Nintendo Power until like 1 month before it's released. Pokemon D/P aren't even on this month's Game Forcast (shows game coming out soon/eventually/that came out recently), but they have Pokemon XD (3D GCN RPG, like Colosseum), which, in a way, we have less info about.

It just means that they don't have a release date yet. They will announce Pearl and diamond hopefully at e3.

But they don't always announce release dates at e3. Usually, far off games, possibly like this one, are only shown at e3 to confirm that they are being made.

For all of you who are worried D/P won't come out past Japan, games are NEVER confirmed for a US release date this early in the process. It will come out here, don't worry ^-^;;

True, if Japan have little to no information about D/P then USA isn't going to either, wait til autumn for a possible release date, I say

I think I heard it is coming out this november (D/P) which means it will be until Spring 2006 (Maybe april or march) unitl the game is realease in the US.
