Whenever you want as far as I know. As long as it's known that a game is coming out a certain date you can reserve it (and sometimes when there isn't even an absolute release date, like with GTA4 and Super Smash that have both been delayed 2-3 times)

That would truly suck. But I kind of doubt it will happen, mostly because the game has been completed for well over a year now and only needed to be translated for the US release. But then again that didn't stop them from releasing T&T. I don't put anything past game companies these days.

Wow, I was expecting much more discussion after the release. I just got around to getting my copy today, and I'm having a lot of fun with the first case.

The visuals look better too, like they added more shading and stuff.

The only thing I don't like so far is it seems like they kind of changed Phoenix into a more dark and mysterious type. And they ditched the spiky hair. Spiky hair > the beenie.

Anyways, I got AJ the day it came out and beat it within 2 days x3 I finally beat one of the games before my brother!

I would have liked a fifth case. That's pretty much the only thing I would change. I REALLY liked it :3 The fourth case was so fun, I loved going back in time. *Back to the Future music plays* Vera was a cool character, I loved the nail polish thing. I liked Wocky, too. Very cute

Kristoph really surprised me, being the murderer in two cases. I also liked that Apollo was Lamiroir's son, and that he's Trucy's half brother. I expected Apollo to be annoying, but I actually really liked him.

One more thing I loved- Apollo's bracelet. Analyzing people up close was so fun.

It's been a while since I last visited. And I beat this game too. It was really cool! ^-^

Man, there really should've been a fifth case! Maybe one that explains what happened to Maya and Pearl. And I want to see how they look like now.

The fourth case was cool, but it seemed a little short to me for some reason. And I got stuck a bit trying to perceive Brushel and his sweaty armpit. Hehe.

Klavier's really cool! I like his Objection (hits the wall). ^-^

And the Lamiroir thing was really a surprise. I thought Thalassa looked like Lamiroir, but still, it blew me away finding that out, along with the half-siblings thing.

The ending did a good job of wrapping things up, at least about Phoenix's badge. Maybe in the next game, he'll have a new badge? He did say that he might take the Bar Exam again.

Oh yeah, "Big Wins" Kitaki's apron! Hehe, cute! ^-^

My thoughts about defendants and killers:

Machi...I felt really sorry for him seeing him at the Detention Center. He's so young, so far away from home, and can't understand the language (supposedly).
I didn't expect Daryan to be the killer at all, until he took Machi away.
Yeah, I thought Vera was pretty cool too, being the actual forger and all.

Hahaha I just finished the game today. I kind of got sidetracked by SSBB and COD4 and never really got around to finishing the game. But I finally did it! w00ttttt.

So, it seems to me that everyone has already finished the game so I won't bother with spoiler tags. If anyone catches something they shouldn't, my apologies.

Sooo, where to begin.

Well, I mentioned this before those 4 days or however many got removed, but I really didn't liek Phoenix's character, at least at first, in the game. For one, I didn't even recognize him at first with the hat (WTF no spiky hair!?!?!?@@!?111????). That annoyrd me from the start. And then he was never really straightforward with answers and stuff, which made him just seem like more of an annoying witness than the guy I used to worship in the other games. That being said, he got back on my good side in the last case, and I really hope that since the whole forged evidence thing was cleared up and he should essentially be off the hook after a jurist trial of Kristoph that he should get to do the BAR again and get back his badge.

My favorite case was the Kitaki case. It was the only one that I can genuinely say that I was surprised by. The whole cart thing with the chick shooting the doctor totally caught me off guard. I tip my hat to the writers on that one.

On the other hand, I wasn't a big fan of the last case. I felt like everything was just kind of dropped on your lap the whole case. Especially in the second day of the trial. They were barely past the introductions and already you've got Kristoph in there. It was just annoying. In all of the previous games you had to prove your client innocent and THEN accuse someone new. They basically asked right in the beginning "Who did it and why?" and the rest after that was just some pointless lines of questioning. That being said, I really liked the going back in time, and Lamiroir being AJ and Trucy's mother was surprising. I'm eager to see how that plays out in the next game.

I thought Apollo was a very good successor to Phoenix, because he is basically a very similar case to Phoenix as far as careers go. The only thing that I didn't like was that they presented him as a very weak person physically, where at least Phoenix was the same as everyone else. For one there was Ema Skye always referring to them as kids, and also in the zoomed out courtroom he always looked like some teenage kid in comparison to Klavier. I would like if they had him treated as an attorney instead of a kid in the future games.

Also I wasn't a huge fan of the Ema Skye character. They put it right at some point in the beginning, she was "Emo Skye" in every sense, and it kinda got on my nerves after a while.

Well, I guess I'll post more some other time, but I'm tired of posting for now.

The second case was really good, I agree. I like how a bunch of mini crimes in the beginning turned out to be all part of one big thing somehow. The killing from the cart was ingenious too, what with being shot in the right temple and all.

But I think I liked the third case best. I don't know why, really, but it really surprised me. First, Lamiroir can speak English, then she's blind, while Machi's not. I didn't really know who the killer was until after Daryan took Machi away at the Detention Center.

The fourth case... I agree it didn't really live up to the standards of the other final cases. Now that I think about it, it really does seem that everything's dropped in your lap. But the ending was nice though. Any info on the next game?

Ema was weird, I thought. She's so much different than in the first game. Aside from her obsession for science, she seems like a different person.

There are a few things I wondered about... How did Lamiroir end up in Borginia? And why was Apollo working at Kristoph's place at 15? Did Kristoph adopt him? And I forgot: who was Thalassa's first husband (I think they mentioned something about him--maybe a job or something)?

Some VERY exciting news from Wiki:

A project codenamed New Gyakuten Not Saiban (NEW逆転 NOT裁判, New Gyakuten Not Saiban? "NEW Turnabout, NOT Trial") was announced by Capcom in February 2008. In the April 2008 issue of Famitsu, it was revealed to be Gyakuten Kenji (逆転検事, Gyakuten Kenji? Turnabout Prosecutor), a spinoff Nintendo DS game starring prosecutor Miles Edgeworth and detective Dick Gumshoe. The investigation portions are presented using a third-person camera view. The game takes place before and after the events of Gyakuten Saiban 3. The release date is yet to be determined, but development is 40% completed as of April 2008.[3]

Gyakuten Saiban 5, the next installment in the Ace Attorney series, was announced by Capcom's president on May 22, 2007 with no further detail.[4] It is not known whether Gyakuten Kenji and Gyakuten Saiban 5 are being developed simultaneously.

Daletto and Capcom have partnered to bring the three GameBoy Advance games to Microsoft Windows as episodic content in Japan; the first game, for example, is broken into 17 episodes and only includes the original four chapters from the first game. The games will be released between March and May 2008. At the present time, Capcom has not announced plans to bring these to other regions.[5]

Very exciting, not only has another Ace Attorney/GS title been announced, but also apparently a game starring Edgeworth taking place supposedly before AND after the third installment. Very interesting. Of course there is the possibility of a bad translation and it only taking place either before or after (personally I lean more towards after), but it seems that it is clear that this other game to be presumably released close to GS5 will star Edgeworth and Gumshoe. It's Wiki I know, but generally the material on Wiki is about as reliable as any.
