Only shinyquagsire has done it, and he wrote down most of everything. It is an extremely advanced concept, as even I don't understand it completely.

Actually, you have less. For some reason, I could only get 0-A to work when I was doing this.

This is the MAIN reason that GF had so few OW palettes to begin with. If you made your hero and heroine share the same palette you can free up one slot. Sharing palettes is the best way to go. Also, you can only have 16 NPCs on screen at once, if I remember correctly, because of a limitation in the way the NPCs are stored in the RAM. So, you were already limited already.

Does anyone know the offset of the original script that gives 1 Premier Ball after buying 10 Poké Balls in FireRed?
(Apparently, JPAN's hacked engine erases it.)

I'm looking at the mart script right now, and it isn't in there. Let me keep looking. I think it make be an excess script that is called by the mart command separately.

edit: Apparently, it doesn't exist at all. I just bought 99 pokeballs on my clean FR rom and I didn't get a premier ball, however I did get one when I tried it on Ruby. The string of text used in Ruby also doesn't exist in FR.

Does anyone know how to change the town map in fire red, not the actual maps, the region maps that you see at pkmn centers and on the town maps? I have been eager to learn how ever since I started hacking. An example of what I am talking about is the Pokemon shiny gold map, liquid crystal map, flora sky map, etc. Those maps all have the same style and I need to know how to do that. A guide or tut would be great.

Anyone know where to change the palette of the hero's backsprites?

I go to NSE and I go to bookmarks and then I go to the backsprites. I can't change the palette the same why you normally would (because it is grayed out). I checked out the sprite pointer but I can't change the palette there (not that I know of) because I need the sprites offset.

So does anyone know where I can change the palette?

Hello,
appearantly NSE provides a WRONG palette. (35B968, is the 1'th OW-palette)
The correct palette is located at: E76EE4 (just researched for you in 1 minute and 15 seconds.)
You can simply change the palette with "APE", the Advance Palette Editor.
Just enter E76EE4 and change the palette as you wish. (DO NOT ENTER 35B968, AS YOU **** UP THE HIRO OW THEN)

Are there any known alternatives to VGMTrans and VGMToolbox for ripping NDS samples and making them into DLS files? Neither of them seem to be able to open the ROMs I want them to. I've tried using ndssndext, which does rip the samples, but doesn't preserve them in a soundbank or tell me the looping points. Any ideas?

Edit: Never mind! Found a new version which works! Yaaaaaay!

How do I create a table in HxD? Still fairly new to hex editing and not sure how a table looks in a hex editor.

There is no main style how table are built.

I have made a town and I also made a route that exits the town. I'm in that route, and I battle a trainer. I lose. Then, my question is, how do I change where you go after you panic (In this case, back to my own house to where the mom heals your Pokemon for you) Since I have not made it to a Pokemon center yet. Is this all in script? If so, I need help.. Thanks!

This question might have been answered, but I never found it. Can the cry table be extended so that, in Ruby, the Pokémon between Celebi and Treecko have their own distinct cries instead of the Unown's cry? I've been wanting to know if anyone can help me with this, because for months I've been trying to figure it out, and I know that it is possible.

No matter what, you always end up in the last place your pokemon were healed, besides if a trainer healed them. So only at your house or a pkmn center. For example, say you were in pewter city and you healed there, then you made it to cerulean city. When you got there you didnt heal and you lost a battle. You would end up in the pewter city center. However, if you healed in cerulean before you lost that battle, you would end up in the cerulean center instead since it was the last place you healed. Correct me if this isnt what your asking.

Btw, can anyone help me on my map question earlier???

Is there an XSE command that lets you change what the PC OW looks like (Say you joined team rocket and you got the uniform, you turn from the default PC OW to Male/female grunt OW)
Apparently JPANs hacked engine can do that, but i don't really understand all that stuff

Nope, no command. Just practice and eventually you will understand. Trust me. It took a few read throughs, but after a while, you will get it.

For both of you: sethealingplace command. Hit F1 in XSE and look for it.

First, you answered your own question:

Can the cry table be extended...?//I know that it is possible.

Second, this is one of those hacker specific things that makes hacking fun: research.

1) Find the table.
2) Understand the table.
3) Try to expand it.
3.5) Deal with limiters (if present).
4) Deal with any bugs you make.

This is how 90% of research goes in hacking. It becomes easier once you learn ASM.

So I just finished inserting a new path tile, but after testing it out I've found a weird bug with it. I think I know what's caused it but I can't really change the palette now. Here's a screenshot of before the bug:

Looks normal, but this is what happens once I enter the house:

Most of the path tiles turn into parts of the door animation. I'm thinking it's because they're sharing the palette of the door (or I overwrote some important tiles).

When I leave the house again, it's still there. It won't disappear until I exit the map. Is there any way I can fix this without changing to a different palette or tileset?

Is there a way to force evolution in Pokémon FireRed? Like a cheat or a small edit of some ram bytes? I need this for debugging purposes.

Rare candies my friend. Just make a quick script that gives you unlimited of them. Delete the script later.

Yes, this has happened to most of us on all games. There are certain tiles in every tileset used to temporarily store that door animation. So, move your path somewhere else.
