View Full Version : Do you enjoy the egg salad?

November 5th, 2007, 3:49 AM
Wow, most of my polls have had random titles... lol

Well, anyways..........................................................

the real question is: Do you prefer: Im, Text messageing (sp?), or just talking on the phone?

Uhm, phone for me, but Im is pretty cool too

November 5th, 2007, 3:53 AM
Well, I prefer IM myself. It's a lot faster than texting. and I'm too shy to talk on the phone much

November 5th, 2007, 4:02 AM
IM then phone then text messaging. To tell the truth, I've only sent 1 text message in my whole entire life.

November 5th, 2007, 4:04 AM
I'm much too shy to talk on the phone, and my friends don't use text messaging, so I use IM. Although, when I desperately need to get a message across to them, I send a text message.

November 5th, 2007, 4:34 AM
Agreed mostly on MSN, but I prefer talking on the phone than to text mostly =|

November 5th, 2007, 5:15 AM
I prefer instant messaging over phone or text message, depending on who I'm talking to. Certain people I'd much rather talk to over the phone-- specifically, those who I'm closer to, simply because it's a more personal method of communication.

In most cases, however, IM is the way to go for me. :3

(Also, your thread titles are really, really annoying. >:O)

November 5th, 2007, 5:24 AM

Text-messaging/IMing/whatever, for me. I have some rather severe phone anxiety at times, which means that even if it's someone I'm really close to, then unless they call me I'll probably have a problem with hitting "send" to actually complete the dialing on my phone. ^_^;;

Plus I often hate hearing my own voice, so. :P I get really self-conscious about that.

November 5th, 2007, 6:13 AM
Over the phone, if I'm talking to one of my friends in another state I get so friggin' shy xD I never know what to say.
So IM is the way for moi~ I don't like text messaging, I suck at it. D:

November 5th, 2007, 6:43 AM
It has to be IM. I LOATHE the phone which is why I haven't called my grandma in town yet and I've never had a cell phone, so I can't text people.

...granted, I'm not always on IM. ._.

November 5th, 2007, 7:22 AM
IM because it's faster, then PMing because you can write more and more in-deph because you have more time, and finally phone. I hate the phone.

November 5th, 2007, 9:09 AM
Definitely IMing for me.

I hate the phone. I have ADD or something when I'm on it too, because I forget I'm talking to the person and hang up or something.

Text messaging.. Um, no.

I'll follow the crowd and say IMing. I've never liked the phone, really. =/ It's just easier to talk to people online most of the time. I mean, I use a phone when I need to or when IM/E-mail doesn't fit, but that isn't too often.

I have a lisp and I trip over my words a LOT whenever I get a headache or migraine, which is often, so I sound like an idiot, anyway. |3

November 5th, 2007, 10:11 AM
Omg, I avoided this poll for days because of the title. Can you please make relevant ones? T_T; Please?

Anyway, I far prefer IMing people. It's my element. I hate using the phone, though I'm not even sure why. I can't text, though, since I don't have that option for my phone. I can receive them and hypothetically send them, but I have to buy a plan for it or something, so I haven't.

November 5th, 2007, 11:49 AM
I don't really like the egg salad at work. It's gummy.

And I don't really like talking to people. I'm a real introvert 99% of the time, so I just don't talk to people. That said, I do prefer instant messaging over texting or the phone. I hate the phone with a passion, since I hate my voice, and I always think that I'm bothering the person on the other end. And my cell phone doesn't handle text messages. Plus, those cost money, which I don't have.

November 5th, 2007, 1:02 PM
Yeah I don't use my phone anymore, i'd rather talk in person. It's much better, I don't feel safe on the phone.

I like going on msn the most. But talking on the phone is more personal and wins if you want to pay full attention to a conversation =P I hate text messages, they can be a waste of money >.< Why can't people just talk on the phone?

November 5th, 2007, 1:15 PM
I hate being on the phone, I like being on msn much, much more. It's just less akward in my opinion :3

November 5th, 2007, 4:12 PM
Well i like IM and the Phone. IM just because its there alot and phone because its easier to hint emotion. I absolutely detest Text Messaging though.

I dont talk on the phone at all (unless it's extremely special) I find it awkward
And since I dont have a cellphone, I never text message
I do use MSN a lot and used to be big on IRC chatrooms

I really don't have a preference, I enjoy all three. Although I have been IMing a lot more lately.

November 7th, 2007, 4:03 AM
IMing. Even though I never actually IM people (if I did... it'd only be to ask a question I can't find out anywhere else), it's still better than talking to people on the phone.

November 7th, 2007, 5:28 AM
MSN Messenger all the way. I'm way to shy over the phone and I'm not a big fan of text messaging either as I like grammar and It takes to long to type all the punctuation on a phone. xP

I've made many friends over MSN and I've used it since day one of starting to become active over the internet. MSN is more free in my opinion.

Well, I don't really like talking on the phone, but I still like it better than text messaging.
It takes so long to type a message and you might probably forget something.

It's much easier to arrange things when you talk to someone.

November 7th, 2007, 7:30 PM
IM because it's free! -shot'd-
I hate to text message on the phone because it takes time.
And yeah, i just hate talking.

November 8th, 2007, 3:32 AM
I don't really mind the people hearing my voice on the phone. O_o

Oooh... also, remember, this is the last poll ever to have a random name! Woooots!

November 8th, 2007, 3:40 AM
In all forms of communication, including face-to-face conversations, IM is what I'm most comfortable with. Then comes phone conversations and maybe texting but only when little information needs to get across otherwise having a long text conversation can be a drag.

Now what does egg salad have to do with communication? Am I missing something? I know it's random and all but is there no analogy or metaphoric meaning or something? D:

November 8th, 2007, 1:14 PM
text messaging FTW. But just talking is cool too.

November 10th, 2007, 11:56 AM
I would IM only. I really don't use my cellphone that much, unless it is my family and very close friends. Or someone needed to reach me asap, I will have my cell.

But other than that IMing is the way to go. And I don't text, because it takes too long and it cost money.

November 10th, 2007, 12:06 PM
I prefer IMing on MSN Messenger. I'm too quiet to talk on a phone or in person... Text messages are fun but they annoy my mom when she has to pay the bill. Texting on the PS3 is fun. OR PICTOCHAT YAY. *shot*

November 11th, 2007, 6:12 PM
IMing on the phone is fun, although I go a bit overboard :\

Text Messaging is fun, ^.^ although I go overboard on this too.

I only call a few people, people who are close to me and mean a lot to me. Other then that, I tell them to text me.

November 11th, 2007, 7:13 PM
I don't like to talk.

So I text message, maybe too much <.<;

I like IM's because I am a good typer and Texting cost a lot for my plan and talking, I really don't like talking on the phone. I rather do it in person

Although it can happen with all three, there's a higher chance of the conversation drying up over Phone or IM, so Text is the way to go.

November 15th, 2007, 6:42 PM
IM or text messaging. I've never really liked talking on the phone.

November 15th, 2007, 10:19 PM
I usually tend to text more than anything really. I like talking on the phone from time to time, but texting is very convenient.

November 15th, 2007, 11:30 PM
IMs. Definitely IMs.

I've suffered social anxiety for a couple of years, among other things; I was always just sort of unsocial before that, too. xD;;;; I rarely had many friends and I hated having friends over, or going anywhere, etc. My social skills always seemed failing, or at least different. And I didn't mind. I resented having people around. I was more comfortable with keeping them at a distance. The sad thing is that I love to talk -- with people I'm comfortable with. Then I won't shut up. x_o;

I hate the phone and I've never owned a mobile phone. Text messaging or anything would be redundant for me. The two people I'd be comfortable with text messaging I speak to on MSN every day. I rarely go out to socialise alone; if I go shopping, it's because I need something/I want a game or something for more excuse to hide in my room. Oh, well, I've become more socially capable in the last year; but it still tires me a lot. xD

As for the phone -- I cry inwardly when it rings. I'm homeschooled and I have to talk to my teachers on the phone regularly. I always desperately hope they'll forget, but... they never do. XD

OMG, Kylie, I know exactly what you mean! O_O

Same here. I'm homeschooled, and I have to talk to my teacher about my work every week (and meet with him in person every 22 days x_x), and I hate it. It sucks so much. >_>;

On-topic-ness. Really, I wouldn't mind text messaging if I actually had a cell-phone. XD Only problem with it is that I'm somewhat picky about grammar, and it's pretty hard to do things coherently when using a number-pad. >_<

November 16th, 2007, 12:02 AM
Definitely NOT the phone, I don't know why. Maybe because of the stress of knowing once you've said something you can't take it back.

That's I prefer text messaging or IMing my friends, however my RL friends are sometimes annoying over MSN so I just use text messaging.

My E-Friends on the other hand are not annoying over IM (I feel sorry for my E-friends, as they have to put up with my ramblings of randomness XD).

November 16th, 2007, 12:58 AM
No way man! Egg Salad sucks! Huh? Text or phone... What does that have to do with egg salad? *Shot*

But seriously, I hate texting, I prefer phone calls, I like to hear a voice, not read and send, its too boring and pointless for me... Since, I'm not as shy as all the other members seem to be, I have no problem with talking to a human voice, which seems, to be nothing big if you ask me... But, I digress...

Zaiku says call>text.

November 16th, 2007, 2:32 AM
I like texting out of all of them. I don't talk on the phone that much. I talk way more than I used to though. I start of shy but eventually get better. IM is good because you get a fast reply.
